Not a high-end restaurant. But, if you want a big serving of great Chinese food, thus is your place. They are still priced well, and the food is great, hot, and fast. The ladies behind the counter are friendly and quick to get you served. There are not many diners who are eating in, but the atmosphere is nice and relaxing. I go here whenever I am in the area. I recommend highly that you try this place.

Weve been eating at Lucky Chinese for years now. Today was the last time well eat at this establishment. We spent $52 and change, ordered 1 two entree and 2 single entrees, salt/pepper wings, and fried wonton (no drinks). I understand everywhere has gotten more expensive so we are picky where we spend our money. When we got home with our food and we live about 8 minutes from this establishment so we were ready for yummy, hot, food. What we tasted was nasty food that was definitely sitting in their warmers for quite some time. Absolutely disappointed. My husband has always had great wings from there and he didnt even finish them because they were so gross. Our orange chicken was lacking all around. Texture was off, taste was gross, and not hot, barely warm. The black pepper beef should be called back pepper veggies with 2 pieces of beef. Its been a few months since we ate here and we were so excited for some tasty Chinese. 2 hours later and my husband is still complaining about $52 spent on trash. Should have went to in&out and spent less for way better fast food. Oh well, you live and learn! We wont be making this expensive mistake again.

I was visiting a friend in the area and wanted to grab a quick dinner. I didnt know this place was going to have an amazing selection of very fresh Chinese food! I live in Hillcrest so it would be quite a drive to come back but I definitely would and did! But, I came on a Sunday and theyre closed on Sundays, lol. Ill try again because they are worth it...

Let me just start and say I have been coming to this establishment for 2 years. I have never had any problems with my order. Since I moved and considering gas prices are at an all time extreme I only come once a month. Last I came in may recently and spent a good amount of money. I specifically asked if everything was in my order which was a big order and plus I had to wait 15 minutes . To my surprise when I get home I’m missing several items. When I called first I was told I can only get certain items back not the full items to be replaced. I didn’t by half of a meal, if I wanted just rice and noodles that would have been just my order. The lady I spoke to never put my name down. Every time I call, there is no manager. So basically I got robbed from this establishment. They took my money and didn’t provide great customer service. I will make sure I let people know to be careful when entering this establishment. The management has changed or something and the people at the counter just seem like they don’t care. How would anyone feel when you pay your hard earned money and don’t get what you pays for? Never coming here again. There are better places!!!

Love the food... Always a first choice. But it depends on who isworking the service is great except for one lady. 2 forks for 3 3 side plates is ridiculous especially when you asked for 5. And one teriyaki sauce cup for 3 entrees of it isnt right. Flavors amazing though!!!!

Our first time in this establishment, located on Magnolia Street, El Cajon, CA. Our car was getting an oil change so we decided wed try this place while waiting. Very simple, interiors, actually dated, a few chairs, tables & booths, seating for possibly 25 - 35 guests. It was a sort of buffet style as you walk in the door & greeted by the staff behind the enclosed buffet counter, where you can view the hot food selections in the warming tables, where the a lady was dishing out your choices. The menu above the wall behind her explains the serving choices - 1 entree & sides, 2-entree & sides, etc., with corresponding prices below it. Since it was just lunch, we decided wed share a 2-entree plate. The lady dished out a good-sized serving of our order - Mushroom Chicken & Orange Chicken with some fried rice & noodles. We excitedly sat down & started to eat. Delicious!!, we both agreed, as we compared this to a very popular Chinese fast food fare around (Panda E..). These items were very freshly made, not overly seasoned or coated w too much batter or overly sweet & sour. Surprisingly good! As we got our call that our car was ready. I was so focused on enjoying my food that I completely forgot to take photos of it. We are returning soon, & I will definitely update this review of a great new find in El Cajon, for delicious Chinese food! Until then, try them, theyre near a Starbucks on B radley & Magnolia.

They dont open at 10, its 10:30. And dont bother trying explain to them that their hours on google are wrong, because the language barrier is too large. When I tried they got frustrated and borderline rude. That said, Im not trying to be a jerk, so I still left 5 stars because the food is good and fairly priced. And when I say 10:30 its 10:30, when i went in it was 10:28 because I thought they opened at 10 and wanted to give time to set up, and thats when they got snarky.

This was my first time going to this place and I dont know how long theyve been in business. We found them by searching for Best Chinese Restaurants and they were the first choice.When we went there, I noticed the place was very clean and the Associate was very nice. They had a display like Panda Express, but unlike Panda Express, you picked out your selection and the Associate would give your order to a cook and they cooked your meal or whatever he did. It was nice, hot, and fresh.

I went here the other day & its been a long time since Ive eaten here & Im so glad I tried it again after all this time. I asked if they make egg foo young since it wasnt on the menu & they said yes. I ordered their shrimp egg foo young & it is delicious😋😋. I highly recommend it.😁 The food is fresh & you get a lot for your money. Eric & Lisa that work there are awesome & really friendly. I cant wait to go there again.

This is my ABSOLUTE favorite Chinese Food place!! I eat here all the time! Its a family tradition to eat here after every time we come back from out of town, it is the best part of coming home! If you have not tried it yet or having been going here for years, try the rice noodles! (Thank me later!) Their family deal is the best, it feds five of us twice! So good!

I really cant say enough about Lucky Chinese food. They have one location in Santee and one in El Cajon and their food is just delicious. You got to try the salt and pepper chicken wings, spicy pork, Singapore rice noodles, and the hot and sour soup is amazing! Enjoy!

Local family owns and operates this restaurant. Pick up only while Covad19 restrictions in effect. Order egg rolls when you first enter for fresh cooked rolls. Id say this place is a premium quality restaurant as meat dishes are lean, and noodles arent soggy. The chef owner will get to know you when you are a repeat customer. Not any more expensive than the chain china restaurants. Go and enjoy!

One of my favorite Chinese spots in east county San Diego. Food is always fresh and delicious and they are always generous with their portions. Personal favorites: The Salt and Pepper Chicken wings - Nice and meaty with a good batter and seasoning. Perfect for parties. The Egg Drop Soup: Everything an egg drop soup should be and none of the filler. Plus their crunchy won tons are on point. The BBQ Pork - great flavor and always made fresh. Honestly, everything is good here. Would recommend to anyone.

Ive been coming to Lucky Chinese in El Cajon for 24 years. I prefer them over Panda Express. I have never had bad service. The staff is friendly and the service is fast. The food is great and fresh. My kids cant get enough. We eat there at least 2 times a week.

Worst food ever. The sweerand sour pork was so overcooked and dry and hard, I could hardly cut it with a knife and could not eat it. The Bbq pork was rubbery. The only thing edible was the fried rice. I will never go there again.

I love this Chinese Restaurant! I love everything here. I just gotta be careful not to eat too much cuz i swear i love their food so much i cant stop myself. I love the crispy noodles dipped in sweet and sour sauce for an odorve. Its always pretty busy there cuz everybody else must love it too plus the prices are reasonable.

Last night visiting this restaurant had to be the most humilating and total lack of respect for the customer Ive ever experienced. Before I explain my problem regarding last night I will focus on the positive. I live in El Cajon and theres a multitude of restaurant choices in the area. I have visited location on several occasions and up until last night had no issues or complaints. The food is good with great portions and fresh. The staff has always been courteous. So regarding last night 2/16/17 I had a strong craving for Orange Chicken with Salt and Pepper Wings and some hot and sour soup because the weather was chilly. I placed my order online which was the first time ever doing so since the location is about 5 minutes from my house. Also the restaurant was closing in 45 minutes and I just wanted to make sure I order my food promptly. So, my girlfriend orders my food for me while I was driving and I showed her the menu items I wanted. Clearly the wings say 5.99 and the Orange Chicken says 7.99 for a large portion and that was what I ordered. So we arrive at the restaurant and I noticed the total had 7.99 wings and orange chicken 7.99. So I show the cashier the price online and the address and the menu to make sure I wasnt delusional and making up anything. Of course, she didnt know how to handle the situation so she called her manager upfront. I showed him the menu online that I ordered from and the pricing. The only difference on the entire menu was the wings showing 5.99 online and the restaurant signage showing 7.99. Now I began to explain to him that I just called in my order and there was a price discrepancy of 2.00 dollars. 1st, he tells me that he didnt put the price online and he couldnt honor that price. 2nd he explains that the price is over 5 years old and its no longer the price. 3rd, he tells me that I didnt read the correct menu and it was my fault that I ordered from a Google menu. So all the while hes talking I calmly asked so are you going to lose a customer tonight over 2.00 dollars. I told him I had been to this location many times in the past 5 months and I was craving the menu I placed. Are you really going to let me walk out the door with no food and lose a repeat customer. He politely said that is your choice but I cannot give you the wings for 5.99 and Im sorry have a nice night. Now, I understand situations where customers complain and have frivolous requests. Here was an example of poorly executed customer service on part of Lucky Chinese Fast Food. They will not be getting my business no more and Im sure to tell friend so they can tell a friend of my experience.

Chow mein is meh. Fried rice is good. Teriyaki chicken was pretty good. I went there at 1pm and they only had 2 meats out. The labels probably showed over 8 other entrees. But the trays were completely empty, so I had no choice but to eat the only 2 options. Probably not returning.

Panda is actually more authentic than this place. Think about that for a moment. Expensive, pretty mediocre to less than mediocre food, and not much to choose from at 130pm on a Friday. Frankly, finding good Chinese food in San Diego county is like trying to find an all beef burger at a vegan, raw food restaurant.

I had come to Lucky Chinese and ordered Barbecue Pork. I was told there is none. And then my wife received her noodle soup with chicken and shrimp with Barbecue Pork. She was giving them to me from her soup. I had showed up today and asked for Teriyaki Chicken. And I was told they have none. Then the manager had stated they have it. And I had mentioned that this time and last time every choice made was out. So the girl was taking my order. The owner manager has a very thin skin took the order pad from her pad ripped my order in half and stated,Do not take his order. I do not want you to ever come back here again. I went to Jack N The Box and had an uneventful lunch. I am a senior citizen with a disability caring for a spouse with several disabilities. This owner blew up out of control that discriminates against seniors with disabilities wanting to live in a progressive society. I would go to another Chinese Restaurant. Sincerely Matthew Simon

I had the worlds worst diarrhea after eating here.I didnt eat anything today so I know this place is the source.My exact order was: half fried rice, half noodles, orange chicken, and teriyaki chicken w/ the sauce on the side (for about $9). I poured the sauce on the noodles, and then went to the beach right after. (Mission Beach I highly recommend) And about 20 mins later my stomach was hurting.. Next thing you know it, I was sprinting to the public restroom. I almost didnt make it.I completely destroyed the toilet (meaning diarrhea all over the seat + floor) that sucks for the janitor that day.The orange chicken tasted good, and the teriyaki seemed fine.. fresh ingredients, etc. But something about it gave me the runs. Im sitting on the toilet writing this.Definitely will not be coming back here . I guess I was just Unlucky

Lo mein noodles tasted like old grease, entrees had lots of vegetables and less meat. Stick with the 1-item plate, stay away from the lo mein noodles and go for an entree without veggies.
