I love the food from Ly Heng, they are unique in lot of way (cooking method, flavor, the soup), when you order an item, the item will come look exactly same as the menu, very appetizing. Both chicken wing and calamari appetizer are flavorful with right amount of garlic and pepper to boost the aroma.Then come to the best part, the bone soup. When you order ride dish, usually it will come with a bowl of pork bone soup, the meat are very tender and tasty, the soup have good amount of fish sauce to help on the umami side.Every rice dish is huge, but Hainan chicken and combination fried rice are my favorite by far.

First and foremost, amazing value! They really pile on the food for the price it’s kind of crazy how much will still be left in your plate after you finish your meal. The food is also DELICIOUS!! I definitely recommend the stir fry noodle with egg noodles and beef, and the house fried rice is a heaping plate of flavor. It’s a small family owned restaurant and they deserve every star, definitely bring your family and friends here :)

This place is quaint but pumps out delicious food. If you dont get the salt and pepper squid you will regret it. I was told by a friend of mine that they sell out of the squid all the time. It is so much better than Italian calamari. I cant really explain how delicious it is, you just got to come here and try it. Parking is a challenge since its all street parking in City heights so dont bring your nice car. Will definitely go back again.

Love this mom and pop noodle spot. Owner / chef always got a smile on and comes out to ask how is everything. I always get the phnom penh noodles dry style. Absolutely love the pork bone soup you get on the side. This spot is definitely a hidden gem with an at home feeling. Service may be slow when its busy but you got to appreciate their hustle for only 2 people working!

Food tastes great, portions size is great, only bad thing is if you wanna order by phone they never pick up, I have actually talked to actual staff about the issue and it has never changed, so dont waste your time trying to order by phone, just head straight there! My brother loves the house fried rice, I like the beef fried rice, my sister likes the fried calamari!

Went here twice to make sure the dish is consistent.The beef satay egg noodles here is the best I have tasted in SD. The noodles were nice and firm. The sauce has a balanced peanut and spicy flavor. Although during my first visit, it was spicier than what I like. I requested a less spicy version during my 2nd visit and it was perfect! I am not sure what its called, but theres a soybean(?) thing they have that you can add to the dish which adds a slight different flavor.The dish also comes with bone soup. The soup is light, but flavorful. The meat is really tender and almost melts in your mouth. I like this one compared to the ones around the area because its not as fatty.Still reading? Beef satay noodles. Get it!The tofu and calamari were decent.I cant recommend other dishes since I have not had them...yet.Update: Kitchen cant keep up during busy hours so expect quite a wait. Also, you cant order takeout for some reason.

Tried the phnom penh noodles dry for the first time itnwas really good huge portions came with side of pork bone broth, the pork was so tender! My noodle side of soup and drink was 10 bucks deal!!

Came here around 5:30 on a Friday a little bit after they opened for the evening hours. I was the first customer for the evening so service was fine. Food also came out fast. I had the beef sate with thick egg noodles. Fresh, yet savory and slightly spicy, about a 4/10 on the spicy scale. It comes with a side of pork and broth, which was also delicious. It was my first time here and Ill definitely be back!

Authentic Cambodian food. The owners are sweet folks. The portions are huge for the low price they charge. Rice plates come with a bowl of soup. Has been my go to and have tried everything on the menu. Highly recommend!

Yum! Came with my friend around 2pm for lunch. This was my first Burmese and it was super tasty. We got the paratha to start which was crispy, flaky, and super delicious with the creamy curry sauce it came with. We kept the curry sauce to eat with rice later. Of course, we got the tea leaf salad which was so fresh and full of delicious crunchiness--i could eat this every day. For an entree we got the garlic chili shrimp which came with GIANT shrimp in a yummy sauce, not too spicy, very garlicky. Super fresh. We also got rice and broccoli to go with it which was perfect.

A friend of mine had raved about the great tasting food and low prices, so I came to try it and was not dissapointed. Cambodian comfort food was delicious! He ordered the fried rice, and I got the beef plate pictured. Both our meals came with a complementary savory chicken soup. There is no parking lot so you have to find a spot in the street which is limited. I ended up parking Im the residential area behind the restaurant.

First time trying Cambodian cuisine and everything about this place exceeded my expectations. The food tasted great, portions were large, the prices were very fair and the staff were really nice and helpful. We had beef lok lak, seafood mi cha (squid, krab, shrimp and egg) and chicken rice porridge, and I enjoyed the fact that the noodle dishes came with vegetables. Definitely will be coming back.

Ive eaten here 4 or 5 times. Service is a little slow and if busy inattentive. However Ive tried a different dish each time and all have been fresh, flavorful and delicious. Try the Beef Loc Lap or the Ginger Chicken.Worth special mention is the pork bone broth soup. It has a slightly off putting aroma (kinda wet dog smell) but the depth of its subtle and complex flavor is a delicious reward for being adventurous.Great value for the dollar.

I always order the bone soup when I go there, its rich and nutritious at a reasonable price.The fried calamari is a best seller and worth the try.Service can be quite slow at lunch time but if youre not in a hurry and want to take your time they have a graat menu selection from Vietnamese, to Chinese, to Thai dishes.

After reading about this place I decided to try it out. I was going alone for takeout. When I got there and searched for parking I finally went in. It was hot and there were many tables not yet cleared. I asked a question about the menu and was told they do NOT do takeout. Who doesnt do takeout??? I am disappointed I didnt get to try the food. I doubt I will ever try to eat here again.

A cleaner restaurant with a small menu...it has a variety of Asian dishes, from soup to noodles to rice. I only got take out, and the girl was nice...the food came out at a decent time wait and it was hot and fresh.I got the rice noodle dish with tofu. I thought it would be the flat rice noodle, but the noodle is in the shape of a bean sprout...something unique and of which I havent seen before. Overall, the dish was alright...you can see its oily with soy sauce darkness...but I felt it was missing some flavor though. Its a good portion for the price.

Thai tea is really good, one of my favorites! I ordered the fried rice very tasty, it also come with a side of bone soup which is also very good. I ordered the Bee Sate and do be completely honest it tasted like peanut butter, not my favorite I probably wouldnt reorder. In the past Ive ordered the Kung poa chicken and salt and pepper wing, both were equally as delicious. Overall I do like this restaurant its good. Though some of the reviews have complained of the customer service, I have never personally had a bad experience. The good has always came out in a good time.

I only like it for the food quality. BE PREPARE TO WAIT, like for AWHILE like 30 minutes + for food. A lot of their soup/noodle dishes come with a healthy side of bone broth n some bone, with meat for ya to gnarl on. To all the Asian that know what make a food broth know how cool it is that they give these bone n broth on the side. The broth is great! You can tell that they boil this for some long hours with proper root veggies n squid/shrimp for it to be that good. Many soup places doesnt even try that hard. So kudos to them. But the wait sucks! So dont come hangry, just expect to wait.

Great flavor, amazing prices. I come here for the beef satè with fat egg noodles that are smothered in a peanut sauce. This dish comes with a small bowl of bone broth that is a perfect complement to the creamy peanut. Dont forget to eat the picked peppers they bring to the table with this dish as well. I also always get the wide rice noodle and chinese broccoli with tofu. Use a lot of their toasted dry chili and peanut oil sauce-its ridiculously good. Their pork and 1000 year egg porridge is super flavorful and fatty topped with fresh herbs and fried garlic. The ginger chicken is great rice dish if you dont want noodles. There is a for sale sign, so it might not be around for long.

The four stars is mainly for the food. I never expect great service when I go to Asian restaurants, I go there for the food. This place is my absolute favorite place for Chinese/Cambodian food in all of San Diego but trust me, it is the longest place Ive waited for food in my life. be prepared to wait a while (around 30-40 min) for your food after you order!!

Rotation restaurant. Dare anyone to find a better deal than Beef satay with egg noodles or the dry style Phnom Penh noodles both served with a side pork bone soup. Delish and extremely easy on the wallet. Can be quite busy at peak hours. Closes between lunch and dinner. Not open late night. I think closed on Wednesday. Plan accordingly. I do.
