First Time I ate here and I was very satisfied with the atmosphere, service and the sushi roll I ordered was amazing. I will definitely be back! ( quiet setting) They also have a nice selection of drinks, wines -
This place is amazing!!! I had the garlic noodles, veggie roll and salmon skin roll. All three were absolutely yummy! I will definitely be back for more! The staff is very friendly and service is great! Go see them, you won’t regret it!
I always order spicy garlic edamame and deep fried gyoza, and both are perfect eveytime. My favorite roll is the to die for because its different. There are apples and lemon bits amongst fish, tempora shrimp, avacado and other dashes of special flavors I can only find at the M. Get the deep fried cheese cake, I dont like cheese cake, but this is unlike any other cheese cake. The water boy never leaves my glass even halfway empty. Its a loud environment.

Ok so two photos, we ordered the sashimi, so good, top of the line!We also got the flaming dragon, it wasnt flaming, but it was amazing!!We forgot to take pictures of the gyozas, they were really good too along with the edamame, but the sushi and sashimi, so good
Why didnt I know about this place sooner? Lodi continues to surprise me with these restaurant gems. The sushi I had the pleasure to try was very fresh and tasty. Very good customer service. The outdoor seating extension worked for this particular restaurant. Lots of local places are doing this, but our experience here was very good. It felt natural unlike other restaurants that currently dont have outdoor patios.Food wise, everything stayed yummy. Will definitely come back multiple times.
Amazing flavors and presentation for a really great trendy Japanese sushi bar experience. We will definitely visit again the next time we are in town.
We were visiting from Oregon & treated by family to this fine establishment. We were not disappointed!!! Definitely one of the best meals & service we have had in a long time. Service from the staff is on point. Very friendly and attentive. Food was full of flavor and beautifully presented. Every bite was delicious. A must try to start with, is the brussel sprouts. Perfectly tender & crispy with every bite and served with a tasty dipping sauce. Save room and finish with the deep fried cheese cake with chocolate chip raspberry ice cream for dessert. Oooo lala are you kidding me DE-LISH!!! And anything you order in between will not disappoint your taste buds. Can’t wait to come visit again next time we are in town.

Its a great place. Love the ambiance of the restaurant and the owner is wonderful and the staff are great. Its clean. I am picky with my sushi esp cause its raw but this place I love it. I tried different items they have its wonderful. I dont like brussel sprouts cause its bitter, Ive other restaurants but here i love it. It was cooked to perfection its not bitter and it compliments with the sauce. I tried the crab leg oh that was to die for, if your adventurous try the bone marrow ummm with the baguette bread its good and the kale salad that goes with it the dressing is perfect balance of sweet n sour. They have a good Saki too it was smooth my friend called it big daddy. There are some pictures of food that we tried. Oh yeah try there New York Steak sashimi it melts in your mouth..I can go on and on about this place. If your looking for something new this Sushi Bistro brings a new generation of flavors.
Everyone in our party, really enjoyed our late lunch early dinner last Sunday. Sushi rolls were perfection. Terriyaki chicken and chicken Katsu for those that dont like anything that resembles a sushi roll. Roasted brussel sprouts as an appetizer. Yum! The deep fried cheese cake was delicious!!
I have been here 3 times in the last month and it is hands down the best sushi I have ever had!! New favorite place for sure! I will be taking all my friends who come to visit to eat here. ❤
Sushi is so AMAZINGLY FRESH! We’ve dined at multiple sushi restaurants including Kru and Mikuni in Sacramento, and we were so incredibly impressed by how fresh the sushi was, especially the 25 piece Sashimi Deluxe. Came for a spa day and had lunch here, but the experience was most memorable because of the amazing food.

I went on a Sunday afternoon so no waiting. They were still very busy. The food was delicious…Brussel sprouts were the best ever. This is a very chic place and very cool for Lodi!
We loved the sashimi bowl. It was beautiful, tasty and every piece of fish was melt in your mouth tender. The fresh wasabi served with it was delightful.

Our party ordered a couple bento boxes, some sushi rolls & the garlic noodles. The bento boxes were great! One had teriyaki chicken & one had sashimi. The sushi (deep fried preggo & veggie delight) were AWESOME! Some of the best sushi we’ve had; but the garlic noodles with beef were out of this world! They were so incredibly good that even though it’s been a few weeks since we were there, I’m still dreaming about them. The staff here were great too, the only complaint I have is they wouldn’t tell me what is in the garlic noodles so I could try and re-create them at home 😢. Can’t blame a girl for trying.
We followed the sushi chef of Kyodai, now owner of M Sushi Bistro. Wow, hands down the best sushi I have had in a long time! The Pink Orchid speciality menu my new favorite. Our server was okay (my wine glass had a noticeable lipstick stain when brought to me. I was brought a new one thank goodness) but the overall sushi experience made up for this new sushi bar! The sushi chef and his crew are genuinely engaging when you ask questions and there is a noticeable vibe of artistic/fun/we love making sushi in here. The flavors were out of this world and the presentation of all the rolls is amazing. You can tell the sushi made here is excellent by the taste, artistry and quantity of sushi made while you sit at the bar. There is a clear difference between just a sushi place and a local favorite. Must try again. Would have preferred more water after I finished a few of the rolls with jalapenos. Extremely satisfying first time.
The place is so small inside it gives you anxiety. The food is delicious, but the hand roll falls apart, its a bit dry but has good taste. Will I go back? Maybe, just to try another dish. Why not 😊the food is yummy
Hands down best sashimi in the area the fish is always fresh when we ordered the sashimi the chef took time to come to our table and explain what fish were being served and the sushi is really good too friendly staff all around great experience and it’s well worth the money we paid
This place is AMAZING. Ive never had sushi as great as this place. I am not into raw fish AT ALL but this place has changed my mind. Staff was fantastic. Prices were great. Just try it out! You wont be disappointed. I wish I would have taken pictures.
Best sashimi/nigiri Ive had in the central valley (ranging from Turlock to Davis). My one advice is to get there like 5-10min before they open for lunch on weekends because this place gets ridiculously busy. Personal preference, but I think their deep fried rolls are a little too much, just stick with the raw fish.

It was their first time. As usual, we were warmly greeted by the staff. We were able to get a table right away. Our server was friendly and attentive, as were the other staff, filling our drinks and clearing our dishes.Both my sister and I had the chirashi bowls. They were filled with ample amounts of rice and topped with 17 slices of fresh sashimi - ahi, salmon, hamachi, albacore tuna, escolar, and octopus - with shredded diakon red cabbage, fried leeks, radish, and lime. My nephew had the fried potstickers and a bowl of seafood udon. Our meal was thoroughly delicious and so fresh. Thanks to Chef Minh, Hong, and staff for a fantastic meal!

This is a solid sushi restaurant. The fish is fresh and well plated. I felt the garnishes were inventive with existential details that nod to the life of the creature before me that once flew through the depths of the ocean. Wondering through my 10 piece tasting menu in a circuitous manner, I felt a rush of life as the wasabi burned my nostrils. Ah bliss.
We visit M Sushi often. The food is always perfect! The staff are friendly and attentive! I love the rolls while my wife loves the salmon plate and the spicy udon. So good, every time!
There’s a reason this place is rated almost 5 stars. It is BOMB. Service is great and food was AMAZING. Truly pleasantly suprised. The staff was all amazing, such nice servers and cooks. I cannot say enough about this place. I had the garlic noodles and added seafood it was fire. We also had seafood ramen, fried calamari & fried shrimp. 10/10 fr and I am very hard to please. Lol. Fantastic fresh sushi and delicious rolls! Ive been here twice now and the sashimi is fresh and artfully plated. The place is clean and the atmosphere is lively. The staff are courteous and efficient, even at their rush hour! Highly recommend! A great new sushi spot in Lodi!

Waited over an hour and a half for our take out order (after being told 45 mins), only to be told it would be at least another 15 mins. Half our order had been sitting on the counter for at least 45 mins while the other half was not being made. Asked for our money back and left. Disappointing based on all the good reviews.

This place was busy, full of customers and everyone seem to be enjoying themselves. We waited about 10 minutes before we were seated and another 5-10 minutes before our orders were taken. Our food came out fast and hot. Service was great, they were on top of it, got our orders right. Only comment I had was the salmon portion in my Vento box was a bit small, maybe an ounce. Excellent find in a nice little spot of the city. I never thought (respectfully) some of the best sushi Ive ever had would be from Lodi. Yellowtail, Red Snapper, Amberjack and Blue fin were all incredible and the portions were very generous. The service was excellent and my server behind the bar was very nice and recommended a good dry sake. Make sure to get the house made pickled wasabi, the stuff is incredible, wow! If I ever find myself back in that area I will be back.
Upper scale Sushi Bar and restaurant. Great service. Nothing like any other Suishi restaurant in town or near by. Will be returning again!
Recently found this location and have decided to try as much as possible from M’s menu. The Blue Fin collar was much bigger than I was expecting and easily fed two grown adults. Would love to further explore the menu

First time there it was back in January with some family and I gotta admit the food was better than I expected it to be. The folks I went with weren’t as familiar with the menu so I feel like the next time I’ll for sure know what I wanna get. Many of these roles are hefty so keep that in mind when ordering. Does get packed and crowded quickly so come early if possible. Parking either on the street or in the open dirt lot.
We drive an hour every month just to go here to experience all the amazing food this place has to offer!!
The quality of food and freshness of fish is top notch. 4 out of 5 stars because waitress never came back and check up on us plus service was just a bit slow. Food was coming out but it really seem like staff shortage maybe. Otherwise we had a delicious dinner. Will definitely come back without a doubt.

We went there for a first time try to celebrate a birthday and had to wait 45 min to an hour. We kept checking how much longer but thought we could wait for a first time try. As a long a born and raised in Lodi person we have never had to wait that long. After an hour and 15 minutes they let another group in that hadnt been waiting. The hostess was rude and unapologetic and kept giving us different stories. We walked across the street and got in after a short wait. Cant say anything about customer service at M sushi. We had grandparents and adults with one 2 year old that did really well at waiting. They wont get my business ever . Too many other really nice places that are friendly and courteous to customers.
Food was great, however, the service could be better. I felt rushed by our waitress. I recommend going to Shangri La across the street for more welcoming service.
Best sushi place Ive EVER been too. The roll was so good, I took my time with every piece. I really liked the bar set up as well. Lots of TVs so sushi + some football was all I could ask for. Would recommend 1000%. If I could I would eat here everyday!

The worst hospitality I’ve ever had at a sushi restaurant.Was excited to try this place out for my sisters birthday but the customer service was so bad at the front door we went somewhere els. I walked at 530 to put our name in since they don’t take reservations and told us it was an hour wait. I said that’s fine and waited along with several other groups. After waiting for over 45min we noticed that the restaurant was seating preferred friends/ family over the line of people waiting. When asked why they were seated first the hostess said they were special. Unfortunately they will never get our business.
I figured I would stop in and see what all the rage was about. All I can say is this is my new favorite sushi spot. The fish is top grade, and the flavors that they blend together are unique. They are not the cheapest but definitely one of the best in town.

We had the sushi, and it was very good. The Orchid roll was spicy and flavorful. The Nigeri plate was well prepared. An aged Wasabi relish on the sushi has a wonderful umami taste. Good selection of sake, and all the premium sushi options to satisfy your cravings.Minus a star because it was crammed with people and a section of the restaurant was taped off, when the space would have been appreciated. Parents... DO NOT TAKE YOUR SICK, SNIVELING CHILDREN TO DINE IN AT A RESTAURANT! It is incredibly rude and pretty much screams you could care less about the health of your community. An establishment that claims the higher end experience ought to re-seat patrons that force their coughing children on a closed space. We just got through a pandemic and apparently some of us learned nothing at all. We have several children, so this isnt a dismissive opinion of single people. Grow up, take responsibility as a parent. Sometimes you dont get everything you want in the moment and patience need be exercised if you absolutely need to splurge on a meal.
While the food was good, we waited over an hour for ours. We kept hearing the kitchen was backed up, yet others seated after us were fed and done before we were served. They forgot a dish, and charged us for it, took it off the bill when we pointed it out. Not a good experience.
I like this place a lot for a handful of reasons. Foremost, the sushi was excellent, I had never had a vegetarian roll, but they offer one with tempura veggies that was amazing. Fish is all super fresh and high quality, everything we tried was quite good. I also like this place because it doesnt feel like the traditional Lodi restaurant, it has a much more modern and contemporary feel to it, which not everyone will appreciate but I enjoyed.
I go here fairly often and I live it everytime. It actually has good vegetarian options, as a lot of the time most places have pretty basic ones. It does also offer a variety of other options for non-vegetarians as well, and all my friends always love theirs too. I especially love the cold sake they have, and they have a decent option of other drinks and wines. The staff even remembers and knows me at this point, knowing exactly what Im going to order when I come in.
I came into M at 6 on a Sunday. We put our name in for a party of 7 and the lady asked me to write down my name and number. Another employee came up during the process and told me to not put my number down because they do not call people. They informed us it would be a 35-40 minute wait and to stay close. After 50 minutes of standing outside in 95 degree weather we checked to see how much longer the wait would be. We were informed it would be another hour. I asked why we were never informed after waiting 50 minutes. The gentleman had no answer. I then asked to speak to the manager. The manager never came and the same gentleman returned and reiterated that it was going to be an additional hour wait regardless. I have never seen such unprofessional staff/management. I brought family here from out of town in hopes of having good sushi. Unfortunately, we never got that far. I encourage M to reevaluate your business practices and standards.
No offense Lodi, but I never thought I would find my new favorite sushi spot in the whole world in Lodi, CA ;) Super fresh, high quality fish and creative rolls. M sushi roll is a must. Yes it is worth $28. Always great service and orders always come out fast. Everything I have ever tried here is fantastic. Highly recommend.
Oh my goodness gracious. I been to dozens of sushi places all around NorCal and this place is by far my favorite. Ive been here 4 times across the past two years and my mind hasnt changedNot just the high quality of the fish, but the selections are very unique and they really make it work. With the roll, To Die For, I never thought lemon and apple would be so delicious on a sushi roll without adding too much sweetness and the flavor was perfectly rounded out by the avocado and fried leeks. The pink orchid was also very interesting, with a habanero masago and kimchee ponzu dip-- it has a great tang.Average sushi prices for a way way above average sushi.

Look, this is the best sushi youll have in Lodi by far. This is probably the best sushi youll have in a 50-75 mile radius (not that Ive tried ever single one in the area) but this place is unique and extremely delicious. Not only are the rolls, sashimi, nigiri, etc extremely edible, they are very pleasing to the eyes! Every plate/bowl is like a work of art. The people there are just as amazing. Every time we go Im in awe all over again, so I had to share. I took pictures this time, but guess I cant add them here.
One star only because the food was good.The service however was horrible!We spent something like an hour and 50 min for the whole thing. No exaggerations, we waited for more than an hour for our order! And then they brought our foods backwards: mains first...then waited for awhile, then brought the appetizers...then waited for a bit, then they brought the edamame (the one thing that didnt need any kind of preparation). I ordered a nigiri too when we placed our order and by that point I wanted to cancel that and leave because its been over an hour and a half since weve at the restaurant and they said they would...but they brought it to me and waitress said Theyve already made it...After all that, they still charged us for the nigiri that I wanted to cancel and forced on me. I thought to myself Let them enjoy those few bucks cuz I aint gonna go back there.Food was pretty good. Rolls were falling apart though cuz it seems they prepared our food in a hurry.This is not to tell people not to go there, cuz the food is good. This is for the restaurant to know about this, if they care...
Their spicy edamame was really good. Many delicious bento box meals to choose from. The bone marrow dish was exotic and tasty. They had larger sized sushi, larger than what I am used to, with fewer pieces, but real sushi with lots of raw pieces. Prices were a little higher. Food presentation was artistic. Great service. Would come again.
Tragic service for over priced food. Originally told the order would take an hour, which is a little long but fine. When I show up, they say another 20-30 minutes. Then another 20-30 minutes. Then they gave my order to someone else. Disorganized, unprofessional, and over priced. Save yourself and go to Yume sushi.
Thisfood is awesome and sushi is so fresh . Be warned they’re super busy during the weekend and place can be loud . I personally lie the weekdays as it’s not so loud . Definitely try the seafood udon, it’s scrumptious and never disappoints. Definitely my go to sushi spot, as food is consistent 🙂
The service was great but the food was lacking big time. The sushi was majority topping and not sushi and considering the average price point of 15 a roll I expected better. The Ramen was basically a spicy tomato soup..the noodles were extremely congealed and clumpy. The egg in the Ramen was cold the soup came out luke warm. They are very stingy with their glasses of wine. I ordered a glass of wine and received something slightly larger than a champagne flute and the glass was only filled half way..and for 9 dollars I expected a full glass.In short. The service was great the food was not up to par and they seem to be very cheap. It seems like they are trying to cut corners to save costs. I was very disappointed and will never subject myself to their subpar dishes again.

Food tasted great, however... We had a hard time finding the place as they have no signage outside. They dont have a kids menu, which is a huge negative for me. They have some unique rolls, but a lot with crab salad (to me this says not authentic) They dont have many veggie rolls (only 2) and the service was okay.
Food was good and reasonably priced but some of the service was less than great. More training of some of the staff to be courteous could boost their ratings a lot.

We waited 25 min before for the sever acknowledge us at that point we were given a brief “hi I’ll be with you in a moment”. We waited a few more minutes then she came over to us and we ordered a pretty decent amount food and drinks. The server brought our sparkling wine and small bites to us and accidentally spilled a full glass of wine on our small bites and all over the table. Creating a huge mess which took a few towels (dish towels) to wipe up. She continued to serve us after she wiped up the mess. (We said a prayer then were rudely interrupted with a “we can’t do anything for you”. We finished our prayer, ate then she brought one glass of warm sparkling wine and said she was going to not charge us for a lemonade (which we did not order nor did we have on the table). Then she brought the check. Not discounted at all. She told us she couldn’t discount any of the wine because her manager said no. We spoke with the manager, she was very rude and she too said they were not going to discount the wine (the wine was priced a couple dollars more on the bill then it was on the menu). She ended up taking $5 dollars off a $30 bottle of wine. Oh and did I mention they never gave us our $28 worth of Togo items.Bottom line is the manager was horrible but the food was okay. We won’t go back!

Ordered a “pink sky” cocktail that $9.00. To my disappointment I found not one, but two GNATS in my cocktail. The waitress said it was probably the cotton candy and I decide I would prefer a different drink. Then when the check came we were charged for the drink. It might just be me, but I feel I shouldnt be charged for a drink after I got served a bug cocktail.Luckily the food was pretty yummy. Probably had gnats in it though just like the rest of the restaurant.Maybe things would’ve been handled better if we had better service.
If I could give this place 1 million stars, I gosh darn would. My partner has high expectations for sushi and he said that the only other place that had this level of sushi quality was in Hawaii. We sat right at the bar where we could watch the sushi being prepared. Everything was plated beautifully, the servers were attentive and it was delicious. Really couldnt ask for anything else.

Great employees, great food. Ill drive all the way from Sac, just to enjoy a lunch or dinner here. Actually makes Mikunis seem like an afterthought. Be prepared for a wait during peak hours, but Mikunis can be just as long a wait if not worse. Also, you can take a nice stroll on the Lodi strip to work off calories. Even better, u can walk down the strip and find desserts and cocktails if you want to extend your evening...Just a nice getaway location.
I was invited to that place by a friend of the chef. It was a spectacular 10 round menu with highest quality kind of fish, seafood and fixings finished and served in an extraordinary style. The best kind of sushi I ever had in my life. Thumbs up for this bistro!
Slow service on a Sunday night... The head chef apparently didnt make it to work, so they were understaffed. Sashimi and Nigiri unavailable because he was the only one who could do them, too. Ordered a few small plates but were told after a few minutes that they had run out of ingredients for those particular dishes. Kind of frustrating, but the friendliness of the server (plus some complimentary drinks) smoothed that over. Honestly, the food was worth the wait though. Will definitely be back, hopefully when the head chef is there.

M Sushi Bistro is one of the best sashimi/sushi establishments in the Sacramento Valley. I have been there numerous times. It is almost a 30 mile drive each way for me, but well worth the trek. I have introduced several family and friends and everyone has been impressed. I have taken my Japan-born friends (sashimi/sushi snobs LOL), and they were as equally impressed by the quality of the seafood and plate presentation. The owners Minh and Hong have an excellent product with reasonable pricing. I will continue to send friends and family from the Sacramento area. Who would have thought Lodi has one of the best sashimi/sushi restaurants.
Order Brussels sprouts, spicy edamame, deep fried gyoza, bento box with sesame chicken and tempura, flaming dragon roll and smokey peyton all was delicious, only complaint would be the tempura batter was way too thick and music was way too loud! Service was excellent, friendly atmosphere and very clean! Would definitely go again!

Best sushi in town! The scallop shooters are delicious. The tuna nigiri trio is a must have. Highly recommended.
Fresh sushi with a modern vibe in downtown Lodi, M sushi bistro is a hidden gem. Every dish comes magazine-cover ready with visual appeal that tastes as good as it looks. The most popular roll is The M, which has crab salad, spicy tuna, cucumber, and panko shrimp ($25 for 8 pieces). The spice is good, but not too much, with layers of flavor and heat provided by seven spice tuna, sweet chili sauce, and spicy cream in the roll. Friendly staff and fast service rounds out the experience. Great stop after a day visiting the vineyards.
Pretty good had a great first time but my second time was alrighg. Im about 90% sure they served me bad crab rolls. My server said sombody else complained about the taste that night and I literally sat on the toilet for 3 hours later that night..
Food is good. Service way below what everyone says it is. Had a issue and discussed with the manager, and just couldnt get it diffused. Seems like servers and the manger just keep playing games. Oh well. They just lost a family of businesses.

This place surprised me both in the super delicious food and the trendy modern vibe. I grew up with the original mikuni location and that was where I learned to appreciate sushi. Needless to say I do not suffer cut rate sushi. This will be our new special occasion place.

Dear lord help me! I just ate at the M Sushi Bistro and I have never felt WORSE. My stomach is so upset. I ate the New York Steak Tataki and some of my Spicy Miso Ramen . The tataki was small yet flavorful but something tasted way off with the Ramen, I left most of the plate. I figured it was the bok choy but clearly it wasnt. I cant even say the dish was worth it. Yup, im never going back🤢😵

We arrived first amongst 4 other tables, yet, everyone around us go their food first and left. We asked the waiter how long our food was going to be, and all she said was we go in order which obviously is not correct. This restaurant waisted 2 hours of our time. Ridiculous.

Truly melt in your mouth sushi.Totally worth the 45 minute drive and worth every single penny. This wasnt our first time here and it definitely wont be the last!

2023-11-26 00:12:31My fiance and I were just stopping through Lodi and decided to have lunch here. And were so glad we did! Sushi is our favorite food, and Sushi Bistro did not disappoint. My fiance got a nigiri platter and I got a couple specialty rolls and it was all A+ quality, from service, to presentation, to taste. I only wish we lived nearby, because we would come here on the regular!

Their rolls are loaded with toppings which we love. By far the b.e.s.t sushi restaurant in the valley! Amazing food, awesome service and atmosphere.

2022-06-19 05:09:30Delicious, beautiful, great service, good service pace, nice touch with the cucumber in the water. Impressed with the roll especially for PREGNANT PEOPLE!! Super cool. 2 opportunities to improve: temp control near the front of the store on the warm days is poor. Its hot in there! Also, the table stain/ clear coat is getting tacky to the touch so they need to be stripped and redone--our shirt elbows and napkins are sticking and it feels kinda yucky, but theres no amount of wiping them that will help.

We ordered the The Crunch and Munch, The Hudson Delight, The Biggie, The M, and for appetizers we had the Gyoza and Oysters.Everything was amazing. I really recommend the M and Hudson Delight. The waitress was awesome. Left her a big tip for service.This is officially my favorite sushi restaurant in California.
