I finally got around to trying this Downtown Santa Rosa institution and Im so happy I did. The food (pastrami with swiss sandwich) was absolutely delicious. Definitely my new favorite version of this sandwich. The man helping me was super friendly and courteous. And I really like the atmosphere even though I was getting take out. Im looking forward to going back to Macs more regularly and coming in to enjoy dining in as well. Also, thank you for your sponsorship of Red Peloton bike racing team of which Im a member.

As I entered I was quickly greeted and sat and a neatly set table, the waitress was very kind and quickly brought us drinks. Our food came in a very timely manner and it’s was cooked WELL. I’m a big fan of corned beef for breakfast so I like to try it everywhere. You can tell it’s cooked fresh here and not from a can. As we were eating she was attentive and brought us the check before we were done. The reason I mention this is because I love being able to pay prior to being finished eating. I think it’s so convenient to be done with the bill and then be able to just get up and go versus waiting around for the bill. I really enjoyed this restaurant and I think the run it very well.

We had a very tasty lunch 😋! I enjoyed the Turkey Noodle Soup and Pastrami sandwich. Its very fresh and delicious. Ordered the Club Sandwich meal also Bacon Cheeseburger with Onion Rings. Both were fresh and flavourful! Well definitely be back to try the breakfast menu.

Walking into this place you would think a plate costs 30$ and up...But nope.. super cute and classy.Me and my boyfriends bill was only 24 bucks all together!His sandwich was huge and the waffle was so tasty I even took some home! The girls up front were so nice and helpful because we didnt know what was good and they had amazing suggestions. Will be coming here again!

Seriously, the best pastrami sandwich in California is here at Macs in downtown Santa Rosa. Very friendly, efficient service and Macs does both dine in and take away service.The menu is quite diverse. But oh my, that pastrami sandwich (Id recommend having it steamed)! A hidden gem - walkable from Railroad Square and the SMART train station. WOW.

Lunch time is crowded and you can expect a short wait which confirms the experience is worth waiting for. Closest thing to a true deli in Sonoma County. Extensive sandwich menu, breakfast all day and great side dishes. Service is quick but sometimes inattentive. Portions are BIG and easily enough to take some home for later. Pastrami is thin sliced and packed with smoky flavor. French Dip is served with a generous bowl of au jus for dipping. French fries are crispy and fresh out of the fryer. Highly recommend for an old school experience that does not disappoint.

Macs is the heart of Santa Rosa!My sister took me here for lunch. she was craving the egg salad sandwich and the potato salad.. that she doubled up on and took home. I of course had the half soup/ half salad. That filled me up! their portions are ginormous! The food is absolutely to die for..... Each bite is mouth watering and you just cant put it down!( you just cant.) Even my raspberry tea was perfect! the service was impeccable. Located right downtown and right next to a parking lot... you cant beat it. Perfect location!

Im a stickler for presentation. And the food was as good as it looks! Not to mention the music selection was fantastic! Macs is in a small arty mostly caucasian town in Cali. Met with an old friend after 20 years to catch up. She chose Macs because she uses a walker and knew the entrance is flat and aisle is wide enough to pass with ease. Menu has numerous items...everything a deli should have, and very reasonably priced. Portions are large, substitutions are allowed, and our server was so friendly. Wish I had known about Macs a long time ago. Will definitely go back.

Caution— offensive odor of raw sewage permeates this location. The server explained it was a “main pipe in the wall”. I should not have stayed to eat, but I was starving. Food and staff are 5stars, but the environment is awful. STRONGLY recommend avoiding this restaurant until the plumbing/ventilation are repaired. After repairs, then strongly recommend 👍.

My partner and I visited Macs for the first time because we were craving a good pastrami sandwich and it did not disappoint! The wait staff is friendly and attentive when the restaurant is busy. Breakfast here is awesome, I had the corned beef hash as well and I eat that at a lot of different places. The one was just a side but it was really above and beyond, it was really flavorful and well cooked. What really makes this place is the staff, they say there has been the same ownership since the 70s, and it really shows. The vibe was that of sincere care. An excellent experience to say the least.

My wife, Joni, had been to Macs before and told me it was good and we should stop in for lunch.What she didnt mention was that Macs was an OUTSTANDING deli!From the outside, it appears as a little hole-in-wall. Well, it is.Inside, it was clean, bright, friendly(!) staff, and *great* food!We went at lunchtime and the place was packed with locals! Business people and neighbors alike. Darn it, they wanted great food(!).We waited about 7 minutes for a counter seat. Gosh, we could see all the action! Lots of fun!I had a grilled pastrami (for a little crispiness) with sweet potato fries which we shared. Joni also had pastrami, heated, but not grilled. Both were delicious and tender!Owner Lisa, was a server among several others and stopped by to say hi, while hubby, Toraj (spelling?), handled the chef duties in the kitchen. They make a fine team!Lunch was excellent. My only regret I didnt have enough room for breakfast! Yes, they serve that too! All day.

Eat here as often as you can. The people are amazing and kind, the food is fresh and incredible (and very reasonably priced considering being almost in the center of downtown), and their ability to remain consistent throughout the pandemic is commendable. Impression: Serving since 1952, food must be good quality and good service and price.Came in for breakfast, we asked for warm water with lemon but served with iced water.Took some time to order, finally agreed on stack of pancake and vegetarian omelette and extra italian sausage. Our food came out after 15 minutes. Pancake - moist, creamy and delicious with bits of fresh, sweet strawberry and blueberries. Omelette - delectable. I could taste the freshness of eggs and vegetables are still crunchy with a little taste of sweetness.Food over all is great experience, worth the price.Service could be improved. But one thing commendable in this place is the friendliness of the staff to people who could be patrons of this restaurant for years.Ambiance of the place is very cozy with neutral color; the bathroom door needs cleaning.

I was searching for an American eatery and finally found this GREAT PLACE which opened back in 1952 (was told by waitress) in which I didnt know until today. Ordered Ruben sandwich with potato salad were really fresh and excellently prepared, my sister ordered bacon, eggs and hashbrown and white toast again everything were cooked and prepared just perfect. I have not eaten this good breakfast and lunch menus for a loooong time.Highly recommend Macs for quality food, friendly services and most of all very reasonable menu prices.12/13/2021; Second visit to Macs since last visit was so good but today it was not so good.Ordered french dip with potato salad and was not traditional french dip and potato salad were couple days old. Was disappointed. Rated 5-stars last week but dropped to 2-stars. Only good thing were friendly waitress with smiles.

This is a nice spot near Courthouse Square. It has been around for a while, which speaks to the great service and good food that they provide.Service: Prompt and courteous. They were around often to offer refills on water, coffee, and ask how the food was. Food came out of the kitchen together, and within 10 minutes of ordering (10AM on a Saturday.)Food: I ordered the Corned Beef Hash with Scrambled Eggs. The hash was really good. Full of flavor, cooked to order, and not burned at all. The scrambled eggs were also fresh, warm, and cooked consistently.Oh, the coffee was on point. It didnt taste like Truck Stop brake fluid brand coffee. It had flavor, but not the kind of flavor that wakes you up due to your tastebuds wanting to end things over your choices. Great for a cafe coffee.Ill be adding this place to the breakfast rotation. I just wish I had seen the Biscuits and Gravy they had for the special. That is my benchmark, and a personal favorite. I guess Ill have to get that next time.

First impressions are kinda a big deal. We were sat next to the bathroom where unfortunately we experienced a putrid urine smell. I noticed the door to the restroom was opened and went to close it. A little better after that. Next we were served our coffee and water. The water tasted like bleach and the coffee seriously tasted off. We were quite concerned for the meal that was coming. I was craving a Reuben sandwich, and I knew where to find it. Mac’s Deli is my go-to place for Reuben sandwiches. Talk about authentic. I ordered a side salad with it. My salad was not just lettuce and tomato, it had sliced beets, green beans, peas, carrots bell peppers and many other veggies. I know when I go to Mac’s, I will be getting two meals worth of food for the price of one. Great place!

We were looking for a breakfast/lunch place, and one of the other local restaurants recommended Macs. Breakfast was awesome - I had a veggie omelette, and had them hold the toast and potatoes. They gladly substituted fresh fruit for me. The omelette was huge and I sure didnt need the extra potatoes or toast. My son had Joes Special and said it was very good. He did have toast with his, but they substituted fruit for the potatoes. Service was great, coffee is good, price is reasonable - especially for the amount of food you get.

One of the very best Deli/Cafés in Sonoma County. I have never ordered anything from their menu that didnt turn out to be one of the finest executions of the dish I have ever been served. Heres a recommendation -- They serve the absolute BEST SANDWICH IN THE WORLD: No. 39 on their menu (Pastrami and Egg Salad). Try it. If you dont like it, ship it to me …and see an otolaryngologist (about those malfunctioning taste buds). Seriously, even if you hate pastrami or are allergic to eggs, you WILL find a host of other temptations on their menu that you will love.

Didn’t even get a chance to order. Waitress was so rude and seemed to be mad we were even there. When I asked for a menu to order to go she straight up ignored me. How embarrassing for a business. Food might be good but I wouldn’t know because the service was so bad we left.

If you expect big city deli food prepare for disappointment. While the prices are not bad, the chopped liver was frozen from San Fran, and the Corned Beef on rye was not so great. If you need a sandwich before a movie its OK but they could do so much more.

My favorite breakfast and lunch spot in Santa Rosa! I have frequented Macs since the 1970s......my dad would take me when I was a teenager before I could drive. The Soltani family owned it back then and it continues to be run by the second generation in the capable hands of Toraj and Lisa.Go, you will not be disappointed!

Im a 57 year old that has traveled a lot around the world. My current job is a tour guide in the western United States and Europe. We happened to stop at Macs on our personal vacation from Bodega Bay to Calistoga for breakfast. Macs was recommended to us by a local and I must say that it was by far the best breakfast I have ever had. You could tell that the ingredients in the Denver omelet and hash browns were fresh and cooked to perfection. It did take a while to get coffee refills and was a little pricey, $30 for two people, but was well worth it. For me, it was one of my high lights of our vacation. I only wish that I could find a similar place here in Cincinnati.Ed

Closed Sundays. Best sit down Kosher Style Restaurant ever! Great breakfast selections with Benedicts and Omelettes. (my favorite is the Denver Omelette. I swap the cheddar with american cheese). Pancakes and waffles too, served until 4:30. Sandwich selection to die for with over 47 (ever had a hankerin for chopped chicken liver or sardine sandwich?)
