We visited Magnolia Bistro under new ownership. My first thought was that the atmosphere felt different, and it looked different. It is plain and has no style (it was amazing before). As we set down the waitress mentioned the new owners will be there at the bar. We thought that was great since they will be involved with the customers. They were welcoming only to selected customers. Im guessing the ones they knew since they checked in and chatted with our neighbor table multiple times, but they never check in at our table. The waitress even forgot the drinks we had asked for. Service lacked, we were told they are no longer doing wine flights 😔 and the wine selection is different from the ones offered in the past. Magnolia Bistro was one of my favorite spots, and Im truly sad to have had this experience.

Excellent selection if wines. Staff was knowledgeable and courteous. Setting was provincial French meets American cafe. Food was well seasoned including vegetarian items. Overall excellent experience.

Love this place. Casual atmosphere. The food was amazing! Unusual pairings but it was delicious. Would be great for a casual date night, do a little wine tasting, etc

Love this place!A quaint little Claremont gem, romantically lit and automatically the most romantic scene -- candles, fresh flowers in vases. A small tapas wine bar, adorned with countless variety of imported wine bottles ready to crack open. The server who I assume to be the owner served me and, to my delight, gave me a generous amount of rosé to start while my friend got a deep red.My go-to wine bar hands down.

Fantastic, dining experience. I will be back with my family this summer. I had the candied walnuts and beetroot salad with goat cheese after enjoying the garlic shrimp. Unsweetened iced tea. Topped it all off. Next time I will have to try dessert. Great to know about this hidden gem.

Hosted our daughter’s 21st birthday party here. Excellent experience. Food, ambience in the private room, and service were all pluses. A good value for a large private room compared to some other restaurants in Claremont.

Good food at the right price point in general. Taste and presentation was on point. The servers were fine. The only real issue is the ambiance. Seriously, what is with the decor? I get that they are trying to sell a few wares (already not a good idea), but why make it look like you’re visiting a great grandparent? At the very least be consistent and follow through. If you’re going for that now outdated rustic look, then go all the way. Right now it looks like someone converted a bad thrift store into a cafe, but decided to try and make a few bucks by peddling leftover merchandise. Basically, the opposite of all the restaurants in the village; i.e., pretty decent food without the pretentiousness. Only they’ve taken it to the point where it looks like there’s either a lack of self awareness or pride.

The wine selection here is awesome! Gloria and Melinda are awesome! Helped me selecting a great wine! Plus, the food is amazing!! Need to check it out of youre in town!!

Adorable space to enjoy some great wines, beer, sangria, and food. Wonderful service, and phenomenal happy hour.

Absolutely amazing. From the decorations to the cherry bread pudding for dessert. From the front of house with Gloria to the back with Fransisco everything was absolutely amazing.
