One of my favorite Seal Beach restaurants. We brought our house guests tonight for their last meal before flying home. Wanted some place with lots of options, great ambiance and good cocktails. Nailed it!We started with some sushi before ordering our main meals. The Queen roll was delicious. I love the soy paper versus seaweed! The sashimi was also tasty.For my meal I god the ahi with garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus. I wish it wasn’t the fat asparagus. I like the thinner ones best.Hubby got the blackened swordfish. I loved it but he didn’t care that much for sauce.Can’t go wrong with crème brûlée for dinner.Need to go here more often. They’ve got tons of choices and many I need to try!

I went to Happy Hour. First time ever at this restaurant. My friend took us to the bar which is in the back of the restaurant. I bit dark but there were planty of screens airing different sporting events. The Happy Hour selection is limited but nice. The sushi comes out pretty fast. The fish so so fresh! The drinks are powerfully good. Our server was amazing! Always had a smile and ready to accommodate. I will be back!

Good service, great food, would go again. Artichoke was ok, but I dont really understand artichoke. The Mahe Mahi was great, great texture, not overcooked, just perfectly cooked. The Cha Pe No was amazing and filling. My only critique would be the crab in the Cha Pe No was a little too salty, but not sure if they could do anything about that or thats just the crab naturally is. Service was good, staff was attentive. We had to wait 30 minutes to sit down so I recommend getting a reservation. Great for a date night.

Larry is the man! Fantastic service for a party of 16. The food was incredible, notably the clam chowder, sushi, and surf n chips. Ask for fresh wasabi if you wanna clear your sinuses. The drinks were very strong so if you’re looking for a buzz, this is the spot. They also have a bar in the back. Thank you for taking care of us Larry!

Mothers Day at Mahe with my son? Perfect! Relaxed atmosphere, terrific wonderfully prepared courses and amazing service (Skylar was our server and never missed a beat). We enjoyed oysters, coconut shrimp, watermelon and beet salad, cioppino, blackened swordfish and ended with creme brulee. Wow!

Went for Mothers Day and was left severely disappointed. The menu is really hit or miss. The French Dip sandwich was excellent but the sushi leaves a lot to be desired. The fish was often overpowered but the other ingredients instead of complimenting the flavor. Overpriced for what you get. My recommendation is to stick to the entrees. The service was awful. The servers often huddled around the kitchen area so service was very slow. They seemed annoyed when you would ask them a question. The food also came at very very different times. The kitchen didnt do a great job of timing the dishes. Maybe they just had an off day because the other reviews are pretty positive. I however wont come back and would not recommend it. Plus side theu have a parking lot.

Excellent sushi and other seafood. Maybe a bit Tuna centric but really worth trying other choices on the menu. Create a main with multiple sashimi starters or mix from a long list. Ousters “Mahé” stile are excellent and worthy of being tried. One of the rare places you can find cult followings worthy Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc that complements the seafood perfectly.

Enjoyed it immensely! Dinner with friends, and had the sushi sampler. Highly recommend the Jefe roll. Each item was light and fresh. Someone else ordered the filet mignon, which is definitely on my list to try on my next visit. While its not a large place, it didnt feel crowded or rushed, which was great after a long day. The service was great, although Ill leave the last star for future visits.

Ive lived in Long Beach my whole life and had always wanted to try this place. Its a great place for a date night.I highly recommend the Tataki Wraps And the Filet Mignon - Nates Style. Everything was beyond delicious and the service was awesome.

What I liked most was the creativity of the chef! What a fusion!!! The signature roll was really good and different! I was thinking of trying Jackie chan but was just too full already! I guess if you want all-you-can-eat, this is a great place! A key to success - creativity. Looking forward to their next creation! If you haven’t tried this restaurant, time to give it a try! I know our reservation was at 6 pm on a Saturday night, and we were a party oh 8, but the service was slooow.They were having a problem with your a new fryer. My fish andI shrimp were good, but not great. The fries were undercooked and tasteless. Dessert was good, but what seemed like 30 minutes to arrive.Not impressed with what I got for the price I paidOh yeah, we were there for a total of two hours from being seated to the time we finished dessert. Sad.

Great food, great service... The acoustics or something are terrible, though. the overall noise is deafening. It doesnt match the otherwise calm ambience. We seriously considered leaving after drinks but moved to the bar. Staff and food were all amazing.

What used to be an excellent restaurant with has turned into an establishment I will no longer patron. Although the staff are kind and attentive, they allowed a baby in the bar area. To make matters even worse, the baby was sick with a runny nose, and screamed incessantly. The parents were not masked upon entering and were drinking while the baby was in a stroller. I am absolutely appalled that this was not only acceptable but there was zero recognition of the inappropriateness of the situation. PLEASE AVOID for your health & safety.

When I go to a sushi restaurant, I expect brewed green tea, not hot water and a tea bag, but that’s just my expectation. The service was great, except that we asked the server to pace the sushi orders so that we wouldn’t get them all at once. Well, we got them all at once. Otherwise, it was a great evening and we left full and happy.

The coconut shrimp I cant complain about because it was great and because of that great appetizer I ordered the tomahawk steak but it was by far the worst steak I’ve ever had it was squishy and sweet and steak should not be sweet. It was $100 and my girlfriend and I hated it. I would not recommend this place as steak should be savory not sweet

Good food but not great, ordered the Crunch Roll(best of the bunch, tasty), Lobster Roll( just so,so not a big fan as it was a bit dry) and the Filet done in their syle,roasted in bacon and blue cheese (taste was not too appealing,could be a personal view. Meat was not very tender), in all fairness we split this plate and they cut it in half so that could be the why.Service was excellent!

Ive eaten here numerous times.... Everything from the sushi to the menu items and I havent had anything that I wouldnt order again. Each time I go back I order something new. Im completely torn: the food was absolutely delicious but the service was terrible and I had a reaction to some of the fish I ate. I eat sushi often and didnt try anything out of the ordinary but we had a variety of different fish (rolls and sashimi sampler) so I cant pinpoint what caused my heart rate to double over night, slight fever, and swollen fingers. Also, we sat down at the same time as 3 other couples and all of them received their food before our food order was taken. We had the sushi list ready for 45 mins with drinks completely gone. I hate leaving negative reviews but we really had a bad experience here and probably wont come back.

Celebrated my sons 49th BD here. There were 8 of us and everyone thought the food was great, no complaints. I had the stuffed Chicken breast, personally not a big fish fan, it was excellent, I would go back just for that. I wish I would have snapped a picture of my plate, the presentation was superb, my compliments to the chef. The service was very good and the staff was very friendly.

Great atmosphere. Unparalleled service. Terrific food. Our waitress, Megan, was very friendly, attentive and offered excellent suggestions. Ask for the salmon/tuna baked roll. I dont think it was listed on the menu. About $14. It was our favorite item.They do not have steak fried rice (only served at the Dana Point location) but I liked the traditional atmosphere at the Seal Beach location much better. Seemed cozier and a little bit friendlier. Both are great restaurants!

And hey, dont be afraid to try the Burger, if youre a sushi place and you have a burger you better make sure its incredible...it is.

Fantastic place for top quality seafood and sushi. The restaurant has three separate areas inside. A nice sushi bar as you walk in. An inviting dining area, and a separate room with a fun full service, bar serving dishes from the restaurant. First they asked if I was from Doordash, then they asked me what I would like to order, but did not provide me the menu 🤷🏼, I had to ask for it. If youre looking for a meal order the blackened swordfish and if you want sushi Ive never had better. I indulged on 5 different sushi dishes last visit and every single one had its own unique flavor. This was my first time back in a long time. The two things I remembered liking was the Cabo roll which is a steak roll with avocado and Pico and the ice cream cone sushi. I got both again and it was just as good as the first time. We tried the swordfish and it was really good I recommend. Get the Brookie or creme Brulee for dessert you cant go wrong either way. The only reason for the 4 stars is due to the slow service when we were one of the only few tables there. We had to cancel our order of asapagas fries because we had already finished our main course. But the waiter himself was great and very knowledgeable with the menu.

The new interior was really amazing and matched our dining experience with our server, Bri who also happens to run their Instagram account. Seared Ahi Tuna was excellent. Fresh, just the right amount of sear, reasonably generous portion. Service was perfect; attentive, professional. Theres a reason MaHe has been around for years & years when so many restaurants close after just a few years. We went to Mahé for the first time on New Years Eve and it was phenomenal. First there was no wait... we ate at the bar, I dunno how long people wanting tables were waiting. Actually it was my first time ever sitting at the bar of any sushi restaurant.Our server, Whitney, was on top of things and her suggestions were top notch. We kept ordering like it was the all you can eat, everything was soooo good here. The Parmesan Scallops and Albacore were the best. All of the sushi was beyond my expectations. I will definitely be going back for the all you can eat for $25 deal.When we go again I will definitely be sitting at the bar and ordering Omakase. It will be interesting to see what they can come up with.This is my new favourite sushi place.Also, thinking back there did seem to be alot of cougars there. Fortunately I was with someone, so I was not pounced upon.

I havent eaten atwhat used to be the Glideer Inn for years, but I still wanted to write a review. I was 14, wearing a new green boucle sweater suit and my adoptive mother took us to the Glideer Inn. That was in 1976. Oh, the very interior of the restaurant was so delightful! It was raining, and my adoptive mother told us of a very different Glideer Inn. One of a prohibition gin joint with an oyster bar, which I got to see. My adoptive mother was 55 when I was born and she said she used to go to the Glideer Inn just for a gin! So, while today it is sushi, do order a gin for Odette and keep an historic culinary institution real.
