Yummy, yummy, yummy sushi! Great location for a quick snacky-snack in Huntington Beach just off Main Street. Highly recommend the calamari and any of their beautiful rolls. 🍣 Everything is served up by and a delightful and accommodating staff!

Very yummy noodles with chicken, and excellent service. I’m glad they put the nuts on the side. I’ll be back, and very soon!I went back a few weeks later and I had the same dish, but also the vanilla ice cream with fried bananas, which was also super yummy! I’ve never had that before! Again, wonderful, friendly service!

Clean, comfortable and peaceful. I had seafood soup and it was very delicious, just what I needed after a day on the road. The staff was very attentive and considerate, choosing a seat for me with a spot for my luggage. Will definitely come back.

A good Thai food to warm my day and belly!!! 😋I just step in this new restaurant call Mah Kin.They just open recently 4 month ago and I was very happy to find a cool restaurant on Downtown Huntington Beach.🗣I spoke with the owner and I was telling him, how good his food was.👥My friend and I enjoy a lot this restaurant.Nice service as well.🤵🏻‍♀️The waitress was very knowledgeable and friendly. Her name is Melinda. I really enjoy engage with her. Almost the time, she was checking on us. Making sure we had what we ask. Etc…🥗What I eat on my visit - Papaya Salad with blue crab and wild. For entree I ate coconutshrimp soup.🍵This soup is fenomenal and very taste. They add those tiny mushrooms 🍄 white.?!5⭐️- The soup was in my opinion the top 5 extra plus.👴🏻My friend ate L- vegetable delight FH fancy name for CHICKEN WITH TERIYAKI SAUCE /VEGETABLE AND SALAD 😂👍🏻🍶I drink Nigori sake unfiltered - very cloudy ☁️Very delicious but if you don’t drive. ⚠️The bottle was so cute I ask with after I drink if I can have the empty bottle.🧻🚽The bathroom was very nice and clean. Great service and original menu along with the usual Thai and Japanese flare. The location is a block off the Main St attractions and crowds. Worth a stop in but expect to pay top dollar. Typical price on a specialty roll is $17 - $19.My son loved the Thai noodles and added large shrimp for an up charge. Overall, nice but Im having trouble justifying their prices other than location.

My husband and I been regulars since the day they opened. We ordered the $39 sashimi platter fit for 2 people, I was taken back when they bring out only 1 miso soup, ridiculous, if anything as regulars bring 2 it’s the cheapest item on the menu and actual cost for them can’t be more than a dime. I did say something and ordered 1 more only to be treated aggressively. Miso soup is complimentary at Sushi on Fire and Shabu on fire. No thanks, never returning. What happened to local appreciation as regulars

When I say this place was life changing, I mean it. The sushi here was the best I have eaten in my life! Miso soup? Amazing. The spicy yellowtail roll? Unlike anything I’ve experienced anywhere else. I cannot stress this enough, if you have the chance to go here. Go! No hesitation!

This is the perfect restaurant for both sushi and Thai food!! The fish is so fresh and their rolls are delicious and unique. The staff is kind and the food came out pretty quick! I recommend the mango green tea - it is SO GOOD!Their prices are a bit higher than other sushi places I’ve been, but considering they are right by the ocean and provide super fresh fish, it’s worth it.

My husband and I truly had an amazing time here. We were greeted with friendly smiles and energy. The restaurant is extremely clean and is styled very nicely. The owners of the restaurant definitely left a huge impression with us! They greeted themselves and made us feel so extremely welcomed we will definitely be back! We ordered the 303 and Spyder sushi rolls along with crab fried rice (they use real crab) LITERALLY the BEST crab rice I have had in a long time!!! The rolls were delicious and I seriously want to find out about that Mango green tea recipe because I’m still craving it!

Mahkin Sushi 🍣 has a great selection of sushi and Thai cuisine. E.K. the owner, is very helpful and hospitable, taking care of us during our early dinner. The sushi was very fresh and tasty, E.K. personally shops for the fish to ensure freshness. Mahkin is located across from the parking structure in downtown HB and has just recently opened. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND MAHKIN for sushi and Thai cuisine whenever you are in downtown Huntington Beach. We had albacore, salmon and yellowtail nigiri sushi along with amaebi, baked salmon roll and baked mussels. Everything was delicious. Thank you, E.K. and staff for the awesome food!

Visiting from out of town. Was bummed out that one of my favorite poke spots closed half hour early so we decided to come here. Easily one of the best Pad Tai I’ve tried so far. Sushi was also amazing!!! We will definitely be coming back annually lord willing. Owner is also super cool and cares a lot about his business.

Great Thai food and friendly service!But stick with the Thai food. The shrimp on the shrimp and vegetables tempura were skinny shrimp, The vegetables were breaded 2 inch long, skinny green beans. Basically, the shrimp and vegetables were too small for tempura, and the panko breading was too crispy and thick.Be aware - there is no ripe yellow papaya on the papaya salad. It’s being raved about in the reviews but it is an acquired taste.Rather than lettuce, or a ripe papaya, the basic salad looks & tastes more like shredded turnips. The restaurant needs to give American guests who are unaware of this Asian tradition, a heads-up this is shredded unripened papaya, that most Americans don’t really care for, and also that the salad is spicier than most Americans are expecting.The red curry, and the Philadelphia, rolls, and the Pad Thai were delicious!

For the price, the servings are very small and they charge you extra for rice with meals that normally come with it at other Thai restaurants. Got the curry and it didnt come with rice??? It was a small serving of liquid with a small amount of meet and vegetables. Very disjointed for the price.

The restaurant wasnt too packed, and service was quick and the servers were attentive. I got the duck curry, it was a bit too sweet for my taste with a spicy level of 6. It was also very creamy from the coconut milk, and personally for me lacked that red curry kick. Id definitely give it another try though.

This place has been open for a little over a year and I finally had a chance to stop in today for lunch. The food was amazing. I loved the menu with Thai food on one side and the sushi selections on the other! We had the spicy girl roll, Las Vegas roll and the Apple trout. Everything was super yummy and the timing that it arrived at the table was perfect!The service here is fantastic, the staff are fast and friendly and have great menu recommendations. If you havent been here yet, you should definitely stop in. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Excellent food and excellent customer service. I would recommend you order Crispy ribs and Thai Bbq Chicken. For dessert they have the mango with sticky rice. It’s less than a mile from the beach. The parking could be in the street and it is metered. The place is in front of parking structure which is free for the first 90 minutes.The place was clean and the food came in less than 10 minutes.

Took my wife for our first dinner as a married couple last week and we were extremely satisfied with the food and service. The sushi was very fresh and tasted amazing. They have all the basic rolls as well as some premium items. Pricing was not more than what we are used to paying but food was better quality. We ended up bringing our 2 y/o daughters for their bday lunch a couple days later. Lunch was just as good as our dinner.I highly recommend this spot.

FANTASTIC new spot! We had a group of six, so between us we experienced a good mix of appetizers, sushi, and entrees. All were absolutely delicious, high quality, and good portions. The service was friendly, welcoming, and fast.One lady, maybe the owner, took the time to ask us about our meal when we were done, and explained finer points of their process. She was proud of the way they make their Pad Thai, which includes mixing the ingredients to order, rather than in a big batch that lasts for days like many restaurants. You can really taste the difference.They had a really rough time getting started through the COVID shutdown, and theyre working hard to make up for lost time and revenue - so go support this independent, local business! They deserve to thrive, and selfishly, I want them around for a long time so I can eat MORE of their delicious food!

An absolute must if you enjoy Thai food! We enjoy traveling a lot and try to visit as many different places to eat as we can. This place has instantly become a new must stop each time we come to Huntington Beach to visit family.There are a couple of other Thia restaurants in the immediate area, but the fresh look and feel of this place puts it over the top. You can tell the restaurant is family owned.The establishment is clean, open and inviting.I placed a huge order to go. Got home and it’s 100% correct and all there. I had a couple special requests on some of the meats which they did.The Sushi is the best in Huntington Beach. Fresh and delicious. The different noodle plates were bursting with flavor. I found this place by looking for best sushi near me this Friday evening hoping for a great meal to end the week. It was the 1st restaurant that showed up organically in Yelp which was the #1 result Google deemed as a proper website result for this search.Well...I ordered 3 dishes. I was hoping maybe I could use one for tomorrow to save a trip going out and getting more food. I got their spicy crunchy roll, their pad thai with chicken and pineapple fried rice (with beef) -- I know, youre thinking pineapple in fried rice!? Well, youre probably in the same group who thinks pineapple doesnt belong on pizza. So, well save that debate for some reddit thread.I was famished. It was early, but I was hoping for a very filling dinner. So, I was going to eat 2 of these tonight. I dove into the roll first hoping for something light, but hopefully tasty.Well...It was ok. Ive had better. Honestly, its just a tad better than supermarket sushi and it made me wonder why google is so bad (and yelp as well) at giving us results of places that possibly dont belong at the top. This place got 271 perfect 5 star reviews on yelp.The place is nice -- the ambience appeared great. The location is pretty awesome -- close to the beach. The people were very friendly and the service was good. It was exactly on time as they said.However, the most important thing is taste and the food. Unfortunately, its not at the top of what I had.I finished it off pretty quickly - the roll, that is -- and opened up the pad thai. I was surprised. The portion was quite small. I dont know if its inflation even tho the prices were close to what Im seeing these days for individual take out dishes, but I was sad that I might not be as full as I had hoped.And then I took a bite...It smelled and tasted a tad off. I think it tasted like the grounded peanuts in a bad way, but I couldnt tell. There was a bad smell to it like too much fish or oyster sauce. Regardless, it wasnt even like almost every pad thai dish Ive ever ordered from the hundreds of thai restaurants Ive eaten at over the years. Ill be able to finish it off, but I wish it could have been at least standard.Im hoping the fried rice impresses me tomorrow. If so, Ill come back and edit this.OK, small update: I did like the fried rice. It was the best of the 3 dishes. However, again, the portion was so small. I literally gulped it down in a few bites. I hope for future customers sakes that they increase the sizes. Then again, theyve been o.k. on Yelp for quite a while so this might not happen.I hate to write anything critical, but hopefully, this helps them maintain their glowing reviews and hopefully, it makes other future experiences better.

I dont leave 3 star reviews, its either that I loved it, or I absolutely think a place should be shut down. I leave either 1 star or 5 star.Customer service:If I could give this place a 10 star, I would. The staff is the most welcoming and engaging that Ive ever experienced. The sushi chefs are phenomenal, they talk and laugh with you. Many other places are just there to make your dish, this place understands customer service. Its very easy to connect with people in this restaurant. At one point, it was last call, a customer asks how long until she cant order anymore. The chef goes, Ill give you ten seconds.. 10.. 9.. 8.. we all started laughing lol, knowing that he was just joking.One other time, a customer asked what is good there and what they should try, one chef says, We have baby seal if youd like to try. The whole bar started cracking up (again knowing its a joke.......). Its places like this, that bring people together for the better.It is a family owned restaurant and they do their absolute best. The restaurant is not too big, but it is warm and always smells amazing, doesnt get too loud, and I believe that the size it just perfect. Any bigger and it wouldnt be the same environment, any smaller and again, it wouldnt be the same.If youre looking for a place to have a great, fun time and talk to people, this is the place. The sushi bar seats 6 people. The staff are always walking around, so it is not difficult to wave someone down and ask for something. They are always right on it and will get what you need with pleasure. Anyways.... I could go on and on about how I love their service.Food:WARNING: THIS IS AUTHENTIC THAI FOOD, AS THE NAME OF THE RESTAURANT STATES.Some people, man, they dont understand that thai style tends to be very spicy..Its like getting mad at an authentic Mexican restaurant for putting jalapeños in your dish when you asked for it to be authentic and spicy. So I have an idea of what its supposed to taste like. Ive gone to many Thai restaurants and this one is by far my favorite. Many other restaurants aim to please the Americans by making everything much sweeter. This is not the case here. If you want Thai style, this is your place, (of course you can always ask them to tone it down a notch, or make it not spicy at all. After all, you are the customer.)I ate the roasted duck salad, and the papaya salad with raw wild blue crab. One employee gave me a bowl of rice, but dared me to not eat it, to see if I could handle. I pulled through, but it took a while lol.The fish is all VERY fresh. Its like they just went fishing that day or something. When they make your sushi, they make it with love. Some sushi places ive gone to, just throw some things together and roll it up then serve it. Not this place. The sushi chefs know what theyre doing and take the time to perfect it. The rolls dont fall apart and are not filled with rice in order to fill you up.Again... I could go on and on, but this review is getting long and I think youd get the point by now. We ordered yellow curry but it comes out without rice. They charge $2 for the rice but it is really small size. We should order one more rice. They charged 18% gratuity including tax. So it was 20%.

I dont understand why this place has such great reviews. The papaya salad was so spicy, it was inedible. The Tom Kha had a total of two shrimps. The yellowtail cut roll was smaller than average and the seaweed was stale. So no, I definitely wont be back.

Incredibly delicious sushi and Thai! In tried the nigiri sushi as an appetizer and it’s the first time I’ve had something in CA that reminded me of Japan. The pad Thai has a ton of flavor! Highly recommend. Very personable and attentive staff. Will be back - a lot!

I have been traveling to Thailand for 22 years and own my own condo there. I am very familiar with authentic Thai food. I tend to not eat much Thai food in USA as I can not find good authentic Thai food here. This restaurant recently opened near my house in Huntington Beach so I am giving it a try. I decided to try the ka pao moo. A good Thai staple dish. I enjoy spicy food so I asked for it to be made Thai style. This was by far the best Thai food I have eaten in USA. If I closed my eyes I would believe I was in Bangkok eating at one of my favorite restaurants. I will Def be coming here many time while I wait to get back to Thailand.

Has a sewer flood next to our table in there, guy mopping up sewage next to our table our whole meal and it smelled like pine sol. The tall skinny lady was really rude to my gf when she got up to tell her about the problem, they didnt even offer discount or anything as they can see we are extremely annoyed, This place lacking basic management skills, sorry Ill go to a real sushi place next time they didnt even give me wasabi and ginger with my sushi, this place is overpriced for that.
