Very nice place on Whittier Blvd. Im sure this place is known for Sushi but I tried the Chicken Bowl and it was delicious 😋. A very healthy taste. Thanks for the nice service as well. Girl up front was very nice to me.

I just got the teriyaki chicken bowl and it was just ok, the chicken was a little rough but I still eat it because I was hungry. The menu is too overwhelming and I only like the outside patio because inside felt too cramped. I myself wouldn’t go back again but we all have different taste for the foods that we like, I usually try the most simplest of foods just to be fair but the food still wasn’t that tasty.

I have been going to Maki Yaki, Whittier, at the Quad for over 5 years. I supported them through the pandemic. However, today, I ordered a BBQ Salmon Salad and a Crunchy Shrimp Role that were VERY disappointing! Recently, their prices increased, but their portions became tiny. They now look like a childs plate. Unfortunately, I will no longer shop there. I am sharing their picture from their menu and the dinner I was served today (takeout).

We ordered a terayaki bowl, super maki combo and the chicken bento special. The Californian rolls were great and fresh, the tempura was crispy and crunchy as it should be. The chicken was juicy and flavorful. I will be coming back.

This was the absolute worse. Restaurants as a hole have rduced quality and portions. Soft shell crab was bits of fried crab parts terrible, tempura was soggy. I keep trying the quad location I am done too tired to even return food. I didnt eat any of it.

It was good, but the dinner area was warm and the service was okay. I prefer the location in uptown Whittier. I actually had a waitress who took your order at the table. This location takes your order at the register. Seemed more fast food style. I was expecting the same experience as the uptown location. They have a much better customer service process. I even remember my server from that location...Jules

I’ve ate here only once the food was alright. I even bought a Thai tea there. Did not like it. It was very water down. Try to go in a second time. Didn’t even get to order and they harassed me and my service animal. Was not very happy about it. Will not be going again. Especially, there was no sign saying anything about animals or even service ones. 👎🏻

First time eating here. We ordered to go and ate at the patio dining area. I was initially leary as the portion sizes seemed small, but was happy when I started eating. The roll slices were the perfect size for one bite eating and were not overstuffed with rice. The rolls were fresh and delicious. My friend and I got 3 rolls and two bottled drinks for $44. Will definitely vist again.

First off, I used to live in Whitter for about 4 years, near the Quad. I would frequent this place often and it was very good. We were in the area looking for food and decided to come here, since me and my Fiance wanted some sushi. The food was good, nothing more and nothing less. It hit the spot. Service though was a tad bit slow. Im not sure if there were new people working there, which is why it was so slow but either way it was fine. I would recommend this place but not if you want to get your food fast.Also the atmosphere isnt very normal for a Sushi restaurant. They should look into making it a bit nicer in there.

Poke ball very minimal protein I asked for the salmon, tuna and shrimp tempura but the salmon and tuna was a little pieces it is kind of expensive they should be a little bigger of the salmon and tuna pieces. I been to other places and the price is less and serve more and good quality of sea food.

I have to disagree with some of the other reviews. the food quality is not all that great, altho you get what you pay for and that is to say as with the food quality and the service too. At the time of my visit the lady taking orders at the front counter seamed as she did not understand English at all took a moment to be able to place our order correctly. Once we got our food that took quite a bit of time to be served, and finally got to eat it, we where almost out of time for us to go back to work. The place is a bit smaller than other locations with just a few tables to sit. Definitely not the best service and food quality experience you would expect from a chain restaurant as this

Most of these reviews are fake because they offer a free drink for 5stars. First time here was amazing! Went back for more, to be disappointed. Leaving food out of our orders, and the dynamite roll was missing ingredients! Felt ripped off and disappointed. Fifty dollars could get so much more elsewhere. Better luck next time!

The food is good at Maki Yaki, but the service makes it not worth it. They usually leave something out of the order so you had better check to make sure they got it right before they hand you the bag.I just paid for three meals and was given two in a tied up bag. When I got home I called, they Just laughed and said good bye.They were unwilling to make it up to me when I told them what happened.The service here is very odd. I will never go there again.

They have new young workers. The guy has curly hair not tied back. The other girl has long nails. Shes spraying cleaner on tables. The cleaner flying everywhere. I asked if I could substitute shrimp tempura with vegetable tempura on a Udon soup. I was told they could not accommodate. I requested to speak to management, whom was also the sushi chef. He made no eye contact, pointed to their menu and stated that I should order vegetable tempura. They would not accomadate me because they wanted to get an additional charge for my order.I was saving you money, since Im sure vegetables are cheaper than shrimp. We patronage your establishement because it is quick, economical and it is one of my daughters favorite places, but we will no longer patronage your establishment. Went for a late dinner with my wife she ordered sushi with cooked salmon and I order the big sample plate we both shared and she didnt want to eat the salmon so I did, unfortunately it was bad and gave me scombroid poisoning, Its been two days and can only keep fruits and veggies down heart rate is higher than normal this is upsetting because my family had came here and liked it, they need to check the food before cooking or they will not last long with this service
