Wow! We went in not really knowing what to expect, but we were pleasantly surprised! From the outside it just looks like a normal sushi joint, but they have an amazing atmosphere on the inside! Super cute theming. It looks like youve literally been transported to Japan. ❤️ How cozy!We did the ayce lunch and they gave us good portions of fish to rice. Some ayce places give you a lot of rice to fill you up, but this place didnt do that. :) The rolls with the ayce werent too big either so we were able to try a few out without getting overly stuffed!Looking forward to going back another time.

Im allergic to egg whites and therefore, mayo, which is what is in crab meat mix and yum-yum sauce. However the 10% of the menu I could eat was FANTASTIC. I knew I wouldnt be able to eat much before I walked in. Still, it was a very enjoyable all-you-can-eat dinner for me!

Went to this place tonight at 8:50 pm for a late dinner. They close at 10 pm so we thought it was plenty of time. Service was very slow and by the time we ordered desert it was 9:55 pm. We were still eating when a manager told us we are closed thank you and made us feel like we had to eat our food and leave with in 5 minutes. Spent $200 to be rushed out with my wife and 4 year old.Not going back again even though Im only a 5 minute walk from there.

Tomorrow, Friday, March 17, is my birthday, and my family gave me the surprise celebration in advance, we went to eat here, and as ALWAYS, EVERY DISH WAS DELICIOUS, THE AMBIANCE, THE SERVICE -FRIENDS ARE THE BEST- (a guy was yelling at them, I think That it was the owner or the manager, that was the only thing I saw wrong. But they dont need anyone to follow them, because EVERYONE does a very excellent job. EVERYONE is very kind, helpful, fast and very efficient. We used to like going here for AYCE sushi, but now the chef is putting way too much rice and the fish very thinly cut. The salmon collar is listed as part of the AYCE menu, but yet they never have it. For the price they charge, they dont offer sashimi or any special type of fish like other restaurants do. So its better to go elsewhere. Were a little bummed since its so close to our house. Hopefully theyll cut down on the rice and not go so cheap on the fish. I included pic so everyone can see what I meant.

My first trip to this place wasnt all that impressive. Yes the food was delicious, but the service was lacking. Since my first visit, the food has maintained its excellent quality but the service has definitely improved. My table was clean and the servers were attentive, polite and very quick. I am happy to report that things have definitely taken steps in the right direction and I will be returning to this Maki Yaki for more.

I usually come here when my kids want sushi, since they are still under 8, and they can pretty much eat their weight in sushi. Eating their AYCE is cheaper than going to Kura, plus my kids think their sushi taste better than Kura, which I agree. The service is alright, not the best, but better than most AYCE places. The waiting staff is a bit slow, even when they are that busy. I would recommend get here early, because once the dining rush hour starts you will wait for awhile to get your food.

Came here with our family for my wife’s birthday. The food was pretty good however the service wasn’t good at all. They didn’t even ask about our drinks till we were almost done. We spent $230 which is fine but it didn’t feel like they knew how much we spent cause the service was bad. They also added a “gratuity” charge for $37 which I don’t appreciate for how bad the service was. Will never come back.

I liked the vibe of the place: on a Friday night it was a lot more chill than I expected. My Chirashi Bowl was great: the rice was well cooked and well seasoned, and the pickled sides were excellent and perfectly proportioned.However, the non-sushi components that the rest of my party are were not as good. Decent calamari, but the beef teriyaki was food-court quality, and the Aloha Roll was poorly proportioned (too much spicy tuna).Overall, I would return, after trying out the rest of the sushi places in the area.

I’ve come here over 5 times with my husband and each time was better then the other. Servers are always great and food is always delicious. Today 09/24/22 we came and every second was horrible. We did the All You Can Eat and after checking off which items we wanted and waited for the guy to come get our paper he goes, do you want to take some items off? This is a lot, and laughs. I was beyond upset mostly because we didn’t even order a lot! I’ve never seen these employees here before. We ordered a second and third round as well which was just miso soup and salad while we talked and when we were all done and we were about to pay he laughs and goes “oh my god? Wow”. I was so shocked. I heard him talk the same way to two other tables as well! We have been loyal customers but we will never come back here again.

Four stars for the food.... 2.5 stars for the service... Really a 3-3.5 star experience.Fish was fresh and tasty... Rolls were tasty and well presented.... The price for All You Can Eat Sushi is more than fair considering the quality of the food was, better than good.There appeared to be three servers in the dining area. Two appeared to be adequately attentive and responsive, even helping at our table once in awhile... Then there was our server.... slower than teriyaki sauce right out of the fridge. He seemed nice enough, but just clueless. Forgetting to bring parts of our order until we reminded him. Never bringing our bill (leaving that to the competent young girl server). If I had to guess, other reviewers of this place who wrote about similar experiences, probably had the same server.To the owners: Maybe make the slow server a host or bus boy... but for God sake, stop letting him serve! Poor service just takes away from the experience which translates into.... lost business.

We ate All You Can It. A 4-year-old child needs a separate menu, so we ordered a separate kids menu. (Actually, when I called a few days ago, the employee said that All You Can It is free for 4-year-olds) The moment I gave the child a piece of takoyaki, the male owner came quickly and strongly said not to eat and not to eat. This owner ignores the guests. How can you be rude when a customer is eating? He should have politely re-guided the rules. We said we couldnt eat because we felt uncomfortable, so the owner told us to leave. The owner drove the guest away. I feel sorry for the employees who work for such owner. I think you can understand the attitude of the owner of this restaurant. Im going to sue this restaurant. This restaurant should be closed. Male owner is rude and disrespectful to his guests.

Remodel update: 04/28/2022So I visited during the remodel. Clearly under new ownership again.Sushi chef is not a sushi chef. WAY too much rice in the sushi and fish is being cut so thin now that all you taste is rice. Have not gone back in months. And this use to be my go to place. The atmosphere is great and the service is okay. The staff is very friendly. The AYCE menu doesn’t include all the appetizers and they forgot some of the items we ordered. We had to ask for drinks as the person who seated us and the person who took our order did not. The servings are okay and the sushi is absolutely delicious.

Staff is always friendly and food is always good. My only complaint is some of the dishes come with a spicy sauce and it is not advertised as such. But this can be avoided by asking if it has sauce so no big deal.The place itself is very clean and the cooks are very friendly. The tv is never too loud and the decorations are perfect.

Went there with a group of 5. The place was empty when we showed up on a Wednesday evening about 7ish. We still had to wait because they only had 1 table that seated more than 4 people... the rolls all tasted similar and overall werent very good. There are much better all you can eat sushi places not far. The other places are cheaper as well at 25 per person instead of 27... I wont be going back.

Had to watch a beautiful japanese hidaway get morphed into a stale modern cattle hurder. They romodeled to fit more people as they became more popular, and lost themselves. The places switches ownership like every year. The taste has declined. The prices are crazy, and your tips arent worth the service anymore. Dont go in with a big party, they will mix orders up with the other tables. Friend asked for siracha, and was met with attitude, which I could understand if it was a Japanese styled restaurant, but its not anymore. Windows are everywhere, you feel exposed to the world, opposite of before, a Japanese hideaway. Im heartbroken. Before, I could come in, and relax, and maybe do homework. Now Id rather stay home, even after the pandemic.

Staff wear mask and gloves. However there are some table without divider and they seated guests on table next to each other. This is my sons favorite sushi restaurant. Its charmingly decorated, and quite busy. One of the things my son likes is the all-you-can-eat feature! Great price if you have an appetite. The sushi is fresh, tasty, and basic no frills, due to volume I presume. Staff is hit and miss, typically just spread too thin. I recommend ordering everything you want at once, as sometimes you dont see your server again until your bill.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Restaurant was empty and took a while to just be seated. Drinks took another 15min and that is only because we asked for it. We had a minor issue with our order. Brought it to our waiters attention and still proceeded to keep the items we didnt ask for and pay for them. From a distance you can hear our waiter talking (shouting) to someone cursing and complaining about the issue. Everyone in the restaurant heard and just stared at our direction . That was completely unprofessional, lack of customer service, and when asked to speak to manager or owner he proceeded to say he was the only one able to help. Yet I can hear a woman in the back ground asking him questions about the situation . Will never recommend this place to anyone and will never go back. Completely disappointed and shocked at the lack of customer service .

Place was great. Had a friend take me there with his family, and the food was amazing. The quality of the fish is what you would expect from a high end all you can eat however its the plate design that takes there dishes to the next level. Seriously give this place a try. As for customer satisfaction, I would give them another 5/5. They are really nice and will change the tv and ac. All you gotta do is ask, and the food comes out fairly quickly so you wont be waiting too much. If you have been to a Sake Tu Me, I think thats spelled correctly its a good substitute and a hell of a lot closer to orange.

Terrible, terrible, terrible experience! My husband had ordered the all-you-can-eat sushi and was told he can order any sushi from the first two pages of the menu and up to 4 orders at a time. The waitress had demonstrated how to order by writing on one of the sheets, but when my husband told her he wanted the all-you-can-eat sushi, she didnt provide a new sheet, but took his order which was from the sections she showed us on the menu. So we thought all was well. But when the bill came, we were billed for each individual sushi order my husband ordered. When he questioned it he was told it was charged that way because he didnt use the order sheet. This was very upsetting. Along with that problem, the wait time was ridiculous as well. I received my soup quickly, but my son and husband waited over 20 minutes and had to ask for the waitress to check on the order. She never checked on us. It appears if you want all-you-can-eat, be prepared to wait and wait and wait. Perhaps this is a ploy to wait until youre no longer hungry or just plain fedup.

I really enjoy this place because It has fresh sushi from the rivers and at the same time is very authentic especially with the green tea ooo yeah its nice and hot for this weather. The food is really good, presentation is beautiful.Why is only 4 star?1. They charge $22.95 for adult, and $16.95 each for my 5 years old and 6 years old that only eat 4pcs of sushi each😓😮2. They gives me the wrong item, I order baked craw fish, they deliver popcorn scallop, I order vegas roll, they deliver maki yaki special. Lucky the substitutes is good, if not it goes to 3 star. 😊Everything else is good, just if you bring children under 8 year old which is eat only tiny bits don’t go to this place. For the most part the sushi is good but its a bit of a hit or miss. For example with the tempora for the crunch rolls. Its can be stale towards the middle of the week. Have had best experiences here on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays. I get you have to cut costs anyway you can to be profitable but dont do it at the cost of the quality of the food. When its good its great but when its not good it is glaringly obvious

I came here a few days ago for AYCE sushi, and I have to say, overall I was pretty impressed. The service was really quick, which is a huge plus for AYCE. Ive been to other restaurants in the area that take forever to get the sushi out. And the staff was consistently nice and came in and checked on us.The food itself was good. They had a few options I had never tried before, but overall I stuck with the classics. Their rolls were pretty good, as were their more normal sushi (yellowtail, salmon, albacore, etc.).The price was reasonable for sushi and the quality was good. Overall I was impressed and Id definitely recommend this to others.

Had a really unfortunate experience here. I brought my boyfriend here for the first time remembering my past experiences being pretty good. Today, however was totally different. We sat down for AYCE sushi and were greeted and served drinks immediately. For the first round we ordered but when it came we recieved a roll that we didnt order and were missing our gyoza even though the sauce for it had been put on our table. For the second round we thought just to tack on 2 more to our order. After waiting for about 15 minutes, we see the first few plates we ordered being dropped on the table next to us. Even when the table informed the server they didnt order what was being put on their table, the staff allowed them to keep and eat our dishes. It wasnt until the last plate that our server Noah, realized his mistake and brought it over to our table. We mentioned that we saw our food be dropped off at the other table and our server was about to go fix it but by this time we were not willing to wait any longer and asked for our check.In addition to the poor service, the rice -the most basic ingredient for sushi- was either undercooked or not fresh. It had this crunch to it.

Terrible service. when we first arrived it wasnt even busy-maybe 3 tables were occupied. yet, the waiter only came to our table once in the first 20 minutes. it seemed like there were really only 2 waiters present too. we did not get asked if we wanted refills, no one came to take our order until i asked after the 20 minutes, and no one asked if we wanted wasabi or ginger, and we did not even recieve plates to eat our sushi on. out of the 5 sushi rolls and 3 handrolls that we ordered, only 2 of the sushi rolls and 1 hand roll was actually good in terms of flavor. and in the end, we realized its not worth your money. honestly, you are better of going amywhere else. the decorations are pretty but thats all i can really say about this place.

GOOD BENTO BOXES!Ordered food via Grubhub and decided to try their Bento Boxes. I got SALMON and CHICKEN TERIYAKI BENTO. It came with salad, miso soup, rice and your choice of sushi rolls. I got CRUNCH ROLL. Salmon was moist and chicken perfectly charred and tender. Delish! The rice was good too. The portion was big so we were full and satisfied!Will definitely re-order in the future!

I was expecting Japanese food (silly me), what I recieved was an Americanized-Koreanized, food-court, fast-food quality, expensive near-miss food. The ambience is nice. Service is fast and friendly. The salmon was overlooked and rubbery, the miso soup had an odd flavor, spicy tuna had a strange texture (but tasted fine). I might give them another chance based on the other reviews... But I doubt it.

This place used to be my favorite sushi place ever until my recent visit. So disappointed in the food as well as service. They have raised their all you can eat prices from 25$ to 27.99 and they give u 4 pieces in a roll unlike before which was aroubd 6 to 8 pieces. All you can eat sushi place. Pretty decent sushi but the selection is limited. Servers are nice. Place gets busy for Friday dinner so get there early. Handrolls are nice. Only three or four kinds though: salmon skin, spicy tuna, yellowtail, and eel. The sushi rice is tasty and tender and a good balance for the fish.

This place used to be awesome, but has become so disappointing over the past few years. Their sushi is good, dont get me wrong, but their AYCE menu has gone from many many delicious choices to a very few choices. It is disappointing because the ACYE is not worth the money. Sushi Damu in West Covina is the best I have ever had and theyre opening a location in Tustin. If you really love lots of options at AYCE check them out.
