Makiyaki in San Leandro

Ive visited this restaurant numerous times at varying hours. Even though the restaurant may be busy during peak hours, the staff is always friendly and courteous. The food is consistently delicious and served in a reasonable amount of time.

Service was good, food was OK Id say 3/5. I would recommend for once. If you guys like it you can always go back right lol. Decent price.

Husband and I always go on dates and we were craving some seaweed salad. The service here was super fast. The ambiance was very cute, Japan like. Not sure if its true Japanese but it feels more like anime decor. The food was very flavorful and fun to eat. One dish felt like it was a taco sushi wrap. The portions are very large. So just know that there will be left overs.

First time ordering to-go from Makiyaki. I had the 16 piece hamachi sashimi which comes with a salad and miso soup @ $32, as well as the vegetable tempura @ $12. While the fish was fresh, the portion size was extremely small for what they charge. Sadly, there are other amazing Japanese restaurants Id rather frequent.

Great little local spot for sushi and sashimi right near Old Town San Leandro. Dine-in is open currently, with drink and roll specials on a little board outside. We ordered for take-out for our own dinner this time around, but the staff was very friendly during ordering and their very efficient pickup process.Sashimi and Sake Sashimi dinners were nicely portioned and of good quality for both, though the turnip base was a little mealy this time around. Their two rice-less roll options, Makiyaki special (wrapped in cucumber) and Red Sun (wrapped in tuna) were both excellent, good proportions of the component ingredients and delivered beautifully.

Food is great but at paying time the waiter. Question my husband on the tip. Tip is optional.They lost a regular client..

Nice, quiet setting. Small but comfortable. Food was delicious. Bento box salmon teriyaki and tuna sashimi. Good portios.

Wife and i always eat at this place. I placed an order for pick up and when picking up order asked lady to give me some Sriracha sauce. She said that the Sriracha sauce is extra. This is not an issue when ordering to eat there. Definitely will lose my business.

Great sushi, great service, awesome atmosphere. Try the Lobster crunchy roll, island roll, or bay scallop roll....so many great options its hard to choose!
