Malulu Sushi in San Clemente

Got the scallops, salmon roe, mackerel, and squid sushi. Everything was fresh and delicious. The chefs and servers were friendly. I ordered a salad not knowing that is mostly spinach which Im allergic to. My bad. they were willing and happy to change it out and make me a custom salad that did not include spinach. I really appreciate that. Such nice people!

Good Sushi. Not expensive and good quality food. There’s the fake crab and cream cheese( in my opinion it’s used on cheaper sushi restaurants…)but it’s not boring, fresh, crispy. Beautiful sashimi cutter well :) I’m definitely coming back and advise anyone to pass by and try it too ;) all is made on the moment

This little sushi place is tucked inside a little strip mall with a blue sign that simply says Sushi, its in the same complex as the Dollar Tree.You usual seat yourself as you walk in. You can sit at a table or at the sushi counter, they can accommodate larger parties as 8-10 as long as its not too busy as it is a small space. The service is prompt, extremely friendly and fast. All Asian staff.I get the miso soup and California rolls everywhere I go but this is the one place I will actually finish everything I ordered and take nothing home. I highly recommend this authentic sushi place!

There is some pretty delicious sushi coming from this nondescript tiny strip mall location. I needed to find a place for some takeout sushi and was thoroughly impressed with the service, the quality and the presentation.Better yet was the service and attitude of the staff... this seems like a neighborhood favorite for a reason.

Japanese Sushi, need not say much more except very good, fresh fish, friendly staff, great times!

Small intimate space, friendly and attentive Chef and staff. I sat at the sushi bar and had the 10pc. Sashimi. It looked so good that I forgot to take a photo. Everything was excellent. Highly recommend a visit if you’re in town, even the sushi snobs will love this place!

Great quality and friendly staff. I get my orders to go.Salmon sushi is excellent: fresh and tasty. Yellowtail is good. Edamame and soft shell crab are good.Teriyaki salmon is a little on the dry side.Decor needs an update.

Malulu is a great lunch and dinner sushi spot! My favorite roll in the samurai roll, and the poke is so good! I always get the poke bowl for lunch with spicy mayo, absolutely delicious!! Me and my husband will go for dinner as a date night and we usually try the new special rolls Kaz makes, he has had some fun ones like a Lilo and Stitch roll and I also love the Christmas and Halloween rolls! Good hot saki too! On cold days I will grab a nice hot beef udon for lunch, it really hits the spot!
