Mama Lus Dumpling House in Tustin

The restaurant is in a converted food court next to a Chinese smart and final. Food was decent but the service was slow and I had to physically walk over to the service counter to get some service. It wasnt even crowded. The soup dumping tasted good. Not sure why some reviews said it was dry but there was definitely soup in those dumplings. The stir fried rice cake has good texture but the pork could be more tender. The beef roll was good. It was stuffed with beef and flavored with just the right amount of herbs and seasoning. The wonton soup was plentiful and filled with meaty wontons. The restaurant definitely needs a water filter for their water because it tasted like old pipes. I guess its fine if you need some extra minerals in your body. Better water will probably improve how the food tastes as well.

Surprisingly good variety of Chinese food! Good quality for a decent price. Wasn’t overly salty. XLB needed to be juicier. The fried pork bun was a little too thick. My faves were the Shanghai rice cakes and the braised seafood over fried tofu.

Well, we had high expectations but we were disappointed. As more dishes came out, our hope for this new Asian restaurant fated expeditiously.First there were no one to greet the customers and there were a hand written waiting list for a half empty restaurant.And some of the staff doesn’t speak English and can’t answer simple questions so be prepared. The waiting staff are practically running and created an anxiety enthusing atmosphere.The food is not the best. It’s a passable copy from some of the crowd favorites. We are not impressed with any of these dishes.And there was no AC, the place was really hot and uncomfortable. Not a good experience at all.This will the first and last time here.

Brand new restaurant located in Tustin. Food was fresh and hot. A little on the salty/sweet side but not too bad. Certain items were small portions compared to the price.Xiao Long Bao was pretty bad. Meat was good but the top of the dumpling was too thick. There was also little to no juice inside the dumpling.Service was decent. The tap water tasted a little weird.Restaurant was new and clean. A lot of nice decor on the inside.

Not the best location but interesting mix use with the mart next door.Beef wrap - vgood! One of the best I’ve had yet. Nicely seasoned, stocked with meat and not overly dough-y.Pork chop spicy salt - again, quite good, crunchy and yummy.Spicy wontons - another hitter! Great dumps and sauce.Yang chow fried rice - possibly the worst fried rice I’ve had at a restaurant. Clumpy and soggy and wet. I can tell there wasn’t proper wok work done here.Prob will be back but I’ll order noodles this time! And hopefully fried rice improves. 🙏🏼

This place is amazing. Great food, really fast and nice service. I think all the bad reviews are from when they first opened — they must have improved a lot since then! We got:1. Juicy pork dumplings - almost as good as Din Tai Fung dumplings imo.2. Green onion pancake - chewy, moist, and delicious. One of the best mouthfeels.3. Veggie egg roll - a little mushy for me, but my wife loved them.4. Shanghai chow mein - the one dish no one really liked. It was kind of bland.5. Garlic baby bok choy - crunchy and garlicky in the best way.6. Walnut shrimp - this stole the show for me. Absolutely loved it!7. Veggie fried rice - also really good, light and fluffy.We’ll be introducing our friends to this place!

The food and service were both excellent! My only complaint is that there was no AC and it was 100 degrees outside. Inside wasnt any better. And eating spicy food when it was already hot was not pleasant. Also, the ice in the water melted before they filled the glass so that wasnt refreshing at all. But, Id still go back for the food!

Had heard good things about this place but Im not impressed. I got take out and found the vegetable dumplings to be okay, the pot stickers to be a but undercooked, and the napa and pork dumplings just not being in my order! Instead they gave me the pork and shrimp dumplings which was very disappointing - these were also undercooked. It took 33 minutes from the time I placed my order to the time I received it. I was given chopsticks and forks, but no sauces.

High expectations but it didnt delivered.. The vegetarian dumplings were dried and hard outside, the soup dumplings were low quality, the tofu seafood soup was not good at all... Service was ok.

Food was overly salty and the service was terrible. Had servers walk right past us even when we notified that we were ready to order. Soup dumplings had very little soup and broken wrappers, the pan fried buns had very little filling and felt greasy.
