2023-09-07 21:23:21We were really impressed by the quality of the food at Mamahuhu! I grew up in Hong Kong so it’s fair to say I know a good pineapple bun when I taste it! Not to mention the service was absolutely lovely. Highly recommend this place!

2022-10-11 00:23:50Yes! So glad to have a casual and clean place for Chinese-American in Mill Valley!Mamahuhu’s second location has all of the charm of the original - really awesome artwork, family-friendly booths and spacious seating, and easy counter service. We had a great experience with Nikesh, who led us through the menu and pointed out all the great vegetarian and vegan options available - it’s nearly everything! Almost all the dishes are available either with meat or without, so you don’t miss out on any of your favorites! We particularly loved the Sweet + Sour Cauliflower (a veg version of classic Sweet + Sour Chicken). The cauliflower nuggets were nearly the same texture and consistency as the meat version, and didn’t loose their crunchy exterior (even as leftovers!) We also got the Cabbage Salad - it may not look like it but it’s actually really flavorful! Love love love the dressing!Don’t skip the sauce trio available for take home. Elevates even the most boring post-soccer practice dinners at home to something with a little more sparkle. We just read about their Strava Adventure Challenge - so perfect for Mill Valley! (Ask the staff for more details!)Glad to have you here, Mamahuhu 🧡

2023-08-18 22:59:13Update: I’m reducing this rating to 3 stars because they changed their menu to be much more limited. The laaazi chicken is very good but battered and fried, just like the sweet and sour chicken. There are no more fish dishes. The chow mein is not GF. We haven’t been back much because everything is fried, spicy, meat forward, or gluten forward (or a combo). No longer my cup of tea.Old review: 5 starsI absolutely love this place. I’ve eaten in the restaurant, I’ve had both takeout and delivery, and I’ve even been to the location in the city! The fish under water is fire (I have to get it every time), kung pao chicken and sweet and sour chicken are amazing. (When I had the sweet and sour cauliflower I found it to be a little one-note and just sweet). I would say I’ve been disappointed by the “jade rice” because, as you can see from the photo, it hardly has any kale. But the egg rolls, salads, and desserts are great. And so are the beverage options.Hands down, the #1 reason I eat here is not just because it’s delicious, but because of the better-for-you ingredients. Fish, grass fed beef, all the vegan options, the gluten free sweet and sour batter— this is a place where you can eat what you want and still feel great after. Also I find the prices to be super reasonable.I’m so happy this place is in Mill Valley. Please eat here! You won’t regret it.

2022-12-19 19:49:22A wonderful spot for lunch after a long hike through the woods! We had their “Jewish Christmas” special - Lox Rangoon. Wow!!!! Such a fun way to celebrate cultures coming together! And delicious - wish this was a permanent fixture on the menu. We loved our meal!

2023-07-30 19:11:23Newly opened asian food in Mill Valley. A bit on the pricey side ~$20 per head~ but makes for a filling lunch if you want to eat solo, healthier, and enjoy smaller portions. The mapo tofu was VERY spicy and not for the faint of heart (not exactly the mapo tofu sauce I was expecting but the flavor was alright). Cucumber salad was cool and refreshing. Dont skip the boba ice cream, it was super delish and gluten free!

2023-06-11 23:03:06We love Mamahuhu, and drive up from SF just to eat here. Heres what I love: the menu items are incredible (and a lot of veg options), prices are reasonable, the space is modern and well-designed, and the team is very kind and attentive. Seems like a great place for families, too. A great restaurant concept all-around.

2022-12-29 23:07:45By my opinion, one of the best, Asian Chinese restaurant I have ever had in the bay area. Super up-to-date at the same time extremely authentic. And very affordable for the high-quality material they provide.
