The restaurant serves great food. The thing I like about their menu was the colorful pictures of almost all the menu items. The service was excellent. It has outdoor seating, plenty of parking. Will definitely visit again.

Been eating at Mandarin Bistro since 2019, have never had a single bad experience. Best Chinese food in the 805 by a long-shot. Quality of food is always consistent and flavorful, staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Prices for portion are fair and reasonable especially given the quality of the food.

We ordered takeout. Definitely, not worth $60, for three dishes! The fried rice, was tasteless, the shrimp with lobster sauce, was watery and the tangerine beef was soggy and couldn’t taste, any tangerine!

Excellent food! This is the best Chinese food ever! Everything on the menu tastes great! My husband doesn’t like any tofu, except their fried tofu. I tried a Thai tea for the first time here and I’m HOOKED!! You MUST TRY IT! It’s creamy, smooth, cold, and just PERFECT!

This place is awful!! They messed up my Christmas Day dinner I was serving 20 people they made promises that they never kept and I had to go in there several times to clear it up and got the run around so I gave up I was so embarrassed to serve my guest this food I know a lot of people like it but I will never go back and I do understand that it was Christmas Day but there’s no excuse

It is wonderful to have a Chinese restaurant, now under new management, this far away from where the Chinese population are concentrated (down town, San Gabriel Valley, Rowland Heights, etc.) serving authentic Chinese food (as opposed to Chinese food only found in America). Granted, for its majority clientele MB still serves the so called American Chinese food. But if you are feeling more foodie on your next visit, definitely consider and ask for the Chinese menu. You might need to read Chinese so consider asking a friend who can and join you. The food will not look or taste like anything you have experienced locally and you will be glad you did. They make one of the best Lion Head dish (dont worry, it is a stretch to imagine that it even slightly resembles the head of a lion, no lions were harmed in making of this dish, I hope) 😀 😉👍

A bit off the beaten path but very authentic. My friend speaks Mandarin and ordered these wonderful little crusty pork sandwiches off-menu. My shrimp with lobster sauce was tasty with an abundance of crustaceans. For something sweet after our lunch, we tried the sesame rice balls filled with bean paste. They were jumbo-sized, sweet and gooey. Ample close-in parking.

I have gone to this place 3 times this month. All were positive experience. I love their clean presentation. The store has a beautiful kitchen, fully staff, and has the capacity to cook their food in a timely manner.As for taste, I do recommend the food! They have stunning cuts of fish, very generous portions. Although - I must warn - I havent had much luck with their saute items which are cooked with brown sauce. It is not one of their strongest flavor.Getting take-out is wonderful, their packaging is very nice.I will be coming back again.

Updated: I have no idea what happened to them but their food was getting way much worse. Bad meat quality, terrible taste. Had to toss the food. That was throwing good money after bad. Dont go there.

Take out, they literally packed ice cream with hot food.. You guessed it, it was hot soup when it got to me. There was sauce all over inside the box. My bf got sweet & sour chicken but the sauce was not included so it was dry & mostly breading, not even half the contents were actually chicken. I ordered a tofu dish unaware that it would have meat in it, as a vegan this made me very upset as I could not even eat my dinner. Major regret ordering from here.

If I could give this restaurant negative stars, I would. We spent nearly two hours here on Christmas night and never got our food until we escalated the issue past our useless waitress to the manager. Our waitress and other members of the staff kept saying the issue wasnt their problem, its not their job to control the kitchen, they had no idea why the food wasnt being prepared, etc. No one noticed we didnt have food until we pointed it out every half hour or so, and no one--not even the manager--bothered to find and explain the problem. In the end, we ended up having to bring our food back home after a wasted holiday evening. We should not have had to pay for anything after this horrible experience, but all they took off the bill was two drinks shared between the three of us. Extremely unhappy with our experience!

Our favorite Chinese mandarin style restaurant in the area for years, always great service and great food whether it’s dine out or takeout! Dinners and combination plates along with the lunch specials are incredible… Pan Fried Soft Noodles…w/Shrimp or Deluxe -Shrimp Lobster Sauce -Kon Pao…Shrimp or Deluxe -Honey Walnut Shrimp -Sweet & Sour Shrimp -Moo Goo Gai Pan, and the steamed fish are just a few of the best dishes that we love! The entire staff is so oriented on customer service and delivering the best freshest food products available along with practicing all of the safety protocols and procedures needed for COVID-19. Again I highly recommend them!

This Chinese restaurant is convenient to our home. The menu is a mix of authentic dishes and dishes that have been adapted to the typical American palate. Waiters tend to suggest the latter, so if you prefer the former, trust your judgment!

I come here often with Chinese speaking co-workers. Everything is great but some of the best things are in the special section of the menu that is not translated. My personal favorites are spicy eggplant, bitter melon beef and sesame pockets that they serve on Saturday.

I had a regrettable experience at the Mandarin Bistro Newbury Park. On May 1, 2020 at 5:45 pm I placed a pickup order with the cashier, Alicia. I couldn’t help but notice Alicia’s attitude was brusque and downright rude. I figured she was having a rough day so I let it slide. My wife and I entered the restaurant. I noticed Alicia was packaging orders, answering the phone and interacting with pick up customers ahead of us without a protective mask or gloves.When we approached the pick up desk, I stated my name. She threw a pen at me! I was astonished. I threw the pen back at her and asked if this is how loyal customers patronizing the restraunt during the COVID19 are treated. She started flailing about trying to package other orders and was spewing anger and hissing about her frustration. I told myself to calm down. I asked if she was having a bad day. She ignored me and my wife’s attempt to calm things down.I told her that without mask and gloves she was not to package my order. I asked a coworker (the only other person in the restraunt who was gloved and masked, including the cook!), instead.I have been a customer at this neighborhood restraunt for 20 years. I have also been a practicing surgeon in this area for 24 years. I never imagined Iwould encounter such a rude welcome from a local restraunt I singled out for my support.

I have been shopping at this restaurant for about 6 years and I had never been treated with such disrespect all my order was taken wrongly the order was taken by phone and when I got home all the order was wrong I asked to speak to the manager and what What he did was tell me to call Dordash or another company, they did not add shrimp to my soup and the chicken was three days old because it was dry and the cover was raw ...... it is fine that we are in a pandemic but the quality failed This moment is awful and as if it were not enough they hung up on me ..... So the next time they give them the wrong food as they do not call me they will hang them ....

Bad service and very bad experience with cashier Alicia. She had an attitude on the phone when placing my pick order and was even worse in person. She was extremely rude! She left a very bad taste in my mouth and a bad reputation for Mandarin Bistro. I will not be going back there.
