Sweet and sour chicken was mushy and was mostly onion. We paid $17 for only a few pieces of mushy chicken. Pineapple was rotten as you can see in the picture. Chow mien had too much soy sauce. The worst Chinese food experience I’ve ever had. To top it off, they forgot to pack silverware!

Just amazing, very kind and friendly staff, they knew most customers by name, like friends, hugs and smiles, the food was very good, Mongolian beef and house Chow Mein are delicious. They keep the place clean and there is a relaxing ambiance overall.

Mandarin King has been around forever and they do a great job. They have a large menu, but honestly, everything is tasty. My spouse and I have been going there for years and it’s consistently good. I’m a big fan of the sizzling rice soup, the house special chicken, fried rice and lo mein. Great for takeout, but if you have a chance to dine in it’s really cozy and they take good care of you.

Such a rare find these days... Great Chinese food! This place manages to pull it off! So much better than some of the stuff Ive had in China Town in the big city. Everything is made fresh! And you can taste it! Cant remember the last time I tasted a freshly julienned piece of ginger in my Chinese food. This is how Chinese food is supposed to be. Their lunch specials are great and come with fried rice, soup and a fried chicken wing. Very reasonably priced. Two people can get out of here with a lunch bill under $25. You can tell the locals love this place and the take out business was booming. The interior is a little dated but the bathrooms are clean and food is top notch. Highly recommended.

Exactly what we were looking for - fresh, friendly, and delicious. We had the orange peel beef and it was light, crispy, and tangy. We paired it with some egg fried rice, and vegetable lo mein. The staff were attentive and kind. Great experience!

Some of the best food and best people you will ever find! When we lived in California we would go all the time, this is the best Chinese food that we have experienced in any state! The owners are frequently there and they too are very good people. Even though we no longer live in California, we go back frequently and immediately had back to experience the great food and people.

From out of town. Native New Yorker, no other place i thought could fry rice like new york. I was wrong! Mandarin King knocks it out of the Park! Not only there rice but there entrées! Wow! I suggest the orange peel beef. Staff is amazing and friendly. My son has a soy and peanut allergy, they did everything in there power to accommodate. If i am ever in these neck of the woods i will definitely return!

The absolute best Chinese we’ve ever had. We had it DoorDashed to us and it was very hot and fresh. We had the beef fried rice, orange chicken, egg fried rice, chicken broccoli as well as the cream cheese wontons. We fed a family plus some with portion sizes. It’s wasn’t the sizes as much as the flavor that made us give it a 5 star review.

Maybe I went to a different place from those 5 star reviews......? I ordered a wide variety and a lot of food from MK and it was ALL very bad. We literally ended up throwing more than half of it in the trash. I dont know what to compare it to... just barely edible, even if youre hungry. I would be very careful going there.

I am so happy we found this place! Great for big families. The staff is super accommodating and seemed genuine. The lemon chicken is really good. It reminds me of a restaurant I used to go to as a kid in Hanalei. Our group ordered a variety of items and every single thing was delicious. The service was fantastic- The server brought my toddler son some snacks to hold him over.

This little place is near where trolley stops. It took about 15 minutes to get a table on Sunday night in March and I see why. The food was excellent and our server was very attentive and friendly. Will definitely come back on my next visit to Laguna Beach.

The food was delicious and each plate, plentiful. We ate chicken fried rice, beef chow mein, cashew chicken, Mongolian beef, and beef and broccoli. We loved it, and it was affordable. Our soft drinks, however, cost $7.50 each, a fact we did not discover until the bill came. An unpleasant surprise to say the least! Enjoy the food with water.Parking on the street is metered until 7pm daily, but there plenty of spaces.

We went there because couple of friends recommended us this place. First of all, overall impression is gloomy. The food is 3 out of five and it’s not something that other restaurants won’t offer, there is an old burned oil smell all over the place. Moreover when we finished our dinner a COCKROACH fell off the back of my plate and the waiter just said “sorry guys “. We will definitely not returning to this place again.

The food was great. We got the family dinner for3, I highly recommend. When you first come in you get a nice salad with lemon water or whatever you want to drink. With the family dinner you get sizzling rice soup. I was wondering if would be okay, it was great it had a great taste. Then you appetizers you get fried wontons, egg rolls, potstickers, and paper wrapped chicken(better than it sounds). At this point we were getting full. The we picked three items. We choose sweet and sour chicken, cashew chicken, and house special chow mein. Sometimes with cashew chicken you get all celery not the case, there was a lot of meat and cashews. We also got white rice with our meal, it was so soft and dare I say heavenly. The staff were amazing and friendly. Would come again if I ever come to laguna beach again.
