2023-06-06 03:31:14I first tried the bao at the vegan food truck night over in north Hollywood. Just found out about the mall location. I tried the garlic noodles and dumplings this time. Both were very good and had a real kick to them. I like that they tend not to use a lot of processed plant-based meat products and stick to fresh ingredients. Will definitely be back when I visit LA again.

2023-06-17 00:07:46Wow it is so great to have another plant based restaurant nearby! Although you could consider this fast food (maybe 5-10 for my order to be ready)... the food is made to order and MAN IS IT GOOD!I got the garlic noodles and would definitely get it again. Definitely prominent in the shallot and garlic department, but if you are like me and like them then this is the dish for you!I spent about 18 bucks with tax and a $1 tip. A little pricey for mall food but ManEatingPlant & Topanga Social absolutely break that mold.Excited to try the other options, Ill make a point to update my post. (The beer was from one of the bars a few feet away!

2024-06-10 21:20:43My boyfriend and I got the Bao duo at Smorgasburg DTLA and their fried shrooms bao was the best vegan bao weve had. The crispy yet airy texture of the batter was on point and yet still super moist mushroom meat leaving us super satisfied.

2023-06-11 15:14:44The Fried Mushroom Bao was made well and tasted delicious! Although the fried mushrooms were freshly fried, they were almost dripping in oil - when I lifted the sandwich you could see how much oil was left in the container. The ingredients and sauce added a great flavor. Additionally it is a bit on the pricey side, but worth trying. I would love to try the other options such as the garlic noodles and dumplings here!

2023-06-05 04:23:12Love this place! The garlic noods are delicious, and the service is top notch! Looking forward to my next visit, and ready to try additional menu items. They even got me my noodles even when the POS system for the food court was shutting down, and said I couldn’t place my order. As someone who does their best to limit their meat intake Man Eating Plant is an amazing alternative that will be visited regularly by me when I am nearby!

2023-09-08 03:23:21There was a mixup with my order (totally my fault) and the staff couldn’t have been more accommodatingI wish I had gotten the chef’s name but he was the only person working behind the counter today (9/7) at 11:20 am. He was passionate about the food and took a lot of care to make sure things were perfect. The musubi and dumplings were great and I highly recommend. Thanks guys
