I ordered something special and the chef came out and inquired the details personally. Made my food perfect. And then came and asked how I liked it when I was done eating. Amazing service in my opinion.
I just had two appetizers and a glass of wine but theyre meatball appetizer was incredible but the winner was there smoked salmon scallion onion pancake with a preserved lemon cream cheese smoked salmon, topped with caviar!!
We really enjoyed our date night here. For only being open for a few weeks, we had a great experience and would come back again. Food was delicious (Caesar salad dressing is on point! ). Service was super friendly and attentive, they also had great recommendations. Kudos Mara team!

Went with my girlfriends during a weekend in Joshua Tree and had the best time ever. They brought us free champagne and dessert for our friends birthday and were beyond amazing. The food was also incredible.
Our first visit at Mara, they did not disappoint. Place is great inside, Salmon was amazing, Bread pudding was delicious. Chris our waiter was wonderful. Can’t wait to go back
Seeing how they were open on the holiday and the place and I share a name, my husband, son, and I, decided to try the place out for their brunch. Service was excellent, stopping by often at our table to ensure we were enjoying everything and our drinks were filled. The quality was excellent, I wish we had come with bigger appetites because everything was delicious. The chicken and apple sausage was well balanced of sweet and savory. They also had a chocolate cake that was sinfully delicious. They had a a fair offering of quality buffet & dessert options considering the size of the place and also offered bottomless mimosas and lemonade (which was perfect not too sweet but not too tart either) among other items.Recommend to give them a try, we thought everything was delicious!
The ribeye was phenomenal and the ambiance was so good, live music, misters, and Mason jar lights.
Came for Sunday brunch. Price fixed and really cool style. First starts with your own set of bfast staples served family style to your table. There is a salad/berries/yogurt buffet and a desert buffet. You pick you main. Bottomless mimosas. Great service, great food.
Mara is a nice restaurant and mix up from the typical options in town. Service was great and our waitress was very helpful! The food was absolutely delicious! Can’t wait to see what next months menu brings.
A hearty welcome to a delicious, upscale and friendly restaurant to 29 Palms. At last!! I had Bouillabaisse and my husband had a big, juicy steak and terrific thick cut fries in a blue cheese sauce. It was all great and got delivered in an easy, slow pace. The owner/chef greeted us and we had a friendly chat. The wait staff was great and I also have to mention that their music soundtrack is a definite winner. Id love to see more offerings of different wines by the glass.....but maybe in time. Go visit. Youll be glad you did!!
Everything ordered by the table exceeded expectations. Crab cakes, incredible. The salmon was outstanding. The scampi was as good as that meal gets and its really nice to have perfectly cooked shrimp. In my opinion, after just this one meal, this place makes an argument for the best food in the high desert.And, never a bad thing, the glass of wine fill was generous, but maybe it was just a good day.So, yeah, I really liked it.
Great addition to 29 Palms - Easily the most high-end restaurant in town. Super amazing and delicious. I highly recommend this for date night. My only recommendation would be to stock the beers on the menu. Not having whats listed on the menu is frustrating. Its not difficult to expand/stock beers/spirits.
We went for brunch. It was amazing. The stuffed french toast was filled with fresh berries and cream. The scrambled eggs were the best Ive had at any restaurant.
My family and I stumbled across “Mara“ on accident and therefore felt slightly underdressed. Nevertheless all servers were really nice and quick to answer all our questions (even the chef came out to check on us). The Restaurant is a bit higher priced but worth it! Even though the salad (dressing) was very delicious, it was a bit small. We had delicious cheesecake for desert which I recommend to try yourself! ALSO: ”Mara“ makes it a point to offer seasonal and sustainable sourced products and ingredients which I find very appealing and should be supported!
Food was really bad! Family of four went to the restaurant. The pasta has no taste at all. We patiently waited for more than one and half hour for the food. The food was very disappointing. The quantity for each plate was also very small.However, the waiter service was excellent, he apologized for the long wait, so we still tips him 20%. Just want to let people know that if you are looking for good food, this may not be a good choice. If you are looking for date it has good atmosphere.
The food and staff at this restaraunt are consistently amazing. Weve been every weekend pretty much since theyve opened. We needed a finer dining establishment in this town. Menu is altered frequently with explosive new flavors and dish designs! We will be back many times.
A very unique experience for brunch brunch very enjoyable the quality of the food was outstanding the desserts are awesome. Entirely worthy price the experience was wonderful. Orange juice for the bottomless mamosas was was wonderful.
The best soup I ever had. Pasta is a little pricey but excellent and worth it. The service was great, nice intimate spot. I still thinking about the food.Good wine selection.

2023-11-11 03:49:08Wonderful experience! Ribeye was cooked to perfection, and my wifes Caesar salad was delicious as well (I stole some 😋). It was our anniversary, so they did a complementary toast and dessert. We will definitely be back, if youre ever in 29 Palms, stop by and have a bite to eat!

Service was amazing, and the food was way above 99% of the places here, and even if the prices are higher, it doesnt feel overpriced (looking at you, Kitchen in the Desert). Spent $125 for two appetizers, 2 entrees, a beer, and 2 house drinks. The menu rotates seasonally, but what we had was delicious, with the appetizers being better than the entrees though. Great for a date night, my wife thought the atmosphere was fantastic.

2023-08-14 04:03:38Incredible place with amazing atmosphere! the waiters are very friendly and helpful, they gave to my daughter a luminous wreath.Due to the high load, there were power outages several times during the evening in the area. The chef personally came out and apologized, but despite the problems, he still cooked great dishes!I dont usually like live music in restaurants, but the musician here was very nice and kept everyone entertained during the dark. The music was very pleasant and not annoying.I havent left a restaurant in such a good mood for a long time! Thanks to all the staff, you are amazing!

2023-03-13 22:12:12Jan 2023: Went on a Sunday for brunch with a group of friends. The atmosphere and music were very inviting. The food was very good. Lastly, the customer service made Mara’s THE top people friendly restaurant in all of 29 Palms. Even with a reservation it took about 15mins to get seated because they were busy and we had to ask for utensils. Despite those we still had a great time & the bottomless mimosas was wonderful. I highly recommend and I will return.Mar 2023: went for dinner. I was not too impressed with the artichoke dip & the lobster ravioli. We were still hungry afterwards. Ordered the strip steak and that was good. The dinner menu needs to be expanded. Nonetheless still a wonderful vibe & it made up for the food.

2023-11-24 03:20:23We were a little disappointed to find out they opted out of the vegetarian entree option for Thanksgiving dinner but they did have plenty of sides, salads, and desserts. Plus, our waitress must have overheard us asking the chef at the buffet about it and made sure to offer me vegetables from the kitchen that didnt have meat-based items cooked in. We had great service and enjoyed the environment. It was our first trip to Mara and we were pleased overall.

2023-01-02 19:57:23This restaurant deserves double the stars. It is a small and cozy location. Their Sunday Brunch has a great selection of rolls, salads, and fruit to start. Five entrees to select from which has something for everyone. Menu changes weekly. Family style plate of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage and potatoes. Dessert table is huge with small plates to sample all the delicacies. Price is all inclusive at 32.00. Comparable to any Palm Spring buffet but without the drive. Owners/Chefs David and Carol check on the guests and get their feedback on the meals. Did I mention mimosas are included? If you havent gone there, you are missing out.

It is evident that the owner cares deeply about quality and delivering exceptional service.Now on to the real reason I am writing a review:I dined at Mara with a friend last night to celebrate her birthday. As we were enjoying our meal, I noticed all of the ways that Colleen was providing exceptional service to each and every table. A table near us ordered a steak to share. When Colleen brought it out, it was in two different plates! A small touch, but I was floored at this attention to detail. She then provided the exact same level of customer service to each person there without wavering or skipping a beat. It is rare to find that level of customer service nowadays much less here in 29.Colleen is the best!

2023-07-10 22:47:37I celebrated my 52nd birthday there with a large crowd of friends and family. The service was great the food was exceptional. I had the lobster, clam, shrimp roll. Main dish was a steak cooked to perfection and mashed potatoes and dessert was cheesecake with caramel. We all had different things everyone loved their food choices .
