My family and I dined here on a Saturday evening to celebrate my Moms birthday. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The food and service were excellent! Everything we ordered was delicious. I even tried the char grilled parmesan oysters (and oysters are not my thing)my hubby ordered, and they were delicious. We enjoyed the live jazz, and my 2 year old son had a blast dancing to the music. The owner and Tim (our waiter) took good care of us. We felt like family. We had a great time and will definitely be back! Dont think twice about going. This place is a MUST visit! The food is delicious!!!

I was in the valley for an errand and decided to try Mardi Gras Tuesday. Food was delicious. Full of flavor. The jambalaya eggrolls and chargrilled oysters were top notch. There is nothing else like it! Service was attentive. The jazz band was a nice touch. I’d definitely return.

This place was absolutely great!The food was delicious and fresh.The whole vibe was awesome.The staff were so nice and welcoming. The owner was very hands on with everything. He was going around engaging with the customers and making sure that everyones food was coming out in a timely manner.My Sisters and I had brunch there today for Mothers Day and it was really nice. They also had a saxophonist there that was amazing. 🎷🎶I would recommend this place to anyone. If you like good authentic soul food New Orleans style this is the place to go!♥️

We almost walked past the restaurant, luckily only almost. That evening there was live music, really great. The food is very good, we have tried various specialties that were recommended to us. Especially good were the scalloped oysters.

My order consisted of New Orleans’ Hash, some Coffee, and a side of Cajun fries. Great place, my second time here and it’s going in my list of routine restaurants to go to on a regular basis. I am definitely going to go through their entire menu and try each dish. It’s that high quality of staff and food with great ambience.

Food was amazing! Taster than it has any reason to be. The vibe to this place was so good, cant say enough!Very impressed. Second visit. Last night we celebrated my mothers birthday and I couldnt have asked for better experience. The place practically stopped to sing to my mother Happy Birthday! WOW! I wouldnt say it was delicious but not terrible and I was really hungry. There wasnt enough sauce on it (see photo). Luckily I got a cole slaw on the side. I just dumped that in there. Staff was nice but the floor was sticky. Next small street at Panda express, turn right and free parking on the left. If you want to go there and try it.

You got the sweet tea right and I knew I was in for a treat! This catfish dish with the crawfish red sauce was so flavorful and well seasoned! The dirty rice was perfect! I cleaned that plate yall! Definitely recommend and will return!

I apologize for my half eaten plate of food. I decided to share once I was able to stop shoveling this amazing food in my face. This place is so much more than just good food. Its an entire vibe. The atmosphere takes you out of LA and put you straight in the south, New Orleans to be exact. The food is perfection. The service is second to none. I wish I could give this place more than five stars. By far my favorite place I have eaten in LA county. I grew up in the south so Im pretty critical when I come across restaurants in LA claiming southern cooking. This place didnt disappoint!They are a pork free restaurant and I believe black owned which is the cherry on top of the beignet for me. Lots of love. Cant wait to return!The plate I had was black eyed peas, roasted corn, greens and a sauce that pulled it all together topped with fried catfish. We also had two orders of the half fried chicken (my Egyptian husband and daughter both claim its close to heaven and the best theyve ever had, besides mine)✌️❤️

I want to love this place but it didnt meet my expectations. My wife and I came here on Sunday around 1:45pm. We were able to find an outdoor dining table and thats a plus for dog owners. On every Sunday from 2 to 5pm, they have live band playing music inside the restaurant 👍We ordered fried oyster plate and gumbo. The fried oyster plate was flavorful, crispy, and juicy! The fries came with the plate were soggy and salty. The gumbo was a major display. It was so salty that we stopped eating after a few bites. And the portion was tiny...lots of soup and not much else. My wife wanted to return the dish but I didnt want to bother the waitress. Originally, we were going to order their beignets and apple cobbler. Since their main dishes were quite disappointing, we passed on their dessert.

I go here often. I was a little disappointed that the owner did not acknowledge that we were there. I’ve been there several times. I’ve bought several of my friends and family there and he’s normally pretty good about letting us know he sees us, but this time he never came to the table he never said hi nothing even though they were busy I felt a hi would have been nice. Food was good. Robert who is the jack of alllll trades made sure we were taking care off. Food was good. Live music was excellent.

Theres no other way to say it: this restaurant is superb. Weve eaten here a few times (which will be many more times in the future, I assure you!) and each time, the food was fantastic, tasty, beautifully presented and so delicious; the service was excellent; and the atmosphere was casual and homey. The live jazz on weekend nights adds to the atmosphere.I hate to applaud it so ardently because my wonderful little neighborhood restaurant may soon be flooded with diners...but I cant help it. Eating at Mardi Gras Tuesday is a sheer delight.Kudos to all who are part of this divine culinary experience.

Our first visit and we were definitely satisfied with our overall experience. Everyone is friendly, family owned and operated business, the decor has that New Orleans vibe, and even has an outdoor patio to host events. The food was so good! Ordered the oysters. Shrimp poboy, gumbo and hush puppies, everything tasted delicious...! There is live music on Fridays and even offer comedy nights! What a cool place, we are definitely coming back!

Well worth a visit. We came at opening for brunch on a Saturday and found street parking right away. Otherwise parking is rough. The service was good, the food was fantastic. The hush puppies are flavorful by themselves, but the remoulade was truly spectacular. The shrimp and grits were something I was not expecting, the sauce that they were in was really quite delightful, and the Grits were chunkier than Im used to, but it was excellent.The eggs Benedict on crabcakes was delightful, although it wasnt a traditional hollandaise, more of something créoles que, but it tasted wonderful. Its served on a cast iron skillet, which added greatly to the overall flavor. Key point, the eggs were poached perfectly.One downfall was the coffee maker wasnt working so I requested ice tea and all they had was sweet tea l, and its genuine southern sweet tea so it was really really sweet. it tasted good, just a little too sweet for me.

I was in town visiting my younger brother and he took me to this spot. The food was great! And the portions was HUGE! I was not able to finish everything in one sitting...which meant I was able to enjoy the food a second time as leftovers! The fried catfish literallt melted in your mouth! So good! We had a great time. not many places like this in L.A. loved the hush puppies and the oysters. fried chicken was good. waitstaff was friendly and attentive. the only complaint was that the food took a while to come out, but the wait wasnt so bad that it deserved to get a star deducted. again not too many New Orleans places like this one, so support this place if you value this kind of food in the area.

Best damn catfish around town fool! We ordered the Taste of New Orleans and Fish on the Bayou on dirty rice with red sauce. The fish stole the show. Perfection. They take their time preparing the delicious food and its so worth the wait.The Taste of New Orleans is a sample of Jumbalaya, Gumbo and red beans and rice with sausage. That gumbo is gas! Oh man, so much flavor. I cant wait to get back and try a real size bowl of that. Dip that bread. This time not be too stoned and ask for hot sauce. And the fried catfish is a beast!!!

Been wanting to try this place for the past year a little skeptical but we ordered Gumbo, Shrimp Etouffee, Beignets and Peach Cobbler everything was absolutely delicious when you walk in you hear the zydeco music playing it wasnt crowded it was just before lunch time but the customer service was awesome the manager Keith assisted me with an issue with my credit card. Came in with a friend during their happy hour. In addition to happy hour they also have 2 for 22 with more options. The place was just perfect. Everything we ate was delicious and rich and felt home cooked. Ordered the Taste of New Orleans and Jazzy Wingettes and a yummy Hurricane. The Hurricane was really nice, not too sweet. The wingettes were ok, they were cooked nicely, tender and juicy inside but there was so little flavor, the voodoo sauce wasnt even a little spicy as I expected. The Taste of New Orleans was delicious! (Minus the catfish or whatever that was). The flavors were so delicious and savory, I gobbled it all up. Its a cute little place with a nice outdoor seating area for us unjabbed folks cause were not allowed inside. lol. The waitress was pleasant and attentive. Pricing is fair. They also have coffee & its located on busy ventura where you can walk up and down the boulevard.

Our main courses included shrimp & grits, jambalaya, pasta, etoffee, shrimp Mac & cheese. For dessert, we split the beignet fingers & peach cobbler egg rolls with ice cream. All of the food was delicious. Unfortunately, the beignt fingers were heavy, doughy & under cooked.There was one bartender that kept touching his nose with his fingers; luckily, we didnt order from the bar.

Delicious food! I tried a few dishes, as seen in the photos, and loved them all. I started with the Jazzy Wings and sampled my friends Fries, then indulged into the Shrimp and Grits dish with a glass of Pinot Grigio. For the most part, it is a creole Seafood type restaurant. But if youre not into spices, do not let that scare you away. I asked to make my dish mild and was very much satisfied with how they served it. For this, my friend and I moved our seating to a quaint area in back before the large Gazebo tent. Truly a serene space. I met my friend at Tuesdays to catchup, after a year of the Pandemic. I couldnt have found a better restaurant to do it!Besides their heart warming food and beverages, Tuesdays has 4 main seating areas, with 3 distinct outdoor seating areas. The front of Restaurant has outdoor seating along Ventura, the city feel.. Yep, I saw a couple of Celebs too. Then theres the quaint nestled smaller section as you exit the back, aside the bridge which leads you into the spacious Gazebo tent.Now, the inside, decorated in New Orleans fashion; feeling the jazz life throughout, with large murals. Such great energy in there!Ah yes, the Restrooms. They have 3! A little different in size and feel. More importantly, clean and neatly decorated. One restroom had a mural of celebrity faces. I later found out they were all New Orleans born celebs. I thought that was interesting.The restaurant, with Tuesdays on its red (sun blocking) awning stands out on the north side of Ventura Boulevard when cruising through Sherman Oaks. It just opened during the Pandemic and is going to be a great place to stop, if just for a refreshing cocktail, on those Valley summer days. You totally feel the entertainment industry vibe with a fun relaxed, New Orleans flair. I hear they occasionally have live Jazz music. They have all the Pandemic protocols in place. I definitely will be going back, I look forward to it!

Very authentic tasting, delicious food. We started with the hush puppies, which given their diminutive size, were perfectly poppable. We then moved on to Gumbo, Jambalaya and chicken etoufee. For sides we ate the corn maque choux, collard greens and redbeans and rice. The corn maque-choux was my favorite. A bit spicy mixed with the sweet corn. It was perfection. The etoufee and gumbo both tasted great, but were a little thin. More soupy than Ive had at other places. For that reason, I recommend getting the rice instead of the penne with the etoufee. It will absorb the sauce better. The portions were ample which was nice to see considering the price tag. Id definitely go here again and look forward to post-Covid when we can enjoy the meal inside.

Great seafood experience! Loved the catfish, charbroiled oysters, Crab cakes, fried fish!! They had a great jazz Trio and in between sets they played my kind of music! Everyone was loving the food and atmosphere and having a great time. The service was a little slower but it gave me and my party a chance to talk. Also I wish the restaurant was designed for patrons to see the bands. The seating arrangement doesnt allow for that and I like to see the jazz band entertainment. Otherwise, all was so lovely!!

My family took me to Marci Gras Tuesday for my birthday and I must say that it was a great choice. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole evening. The live band was great and we even had my 2 year old grandson with us and he likes music and wanted to dance to the music, and the staff was okay with that. They really made us feel welcome. The Service and the staff were really nice. Because of COVID conditions, they have tables set up for dining al fresco on the Boulevard.I tried the special Gumbo Swamp Fries but was a little disappointed they didnt come with meat. Also ordered the shrimp macaroni and cheese which was a little salty and way too oily. It dripped through the container and bag leaving a mess in my car.Definitely want to go back to enjoy the Mardi Gras themed cocktails and try other items on the menu.

Had a craving for cajun/creole and glad we found this place. We had the Taste of New Orleans sampler dish which came with their amazing gumbo (shrimp, chicken, sausage, rice, and a small crab leg), their red bean etouffe, jambalaya (chicken, sausage, tomato, and onions), and cajun sausage served over toasted bread. If this is what I can expect when I visit the French Quarters in NOLA, I cant wait. The sweet tea was definitely made with sugar cane and was delightful. Finished the meal with freshly fried beignets. The heat from being hot and fresh melted the bottom layer of powdered sugar into a warm glaze. It was fluffy and soft yet externally crispy. Were definitely coming back for more!

I am not sure how i am today-years old finding out about this spot. but as i was fervently searching for a good bday celebration spot, i finally found it.dads bday was friday. today we got the fam bam together to celebrate him. hes from the boot and lived in nola for a good 40 or so years. so when i found something that seemed like a taste of home i got excited. when i read the reviews, i was anxious.so lets get to the food... appetizer was the naked wings,, which were enjoyed. hubby and dad ordered the sausage and red beans n rice. i ordered a catfish basket, a side of red beans n rice and some shrimp mac n cheese to share with dad. the kids had chicken tenders with fries.let me get to what wasnt enjoyed first. i have never had red beans n rice with thyme in it. now i definitely make peas n rice (a jamaican dish) with thyme, but never my red beans. i expected to see/taste trinity. so that was a bit of a turn off for us. everything else tho! one of my daughters barely left anything on her tenders n fries plate. my husband had his way with the wings. the catfish was perfect and so was the mac and cheese.it was a good night to discover a piece of nostalgia located here in the valley.

I had a taste for some New Orleans (NOLA) delicious food and rather than take a 3 hour flight. I opted to find a restaurant that catered to the taste of NOLA. Low and behold my Google search directed me to Mardi Gras Tuesday. This NOLA inspired eatery nicely depicts NOLA. However, the food was great. I ordered the Voodo platter, chargrilled oysters, and The Taste of NOLA. Yes, it was alot of food. From the platter my favorite item was the fried crab 🦀 and shrimp. From the tast of NOLA it was a toss between the red beans and rice and the dirty rice, they were good...I so wanted my favorite to be the gumbo, after all, thats what I came for. 🤷‍♀️ And the grilled oysters...lets just say in NOLA, I couldnt get enough. OMG this is the best Vegan food I’ve ever had! Because it’s real food not soy made into lackluster imitations. I had the red beans and rice, came with cornbread and sausage. I had the vegan calamari, and a side of greens made with no meat and absolutely delicious !! Enough for two meals, I just ate my leftovers, 😋I will go back even though it’s far away from me and it’s a lot of traffic on the 405 it’s worth it.

This restaurant was highly recommended, my first time out since Covid and excited to dine with some girlfriends.The presentation of the food and drinks were amazing and equally yummy. The staff starting from Lonnie who made my reservation, the owner Keith and the chef Kevin introduced themselves to our server Candace were very sweet and engaging. For desert, the bread pudding was perfection. They have Happy Hour all day on Tuesdays and will definately return in the very near future.

Lovely hosts and staff were very apologetic and made it right. 2nd visit on a weeknight wasnt as good as first. This place is legit! First of all, reservations are preferred, so if you want to go out and have amazing New Orleans style food with your friends and family, make a reservation. Luckily, when I went last week with my family, without a reservation, they were able to seat us because we got there early, before the night really picked up. The service is top notch and the food is excellent and authentic. You will swear that you were teleported to the French Quarter! I had the oyster po boy and it was utterly and completely perfect and absolutely HUGE! The oysters were flawlessly breaded with the tastiest breading this side of the gulf and they were cooked to perfection. The gumbo was fantastic and you could taste the time, energy, and love put into the dish that was topped with a cluster of crab legs. Their red beans and rice were phenomenal. I had a really difficult time deciding between the oyster po boy and the shrimp and grits, so I will have to go back and try the shrimp and grits. My daughter is a picky eater and they were able to accommodate her requests and she has been talking about her meal since we left. We finished the meal with the Beignet sticks, but I really want to go back and try their peach cobbler a la mode.When I paid the check, I accidentally left my credit card in the receipt folder. I called the restaurant and spoke directly with the owner who was able to locate my card and handled my situation with the utmost courtesy and professionalism.I almost forgot to add, in Los Angeles, it is near impossible to find sweet tea but they serve it here and its GREAT!

For the longest time, Ive seen Fat Tuesday under construction on Ventura Blvd, but had no idea what kind of restaurant it was. I was able to visit this restaurant about a month after it opened, and it was an eye opener. Definitely exceeded my expectations. They are a New Orleans style restaurant specializing in Cajun creole cooking like that found in the south. Especially popular are their poboy sandwiches.This was the first time Ive ever had a po boy, and it made a great first impression. The shrimp po boy was perfect in every way: they use bread shipped from New Orleans, it had a nice creamy remoulade sauce that had a nice tint of spiciness to it, the breading on the fried shrimp was phenomenal. Everything tasted fresh and combined so well to produce a magical taste. And it was HUGE! Big pro. I was also able to try their chargrilled oysters with butter sauce, which were also pretty amazing. To top it off, the beignets were fresh made. Hot, fluffy, with that nice powdered sugar in top. Cant get any better.If you see Fat Tuesday or are anywhere near, you have to hit this place up. Great cajun creole food is hard to find in Los Angeles, and Sherman Oaks got it lucky with this one. Its definitely one of the best restaurants in the area. The service is also really good, as everyone is helpful and friendly. And the ambience is so cool. The reviews are misleading... The service is great as far as nice staff, however there are long waits. The food was disappointing. I ordered the char grilled oysters, BBQ shrimp, and the shrimp poboy. The only reason I was able to finish any of it was because I was very hungry. This is the worst restaurant I’ve been to in Los Angeles 😭Elaboration per the owner’s request:I wish I had photos, since the look of these dishes is worth a thousand words! The jambalaya I ordered was pretty obviously canned or at least over a day old; a very runny soupy dark broth (as advertised), however the shellfish inside was poorly cleaned and the entire thing tasted of salt water. I forced about five spoonfuls down my mouth before I couldn’t continue eating it.My partner got a chicken mac and cheese which was crusted over when it was delivered to the table, like it had been sitting out at a buffet for hours already and wasn’t hot or creamy. It’s very easy to make a homemade macaroni and cheese, but this was some kind of packaged cheese sauce that chunked up quickly topped with a bag-shredded cheddar that had crusted over. It was like a dome, requiring a knife to cut open.The hush puppies were good; maybe their sandwiches or po boys would’ve been fresher, but the server had recommended the mac and cheese, which was genuinely the worst I’ve had at a restaurant; Kraft would’ve been significantly more enjoyable.You need to buy fresh ingredients and hire a new chef if you’re going to be charging this much for these dishes. To be honest, I’d never even serve them the way they were served at my dinner. I was extraordinarily disappointed and am pretty shocked by the 4 star rating here.

My wife and I loved Mardi Gras Tuesday—even though the name translates to Tuesday Fat Tuesday ;-). The restaurant offers many of the Cajun/Creole standards we know and love, and everything we tasted was excellent. Jambalaya is one of my favorites and MGTs is quite good. I prefer drier versions of the dish, like MGTs, and this one is spicy and delicious. We have far too few Cajun restaurants nearby, so MGT is worth the trip.

Wow - terrible. First visit was amazing - great food and service. Second visit - mom-existent service and food meh and same dishes vastly different. The manager Mark offered a free meal to come back, which today was when I returned to use that. The other in my party got shrimp and grits and they said the grits were disappointing at best. This was served over an hour after ordering too. My dish was made wrong to the point I couldn’t eat. The manager (who forgot us) said he would have it remade. 45 minutes later the replacement was brought which was burnt and fish was over cooked. They offered a different item - I ordered a veggie dish. 50 minutes went by and still nothing on the table - at 10pm at night.Throughout all of this - the server barely ever came over and the manager never checked on us. I heard the third dish would be “just a few more minutes” three times over 30 minutes.Finally got up and said we weren’t waiting any longer. No legitimate apology and just got excuses on why our time was almost 3 hours there. Manager didn’t offer the comp meal to my companion and still charged for it - to which of course we waited to pay. Two staff sitting around and another two were standing around, including the manager - so when he said he had been running around, my best guess is someone else needs that job more who can a rurally handle a restaurant.

NoLa is one of our favorite places to be and one of our favorite cuisines to eat.To say we were excited about a NoLa restaurant being a block from our apartment is an understatement.Fat Tuesday did not disappoint. We wanted to order in the day they opened but missed closing time. Well, we didnt miss it on day 2.We both got poboys. You can tell a lot about a NoLa restaurant by the quality of the french bread alone. These poboys were excellent. The bread was perfect. The fully dressed had the right ingredients. The flavors were fantastic.If I had ordered this poboy anywhere in New Orleans, I would have been satisfied. To find such authentic poboys in Sherman Oaks is a pandemic miracle.Thank you all for opening during the height of one of the craziest things that has happened in modern history. I wish you all the luck in the business.My wife and I will certainly be back... we have our eye on the gumbo next.Laissez les bons temps rouler.

Sidewalk dining only. I had a Po Boy with fried shrimp! It came with cole slaw that to me, was tasteless. I tried putting some lemon juice on the slaw, but that did not improve it! I brought it home to doctor it up with Miracle Whip. The best coleslaw are at Brents Deli in Northridge, KFC cause it is sweet and creamy! Stonefire Grill has peanut slaw that is pretty decent! One of the servers offered us a beignet.Now that was really good!

I’ve been looking for something to feel like the food from back home and Fat Tuesday definitely filled that hole. I got the shrimp poboy and a side of cabbage. The cabbage was INCREDIBLE. So good I may actually get the veggie bowl next time I go. The poboy was really good as well. The bread is one of the softer french breads - like the ones you would buy in packs at the store- as opposed to the crunchy french bread a lot of places like to have for poboys. It was still fine, it’s just not the type of bread that you’d call home over.The only thing that makes me sad is the price. I had a discounted price (COVID deal) so the $14 wasn’t horrible although I did expect it to come with fries. Now knowing that it doesn’t I don’t feel particularly inclined to get a poboy again knowing I’ll have to pay $6 more to get anything with it. On the whole I am very, very happy to have found this place.
