Mare Island Brewing Co. Coal Shed Brewery in Vallejo

The beer is always good... the food at the Ferry building is better than this location. I am also not sure why they charge so much for their merch, everything is about 20 percent to much. Location is great... plenty of room inside and out. Great views of the water and the hills around here. Staff are friendly and helpful and the bathrooms are clean and well stocked. Its a great place to go.

The burger is decent. Fries or onion rings should definitely be an option. The loaded patato salad is shockingly good.

I photographed a beer themed wedding here. What a fantastic location - so unique with lots of history! It was a Fall wedding outdoors with the water as the ceremony backdrop and the reception was held both outdoors & indoors. My boyfriend and I have been here twice now and both times were great.We’ve never run into a long line, at most 2-3 people in front of us and we’ve gone on a Saturday early afternoon/evening. Beers and food are ordered inside and you’re given a food buzzer to take with you. Once your buzzer goes off, you pick up your order at the food truck outside.Picnic tables outside are clean but if you go too early in the afternoon, half of them are in the direct sun. They also have barstools facing the water for parties of 2-4 people. It would be nice if they had umbrellas for the tables further out or maybe some potted trees for shade. If there aren’t any open shaded tables, you have no choice but to sit in the sun or inside.So far it’s just been us two that have visited but this would be a great space for larger parties.There were also A LOT of kids running around, a few had scooters and skateboards since the area is all asphalt. Pets welcome too.We’ll definitely be back but I’m hoping they shade the outside space eventually.

You know, I feel obliged to give this place 5 stars because my friends family owns it, but theyve also got legitimately outstanding food. It also happens to be my parents favorite restaurant outside of Napa, which is a nice plus. I and my father had the chicken sandwich, and my mother had the spam musubi special and Korean fries, all of which were incredible. As a minor, I cant speak on the quality of the alcohol, so go spend money and try it yourself.

This is a very nice place with a very nice view, right on the water I had a burger from their cook trailer it was very good the meat was excellent and the bun was excellent. I also tried the porter that they brewed and I liked that too. I wish I lived closer anytime Im around Mare Island or Vallejo Im going to try to stop in.

Great experience. Wonderful space. Had the hard cider and a glass of wine. Unfortunately, they were out of the pull pork nachos this visit. 😕

The promoter is wrong to have patrons wait in the sun to enter facility to set in the sun for almost 2hr for the first performance portable toilets and over priced food and drinks. Dance floor in the very front of the stage which wasnt bad if we didnt have to sit in back of the sound stage blocked the interested view. 1hr intermission between performers. General admission ticket where almost $100. Never again for me. No more festivals.
