My family and I stopped here on our trip from San Diego and can’t believe how delicious the food was ! The aguas Fresca were also amazing . Everything we ate was 10/10 and my 10 year old daughter won’t stop talking about their guacamole and how she wishes she could go there everyday just to have their chips and guacamole lol

They were very busy when we got there, and they stated a 30-40 minute wait. Fine, thats ok. There were two of us, and we could see there was a table for two empty when we arrived. But we figured someone else must be ahead of us in line. So we waited around 40 minutes, with that table remaining empty. Until they eventually sat us down.......at that table. Why were we waiting so long? Who knows. We took about 15 minutes to eat. It was probably a miscommunication somewhere but it left a bad taste in our mouths.The food was ok, wife got fish tacos which she enjoyed, I got a burrito which was a bit bland. The green sauce was good though.They provide chips and salsa, but note the salsa is closer to red sauce than pico - not a chunk to be found.

If you want real and authentic Mexican food- this is the spot. Ive stopped by the past 2 years while vacationing in Tahoe. Great service. Great Food and excellent service. I love that its a family owned business, so it feels like home. Weve tried different dishes on both visits, from the Nachos to tacos to chile relleno to my favorite- mole enchiladas! We have made this our go to every time we are in town. See you guys next month!

Best Mexican food in South Lake Tahoe! Ive eaten at most Mexican restaurants in SLT and this one hands down, has the best tacos. Their hand made tortillas are delicious and so is their chicken and pastor. Micheladas are also super tasty!

If I could give 10 stars, I would. Ive ate at plenty of restaurants that knock you back into your seat and make you question all your previous food choices, but this place may, hands down, have been the best food Ive ever had, and Im close with a few top-end chefs in Colorado. Also, I consider myself a bit of a Mexican food connoisseur and chef, and still... Man, it was unbelievably good...Everything about my dish was perfect. Each ingredient was cooked with the best method to its optimal temperature separately and then combined when appropriate. This was truly gourmet tasting food in a small, husband-wife combo ran Mexican restaurant.ON TOP OF THAT, the service was PHENOMENAL. I swear our waitress had to love her job, because she was incredible and we thoroughly enjoyed her company.

I love this place and the family that runs it. The food is special and so delicious. It’s real home cooking, never disappoints. We’ve been coming here since it opened. Last time I was there I tried the fried shrimp tacos and they were so perfect!! Chipotle sauce, large meaty sweet shrimp perfectly battered. Please eat here!!

Yummy vegan food. Was disappointed to see the vegan torta is no longer offered but they offered to modify a non vegan one. I didnt go that route so dont know the taste. Vegan nachos and vegan burrito were on point. Would go back when in South Tahoe

This place is a must anytime youre in Tahoe. The food was amazing all around! Im vegan but my family isnt and everyone was commenting on the amazing flavor of their food. We got the vegan chicken tacos, camarones a la diabla and the surf and turf burrito. All were amazing. The service was quick and friendly.

Best vegan option in South Lake Tahoe! A universal truth. No where else around town has a dedicated/ satisfying vegan menu. Every else is substitutions on “normal” food.I’d eat here everyday. But I’ll have to wait till the next time I’m in town.

Absolutely nothing redeeming about this place. From the horrible atmosphere to the grizzly steak to the complete lack of service we are very sorry to have picked this place. The windows and doors are open with no air conditioning providing all the boulevard noise as ambiance. The place is dirty and poorly maintained. The food was only authentic because its cheaper to make your own - if only they knew how to cook it. The steak in the fajitas was so grizzled I couldnt eat half of it. The grilled shrimp tacos werent grilled and fell apart since they dont prepare the tortillas correctly. ALL the food completely lacked flavor. The service was even worse than the food. Imagine having to ask for napkins, then plates, then silverware, then condiments. We waited a half hour after ordering (the place was not busy) and finally our server comes over only to say how you folks doin Wed be doin a lot better if we were dining somewhere else.

This was my 1st visit here and it was during the COVID-19 Pandemic. They do an excellent job keeping customers socially distant. They could make better use of their space but you will definitely feel safe dining in. The staff was great especially our server Juan. The food presentation was great but the food itself left a lot to be desired taste wise. The food will fill you up but Ive definitely had better Mexican food. We had a group of 4 including kids so the pictures included are chicken fingers and fries, chicken tacos, enchiladas and taquitos. The least favorite was the taquitos as the chicken didnt seem seasoned at all. However the chicken in the tacos was well seasoned. The enchiladas could have used more seasoning also. Again great service and we felt safe but the food left more to be desired.

No doubt one of the top Mexican food places I’ve ever had. They have vegan options in all of your traditional dishes.I ordered all Vegan and asked for mole sauce. Unbelievable plant based vegan options! My new favorite restaurant in lake Tahoe. We had the tacos with the potato chorizo and they were delish! We also had the enchiladas with the plant based chicken with the green sauce on top. OMG unreal! I want those enchiladas again tomorrow but now I have to wait until they open on Wednesday! Regardless of if you are vegan or not get those enchiladas with the plant chicken. So good. Nice friendly service. Seating inside or outside.

They took a long time to bring us our food, though they gave us warning due to many to go orders, so we werent too upset about it. However they were out of a handful of things including salsa, quacamole & steak. All pretty important items for dinner especially when you wanted the steak fajitas. They also dont have any true liquor so beer and seltzer options were all they had.However, still, the service was great! They were really nice and I found it very special touch that they had a heater in their bathroom. Excellent job there!

First time eating here and we were not disappointed. My wife had the Camarones a la Diabla $16 (shrimp in spicy red sauce) and I had Tacos a la Calle Al Vegano $13 (vegetarian tacos with soy chorizo and potatoes). I have been a vegetarian for 9 months and these are one of the best tacos I have eaten. They use handmade tortillas for these tacos. Awesome! The food here is very good.

Came in and asked for take out. They said they couldnt do that because they were doing a catering order. That didnt make much sense to me, but it was fine. My girlfriend and I decided to dine in. We ordered food and waited for over 45 minutes. They decided to serve a party of 9 that came in and sat down after we did. So after nearly an hour, I finally got up and asked what the deal was. They still werent done. I asked for the food to go. Food finally came. When we got home, I found that the serving was pretty small for the price paid. Pretty negative experience overall.

Maria’s prepared a takeout taco bar and enchilada assortment for our group of 40. Their team did a wonderful job! Everything was on time, plentiful, and lovingly prepared. Marias food was sooooooo good! My friends ordered more tacos the next day. We placed a large to-go order for Cinco de Mayo, and the staff was very accommodating.I have to give a shoutout to Vanessa. She was the sweetest ever. She made sure that we had ample sauces, guacamole, and chips. She was a God-send for her patience. She is a beautiful person inside and out! We did appreciate them trying to accommodate the best they could. Fajitas seemed rushed and ended up charging me $2 for a tiny amount of sour crème. Food was amazing. Service was not unfortunately :( The young gentleman helping us did not know the menu so when I ordered he said they didn’t have it even when it was on the menu. He then proceeded to say he was going to ask the manager if they did have it and they did not. My mom was visiting me from the Bay Area and we wanted to have a drink but when I ordered a Midori Sour it came back with the whole bottom being filled with salt and it was made with tequila. My family and I had a horrible experience at this place. We got there at 10:30 am (half an hour early) in order to be the first ones there because we were a big family. When we got there we were told they didn’t open till 11:30 am and not 11am like they advertise on their website. As we were waiting outside, at 11:30 an employee got there and opened the door, when we tried to go inside another employee told us we had to wait outside for another 10 minutes because they still had to set up tables so we did, once we were seated inside the waiter took my entire family’s order and after a while only half of my family got served and the others were left waiting for some reason. The half of the family that got served finished eating and the other half still hadn’t gotten served although other people that had gotten there long after us were already served and eating. We usually don’t complain much but this was just rude and unprofessional, totally ruined our morning and plans for the day while visiting Lake Tahoe. I would recommend you spend your money else where.

One of the top Mexican restaurants in South Lake. Small but clean interior. Unfortunately no space for outside dining. They offer delivery through DoorDash. Service is awesome. The women that are usually there running the place are top notch restaurant people. Patient, friendly, and knowledgeable. No matter how busy they are, they always smile. If you have worked in the service industry, then you know that can be pretty damn tough sometimes.

Marias Mexican Restaurant has a fantastic vegan burrito that is worth trying if you are a full time meat eater or the most hardcore vegan. All the ingredients are fresh and delicious. I cant recommend their food enough.They have great customer service too. My favorite has to be the camarones a la diabla, but everything is good from the enchiladas with green sauce to taquitos to the burritos. I wish I had more space to eat more of their food!We are vegetarian and they had a full on vegan menu. We picked chille relleno, tacos veganos (vegan beef or you can get potato and soy chorizo) with guacamole to start. The guacamole is freshly made so it took a few minutes (not long) and it was totally worth it. One of the best if not the best I had.We will definitely be back to this place! Does this restaurant WANT customers? The one time we ate there the food was delicious. We have tried five times since then. It says its open on Sunday, but the day we called, they were closed. Closed on Mondays. We tried twice on a Tuesday, was supposed to be open, but both times were Closed for Maintenance. Finally were open on a Wednesday, but no online ordering and no delivery. Why do they say they have these things, but they do not?! I just had surgery and cannot drive to pick it up. Uber Eats always says, Not available at this time. Do we live in Siberia?

Unfortunately when the food came it was cold and completely not worth the money. Some say the chips could use more salt, however, to each is own. The Mimosa is the best Ive ever tasted. They use a real orange 🍊. This night they accommodated everybody with free alcoholic drinks.
