“After eating here, I don’t think I can eat at any other Chinese restaurant “ these are the words from my husbands mouth as he sat in a food coma when he was done with his plate.This is NOT the place to go if you’re looking for a fancy sit down restaurant. This IS the place to go if you want some delicious food.As soon as walked in the door we could smell the beautiful aroma of a mixture of Asian spices wafting to the front from the kitchen, and shouting coming from behind the order counter. “Hurry up I have lot of boyfren waiting for me” this counter lady taking your order not only gets your lunch and dinner but puts on a great show! Trying to get everyone to order spicy or extra spicy, her eyes lit up when I ordered super extra extra spicy.After the first bite I was hooked, of course the counter lady isn’t the only one to thank for everything but the cooks deserve their kudos as well, the flavors of the Mongolian beef, garlic shrimp, and pork chow mein all complimented each other like the violins in perfect symphony. This place will be a regular in our dining out repertoire.As we sit there and enjoy our food, we hear the rest of the clients having a great time giggling at the words coming out of the counter lady’s mouth and all the mmmmm’s as they take their first bites of their foods.In short, this place is sassy not classy, delicious and hilarious, hot and steamy and just a great food place to be with friends and/or family and friends that have become your family.So if you’re ever near the southeast corner of Chestnut and Belmont, I strongly suggest you stop by and have a experience.I do have three “complaints”:1. This place does not use any type of delivery service. 😭2. My super extra extra spicy could have been spicier 😉 (that’s for you counter lady)3. The lady is funny and down to earth. Service was great but the food didnt have flavor. She did offer me some sauce to give my food favor but I was ok. They give a lot of food. We paid over $80 for 3 plates.Ive been seeing this spot on tiktok so I wanted to check it out..

The food was very good but the price is a bit up there. I definitely did like the food and found my new go to Chinese spot. The service was just all around funny and amazing. The lady at the counter is super funny, friendly and you can tell she cares a lot about how you view their food. Definitely recommend coming here! Bomb food, good cooks and friendly environment.

Container PACKED with food, lady is funny to talk to and line moves fast. Food is fresh and pipeing hot. My container was pricey but i brought it home and 5 of us were able to eat out of it.This hole in the wall is a diamond in the ruff!

If I could give the service a 6, I would. Loved our visit here. Friends living nearby suggested this as a place to meet up and enjoy good food. The food was fantastic. The service...well, you need to experience it. My wife and I fell in love with the place and the lady behind the counter. Get here if you want to have a great meal and some fun times.

It started when I called to place an order for my first time. The lady who answered was very upfront and helpful with pricing and recommendations. The total for my 5 dishes rang up to $82.12 including taxes and fees to use a credit card. The reason I am leaving a 4.5-star review even though the price was high, is because the food was great Fast American Chinese food, the portions were big, and Helen is a character. She said she has been there coming up to 24 years and I can see why. She is very aggressive, upfront, and straightforward so if you find this personality preferable to work with then you will get along just fine! The photos are of the Orange Chicken, Chicken Chow Mein, Egg Foo Young, Pork Fried Rice, and Broccoli Beef.

Food always comes out hot. I got the spicy shrimp with chow mein and it was delicious. Portion was huge and it tasted great. Service is always friendly. The lady enjoys her job and she looks like she has fun at work. So she will tell you “to come check your shit”. It sure made me laugh the first time I came in to try the food. She is hard working and so is the people who work in the kitchen. They are usually busy packed but they always get my order right and it a steaming hot. The large fountain soda is HUGE too just as a heads up. Will keep coming back any time I’m in the area.

Im a protein guy, and their food is super tasty, but for the price I would like more meat and less noodles or rice. It was our first visit for me and my wife, and we agreed that we need to go back and try even more of their food. Be prepared for food and a show. The lady that takes orders / runs the place is quite the entertainer. I had Mongolian beef, and my wife had garlic chicken. We shared an order of meat and vegetable egg rolls. Im looking to get more Mongolian Beef with out noodles. More egg rolls, and an order of egg fu young.

I dont know where to even start. Ive been coming to Marks Kitchen since I was a child and it has never changed. Literally nothing has changed. The amazing lady who runs the counter has watched me grow up, the interior is still the same, and the food hasnt changed at all. The lady who runs the counter is the owner and you can tell she loves what she does and loves her customers. I have never seen a single person come in here that she hasnt made laugh. Her personality is one of the greatest you will ever meet and just her attitude alone will put you in a great mood. For the food, its amazing. So full of flavor, always consistent, and just delicious. Anything you order, you will love.

First, Helen is a character, no filter, 24-year employee. Helen helped me out and pulled out the tablet with the pictures of different plates. I settled on orange chicken, fried rice, and extra crispy pan-fried noodles with vegetable chop suey. The food was a little pricey but well worth it, the portions are large.

Ate for the first time here since I live closer to Fongs. Worst experience at a Chinese food place. Found a hair in our food and they refused to give money back because the plate was started. After reading reviews I wasn’t really worried about the over pricing but now I’m never going back. After 10 minutes of arguing they only gave half the money back. I told them to throw the rest away! They got their money & they wasted my time.

Food is good but my last meal was a bad experience. The chow mein and orange chicken are my favorite here. The beef i had was really dry and not good, almost like left overs or over cooked. I threw away the entire combo. I didnt tell the lady at the front. I was really dissapointed. The parking lot is full of trash and the inside is run down and messy as well. I will go back for the chowmein and orange chicken for sure though.

A colleague recommended a restaurant, despite warnings about the use of language, I decided to go for the food. Unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the worst Chinese meals I have ever had. The egg rolls were dripping with oil and the rice was overcooked and soaked in brown sauce. I suggest avoiding this restaurant.

I Gave it a chance 3 times and third time is the charm, shes more expensive than teppanyaki. Tik tok lies! This was a hipfire decision to stop in and I before my flight and i couldnt be happier I did.The food was amazing! The best Asian cuisine I had in Fresno all week! The only thing better was the lady at the helm running the show! Mediocre food. The fried shrimp came out of a box in the freezer. They just pick them up and drop them in. No prep. Much like ones youd receive in a kids meal. They were nasty. Her personality is way too much. Shes always on like a sideshow. Just give us our food and save the song and dance. Cant eat there cuz she records you eating. It’s my fourth time coming here and man oh man does she not fail. Ms. Ellen knows what she is talking about and whatever you are craving or want, she has a picture of it. These are real time photos too, no edit or filter. This is thee Chinese spot. She’s a very funny lady and down to earth. She knows her environment and community very well. I had placed an order of a large party size tray of Pork Chow Mein last Friday and it was delicious! My family loved it! It was perfect for my last minute Thanksgiving dish. You first arrive at an un expecting location that shows its age. DO NOT LET THAT TURN YOU AWAY. The hospitality and charismatic owner made the entire experience wonderful. She’s quick, witty, and loves to make her customers smile. The food is just as amazing as the person who sold it. Its made to order, fresh, and full of flavor. It’s no wonder that this location has been around for generations, and will hopefully continue to be.

Since I was younger in elementary school Id come here and was always treated very well. The lady working on the counter sparks the place up and can brighten ones mood as well with her charisma. She communicates in different languages and seems to be very helpful to many who dont necessarily speak English which I find great. My mom used to bring us here since I was 15. I now have my own 15 year old and this has been the only Chinese place we enjoy and frequent often. The owner is very kind and funny. Hands down some of the best Chinese fast food Ive eaten ever is here at Marks kitchen! I drive from Tulare to get this food fix.My plate tends to run on the expensive side but it never disappoints as the portions are gargantuan. Theres a price range for everyones budget.They do other items too, not just Chinese fast food. But i only come here for the pork fried rice, chow mein, broccoli and loaded shrimp. It was prepared quickly but what is Kung Pao chicken without any pow whatsoever. Just greasy chicken on rice. Fried rice tasted like the shrimp didnt meet the rice until it was tossed on top. Bland.

I tried this place today, since I was in that part of town and read some decent reviews on Google. Boy that was a mistake. The food was subpar for your typical takeout Chinese food. I ordered the spicy chicken chow mein and a small order of sweet and sour chicke. The chow mein noodles was soggy and greasy (not in the good way). The vegetable (broccol, cabbage, and slivers of carrots) were wilted and salty. The sweet and sour chicken was nothing special. What made this earn only 1 star review is the astronomical prices. For the two items the total was $20, plus a $1 charge for using my debit card. I also notice the many signs regarding cost for any extras; i.e. sauce, adjustment of spiciness, etc I am not a fan of any place that nickel and dimes their customer. The good thing about this restaurant is the charming owner.

My favorite place to eat in the world. This is definitely the most delicious food no joke. I crave this food all the time since I was little. my most often plate to eat is: teriyaki beef + broccoli over crispy noodles made a lil bit spicy 👍👍 SO DAM GOOD!! 😋 Makes my mouth water thinking about it!! I write this with reservations... I believe that Marks Kitchen is probably much better than my first impression. The main eating area was a bit untidy, and the menu was so extensive, it made choosing very difficult. I ordered simple chicken fried rice, and while it was hot and abundant, it was a bit on the bland side lacking any defining flavor. That said, I will try Marks Kitchen again and order something that is designed to be packed with flavor. Hoping for more stars in the future...

BEWARE. Marks Kitchen probably wouldn’t pass a random food safety inspection. This restaurant was very dusty and unkept. Also if your a new customer the lady at the front counter will pressure sell you a plate that you might not want, she based my “recommendation” off of my size, gender, and race, and charged $20 for 1 plate that had less meat in it than a fast food sandwich, at a flavor profile that was less authentic then Panda Exp. This was a very bad experience and I will not be returning.

She tries to order the most expensive plate for you, and justifies it by saying everybody likes it and you want good food, right? So does that mean that the smaller plate is bad tasting food? She talks way too much, butts into our private conversion, and is desperately looking for attention from the diners, in this case, 2 of us. We had to leave quickly while trying not to breathe because the whole place started smelling like a sewer pipe just exploded inside! Omg Im not exaggerating.... She said, Oh, its the used oil thats being removed from the back. It honestly smelled like rotten sewer... it was horrible! Never going back. Sending Osha to investigate.

I have looked up this place on Facebook, and saw that they gave big portions of food and read a lot of positive reviews. I got there and the owner was very chatty and going on about how good her food was and about how she had a 4.8 ratting on Google, and about how her customers loved her food and so on. I told her that it was my first time and that was a BIG MISTAKE! She asked me what kind of food I wanted to eat and showed me some plates on her phone. So I picked out the Teriyaki Chicken and rice and chicken Chow Mein, She charged me $10 a plate and the Teriyaki chicken plate was very small with little small pieces of meat and so was the Chow Mein which was full of noodles and little bit of meat! I told her it was not a lot of meat in the plates and she snapped at me and said that if I wanted more meat I had to PAY MORE MONEY! But she charged me $10 for this! I lived on the north side and went to the China Station and they gave me more food and low prices for the amount that I paid for at Marks. This place is high way robbery and a Fraud! DONT BELIEVE THE PICTURES THAT YOU SEE, those plates she advertise, she told me was 15 to 16 dollar plates! She should put on her Facebook that the big plates cost more instead of FALSE ADVERTISING!Preying on the poor! Dont come hear unless you want to be ripped off! Also she had a nerve to tell me not to give her a fake $100 bill that I gave her, but I told myself she was the one that was ripping people off and being shady!I feel sorry for the poor people over there

We love the food here. You cant go wrong with anything on the menu. This is one of my favorite chinese food restaurant in Fresno. It looks like any average chinese place but its not. They have hamburgers and ice cream too. Everything on the menu is good. Its a bit pricier than your average chinese place but its very good and worth every penny. If you get it to go, or have some leftovers, make sure u ask for some chili to take home. Its the best chili for chow mein.
