If you enjoy the spicy seafood taste, SUN DUBU is the dish to eat. Kimchi Pancake is amazing. The dumplings are a must🥟. Dolsot Bibimbap is another dish I recommend. Very delicious. Topokki was good but needed more seasoning/spice. Great and attentive customer service. Im definitely coming back to eat😆Love the music they play.

Ive been here a few times now.Service always with a smile.Food never takes awhile.Value is like a new style.Although this place is geared towards multiple guests dining together, I have always gone solo. It can be pretty pricey for the menu items because they are meant to be shared but I save this for when Im really hungry and splurge a little because its so good.

What an experience!!! Had dinner here last night with my wife and 7yr old son, and was not disappointed in the least. The layout of the restaurant is really great, with open seating arrangements spanning along the length of the walls centered around these really cool grills. The staff was really nice to my son and even gifted him some ice cream with his meal.For our first time trying a Korean BBQ restaurant, we couldnt have picked a better place. Highly recommend Maru if youre feeling tired of all of the burger places in LQ and want something different for a night.

Maru was excellent. The barbecue bulgogi and ribeye steak was amazingly cooked to perfection. The wait staff was attentive and quick. We also ordered the tteokbokki which at other places are too sweet or too spicy but this place the rice cake sauce was how I remembered it when I was young in Korea. One of the best places to get Korean food!!!

The food is delicious don’t get me wrong. The service definitely needs work. The main reason for the 1 star review is the fact that they CHARGE a $15 fee if you decide to eat by yourself. That is ridiculous to be charged if you have no one to go with. For that reason any restaurant that is that needy for any extra $ will lose my business.

Never mind ordering there again service is louzy. The girl who answered my call tried to tell me that the pork belly was already being made and couldnt cancel. I hadnt even started ordering yet. I saw that the ramien was much cheeper so I went for that because I am on a budget. She tried to hold me to the pork belly even before giving me the food. Another is that she wanted my card info over the phone and I havent even arrived to pick up my food yet? How rude....I am rating this one star because she kind of tried to trick me even before I had time to decide. I want a good bargain with friendly service. The ramien I finally picked up was the size of a small ramien package you buy at the store. I ordered mild she gave me spicy. Yukkkk.... no more of that place. First experience was awful.

Have always gone to Maru since a friend had a birthday party 5 years ago here. Staff has always been friendly, extremely attentive, and patient.The food has always tasted so good and I’ve never had a problem with any of my orders in the past 5 years.I honestly can’t wait till they open back up again to go and eat there with friends and family again. Miss you so much right now Maru!!!

This was a surprisingly good Korean BBQ restaurant! The staff were both very nice & hospitable, and the food tasted amazing — you can even take home whatever food (from the BBQ) you cant finish home! I highly recommend this restaurant.

Delicious food, nice staff, simple atmosphere. They have both traditional Korean Barbecue style, grill at the table, as well as prepared dishes. A bit pricey if you want to be fancy, but I believe worth the price. Everyone in my party really enjoyed their meals. We will be going back.

Great food and fast service! The restaurant was barely crowded and we were seated right away. Even though the dish names were in Korean, they had descriptions below in English that made it easy to figure out what it was you were ordering. Each item also had a corresponding picture. The beef short ribs were AMAZING and well worth the price.

Veggie dumplings had meat. I told them specifically someone in my party was allergic to pork and they lied about them containing meat.The bulgogi was undercooked and cold. Didnt eat it at all. Told the waitress immediately after we tasted it. She never came back to the table. Even when we asked for the check. She refused to look over at us. Had to go to the counter to get the check when the 2nd waitress told us she wouldnt take the disgusting untouched item off our bill. But thankfully the only waitress left came over and handled it quickly. The 2nd woman berated her for doing it when she came back. (Confusing I know).This place is not good. The service is the worst except for the one waitress. The food is just mediocre. Dont waste your time here unless you dont care about what you put in your body. Left with a stomach ache.

Clearly the best Korean food in the Coachella valley and thats not because they are just about the only Korean restaurant around. Truly authentic in a classic traditional way. The marinades make all of the difference in Korean cuisine and these folks are really good at it. The people are delightful and the service is very efficient. We eat there at least once a week.

Went to Maru today, it is open again - Yeah! I ordered Bibimbap. Got my Bonchon and Bibimbap. It was delicious. Getting through the servers was a mine field. I asked for hot sake and got Asahi beer. If you say hot sake fast 10 times it sort of sounds like Asahi. I did have a conversation with the owner, first name Sung, my spelling and learned more about eating Korean food than I had learned in the past 30 years. Found he makes his own Kimchi. The food is worth it but, be prepared, the servers do not understand anything about Korean food and that makes ordering and their serving a challenge.

I honestly can not remember a time I had better better service, and the remarkable thing is that I had just stopped by for a quick lunch while riding my bike. Despite my rather casual appearance in their tasteful decor, the wait staff proceeded to treat me like royalty and just simply made my day with the combination of tasty food and kind professional service.

OMG. this place is in no business to serve food - meat is low quality and as tough as rubber. noodles are oily. we wonder if they are using industrial grade oil because the after-taste is downright terrible. We asked for owner. The lady Kim came over and took back the meat- the replacement is even worse. We honestly think you get cancer by eating their food - charred, oily and industrial fumes associated with beef that was cooked in kitchen. oh man, this place should be shut

Two years ago, I had said I wouldnt eat here again. Today my daughter wanted to eat here for her birthday. It was good again like when they first started. My bf and I had stopped by to eat, and the service was not great. Employees would walk by when calling them and it took them about 3 or 4 times before they answered. Plates to grill meat were small and quite pricey. Our grill had even gotten burnt and the food was starting to have charcoal on it. They said they couldn’t change it because we didn’t have 20 grams of meat, they wouldn’t change the grill. I have been to a lot of Korean bbq places and never have had that problem before.

The service is truly amazing! Suha is the best, most attentive waitress. So helpful with little tidbits of information, comes by like a magician, out of no where, when you have a question or need some help. And the food......the food.......sitting at the table, snacking on side dishes while your food cooks, its intoxicating! The pork belly was so good! They also have these spicy cucumbers and radishes, amazing!

Worst Korean food ever - the beef was so tough. Maru uses the lowest quality and cheapest ingredients. Pancake was so so oily - they cut corners. The worst is that their food poses health risk - people pls stay away from this place.

Pretty good banchan, five different types (including potato salad, which the Korean side of my family loves), tasty kimchi, and nice cucumber kimchi as well.We ordered soondubu and bulgogi to share. the waitress asked us if we wanted the soondubu to be spicy or mild. We asked for medium spicy, but what we got was much too mild and under-seasoned. Next time well just order spicy. Bulgogi was good, had a nice slightly smoky flavor, but wasnt as strongly flavored as we make at home, or usually get in other restaurants. I was fine with it, my wife wanted it to be stronger.Well definitely go here again to try more of their extensive menu.

I normally dont eat at Chinese, Vietnamese or Korean restaurants.Maru has an excellent server, didnt get her name, and she explained dishes we didnt understand. She was polite and came when flagged.The food was delicious! I was impressed! I ordered Dumplings and Chicken Wings for an appetizer, they were so good! The dumplings melted in my mouth.My main dish was teriyaki chicken and my boyfriend had some noodly dish that I kept picking at.The atmosphere is quiet with korean music playing. There is natural light so blend your makeup and have the right undertone haha.Im going back!

Its a mom-and-pop shop with great service.The bbq is awesome! I suggest LA Galbi (marinated ribs). All their meat cuts are just phenomenal. Its better than most places in Los Angeles Koreatown. For vegetarians, their bibimbap (spicy mixed bowl) is savory as well. Good place for after a round of golf.

A place I visited 2 years ago....I went again this time.The owner is friendly and the meat tastes good.However, in some cases, there are menu items that cannot be ordered.The stir-fried squid was a little salty...There is a lot of ramen, it tastes good, and the price is about $9.9.The rest also tastes good...If you want to eat grilled meat, you must sit in a seat with a grill...Ah... the young radish kimchi was delicious...

There are a lot of people - two adults, three children.The three menu items were sufficient and delicious.I also enjoyed the two types of kimchi served as side dishes.We will come back again whenever we travel around Palm Springs.
