Went there for lunch (2ppl), ordered one roll, two hand rolls, and two orders of sushi and price was more expensive than 2 people ayce. 2 hand rolls were $27.Menu descriptions was confusing, i thought it was 50 percent off for lunch but it was only for take out. Server could have informed us earlier that ayce is cheaper option for us when we order if it was not 50 percent off.There were only 3 tables other than us with two servers, but had to swing so many times to ask for a single thing.Not going back again.
Trying out new places close to our new preschool at the Chatsworth Metro Link station almost ready to open, this restaurant has conveniently close has amazing food we had all you could eat Sushi . Reasonable prices, amazing food & great service.My favorite OH Baby a must try.

I discovered this place after shopping at the Ralphs next door and was excited to see a new AYCE sushi spot! The vibe is very modern with about 12-15 tables as well as a sushi bar. There are multiple TVs on the wall so you can catch a game here. The service was great, the place isnt too big so the servers are very attentive. The quality of the sushi is good also, most sushi spots will stuff the nigiri pieces with more rice, but its the exact opposite here! The only reason this isnt a 5 star review is the specialty roll selection isnt as big as other places. But as a new place, Im sure they will expand the offerings eventually!
The ambience is terrible with high pitched loud music playing the whole time. The food was not fresh and the fish tasted bad. Later that night I vomited and got terrible diarrhea that landed me in the hospital. Avoid this place at all costs.

By far the best sushi restaurant I have ever been to. You dont need to spend hundred to get fresh good quality sushi. Just visit Maru, price is ridiculously good. And you get a small and dedicated menu with intricate, detail oriented, dishes that will blow your taste buds. Everything from appetizers to their sashimi is just spectacular. Been here several times and I am really disappointed by their service. We chose the AYCE and submitted our first round. While other tables around us were coming in later and already getting their orders to their table, it took over 1 hour for our 1st round to be partially completed. I asked multiple servers to check on our order and they said it was being processed.At some point I guess the servers knew that our orders werent coming out so they stopped checking in on us and started avoiding our table. After finally getting the attention of a server and requested for our orders to be checked again, they just brought 1 of our rolls and returned our paper with 3 other orders still missing.At this point, we have waited almost 2 hours to receive our first round that wasnt even completed. It was disheartening to see other customers around us who came in later and were already checking out cause they finished their 3 rounds.We lost our appetite and checked out without going for another round. Will not be coming back here anytime soon.

The rolls were probably the best. All the fish was fresh but the sashimi was cut way too thick. Its supposed to be really thin, traditionally speaking. Service was mid at best. Pretty disappointing after reading comments about friendly and attentive service.

It was a very satisfying dinner. Its been a long wait, but I feel like Ive been rewarded for the wait. There is no better dinner than this in a place that is reasonably priced, delicious and clean. Highly recommended. Go to Maru Sushi for dinner. You wont regret it. However, if you arrive late, you may have to wait a bit.
Had an amazing experience in this great restaurant . They offering all you can eat option of only $35 including tax which lets you select from a large selection of rolls tempura and noodles. Everything was prepared freshly and was absolutely delicious. The staff was very welcoming and our server Young did a great job at explaining the menu and making us feel welcomed . They also have sake and beer to go with your meals. You can also order a la carte if you were looking for a smaller portions. I absolutely recommend this location. Come and enjoy it with your friends and family you will absolutely enjoy it.
Absolutely love coming here. So many good things, havent tried everything on the menu but am working my way there. Some definite favorites. I do wish they gave out physical menus more. Easier to choose rolls looking at the menu vs my phone. BUT I get why they dont have the menus.
They were a little slow getting started, but in all fairness they were packed with a 45 minute wait. It was well worth it! The food was delicious, though I cant get behind brussel sprouts and sushi combined. Still, my friend liked that and I liked most else. Fresh fish, right rice ratio, and helpful staff. Highly recommend.
Great food, the all you can eat is a really good value and they have a huge variety of rolls, appetizers, and sushi to choose from. The service is great, and everything is always so yummy! The bento is also filling and relatively inexpensive while still tasting great.

One of my most fun, memorable dinning experiences. I love how you select what you want on a sheet of paper then staff slowly brings items little by little as its made fresh. Gives time for great conversation and so neat to try so many new dishes with friends. All you can eat means once you discover what you enjoy most, you can get your fill and return for those favs. This place always seems to have a wait, its worth it but make a note and plan to go before you are actually hungry
Pretty great sushi spot. Its pretty nice and is at least a equal to hikari sushi. I dont tjink anhthing beats those two at all you can eat sushi. Maru definitelt has the better susbi rice as its actually flavored and the sashimi included to all you can eat is very very hard to beat. Come give this place a shot you wont regret it.

Wow if you are a sushi lover this is your spot. Very fresh and tasty sushi. All you can eat . Amazing service from all the staff. Very nice people. Restaurant is very clean including the bathrooms. They are taking covid precautions aswell including having the distance on tables. You must also get the green tea ice cream so delicious. Our server was John he was very nice and professional energetic and every suggestion was right on the spot. His enthusiasm definitely wants me to come back.
I understand we are in a pandemic still but why raise the price if the quality of your fish is not good. We ordered the Marilyn Monson and the tuna used had a funny color and taste like old fridge stench. Like if the tuna was bad. Then the waitress doesnt understand simple questions or requests like can I have some onions or jalapeños the service has changed . But they definitely racked up the price on us! Find a better spot to spend your money.

I did the all you can eat for $29 per person. Definitely worth it. Sushi is fresh. I like that they give you very little rice relative to the amount of fish. Theres a wide variety of sushi, rolls, and other dishes. Plenty of parking with good service. No attitude. The server is all spoken English well. I would definitely go again.

I heard about this place from a friend who worked with the chef, Kevin, at his old job. Cannot say enough amazing things about this place, guys! The food was absolutely amazing, and the service. My boo and I ordered a little too much food, (and be warned it is AYCE so anything you dont finish you will be charged, but will get a to go box) but did not mind taking the food home because how delicious it was. The presentation was just WOW, and the vibe from the restaurant was mellow and good in general. DEFINITELY recommend it!!
Went here for first time and the guy was rude! We told him we were trying to get all you can eat and my son whos 5 wouldnt be eating. He was trying to charge me all you can eat for my son just to sit there. So if you have kids that wont eat sushi get ready for the rude staff to charge you full price for a child to just sit there. Hikari sushi wont charge you and they are a down the street.
The food is excellent and the environment is very inviting. The staff is friendly and soft music plays in the background. The service is fast so be aware that if you order a lot on the first round, you may not have enough room on your table to fit all the dishes if you are there with a group of poeple ☺
11/22/21 Update: You cannot dine without a vaccine card. The restaurant was empty besides one customer (probably due to this restriction) and we were turned away at the door since I didnt have a vaccine card. Heard good things about the food but I guess Ill never know.
The sushi was very good. The service was even better. The best was the cleanliness. Not even speaking covid related, but the chairs and tables were cleaned by someone that cared- no crumbs or remnants of customers past. Definitely coming back
The food is good and reasonably priced.However, I called today at 8:40 PM, they put me on hold for 20 minutes, so I decided to hang up and call them back...nobody ever answered the phone, so I had to go and place an order,luckily I live 5 minutes away..... its 9:40 now and I still havent had my order.... Basically I just waisted an hour, instead of working I had to chill on the parking lot....even though Ive been told its gonna take 20 minutes for them to get the food ready.... And they are not busy at all at the moment at all
Theres a not enough nice things I could say about this place. 1st of all the services exceptional, I happen to get one of the greatest sushi chefs that Ive had in all of my sushi X ranges. He was creative the fish was fresh the prices were good and the atmosphere was wonderful. I cant wait to return to this place and so glad the Chatsworth has a yummy sushi restaurant right around the corner.

The prices are very good for the high quality sushi you get. The Sashimi is really good and the rolls pack great flavor. Everything was so fresh and clean and the service was amazing. This is going to be my new go to sushi place!
The music at this place is atrocious. It is so loud i cant even enjoy the food because the music is literally blasting my eardrums. Not only is it extremely loud, the song choices are gross. Not fit for a sushi place or restaurant in general at all. I’m appalled. 😒 The food is good though.
I used to go before pandemic and the service & food is always great. However, last night, everything got worst, service is too slow and the food is totally a mess. They served the rolls broken pieces and the rice is too much wherein its overflowing. My wife got sick when we got home. Will stop going here, sorry guys, you lost one loyal customer!
Delicious sushi at very reasonable prices. The to go service is lacking. I always call in ahead but every time I show up its 5-10min before someone comes out to help me and another 5-10min to bring out my food. Its never fast and alot of waiting. I continue to come back because the good is good and worth the wait:)
They have Average food. All you can eat roles and sushi. When we entered the restaurant it was 20% occupied. They failed to complete our order after asking the staff multiple times which items was missing. They were not busy. I will not return to Maru Sushi Bar anytime soon.
Sushi rolls are made cheaply, everything has mayonnaise, it’s like they don’t have another flavor. I like their appetizers that’s all, attitude is their thing, it’s like you owed them something. It takes them longgggg time to bring your order. I guess it’s all you can eat THSTS why it’s cheap service and fish

UPDATE:Tried this place again on a Tuesday. It was not busy, we were seated immediately and got helped pretty quick. Service was a lot better since it wasnt busy, sushi was flavorful and fresh. Its was a lot better than my last visit.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The sushi here was just okay. Flavor was a bit plain compared to other AYCE sushi. I felt like this location needed more texture as most of there rolls seem mushy, plain and not flavorful. The albacore with the crispy onions on top was the only one I liked. They give you a small dessert (green tea, if you asked) but, gave it to me in a really broke plastic dish and ended up not eating it. Like how do you serve this to your customer!?Service here was horrible as we did come in on a Tuesday and it was busy. The table next to us was seated after us and got served food immediately like 4 times. Our food took a while to come & refill other than water wouldnt come around as so often (I had just hot water w/lemon).Overall, we were patient and just wanted to enjoy ourselves for dinner that night. Left the girls a nice tip but, that would probably be my first and last time there.
Absolutely horrible service and policy. I was sat down and waited around 20 minutes to be served. They would not let my girlfriend sit with me as I ate (she doesn’t eat fish) so was forced to pay for a second AYCE for her as well, just so I didn’t need to go find another location.Fish wasn’t fresh, service was incredibly slow and not friendly.I’ll pass moving forward

Great tasting food but really slow service. I believe they do that intentionally so you are forced to order less because of their 2 hour time limit. I still prefer their competitor Hikari Sushi but Maru is pretty good as well.
They told me we were allowed to bring dogs indoors but after waiting 30 minutes they said we couldn’t bring the dogs in but could wait for a table towards the front room. Fine but then after another 20 minutes they said no we couldn’t bring dogs in. It was 9:10 at that point and last call was at 9:30. Poor communication and the owner wouldn’t even come out to talk.
I visited May 2 2021 and ordered the Spicy Albacore plus Spicy Yellowtail. The cold unfiltered Nigori complemented my meal. Service was ok but will improve once staff figures the post Pandemic plan. I will return to see progress. 😀
I absolutely LOVE Maru sushi. The service is great. Our favorite sushi restaurant. Shrimp boat is my favorite appetizer here. Salmon collar is also a must try dish.

For around $30 you can eat all the sushi you like. That in itself is a pretty attractive deal. While I am not an expert in things sushi, the fish quality is pretty decent to warrant another trip when i am in the area.
Been there several times,ourz in 90 mins..This time I had to wait an HR to get served my 1st rd,another hr for 2nd rd,and another hr for 3rd...issue is they kept taking in people,knowing they wait time was horrible
This all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant offers a sleek format of ordering food by a slip of paper while also managing to somehow dish out amazing food at a fast rate. The sushi chefs exhibit a great performance and presentation while working at the bar, in sight of everyone in the restaurant. The dark interior, combined with low lighting and sunlight, creates a cozy atmosphere and allows us to focus on the taste of the food. This restaurant deserves 5 stars
First time here and I had my doubts considering it is all you can eat. But my doubts were wrong and this place is fantastic. Food is delicious and service is great. I came with my family and friends! Everyone enjoyed the food. We all had a great time!! I will recommend this place to all my friends!
Really good sushi - brussel sprouts appetizer is out of this world!! AYCE is a great deal, if you have a big appetite. Staff is very nice - really good service- they make you feel like they really want you to enjoy your experience - and we did!

Good sushi and sashimi. A decent selection of dishes to choose from. You can see the Japanese-American fusion in the special dishes. Price is ok for an unlimited supply of sushi and sashimi. Service speed varies, with the number of people eating in the restaurant, but generally its fast. Staff are really great.

Wow an unbelievable experience. After a horrible experience the opening week. (Bad service and subpar sushi) we decided to give our new local business another chance. Basically refused to serve us at a table since our 5 year old only eats teriyaki chicken (anyone who has a kid can relate) and thats not on all you can eat menu. After talking to owner they still refused table service unless we all had all you can eat. They wanted us to sit at the bar with a 5 year old. Walked out never to return again.
Ok. So. This place... beyond amazing. Service is always perfection. Chefs are friendly and hilarious. You can tell they love what they do. Well for starters we were seated in the corner with speakers blasting Asian bubble gum music. The service was somewhat ok and I mean somewhat my wife’s salmon was very salty, very hard probably been in freezer too long and the waiter just hung out with his Japanese friend in the next booth just jabbing away in Japanese . My Chirashi was very bland and the fish was warm what an experience !! Never to return I doubt they’ll last they try to rope us into going for their $29.00 all you can eat thank God we decline very sad experience

This is a new AYCE sushi restaurant that we heard good things about, and boy was it good! This place is just down the street from our main sushi spot Hikari and we wanted to see how it stacked up. As far as AYCE places usually go, the fish had the best temperature, texture, and taste. The fish to rice ratio was just right, not too much or too little of anything. The selection of sushi is not as extensive as other places but the selection they do have is top notch quality.The only knock I can give them is that a few of their rolls and nigiri are just drenched with whatever sauce comes with them. Not a big problem,I can just ask for less sauce on them.All in all, very surprised. The location is hidden away behind a gym which worries me because I hope it doesnt close down on account of the location like the other businesses before them. Ill definitely help them out by coming as often as me and my wallet allows!

It is the worst place ever. The wait is super long and the food is not that good. My first and last time sorry to say that but it is the truth. I ordered only one round for AYCE because I cannot wait any longer it is such a waste of time and money.

This is my 3rd time here. Never again. I usually go to Hikari and when I have tried to give Maru a chance something always goes wrong. They only have two servers, the chefs kept my all you can eat order form and we waited a very long time. Finally complained and ordered my round two BUT to go. They need to hire more servers. This is very unprofessional and not fair to customers not the two servers they have their busting their behinds. Ridiculous!
This is a really good sushi spot. You can tell they give extra attention to detail. The tables arent to packed together and you can relax. Their is also tones of parking.

New sushi bar in town. Tried it with my family and it definitely beat my expectation. The closest comparison for the All You Can Eat style is Hakari. This place blows Hakari out of the water in terms of quality and atmosphere. If you are looking for an intimate Omikaze style this place isnt it. If youre looking for a daily driver that wont break the bank try Maru sushi. As it stands this is my go to sushi spot.
Food is decent, skimpy on portions and the service is non existent. Went for lunch and the restaurant was only half full. It took over an hour to get our food and the servers just didnt seem like they knew what they were doing.

Typically ayce sushi places put out the best quality of fish within the first few months of their grab opening but I can confidently say that theyve kept up their quality after roughly a year of opening.Fast service and great sushi for ayce. Easily a single star above Hikari, down the street, on freshness and fish:rice ratio.

My sushi orders were inconsistent. I ordered the Salmon and Yellowtail sushi twice and the cut and portions were different each time. The Udon was great. House hot sake was meh.
Dont eat here If you want to have a good night garbage costumer service staff is dumber than rocks if you want to get all you can eat but someone in your party doesnt eat that much like a kid or doesnt eat sushi they charge everyone at the table all you can eat. Would recommend not waisting your money here

One star and here is why? All they care is about walk in customers and tables. They dont treat well Online orders, pickup and takeout. They need to improve their management attitude. If they tell you 10 minutes you will end up waiting 30 minutes outside the door.

Best AYCE sushi place in So Cal. We have been to quite a few places including one just down the street. Maru is soooooo much better than all of them. I am definately going to continue to patronize Maru instead of any other I have been to.

SHE REPLIED IN A VERY RUDE TONE AND UGLYBODY LANGUAGE AND SAID NO EITHER ALL YOU CAN EAT OR A LA CARTE. WE ORDERED ALL YOU CAN EAT THE FOOD WAS MEDIOCRE AR BEST. THE SERVICE WAS TERRIBLE AND TO TOP IT ALL THEY TOLD ME I HAVE TO PAY FOR THE LEFT OVER FOOD. THIS OWNERSHIP IS VERY FAR AWAY FROM HOSPITALITY AND ENTERTAINMENT . HE SHOULD OPEN A JAILAND CALL IT MARU CHATSWORTH ARREST CENTER. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS STUPID ESTABLISHMENT TO ANYONE GO TO HIKARI INSTEAD. ABSOLUTELY THE WORST EVER. BEYOND IMAGINATION.

2023-01-30 22:53:45The number one review for this place almost had me miss out on a hidden GEM!!!! Honestly have eaten sushi in over 15 different countries in all sorts of places. The quality of this place is out of control amazing. Hands down in my top 3 best tasting sushi I’ve had in my lifetime. Don’t miss out on this food. The price is a bit up there, but way worth it in the end. Birthday dinner was accomplished

2022-01-04 08:41:10I took my family there to try all you can eat here because my friend told me its really good. Unfortunately its very disappointing. I cant blame the restaurant though because I just believed the yelp reviews and my friends recommendation but if you are looking for a lot of imitation crabs and a lot of rice then this is the place to be. If you are looking for low quality and quantity Japanese food then come here. The service is not great. I came here before Covid I remember it was better but may be after Covid they cut down cost so the quality is very bad. Also the menu doesnt have any description of whats inside just the names and pictures. I wouldnt have ordered that many if everything has imitation crab in it. There are better Japanese places in the valley here you guys can go check out. I feel so bad to take my brother here for his birthday. Also if people have real Japanese food before they would not give 5 stars to this restaurant at least recently because this is an insult to Japanese food.

2019-07-07 17:21:01This is one of the best sushi places in the valley. The AYCE is excellent with a wide range of selections that are all fresh and made to order. Must try all their appetizers and sushi.Everything we have tried has tasted great and we have been over 6 times, call ahead for larger groups since it does get busy. The service is top notch and everyone is very friendly.Plenty of parking in the plaza, but it is a bit hard to find. Find the dollar store, they are next door.

The only thing is that we’re weren’t made aware of the AYCE price. every sushi i place i’ve eaten it shows on the menu how much. i didn’t see any price there. i looked at yelp reviews and thought it was $29.99 but after we eaten it turns out it was $37. partly our fault for not asking for price but feel that customers should be aware of said pricing.

2019-04-19 04:01:13Nothing beats the price and quality for this AYCE sushi place! I have been here twice and enjoyed both times. Sadly, my favorite chef went elsewhere but the food was still delicious. The service is excellent as well. $29 pp with sashimi included. Recommend trying this spot for good quality without breaking the bank.

2022-09-02 18:20:46I went here in August 2022, I can say that finally I found a overall good restaurant. This place is honest, efficient and good quality food. I have been in this area trying to find a decent place to eat for a week an honestly it has been disappointing. However I will be coming back to this restaurant because I know I will not be disappointed and leave happy. Thank you Maru Sushi.

2023-07-17 03:08:17We usually go to Hikari but the reviews were good here so we thought we would try it. Two words...food poisoning. Yikes. Besides that...its a Boring run down place....staff were ok but since it was slow in there you would think they would be super helpful but the opposite happened and they seemed distant about their job and more focused on watching the game on the TVs....well we tried it...paid the price...and wont go back.
