Great place for vegan udon. Really fixed my craving. I got the miso and my partner got the tan tan. Both were incredible and not too spicy either. Noodles were amazing. Definitely will be back.

Really quick and really good food! Their noodle combos are kept simple so you can add on some tempura to create your ideal bowl. Must stop shop

Came here mid-day to try their Large Tonkotsu Udon and it was delicious! The noodles tasted fresh which they make in-house while you watch through the window. The Tempura station is right after the udon and while tempting decided to skip. Service was enthusiastic and I was in n out in about 15 minutes. Parking is challenging at the mall during peak times.

First time stopping at this location and it is located right outside of the food court. There are a decent amount of tables inside and a few outside for dining. After selecting your udon, you can choose a variety of tempura. Be careful though because things can add up fast. Two large udons, a platter of tempura and a few green teas ended up being around 60$ (including tip). Way more pricey than I remember but quality is still good. Overall was a lot of food and I would have been fine with the regular size udon.

Their udon noodles, souces, and tempura are great. It was one of my best Udon experiences. Must try sweet potato tempura and sweet eggs tempuraYou should park in the parking lot in front of Chesecake factory and 99 ranch makert.

Lets talk about Marugame, the noodle restaurant my daughter frequently visited when we were in Shanghai. She and I recently visited the branch in The Shops at Santa Anita. She usually ordered the big bowl when she had enough money, otherwise she would opt for the small one.Firstly, Id like to say that the vegan meat in the Tan Tan noodle was the most meaty non-meat I have ever had. The ground vegan meat is so good that you wouldnt be able to tell that its not real meat if you did a blind taste test.Secondly, I have to say that the restaurant fell below my expectations and was below average. My daughter didnt even finish her bowl, despite being a Japanese curry and udon lover. The restaurant has a very Japanese style, but I didnt see the iconic wording 讚歧釜揚げうどん as you would in Japan. The renovation and layout is still very ethnic. The restaurant is located beside The Cheese Factory and faces Benihana, making it a great location. The Tan Tan noodle I ordered only had the vegan option. The dish was extremely salty and tasteless, which is a combination that is normally not logical. The fake ground pork was good, but the overall flavor of the dish was disappointing. Tan Tan ramen or Tan Tan udon is a Japanese version of Chinese Sichuan flavor, but the Tan Tan I got was not at all spicy. Compared to the Tan Tan I had at Kura Revolving Sushi, its one-star out of five. Additionally, there were no spicy condiments at the self-service counter such as spicy oil, chili powder, or Shichimi togarashi. In addition to the Tan Tan, the curry dish that my daughter ordered was not as good as the ones she had in other Marugame restaurants in different countries. The flavor was floating and not mixed well with the noodles. According to her, you could just buy a box of curry and add water to make it better than this bowl. The only good thing about my dish was the tanenuki (たねぬき), which are crispy bits of batter that drop off the tempura while frying. The tanenuki was served as a condiment made with green onion, and it remained crispy even when soaked in the soup and was not oily at all.

We were there around 4 pm with no line, so it was fast getting out udon. (But its always a line during the meal time.)Self serve on utensils n water.Udon is ok, not fantastic, little salty. I ordered the large size. Its enough for a typical male appetite.

Its finally open! Hand made noodles have that perfect chew that Ive been looking for ever since I first had it in Hawaii. The broth is clean and flavorful. Tempura batter is light and crunchy. The beef was tender. The soft boiled egg was cooked perfectly.

I was very satisfied with my experience at this location! The staff were super quick and friendly. I went on a Saturday morning right when they opened and I was able to get a table but if I were any later I might have had to wait a bit!I got the kitsune udon with mushroom tempura. Both were really good, and the udon soup was refreshing and the dashi was awesome. The noodles were chewy and cooked to perfection. The prices are pretty reasonable in my opinion, and I think its worth giving a try!
