Marugame Udon in San Ramon

I promise I am going to take down this post, as soon as I receive a response from the management! I really love Marugame Udon and order/eat here at least once a week and their noodles are really awesome, as are all the other things on the menu EXCEPT FOR THE CHICKEN KATSU. It is always and believe me, I have ordered it multiple times, always raw and undercooked. I really wish they could do better temperature management on it, as it is seasoned really well outside and has the potential to be a great dish. Please, if you work at Marugame Udon, I request you to please try and fix the process, as it is unsafe to be consuming raw chicken. I am adding pictures and shall take down my review in a while. SF East Bay. Definitely one of our go-to restaurants! When they first opened, I think we ate there almost every week to try everything on the menu! I did find my favorite dish already & more often than not order the kitsune with squid tempura.

Nice lunch with my sister.Had Tonkotsu, Curry Nikutama and Tempura.Reasonable price. Dining area a little bit crowded but Udon is delicious.

Always happy to come here.Dont forget the Nikutama is a condensed soup and not a regular udon with soft boiled egg.The line is always long!The prices quickly add up with all the add ons. They have multiple signs asking for people to order first before sitting. Every time I come there is always a huge handful of people holding seats for their party. It really becomes a struggle to find seating and hope there would be more policing especially during rush hour.

This one’s better than the Berkeley location but not as good as the Oahu, Hawaii location. The noodles are good. I like the beef dashi, great soup, but you need to like sweet meat. My party had the tonkotsu, which was good but tasted different than real ramen tonkotsu places. Pegasus as different recipe.Lots of seating and the ambiance is great. They also have nice outdoor seating. And when you bust your tray, they have an attendant to help you.

I have been looking for an Udon place for a few years and my Japanese expat coworker found this. It was a great success, especially the first time I went there. The second time the Tempura was really disappointing, it really tasted like it had been sitting under thebhaleat lamp for a long time. I will however return again because the Udon was really good. Take the large bowl its worth it. The place is really noisy and its not easy to speak to somebody just across the table. The ordering process is simple and straightforward, you choose the Udon soup, then you are given a choice of free toppings, then you can pick up some tempura from under the heat lamps.

Love the pick-up door, tablet and process. Well designed and works well. Would be helpful to have notes to ask for meat to be ket out of the noodle dishes so I can get a vegetarian bowl. Delicious noodle bowls and fried sweet tofu. Delicious broth too. Looking forward to my next visit.

Ive been to other locations before and this one is just as good! Their udon noodles are so delicious and super fresh - they were even cutting the dough and cooking the noodles right there while we were waiting in line. They have just the right chewy texture! I always get the nikutama because I love the flavor of the beef and the egg is so good mixed in with the noodles and beef. I also always have to get their tamagoyaki tempura since thats so unique and its just the right sweetness and saltiness! They also have a nice outdoor seating area.

I got Marugame first time in Hawaii and love it. And try another Marugame near by my house in San Ramon, CA. Food is very good love it.

Was better than the SF location. Delicious dashi broth and kitsune, and there was a good amount of soup. Tempura couldve been more seasoned though.
