Food is AMAZING!!! Owner has GREAT customer service. FIRST time trying since they been open almost a year now and it did not disappoint. We got a bunch of food and the sizes are good they are pretty big portions. We got the fish curry vegetarian curry samosas nan bread mango drink and grill mix for all the food we spent $70 but it was WELL WORTH THE MONEY. Definitely going back

One of the best Indian restaurants Ive been to. Food is fresh and you can taste the extra special spices like no other place. Service is great. The owner/manager spent time explaining the food and spice levels to us. They have a big tv and it was playing mma fighting so it was distracting to watch the gore while eating, though it was entertaining after we were done eating. Make sure you order the pani puri!

Super clean, fully wheelchair accessible, casual restaurant with delicious and authentic home-style Indian cuisine. The server knew exactly which dishes were vegan-friendly (lots!), and the price is very reasonable. Highly recommended for any other tourists passing through town for an easy meal.

Very good service . Owner of restaurant is so humble and polite. Their naan and rice of the day and mixed grill are good. We ordered mutton curry as well but we found it ok in terms of taste. We did not had to wait muh for the food . Everything came pretty fast.

Every time we come to Merced to visit our son, this is our favorite place to go. The food is incredible, if we get the owner, Sam is so engaging and kind. The owner “Mandeep” if I remember correctly, was very helpful in answering our questions regarding Halal food certification and showed us proof of certification. Everything we ordered was above expectation but the “Dal Makhani” stood out.. kids were really happy and started to dig in rig away..sorry for the half empty photos of the dish!

People who loves spices can taste spicy foods here. They say they have halal meats available, although it’s not written anywhere (not in shop or menu) - which should be resolved soon. They should hang some signature food/menu photos for lunch and dinner - so that foreign customers can easily pick from there - as they might be unfamiliar with some traditional food names from menu. Again, suggesting them to write ‘halal’ somewhere if they ‘really’ have halal foods inside the restaurant - otherwise I will need to edit it to lower star review within next month.

The customer service was outstanding, and the product was exactly what I was looking for. I was so pleased with the service I received from this business. They went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. I was very impressed with the short timing with the food because I ordered a big meal. I love how they play football games, music, and etc on there TV. The person that served me was very nice and polite, I think her name was Rose she was very understanding when explaining what’s in the food and how they make it. This was my first time trying Indian Food so I’m so glad I got a nice new introductions from Masala Express to Indian food!

This restaurant was just what I needed, I tried some new dishes and was not disappointed. Tandoori chicken with the seared skin made all the difference. I loved the presentation of the sizzling skillet. The bathroom was really clean, the employees was very accommodating and knew the right balance of checking in on us but also not making us feel like we didnt matter like other places do. I really enjoyed my experience tonight and definitely recommend for anyone to come enjoy the food and experience.

Great service, good food, but serving size compared to cost was hard to justify. $14 for the fish in this photo, and their curry servings are smaller than competitors and $4 more. I really want to support it, but the prices just left me feeling gouged. To each their own, Im sure many people will visit and their business will grow. I did leave a 20% tips and did pickup not dine in, so this is by no means meant to bash and is my honest review.

Setting- beautiful paintings, nice Merced mural. They get busy but Ive never had a problem with waits for tables. Parking is always available.Food- amazing Indian food, vegetarian and vegan options are offered. Staff is accommodating with dietary requests.Cost is reasonable, food fills you up. I have been coming to this restaurant since it opened. My partner and we LOVE it so much. Every single time we come, the food is fresh and perfectly made. The service is always friendly and inviting. Amazing spot! Glad we went here instead of next door sandwich shop while visiting this town! The food was out of the world and the owner (I think) was friendly and accommodating! Dishes were reasonably priced and was told that made from the owner’s grandmothers recipes. First off, the service is impeccable! I had never been, and the person on the phone answered all my questions and was very patient. The food was also delicious! The tandoori chicken seemed like it was an entire chicken, there was a lot of it. It was moist and delicious! We were looking for Indian food while returning from Yosemite and all restaurants were closed for dine in around 9.15pm. We called this resturant at 9.30 and they agreed to prepare a togo order eventhough they close at 9.30. Planning to take the family to dine out once more. We ordered the paneer Tikka masala, butter chicken curry and chicken Tikka masala and some samosas. All were really good and the Chai tea was so great I had to order another one. The Naan was fresh and we even ordered the vegetable rice, some nuggets and fries for the little one. The food here is simply tasty and amazing. We were returning from Yosemite National park on a hot summer afternoon looking for good Indian food. Their mint lassi was very refreshing (exactly what I was looking for). We ordered double dal tadka, malai kofta and paneer tikka masala. Malai kofta was very rich and dal tadka had a very comforting taste. We spoke to Mandeep (Sam) who was friendly and answered all our questions in detail. He makes fresh dahi in the kitchen. We also enjoyed the sweet lassi so much that we ordered one as to go to enjoy it along the way.

I came in to dine, the butter chicken wasnt all that. I thought this place was going to be better than other Merced indian spots but it was mid overall. I think 45$ for butter chicken saag potatoes, garlic naan, and rice was a lil too much plus a mango yogurt smoothie. I ate it all because I spent that much. The chicken tasted funny and gave little portion. These places like to jip you for your money with the portions. I would say a better indian spot to go to was Tumeric. I have yet to try one more indian spot but this was definitely my last time coming. Other places got the same thing for cheaper. Plus I get student discount at tumeric.

The food was good. Everyone enjoyed it. I took off one star because our office is located less than 2 miles from them and it took almost 1 hour for them find us and deliver the food. I understand that the driver is new to the area but Merced is not like LA or SF. With todays technology, I would like to think that our office is pretty easy to find.

Best Indian food in Merced! We are Indian foodies and are so glad we decided to try this place out. The food and the service did not disappoint! We had the Baingan bharta, Aloo Gobi, Chana Masala and a few orders of Naan. You can choose your spice level and we went with medium, which was plenty spicy. Wonderful flavors and excellent service combined for an all around pleasant experience. We have been back several times and the food and service continue to be on par. Great selection of vegetarian options and some vegan options.

By far, the best Indian food we’ve had with THE best service. We were visiting from vancouver and have tried many Indian restaurants before, but the quality and flavours of the food here were unique and so rich. I would say this is the best Indian food in Merced, no contest. The food was fresh and the flavors sang. My daughter had the chana masala, which was yummy and I had shahi paneer, which was the best I have ever had...absolutely delicious. In addition to excellent food, the service was impeccable. It was clear that they cared about the customer experience and I certainly appreciated that. Two thumbs up, I am looking forward to returning.

Merced finally getting a new and nice restaurant! Went out to eat at this place when saw them feature on the Merced News on Facebook. The dishes that I had tried out are the lamb biriyani, lamb curry, samoas, pakoras, chili chicken, butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, garlic naan and green chilies naan. And I have tried out all the options of dine-in, takeout and door dash. My favorite of the dishes would have to be the chicken tikka masala along with the naans. Some of the dishes comes free with rice. I find that the take-out option includes bigger portion of rice than the dine-in option. Nevertheless, the food is great and the service even better. I am glad that more people are coming in, they deserve the success that they have now.
