2024-03-24 20:53:22Love the concept of introducing delicious Korean food to the uninitiated in an approachable way in a language they understand. Their walk-up style format coupled with the rapid made-to-order service makes for very efficient service. Add to that their extremely friendly and helpful staff and you end up with a great dining experience. We enjoyed the Kimbap, Kimchi Fried Rice with Beef, and Soy Garlic Korean Fried Chicken. Each was flavorful, well balanced and deftly prepared. Cant wait to go back and try more from their menu.

2024-02-23 16:25:42Outstanding quick-serve Korean restaurant that reminds us of all the great food we ate in Seoul. We ordered a half-dozen items and a couple of drinks; everything we ate and drank was outstanding. The best of the best was the Korean Fried Chicken (soy/garlic), spicy rice cakes, beef kimbob and ades (fruity drinks).

2024-01-29 03:41:06Matna1631 is a Korean Restaurant specializing in Korean street food in contrast to their sister restaurant Sura in Oxnard. They are currently under soft opening so please be patient as theyre still working out the logistics. It has a modern hip vibe. You order at the counter or kiosk and then pick up your food and utensils at the back counter. We ordered the Kimchi Jjigae Ramen, Spicy Beef Brisket Ramen, Fishcake soup/Odengtang, Bulgogi Rice bowl and Banana Milk. Everything tasted great both ramens had the traditional level of spiciness and the rice bowl was delicious and a generous portion. We will definitely be back to try more items like their kimbap.

2024-04-13 16:17:07Im so glad Matna is finally open! The Korean fried chicken has perfect crispy skin, juicy meat, and the sauce is on it is balanced perfectly with soy garlic sauce. You can also never go wrong with the kimbap or kimchi pancake and pair it with a refreshing grape-ade. My favorite is the beef and tuna kimbap. Pork katsu was perfectly fried and balanced with the best radish side dish and don’t sleep on the spicy rice cake. And for dessert, the strawberry bingsu (Korean shaved ice) is the perfect way to finish off your meal! Service is always impeccable, employees were eager to answer questions and the environment is spacious, modern, and welcoming. A plus is if you love K-pop the vibes and ambiance are always popping here! In my opinion this is the type of restaurant Ventura has been waiting for. Thank you to the owners for making my experience here great, cant wait to be back!

2024-02-27 20:42:10Ive been waiting for this place to open and I finally got a chance to check it out today.Light, airy vibe, mellow music, very friendly service, and tasty food.So far, Ive only tried the spicy pork rice bowl, but Im looking forward to having most of the menu. The pork was nicely cooked, with a moderate spiciness and great flavor. Complete with rice noodles and veggies over perfectly cooked rice.

2024-03-09 16:22:07Excellent food! Spicy fried chicken is my favorite, but my family enjoys everything else on the menu. Wish they sold soju; it would make a great after work hangout, like in the KDramas!

2024-02-11 21:26:33I was really excited to try this new place out. I know they just recently opened, and I think it will get better with time, but for now it was just, okay. It has the potential to be great, but its not quite there yet.Service - One thing that threw me off was that we ordered a variety of food, but everything came out separately. So every time a part of your order is ready they will call out your number, and you have to get up and go get your food. Id prefer it if they either had the entire order ready to go, or if they brought it out to you. Not a huge problem for most people, but with a bad back it gets tedious.Atmosphere - Definitely lacking. Just a mostly pastel yellow open dining area with a small little focal piece at the back.Food- Beef Kimbop was tasty. The Japchae noodles were excellent. My favorite was the Soy Garlic K-Fried Chicken- had a nice flavor and a really good crispiness. The Kimchi Fried Rice was okay, but not exciting. Least favorite thing was the Brisket Ramen- It seemed a bit bland and lacking in flavor. Sriracha and Gochujang were available upon request, but I would like to see more condiments available on the table or at a walk-up bar. Things like some chili flakes or powder, fish sauce, vinegars etc.
