The food was outstanding. Super yummy and pretty big portion sizes. The waitress was super nice and even brought out white rice for our pup.The atmosphere was nice. We did sit outside because of a dog.Overall I would go back again :)

Stopped in for a early dinner. Trying something new. The waitress was great we had our dog with us so she seated us outside. She brought water and rice for our dog. The food was great. I had a spicy chicken bowl. The spice was delicious. Most times they say spicy this was perfect. Full of flavor.I will definitely come back.

My first experience at Matsu Sushi wasn’t bad. We ordered the sushi boat was like a mini Titanic, except instead of icebergs, it was loaded with delicious sushi rolls! I was so impressed, I felt like I was on a sushi cruise. The fresh salmon was so fresh, I swear it was still doing laps in the ocean just moments before it was served. My favorite roller was Highway 99 roll. It was like driving on the highway of flavor, with fresh crabmeat and avocado as my trusty co-pilots. And that spicy mayo? Whew, it had more kick than a martial arts master.The miso soup was just okay. It didnt quite warm my soul like I was hoping, but I cant complain too much because the Vegetable Tempura was yummy. And let me tell you, Ive been searching far and wide for broccoli tempura, and Matsu Sushi had it! It was so tasty and fresh, I felt like I was eating a garden. Just make sure you bring your appetite, your love of fresh seafood, and your sense of humor. And maybe a life vest, just in case the sushi boat sets sail without you.

Stopped in for a quick bite this past Saturday night. We were seated quickly and served promptly. The food arrived soon after and was definitely tasty and fresh. We enjoyed the baked scallop roll as well as the dragon roll.

Waitress was nice, but management sadly refuses to run the AC in the restaurant for their customers on a 90 degree day. Strong, tough, fishy salmon in the bento boxes. Flies swarmed our food outside nonstop. Won’t be returning at a business that run things this way.

The place was amazing! Ive had sushi at many different places and this one is definitely worth it & one that I will return too. We tried the tiger roll with a combination 3 item dinner box and it was ALL delicious. Observing other peoples orders the Rahman noodles looked like something to try in the future. I had no problem giving the a 5 star rating. Here you go. Take my money. Lol #fatboyapproved

The B-Box combo with tempura vegetables and a glass of wine was Excellency. Good call. They didnt have plum wine today though next time Im sure they will. Ill be back for plum wine for sure. Amazing service! I was greeted by a beautiful sweet young lady. I’m a picker eater and I usually don’t like to bother the waitresses about customizing my order according to my preferences but my waitress was so kind and patient enough to offer so many good choices and suggestions. Thank you Angie for the great service I enjoyed my food and how polite she was. You really don’t come across excellent customer service often! (Try the Mango Tango roll!!)

Don’t recommend their Ramen.I ordered spicy Ramen. Very small portion of noodles, 1 piece of chashu, half egg, some cabbage pieces, NO bean sprouts. 85-90% are the soup. I’m not satisfied with their ramen.

A friend and I went to Matsu for the first time last week and I’m so glad we did. The waitress I believe her name was Angie (sorry if that wasn’t your name) that took our order was so friendly and suggested we try the teriyaki chicken bowl tempura combo and it was DELICIOUS it wasn’t to pricey. Can’t wait to go back again.

I think we had about 10 rolls as a group and we left at least half on the plates. It also took about 30-45 min to get the rolls which would be ok if they were busy but they werent. You would need a fork to eat the rolls because they were too loose to pick up so they just crumbled into pieces.

Friendly and attentive waiting staff, made accommodations for vegan wife, cooked rolls were lightly fried for a nice texture! She ordered a deep fried Cali roll with chili oil topping (vegan choice) and the tofu soup. I had the baked scallop roll. It tasted great!Nigiri was advertised on a separate menu so didnt get a chance to order it this time around. Easy reservation option by using Google assistant!

I wasnt very happy here. I went in and sat down at a table for two. I told the hosts that I was waiting for a friend. Less then five minutes later I was approached by another employee, they asked me if I was going to order something. Again I said I was waiting for a friend. Not long after that the manager approached me and said if your not going to order something that I was going to have to leave. Just then my friend walked in and sat down. We placed our order, the food came out and it wasnt good at all. I asked for some basic sushi condiments, they seemed to have a problem providing them to us. After that happened. I lost my appetite and asked, for a to-go box. While I waited I took one more bite just to make sure that the food had some kind of taste. I couldnt even swallow it. I had to spit it into the napkin. It was horrible. I will not ever go back to this sushi restaurant. I can not in good conscience recommend this place.It was a bad experience for me. I suggest you find another suitable sushi place to eat.

Who knew you would be able to find excellent sushi in Manteca? This restaurant is a gem! I have tried many of their rolls, and none of them are bad. My 2 absolute favourites are the Avacado Bomb appetizer, and the Baby Lobster roll. They also have a decent selection of sake.

Been to here 5 times - was my current go to sushi restaurant in Manteca.They have some good Korean dishes as well on the menu and the owner is Korean so it isnt a good as a full on Korean place but if you want to try something new or switch it is cool they offer it.Update: Charge for Green Tea is this a crime? They didnt even give me a full pot of tea where I could control the strength they charged me 2 dollars for a tiny cup of tea!Dropped a points for that and I keep getting the Sushi Chef in training. Owner saw me come and left the bar to have his assistant in training make my order.I am not going back to this place rather just drive to Tracy and go to the one of two great restaurants.

This is the third time that were told our food is not ready when we show up and they promise to call us when ready. Terrible experience to say the least. We ordered the tofu and to my surprise there were weird crispy flakes on the tofu that were moving. We called and asked the person at the front AND the chef what it was. Neither could tell us what was on our tofu we explained exactly what we were seeing and they treated us like idiots. After doing some research all we found was that it could be shavings of fish scales. We are vegan and this is extremely disturbing, disgusting, and despicable.

Rolls all taste the same. No matter what the name was. Rolls were all bland.. lrder the dragon roll, white tiger and a couple of others. Cherry blossom roll was actually good and different. Was wrapped.un cucumber instead.of rice. Ordered the fried rice as well for my daughter and tha mt too was bland. Have no idea how you can mess that up. Dont see how this place was rated so high. I was hoping to have Tofu in place of Chashu Pork on a Ramen dish. They wanted to charge $4 for the switch. I know the cost of Tofu vs Chashu, and the difference in prep time. Charging more for a cheaper ingredient that takes less time to make, doesnt make sense to me.

We live out of town and every time we make a trip to Bass Pro Shops we make sure to stop here and eat. It has quickly become my husbands #1 go-to sushi restaurant. The whole time we were there I was sitting hungry, while my friends enjoy their plates.....not kool.But even if I DID recieve my plate, the service is still not good. The store has a weird vibe and now has a bad taste in my mouth, and Im not talking about the sushi they serve. They also brought out our plates all at different times. So that left some of my friends eating while others were waiting and watching the rest eat for upwards to 10 minutes. Hey Matsu, theres a reason why places serve the whole table AT THE SAME TIME, so that the party eats TOGETHER. LolI will NEVER be coming back nor will I suggest this place to ANY of my friends. My family and I sat down and ordered our food. Our miso soup came first, but the bowls were DIRTY so we exchanged them. Then we got spicy ramen and my father asked for VEGGIE soup but they gave egg. However we ate but the spicy ramen wasnt spicy. So we had to order hot sauce. Next the chicken teriyaki with cali. rolls came but my mom ordered salmon, so we had to order again and it came back BURNT. Finally my sister and mines California rolls came. They were great!! But I was wondering where my DRINK and APPETIZER were, which should have come first. They finally came and my appetizer (the shrimp tempura) and my drink (tea). The tea was great but the shrimp was horrible and hard to eat. In conclusion the California rolls, tea, and miso soup were great. But everything else sucked or had to be exchanged, in the end this is an iffy restaurant and needs some improvements.

Midway home grabbed Japanese dinner, menu surprisingly fused with Korean items like Hae-Dup-Bop (seafood salad with gochujan paste) which I ordered~ decent sashimi components but greens just lettuce not baby springs which I enjoy from Looking Sushi of Fremont. Lady owner came out to check out on our experience and waitress attentive. Also ordered Amaebi~ tempura head too bready to my liking. My son ordered Lion King roll and Unagi-don. Total $65 for just two of us, bit expensive but typical of Japanese cuisine especially with amaebi.
