This meal was fantastic. The cheesey bread was so delicious. I could have just eaten that for dinner but Im glad I didnt. The chicken Parmesan was also amazing! This isnt a budget friendly place to eat but of youre gonna splurge this place has a very unique and tasty style to it. The atmosphere is very pleasant. The outside patio is beautiful too.

I think I have been sleeping on Matteo’s pizza! We had a chicken artichoke pizza yesterday that was so good. Also sat on the patio for the first time ever despite coming here for years. We had our 20 pound mini golden doodle with us and he really enjoyed it. They were incredibly accommodating towards him. As always the food was amazing.

I had my first experience at Matteo’s for a work meeting. Despite the restaurant being busy, it didn’t feel crowded, and the staff still took the time out to be warm, friendly, and inviting. The food was delicious. I couldn’t wait to eat my dinner, but at least I remembered to take photos of the beautiful desserts before gobbling them up. I like that they have indoor and outdoor seating. The environment was charming and comfortable. I would definitely dine at Matteo’s again.

We gave them another chance tonight after being regular customers for years. Some things never change. Customer service has always been an issue with Matteos. Slow and sometimes it seems like you are non-existent. Menu selection and food has always been good. Just plan on waiting for service and delivery. Tonight we were in the mood for a couple Manhattans. The bartender described our bourbon choice as its alright so we went with it. Drink was ok but nothing special. At the end it should have been SPECTACULAR! We were charged $50 for 2 drinks. Wondering if it was an incorrect charge we inquired. A Manhattan is considered a double pour and priced accordingly. (Weve never experienced that before). No indication prior to ordering, especially since the drink menu says $12. Not willing to argue the point we had our last meal and drink at Matteos. Maybe to go (because the food is good) but it will be a while until the sting wears off.

First time here, this bistro was excellent. A variety of good food to choose from, thus, I stuck with my favorite litmus test, the hamburger. It was made with ground chuck, and I added bacon. It was very good. Met a friend here for his birthday, he had the same and he enjoyed his meal as well. Purchased pan-seared salmon to go for my wife and she loved it. Will definitely return to this bistro. In the picture, my friend requested extra crispy fries, they were excellent.

I just got berated for not having my credit card ready for a pick up order I was trying to place.Who the hell speaks to someone like that?Then he acted flippant when I said I didnt want to order from someone speaking to me like that.I am not a first time customer but I am a last.Talk about speed running yourself out of a customer. Here is how the entire conversation went (pretty much verbatim):I called and, after a couple rings, I got a voicemail telling me to go online to order or get details (the normal voicemail you get when someone is on the other line at a business).I call back and get through:Matteos: Thanks for calling Matteos how can I help youMe: I would like to put in an order for pickup.Matteos: OK have your card ready. Can I get your first and last name?(Its weird to be pre-empted for my card when last week I ordered a pizza the same way and paid at the counter no problem)Me: Devin CareyMatteos: What can I get for youMe: Can I get a Pepperoni PizzaMatteos: OK I am ready for the cardMe: sure one second (I had my wallet in my hand and was pulling the card out; not that I have to explain this because its already absurd to begin with)MetteoS: YOU DIDNT HAVE YOUR CARD READY! I think Pete or Peter helped me and I just want to say because of him they made a customer. Im fairly new to the area and went for the bike shop next door (also great customer service i think Dave helped me) but saw this place and walked in to check it out. They have a huge wine selection and I dont know much about wine. He asked what I like and picked a few around that. I bought every one and even a few others cause I liked the labels. I had his first suggestion with dinner tonight and it was delicious. But beside that I decided to stay and eat because I overheard him describing a pizza to other customers. I got a Mendecino sandwich which was delicious. I ate outside and the atmosphere was relaxing. I went on a Friday and Im excited to go back Wednesday for their wine tasting. I also briefly spoke with a woman who apparently is the owner about a plant outside (kangaroo paw). *footnote* She was incredibly friendly and I felt welcomed to observe the landscaping even though I felt a little weird because its not a botanical garden crying out loud. Anyways if youre reading this and debating going here Id say stop reading and go. Even if pizza and wine isnt your thing they have burgers and wings and a full bar. Beside that the service is top notch and you cant buy that. Im so happy I decided to go to bike store instead of ordering on Amazon.P.s. they have wines specifically bottled for this establishment. Peter told me I probably wouldnt like them since I said I like box Moscatos because its sweet and east to drink... Im getting it next time I go though. I already left with 7 bottles and Im so excited to try every one.This place is classy but isnt pretentious about it. I work construction and had a day off this Friday, I feel completely comfortable going in work clothes wednesday so I can sample some of their wine selection instead of buying the entire bottle.*I was looking up the Google reviews while waiting for my food.*

The blackened shrimp salad with avocado and red beets, and the fettuccine alfredo was very enjoyable. My only complaint is they need to check on the tables a bit more, and refresh the water glasses especially with the heat outside. I will definitely go back. My son is a vegetarian and would love some of the many vegetarian options.

I would give 10 stars! Service & venue were amazing and the food was the cherry on top.We Came here for dinner and sat outdoors in the patio. Its a very beautiful outdoor space, hidden in the wall. Looking from the outside one would never guess theres outdoor seating. The trees, greenery paired with the lights gave such a relaxing ambiance.I ordered their mussels in sauce with zoodles. My order arrived with spaghetti instead of zucchini noodles, but the waitress noticed immediately and brought a whole new order of mussels and the correct noodles. So I ended up taking some home. Will definitely be coming back.

Patio is such a nice, relaxing hidden gem. Went here for a Saturday lunner and a drink with the family. Wasnt terribly crowded outside. service, staff and food were great. Tried the garlic and cheese stuffed bread round. Delicious! Blackened shrimp salad was very good, too! Kid friendly and overall a pleasant experience. Have been here a few times now and will definitely be back more!

Matteo’s has always been the familys pizza go-to, but tonight we also had an engagement dinner for my sister in law here and it was fantastic! The twinkly lights on the patio area really set the atmosphere for a beautiful, romantic ambiance and the service was excellent as usual! & everyone raved about the food, all was delicious and everyone said the setup was beautiful. A special shout out to Margot who assisted us from beginning to end of the dinner planning and to our servers Taylor and Tomas for making the evening unforgettable and for providing excellent service. This location was formerly a Steves Pizza. It has completely metamorphosed into a respectable location for a nice meal, rather than a day care that serves pizza. I was very pleased to see a much more mature aesthetic in place,with mixed media like wood, glass, and steel being used to accentuate what was formerly a location filled with 30-year old carpet and matching wood siding. The wine menu is definitely one of the best in Sacramento, and I was very impressed with the menu offerings themselves. A perfect balance was struck between quality ingredients and cost. Truffle and Asiago fries for $7? Yeah, thats what Im talking about. The wait staff were very friendly and appropriately dressed for such a venue as well. I will definitely be going back.

Great food and staff! Dinner with my niece was amazing, starting with the appetizer all the way through the main dish! The beet salad was complex and the oysters were phenomenal! We had our dish with a great Vernaccia from Italy. I work in the wine industry for a living, so I am very impressed with the nice wine selection! While our waiter was really great and attentive, he didnt really know what wine to recommend us for dinner, so I chose. My only suggestion would be, since Dave is so knowledgeable he could teach some of the waiters a little bit about recommendations for customers.Dave in the wine shop is amazing I love chatting with him I could stay for hours. He is a wealth of information and I always come away with at least one wine Ive never tried. I love his recommendations. See you next time!

Good place to gather with friends at lunch. Today was kind of quiet maybe due to rainstorm. I had a yummy Asian noodle salad and a bowl of very good chicken tortilla soup, hubby had a tasty vegan Southwest burger. Shared a fresh cone basket of sweet potato fries and lingered over jasmine tea while it poured outside. Service a tad leisurely but still a reliable place to dine.

An excellent blackened shrimp salad, and we shared the brownie sundae dessert. Just be prepared to pay cash or pick up the check. They wont split the check. Not a problem for us. We ate outside near the water feature. There was enough shade that it was comfortable even on a warm afternoon. We had a leisurely lunch; very European feeling in that we werent rushed to finish and move on. An excellent lunch experience.

Well trained wait staff and hostesses (which is increasingly rare these days.) Food has been fresh, hot (or cold depending on the dish) despite my preference for ordering to-go, and experience is quick and pleasant.Menu is relatively simple, with more adventurous specials which actually entice me that change every day or two. Atmosphere is lively but quiet enough to have a conversation even during the dinner rush on a weekend.Also, they have a little wine room, separate from the restaurant that has a nice mix of small run, obscure varietals, and some of the stand by mid/high-end varietals you can grab in stand alone bottle form or by the case.

When the weather is good, the patio is the place to be. Get a flight of wine, order a pizza or anything else you want and enjoy. Even on a hot summer day the patio is wonderful. Took my son for birthday dinner. Loved the tree covered back patio. We shared small arugula salad and crab cakes to start. The salad was perfect size for us and like the crunch of the pistachios. The vinegarette was just right acidity. Crab cakes had nice chunks of crab and were crispy on the outside. I had the lobster ravioli with crab and my son had the filet mignon stroganoff. The ravioli were good but could have used some lemon zest to brighten up the rich cream sauce. Little crab in the sauce. Son had not complaints about stroganoff. Seems that the entrées were cooked too soon and held under a lamp as the plates were extremely hot and there was a skin in top of the sauce of both dishes. Maybe timing was off. All in all an enjoyable meal. Ill be back.

Disappointing at best. Loved the wine shop and their wine steward - we went there to check out a specific wine, and their steward was extremely helpful (sommelier?). Things went downhill from there. We were given a two-top, when there were four tops available....fine. None of the four tops were ever filled. We bought a bottle of wine from their shop, then purchased a single glass of another wine we wanted to try, at $7 for a two ounce pour, and also ordered couple of martini’s. I figured at that point, we would not have to pay a corkage fee (which is only 15 buck....not bad). We ordered two ceasare salads and a pizza. The salads were pretty much what you would expect from the bags you buy at a grocery store. Meh. The pizza was pretty good, but the service at this point was non-existent. I was also would have expected maybe some bread with the salad? When the bill came, the corkage fee was not included. That seemed reasonable given how much we had spent on alcohol. But wait - the waiter came back with an update bill with the corkage fee. Not good. I like their wine shop, but I’ll never go back for dinner.
