The reviews aren’t lying. They’ve definitely gone down hill.Yeah your food is made fresh but they don’t cook the fries all the way and leave your fish/shrimp dripping with grease.Good customer service but extremely disappointed. I won’t be returningOH & i found poop in my shrimp.

Matt’s I’ve been coming for a while it usually is a hit or miss. Today the food was seasonless atleast that’s how it tasted. Might try my luck shopping around for a new fish place.

Food is fresh!! They follow your requests. I like to order my fillet of sole fried medium, they gave it to me like I ordered it! If you ordered enough fish they give you a small bottle of hot sauce. They do not accept EBT benefits. Cash or debit only.**Update: They will charge you extra to fry your fish if you choose to order your fish by the pound. Sounds unfair 😕 Just because you dont order a meal, they make you pay more.

Ordered 10 shrimp and fries meal... called later to order 2 pieces of cat sole. $20 was the total. Looked at the menu and asked why the 15.99 2-piece 8 shrimp meal wasnt offered over the phone.? The guy said because I was busy. Walked in to pick up my order. Only 1 person was sitting and waiting. Yes Foood was goodfries 🔥🔥Service was terrible

My chicken was a little freezer burnt, then the meat inside looked dark, I wasnt to thrilled...I hate when youre supposed to get 6 wings and they cut them in half instead to appear as if the quantity you should receive, same goes for fish why not give what youre advertising? I asked for 6 wings thats what I paid for not 3 wings cut in half. Very disappointing.

Havent been here in over a year but its a favorite local fish market since the 80s its been a great place to eat lunch or dinner all types of fresh 🐟 they also have excellent Louisiana oysters and giant sprain all seasoned and fried to perfection so after not going for a year its still all that!!!

Matts fish market has been around for ages . There fish to me is mid average . Prices are ok and the location is not the best and parking in the rear very small maybe three cars. Use to be heavy foot traffic not anymore always empty .I miss the days when you can go in these fish markets and you see some brothers cooking lol nine time out of ten you know its gonna be fire and the sides are gonna be cool because Betty done put her foot in it lo l no shade to anybody .

This is always my go to place for me. I order the catfish but I prefer Buffalo and wish they had more of that, but I can say that every time I go, the fish is always cooked right and seasoned well.

Overall the fish was kind of small compared to what Im normally getting from my normal fish market and a little lacking in flavor but honestly you cant beat their prices quality overall isnt bad it will always be my go-to fish market when Im too lazy to go to Broadway and Imperial.Today, 08/26/23, much better. Back to, Id say about 90% as far as food, taste, and quality still a little oily but better flavor today than my last visit

My family has been coming to Matts for generations, the fish is always fresh and seasoning on point.. They are the best fish fry place in California.. I now drive over 2 hours to get fish and shrimp from here and they never let me down... Food is always fried to perfection, coating seasoned tastefully and no coating falling off or missing either..

Yummy 1st time to try frog legs it was delicious.i I Also get the family pack catfish and jumbo shrimp. Staff friendly. Fast service 20mins or do what I did and call ahead to order comes with your own hot sauce bottle But tight on the tartar sauce. When paying with EBT but have $1 cash. Ordered a 5pc fish fillets and 13pc shrimp dinner combo its cost was 18.00 dollars, but when I sat to eat the had given me 5 pieces of fish not the fillets. What a rip-off I wouldnt have minded if they cut the fillets in half but to cut a fillet into 5 pieces thats just soo messed up no more im done with this place.

Recently went and was very disappointed.I ordered Red Snapper and it tasted like something else. And the hush puppies had too much jalapeño. And their hot sauce is not the red kind... its jalapeño flavor. Yuck.Back to my Asians

The clerk taking my order was helpful and friendly. When I asked about the different types of fish she was able to help with my choices. We drive out from Rancho Cucamonga and make it a tradition to eat at Matts every time we visit Compton!!
