2023-11-20 21:07:10Before visiting Tracy, I heard that there was good Afghan food and was very happy with Maza Kabob House. Ordered takeout. Portions were very generous and served 3 different days of meals for 2 people. We ordered the Bolani (pastry stuffed with potato and spices) which was delicious, especially with yogurt and chutney. Borani Banjan (eggplant with yogurt) is probably my favorite Afghan dish and did not disappoint. And of course had to get the lamb shank (which is a must in my opinion if you’ve never tried Afghan food before)- it comes with delicious rice with carrots and was a large portion. Good food from this spot!

2023-09-23 17:05:22Hidden little gem in Tracy! Clean, cute, friendly service, and outstanding food! The steak and chicken are so tender and full of flavor. When they ask if you want brown or white rice, its not actually brown rice...its seasoned rice. They had an appetizer special, potato cakes...this is a must try!!

2022-08-01 01:05:15I wanted to take my younger siblings to a nice lunch before they go back to school and maaaan did this place not disappoint! Upon walking in we were seated immediately our host was a very polite young man who gave us menus and gave us a few minutes to order. We ordered the bolani as an appetizer and got the Chapli (lamb) kabob, the mixed grill combo, and the chicken and shrimp combination platter. We also ordered some sodas (all sodas come with free refills which was nice as a lot of these sit down spots provide refills at a charge. Let me tell you, the food was absolutely delicious! The bolani was flaky, soft, and sumptuous! The lamb was tender and super flavorful! Im going to go out on a limb and assume the chicken was either grilled or cooked in a tandoor, but it came out tender, super tasty and not dry at all! The teka was super easy to cut through and absolutely delicious! The owner/chef came out and asked all the patrons in the restaurant if we were enjoying the food to multiple resounding yes responses and our waiter constantly checked on us providing napkins, refills, and anything else as needed. Ive been to a few Afghani restaurants and this is probably the best one Ive been to. 5/5 spot, will definitely be coming back with friends!

2023-02-15 00:01:25Wow! We had the pleasure of dining here twice in the last week. The food was so good my wife and I each ordered the same thing each time. She had the lamb shank and I had the mixed grill. The food was served hot, well-spiced and very delicious. The service was also very good -- kind and gracious. Highly, HIGHLY recommended!

2022-09-29 02:15:25Just tried to find a quick bite to eat and am glad I did. Food was fantastic and the staff very friendly. I let the waitress order for me and got a sample plate. All 3 meats were awesome and the price is good.Definitely recommend.

2022-12-19 07:16:28Mazaa Kabob is the real deal. I have never had kabob this good! The restaurant is small but well lit, lightly decorated with Afghan themed collages. After arriving around 4:20pm, we were quickly seated. We ordered Teka kabob, and Chocan & chicken kabob. Each order came with rice and a side salad. The quantity of food was surprisingly large considering the low price. But the quality was even better. This may be my first time in an Afghan restaurant, but I have had kabob in many cities. Dryness was in my expectations. Not in Mazaa Kabob! Teka kabob here is steak cooked like steak. I asked for medium rare, and got some of the most tender steak I have ever had. Chicken was still a little dry, but lamb was also very tender. Rice was flavored lightly, better suited for my taste compared to that in South Asia and Middle East places. I was also surprised by the naan. It appeared to be made of whole wheat, not as puffy as Indian naan. But it was still very soft, and had that special fragrance from whole wheat.Service was prompt and cordial. The chef even came out several times checking on guests. This is a place I will definitely come back when passing by Tracy again.

2023-07-07 02:51:34Everything about this place is great. The chef comes around asking how’s everything. And host so welcoming. Food was off the charts!! I definitely recommend the lamb loin chops! Those were probably the best I have. And I would say i go to a lot of places similar to this place and this place makes other look second best! Come eat here! Prices are not that bad as well and food amount was perfect, nice good portions! Best food! Excellent service!
