This is our favorite sushi place in town! Incredibly fresh, decent prices (compared to other nearby locations), and great service.We always get takeout, so can’t say how great the table service is, but they’re always very kind bringing us our food. Once when we had to wait a bit longer than usual to pick up our food, they even brought out edamame for us to eat while we waited!The special rolls and bento box are our favorites! During lunch they have 2 different lunch specials that are great deals.

Had a nice family brunch today. Started with the Hawaiian Poke salad which we shared. It was refreshingly tasty and slightly spicy. We ordered a variety of dishes from the menu ranging from bento boxes, hand rolls, temaki, and udon. The food and the service was great and we were very satisfied with our meal.

Best and freshest sushi in town! This place never disappoints. The sashimi and sushi are fresh and beautifully put together. Miso soup is a must try! Both the fire mussels and fresh Oysters are amazing appetizers..I promise youll want more. Tempura, beef teriyaki..the selection is endless. I recommend this place to everyone!

This is a great place for a night out. The sushi was okay and wished there was a little more flavor to their Rolls. Customer service was very good and overall I would go here again if I happen to be in the area.

Had the Chirashi Special (inc. salad, but no soup). The quality of the sashimi was excellent. However, the restaurant is severely short staffed. There was a line out the door on a Thursday at lunchtime, but only one waitress handling phone orders, take outs, and eat-ins (outdoor on the sidewalk). I had ordered pick up through DD, but still had to wait for almost 10 minutes while my completed order sat on the back counter; the waitress was busy on the phone taking an order.2/19/21 Update: Friday lunch today. There was zero wait time with two waitresses. Two item bento (sashimi x 3, nigiri x 2) isn’t quite enough - I had to make some miso soup at home to compensate. Next time, I’ll go for the 3 item bento or the bento special.3/3/21 Update: They removed the ringer at the front counter, so I had to wave down the waitress. Luckily, I was in and out in 2 minutes. Assorted sashimi lunch 12p for $18.95 is a good value/upgrade from large Poke Bowl for $15 elsewhere. The slices were smaller and one grade down from the chirashi special, but still excellent and well worth it. This may become my standard go-to order at Meiko.3/5/21 Update: Chirashi Regular was excellent! A good value at $22 for the quality. The Chirashi Special had better slices for $25, but the Regular was fine, nonetheless. Both Chirashi were a step up from the regular sashimi- plus you get vinegar rice and the tamago. I was in and out in 30 seconds on this Friday (two waitresses). I think the high turnover at Meiko ensures that you get fresh sashimi.7/16/21 Update: I have ordered the regular Chirashi Sushi two more times. The first time, I noticed a drop in quality in the sashimi/cuts and much heavier tasting rice. Not sure if the drop in quality was a fluke, I waited a couple weeks and then ordered again. Unfortunately, the same consistent drop in quality. Tastes like they changed chefs. Service is still fast and friendly. Dropping one star to 4.

Most of the Sushi is good with tons of options. Sometimes the salmon skin and crab rolls can be slimy but other than that good. The seaweed salad is some type of dyed green color you wouldn’t find in nature.

My wife and I thought everything looked good at first… after about 20 minutes of eating we both had horrible abdominal pain, sick to our stomachs, vomiting and diarrhea. I think it was from the crab salad mayo in the 49er roll or reheated rice- bacillus cereus poisoning…Be cautious…The salmon skin hand roll was not fresh, salmon skin tasted hours old, cold and dripping, was very very hard when biting into it, not tasty.Edamame was brown. Miso soup with two dinky pieces of tofu.The only thing that was good was the salmon sashimi, but because I got sick, I have to give 1 star.🤢🤮

This place was pretty awesome the food was amazing and we had wonderful service but the only reason I give it four stars instead of five is because the bathroom was disgusting and the lock to the stall was broken. They do have a really cool dining area with cozy semi-private dinning rooms and the dragon roll was definitely the best one Ive ever had!

After Tomos closed down, we werent sure where to go next for decent sushi, but a friend recommended Meiko - so far, weve been there twice in a month, and will definitely be going there again. Weve mostly stuck to the sushi, though a friend tried the tempura last night, and it was pretty good. If youre looking for veggie options, make sure to try the roll with sweet potato inside. It was a delicious treat, I was surprised at how good it was.

Sushi was very fresh, fairly priced, and delicious. I got the Viagara blast roll (lol... yes thats what it was called), and the Green Light roll. Wife got salmon delight, and the shrimp tornado.The tempura is light and nicely done, and they didnt over bake my baked roll, which was a very different experience for me.Service was very professional (slow because of covid). Manager was very nice.Cant wait to come back!!

This place is ALWAYS so friendly. For example, just today we picked up an order for lunch and when we got back we noticed one item was missing. They went above and beyond to make it right, sending a driver over with our missing item and even threw in something extra. Its so wonderful having such amazing service.The food is always hot and fresh and made with care. I leave this review as a Doordasher, and a warning to people planning on ordering Doordash or delivering for this location.I was left waiting for 30 minutes to pick up the order after i arrived. about 5 minutes into waiting i noticed bags lined up behind the bar with Doordash tags on them. I asked them if my order was ready and told them who i was delivering for and gestured towards the bag, I was told they were not ready and left alone at the reception area. I asked two more times while waiting, noticing the same bags sitting behind the counter this whole time.Eventually I grew fed up with sitting there and walked over to look at the bags behind the counter myself. Sure enough my orders were right there I asked the chef if i could take them, they said yes, and finally after waiting for 30 minutes when i didnt have to wait at all, I left. Im used to being left to wait at this business for 10 to 15 minutes but this was by far the worst experience ive had delivering doordash for a business.I delivered cold food to my customer 30 minutes later than i could have, wasting my time, and ruining the meal i delivered. My recommendation to the store is to find a new system to deal with dasher because clearly this business is not organized enough to receive dashers in a timely manner.

Haven’t visit Meiko for a while, it still have that enjoyable congenial experience like before. Especially when the sushi chef delivered our favorite special nigiri combination to our table and advise not dipping any sauce or wasabi and have a whole piece in one bite each time.

First, I love the atmosphere in there. They keep it nice and cool so its a great place to go on a hot summer day. Im not a fan of sushi, but they make my favorite beef teriyaki of all time. It is perfect and the rice is nice and sticky.

Dishes that they cook are tasty, but tables and chairs outside, plates and cups were dirty, so we need to clean it with wet wipes.Dont know if that as how they usually do or it is just an exception.Looks like most of their orders are for to go and they just used to that type, but it doesnt relieve their responsibility for cleaning their tableware properly.

This is my favorite sushi place of all time. My favorite roll is the bullet roll, though the mango fire is quite good here too. I order from here on doordash all the time, but even when you show up they have these cute little booths with doors for privacy, and you signal them to come with a button inside the booth.

First I must say Ive had sushi Japanese Style all my life in America and Japan. Japanese sushi rice is specially prepared with sweet rice wine and some places with a touch of Shoyu. The rice is best served at room temperature. If its cold it mutes the flavors of the other ingredients.I prefer the Japanese preparation, hence only four stars. However, the ingredients are fresh and well prepared and beautifully served. The sushi is creative and delicious. And the rice is at the perfect temperature. And, Ive enjoyed many of the other items on their menu and will return.

Some very nice fish and some missteps. Beautiful salad, delicate dressing, excellent tea. $14 for slightly gritty mediocre uni tarted up with shiso, but the salmon was excellent. California rolls cut too thick, OK rice. Server never cleared the dishes for either of the folks at the bar, even after they left. One of the chefs didnt close the sliding doors on his fish fridge, letting them dry out. TV with sports on.

The food is good but the service is terrible. I was going here 2 times a week for lunch but never again after this week. I was seated and waited for the waitress to take my order and waited and waited long after Im sitting there at the sushi bar another guy comes in sits down and the waitress knows him so she skips by me and asks him What would you like to eat? I asked the sushi chef is it not first come first served here? This is the worst example of bad customer service but not the only one. Id say at least 50 percent of the time their service is horrible. Id recommend avoiding this place and finding a sushi restaurant that deserves your hard earned money. Because these people dont.

Every time I go here, the food is excellent and the service is equally excellent. Ive been eating here for over 10 years, since I was in high school, and the staff still remember me from back then. I keep coming back because theyre that good. I would recommend Meiko to anyone looking for the best sushi in the tri-valley area. Their specialty is everything, because everything here is delicious.

I order bento box to go. No where on the menu does it say no miso soup when to-go. The pricing should not be the same if you are taking an item off. They also did not say it would not be included. Went to this place randomly without looking it up. Was very plesantly suprised! They have a great variety of menu options. This place has a couple yakitori options and other unique appetizers that remind me of izakaya restaurants. Definetly more choices than the average sushi restaurant. The fire dragon roll had a slightly smokey flavor and tasted delicious! Service was also great. They have buttons on the table in the rooms to call for service but I never needed to use it. Wish I could come here more often!

Amazing Japanese food at very competitive prices. Lunch specials sell for as low as 8.99 for a bento box with mixed tempura, gyoza, chicken teriyaki, California rolls, vegetable salad, and a bowl of rice. The salmon teriyaki is delicious and their shrimp tempura is amazing with shrimp meat from end-to-end. Customer service is excellent.

I go here pretty regularly with my family and the servers literally know what we drink and what we order, we barely say anything. they just know. which is great. but just recently, they’ve been adding wasabi where it isn’t shown or even when it’s not requested. and it’s kinda gross so if you can’t see wasabi or anything you don’t usually like on your sushi, MAKE SURE YOU SAY, “no wasabi at all please!” i had to learn the hard way...
