Very delicious Chinese food and glad the quality is consistent from location to location. Only issue with this location is they don’t seem to honor any Yelp reservations - I even had a confirmation but the host only had a paper with pencilled in reservations so make sure you call to reserve.

Recommended for the Peking Duck.Table side service was expertly done. The duck was fresh and crispy, cooked to perfection. The accompanying garnish and sauce were superior, well cut veggies, thick sauce, upscale sugar.The other dishes were fine, but not excellent. We had the black pepper roasted beef, which was slightly overdone and not fully trimmed. Still quite tasty.The greens were good, but not cut as finely as they would be for highest quality, and the seasoning was just a bit heavy.Roasted eggplant was sweet and spicy and delicious while piping hot.The Jasmine tea was good quality and went brilliantly with the duck.Service was friendly and flawless.Our party agrees that the best way to enjoy this restaurant is to splurge on the duck, and get a side vegetable. The other options are fine, but not at the same level as the duck.

Came in with a party of 10 on a weekday.Not as busy as we thought it would be. The food itself was alright, but I would say for the pricing listed, it couldve been slightly better. Probably wouldnt come again as this is a family style orient restaurant and the food quality is only slightly better than what I can find outside for a 10-20% reduce pricing.I would say, if you want to eat a nicer meal with a good ambiance, give this place a try once. Maybe youll find it better than me.Edit 9/5/22: still wouldnt recommend this place if youre going for the signature dish. The duck, if you order more than one way of preparation seems to use other peoples duck who only ordered one way of preparation. This would mean that your other duck dishes are someones leftovers, in a sense.

This place is beautifully decorated. The service is excellent. However, it is pricey.The duck sliders which were the equivalent of Peking Duck, were very good albeit the duck skin was not crispy.The Kung Pao chicken was superb although inundated in peanuts. The sauce was delicious.The rice with shrimp was light and fluffy and not saturated with soy sauce as is all too common in so many other eateries.The sweet and sour pork was lack luster though the meat itself was extremely well prepared and grizzle free. However, the sauce tasted heavily like tomatoe which depressed the overall flavor of the dish.The food is good and their menu extensive. But what makes this place special are its visuals.

Was not impressed with the price, quality and taste of the food. I ordered 3 dishes and it was over $60 which is really expensive.#1 Dan Dan noodle was size of a small rice bowl . Lack flavor#2 bamboo shoot was tough and chewy#3 chili chicken had 50% filler with French friesFor the price they shouldn’t be so stingy on the quality and quantity of the foodI probably wouldn’t want to go again unless they make some significant changes

Came here on a Friday night with 4 other coworkers and there was no wait. Very beautifully decorated interior. Some private dining rooms available too. We ordered the full duck to share, beautiful presentation. Duck was a little fatty for my taste but that’s how it is. We also had the scallops with vermicelli and cucumber, the presentation wasn’t as nice as in the menu but very tender. The Mongolian beef dish was also quite delicious.

Nice Chinese restaurant. Dishes are nicely presented and their service are great! It could be a bit over-priced but the overall experience is great. The roasted duck was a bit too fat. Crab (steamed with Chinese wine & egg) was great. Will try some other dishes next time :)

I didnt know anything about this place going. All the other places had a long wait bc of limited seating and covid precautions. Got seated quickly and very nice interior. Menu isnt like a usual Chinese restaurant so we just picked a few things. Size of orders are larger than normal but very pleasantly surprised- plates were very tasty. A bit expensive but not crazy once I actually tasted the quality- it supports it.

This an great upscale restaurant for a finer Chinese Dining experience. It is beautifully decorated in a modern traditional setting. Its is a great place for those special family gatherings, birthday celebrations, or taking that special someone out.Their food is excellent! Its fresh, tastey, and well presented. Some dishes are spicy but it done flavorfully with a medium heat. Their fried whole fish is a piece of art and it tasted as good as it looked.Their service was excellent! They were on top of everything. They gave you new plates and filled your water glasses as you dine. Yeah...You can say it is pricey but... its a fair price for finer dining.

We came here labor day Sunday, so it was a little busy.We ordered, pork bun, wonton soup, sautéed steak and water spinach.Overall the food was delicious and satisfying I love the taste of the wonton soup very simple and clean, although I expected there portions to be bigger, since its the usual for most of sit down Chinese restaurants, my soup was in a small cup and that cost 7.99 I believe...this place is a lil pricey, but nevertheless we enjoyed the food. The pork bun was sooo soft and flavorful too.I took off one star because the water spinach took so long we had to cancel the order... and we waited a long time to get my husbands sautéed steak too....This place is known for their duck, I would like to try that next time...

At the promenade of Westfield Santa Anita mall lies this wonderful restaurant. I never knew about this restaurant until me and wife just stumbled into it when we went to Chicos.The food is delicious but the serving is small. I ordered 6 items and all doesnt disappoint.If we only knew about the duck, we could had ordered it. But as always, I am going to be a repeat customer.

If you dont speak/read Chinese at all, this is a great place without compromising flavors. Big pictures in menus and servers speak perfect English. Got one of my orders pretty late in the meal, pretty much was done. They offered to just cancel the order, but we took it. They gave us free dessert for the mishap. The late dish happened to be my favorite, eggplant. It was really well cooked, had good caramelization, nice bite, good ma and spice flavor... Too bad I was only able to eat 2 pieces after it was freshly made. Duck tongue wasnt that good here, had better at other places in the area. Shuizhuyu is pretty good, fish is soft and tender, fluffy(? Cant seem to think of a word for it). Overall great place, but pricey, and the spice and ma level is a little weak for me. Ambience is classy and modern, a good place for more formal dining.

Excellent food and good service: we went there to celebrate the Chinese New Year. The wait was about 1 hour and 15 minutes. We ordered duck, edd rolls, noodles and country styled sliced pork. The food arrived quite quickly to our surprise. The service was good and the place is clean as always. We are coming back.

Make sure that you like spicy food if you go here (which should be a given anyways if you know something about Szechuan cuisine).The ambience inside is nice and refreshing.

Conveniently located in Westfield Santa Anita Mall in Arcadia. This restaurant is gives a modern take to traditional Chinese cuisine. They have an extensive menu and everything looked delicious that it was a hard to choose. However, their specialty is the peking duck and the waiter warned us that it takes an hour to make from the time your order is put in. It was worth it though as it is one of the best Ive tasted here in the US. That hour wait isnt even bad because by the time we were able to try out all the other dishes it came out anyways.The restaurant has a modern and a bit more expensive vibe to it and its definitely worth it.

Excellent quality food with a good amount of heat to lend itself as authentic Sichuan food. This is certainly one of the more fancier chinese restaurants with a matching and ambiance. It’s family style dining with ala carte items averaging $15. The eggplant is great and the house spicy beef is delicious. The heat might not be up to par to some other Sichuan restaurants in the SGV, but that could be because you don’t want the heat to cover up the quality of the ingredients. All in all, a solid upper tier Sichuan restaurant.

Meizhou Dongpo restaurant is one of my favorite restaurants for spicy Sichuan food while I was working in Beijing. Named after one of the oldest area in Sichuan province, the restaurant serves family style Sichuan food. I’ve always seen long lines in front of their restaurants. I remember they opened their first restaurant when I was sent to Beijing to work there in 1996.The food they served were excellent at the time when Sichuan food was ranked very low in Beijing due to its homey style of cooking. In early days, Beijing people don’t eat too spicy food. Over time, Meizhou Dong po adopted less spicy cooking and became one of the most popular restaurants in Beijing. They were the first restaurant implemented ISO 9000 quality management in the restaurant business to manage their 12 restaurants and 7,000 employees.The Arcadia location is a new addition which opened its door few years ago in the Arcadia mall. The restaurants in North America deployed plush interior design catering high end clientele. While majority of dinings are done in the open area, the restaurant also offers many private rooms to add prestige in dining entertainment.In addition to the traditional Sichuan dishes on the menu, the restaurant added Peking duck dish which became their anchored dish for the restaurant.For our lunch today, we ordered half a Peking Duck for two of us and a popular Mapo tofu as well as a Dan Dan noodle dish.The duck was excellently roasted with crispy skins. This dish very much matched the Peking duck flavor and texture I had in Beijing. Although the tofu and the Dan Dan noodle were very authentic, they were too spicy for me. I don’t remember having such a spicy flavor for these dishes back in their Beijing restaurants.Overall, the food are good especially the Peking duck. The prices are definitely on the high side for Sichuan food.

The signature dish tastes very bad, the bamboo shoots have almost no taste. After redoing, the sauce is piled on the bamboo shoots, which is particularly unpalatable. The most deadly thing is that there are vegetable worms in the duck soup. They are not big or small. It can be seen from the picture. After calling the waiter, the plate was quickly taken away. Fortunately, I took pictures in advance. The checkout waived our $5 vegetable worm soup, $5 duck rack, and indescribable bamboo shoots. But I got sick all the way. When I asked him at the checkout if this was the only way to deal with it, he told me that it was inevitable that there would be insects on the dishes this season. I just want to pay for a clean and bug free meal, I dont care if you can. Personal experience is for everyone to avoid lightning. I hope that the restaurant will wash dishes seriously and pass the hygienic cooking skills as soon as possible.

The quality and taste of food here were terrible. Most of the dishes are pre-made and the ingredients are very unfresh and unappetizing. Service was not good. When you eat there, no one offers to serve or even refill your water. It doesn’t worth its price at all. Never go there again.

We went to this restaurant with friend for birthday dinning in last night, we brought our own red wine, the waiter said that (in Chinese language )they need charge 20$ for open it, I’m agree with that immediately and respectfully, but few minutes later, he come back again and he said: we have our own wine, you can’t take it. And then he said if you drink your own coke, we need charge you 10$/bottle, actually they sell it for 2.5$/bottle. I’m totally angry with that. It’s really poor service. They destroyed our happiness birthday time. I can’t get any respect from their so meaning service. By the way, we still pay 30$tips, totally we cost about 340$, we don’t care that much about price,but it’s overvalue place, I’ll never come back again.

The food was good, but there were a few problems:-Some menu options werent offered.-Some menu items didnt match with the names on the order form. It was very confusing.-We ran into out of stock problems with things we ordered, more than once.-I got the pork belly dish (forgot name). I would loved it, if not for the sauce. It was sweet, salty, and sour. It was way too powerful, and ruined the dish.-That sauce happened to be on almost all of the dishes we ordered.I also got the jellyfish dish as well as that white fungus dessert soup, which I loved.To summarize the Marinated jellyfish ... One of our go to restaurants! I highly recommend the roast duck, very flavorful and overall a great experience to eat. You can wrap them in the pancakes with cucumber and sauce, and it is delicious. The soups are really great as well. The restaurant itself is gorgeous and very aesthetically pleasing, the service is wonderful as well. It is a bit pricey, but definitely worth it. This is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants in the 626. Although its on the pricier side, the food is consistently good. Ive tried most of their dishes and my favorites are the duck, mung bean noodle (has numbing spice), Sichuan poached fish (also numbing), the squirrel fish (fried and drenched in a sweet and sour sauce), and bang bang chicken (also numbing).

The Mapo Tofu had good flavor, although be warned, it is quite spicy. Pea sprouts were simple, yet very tasty, they had a nice, light flavor and were slightly crunchy. The eggplant was probably my favorite- very delicious, slightly spicy. Some pieces were tender and absorbed with sauce while others were slightly less cooked but still perfectly tasty, so you could taste the umami eggplant flavor. Half roast duck was also delicious- came with spring onions and cucumbers that added a fresh touch to the richness of the duck and the salty sauce.Service was good as well, nothing extremely special, but the servers were polite and attentive.The atmosphere is nice. It is a big, spacious room. The restaurant is perfect for any occasion- catching up with friends, date night, business dinner, or casual get together.The only thing is the price is a bit steep, but portions are generous.

Ok the food here is good. I like how they were not too salty nor too sweet on dessert, just how I like it. 🙂 However, the 2 stars were taken off because the waiter at the end of check came and ask for tips 😑 NOT because I didnt leave any tips but it was under the teacup in CASH separated with my credit card payment.I would expect more from a high-end restaurant like this, and I felt a bit insulted because he probably wouldnt ask this to non-Asian customers 😏 I actually NEVER Ever had any dining experience would ask tips even if I dont leave it because the service was not good. This was the FIRST time. So I am still a bit shocked. IMO the management of this restaurant should step up and re-train the staffs, at least let them know it is considered rude (here) to ask for tips, because the customers reserve the rights to give out service fee, depending on how the service is at the time.

The restaurant is absolutely beautiful and the staff is friendly, helpful and fast. The food is mostly great too.We ordered the duck which was cooked very well with a perfect, crisp skin and succulent meat. The fried fish we ordered wasnt as good though. It was cooked well but I feel that the sauce was too sweet. By far the star of the meal was the Dongo Pork. I usually come here as a big group of out town guests like Japanese doctors or Chinese investors. The Peking Duck is clean and of course rich with taste. I’ve eaten at Meizhou Dongpo back in Beijing for multiple times. However, this one in Arcadia is particularly disappointing. The Kung Pao chicken is too sweet and not spicy enough. It almost tastes like the fake Kung Pao chicken you get from Panda Express. The squirrel fish is way too dry and it doesn’t feel fresh. Overall, the food was disappointing and quite pricey.

This is the worst Chinese restaurant in Los Angeles area, not only for the outrageous price, but also the poor quality of foods. We have been eating out a lot, especially Chinese food. The foods taste so so, but the prices are unreasonable. A plate of bean sprouts costs $16, and very small amount. A plate of fish costs almost $60, which you can have for less than $30 in another fine Chinese restaurants. The restaurant is located in a shopping mall where the rent is definitely higher. But even with the high maintenance costs, this place is just not worth it. Avoid it if you can.
