2018-08-01 01:47:48CASH ONLY. Great place for your Filipino food cravings. A star above your usualhole in wall place! Spacious place with lots tables, chairs and TV for people to eat. They not only serve the usual breakfast silog items but have desserts and entrees. They do catering too! Nice portion of food except had only 3 pieces of bones attached with small pcs of beef. Will not get these ever even though it was warmed in no microwave!

2018-04-25 02:00:57Mekeni Restaurant & Karaoke Bar is your typical turo-turo Filipino restaurant in Daly City. In addition to the steam table operation it also has an all-day made to order breakfast menu (Silog). Unlike other turo-turo places Mekeni is a decent sized restaurant. Ive been here about half a dozen times for lunch and each time have found it to be about half full which Ive taken as a good sign. It is located on Mission in an area where finding parking would be impossible during weekdays but its not too difficult to find a spot in the lot just ahead of the restaurant on weekends. The dishes in the steam table operation rotate but they always seem to have at-least one Chicken item (adobo, caldereta etc.) so I stick to getting a one item combo to-go ($5). They always try to push the chicken BBQ when I ask for chicken but unlike Fil-Am where you can see them freshly grill the BBQ behind the counter, Im not sure of the freshness of the BBQ at Mekeni so I generally avoid that. The taste of the food can be described as authentic, which means that it comes certified to give you a heart attack at 60 if you eat this every day, but its fine for once a week that I restrict myself to. Price-wise its about 10% more expensive than Fil-Am the other turo-turo place that I generally rotate with Mekeni. I like the food here better but pick Mekeni for the freshly grilled BBQ. The only drawback that I can think of is that they dont seem to have any beef items on the weekends but that is a minor problem that will not prevent me from coming back periodically.

2022-02-14 20:30:01Things have noticeably changed since the pictures displayed were taken. A good scrub down of the place is clearly needed. Food quality seems to have gone down significantly. Of the many Filipino lunch spots in Daly City, this may not be the place of choice.

2019-11-11 07:33:40Very affordable. Great food. Great service. They cater parties too with free delivery. They have several assortment of Silogs and many other Philippine dishes. Their menu are different everyday so you just have to call ahead to find out if they have what your craving for. It is best to come early in the day because the food ran out sooner on some days.

2020-11-08 01:16:38It reminded me of when I was a young girl and would go to visit my mama and papa. Papa always threw down in the kitchen, from adobo to caldareta! This place is one to go to for authenticity. But they are CASH ONLY. So be sure to hit an ATM beforehand. Enjoy! Highly recommend.
