My husband took me there for my birthday and and invited his sister. Food here is delicious. Its setup like an excursion you would pay for on a Cruise line but well worth it because the point is to have an exotic getaway from the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles within Los Angeles. Maannn, tasted so good, I bought seconds.

Im surprised this cafe is ranked 4.6.We ordered crispy chicken and classic egg Benedict.The crispy chicken was clearly not fried with fresh oil and we had to return it immediately because the colour was dark brown. I asked for medium poached egg, they brought fried eggs and when I asked them they said because I asked for medium poached egg they had to fry it! I think the solution was to leave the egg in the boiling water for another 30 seconds not to change the recipe entirely without informing.I should mention they removed the crispy chicken out of bill, we paid for the egg Benedict and the coffee. The coffee was very good but definitely not worth it!From the photo of the potatoes its clear that the frying oil is not fresh because food turns dark brown! And the whole cafe smells like burned oil.

This place was great! We came on a very busy time on Saturday and joined the waitlist. It said like an hour and half so my friend went across the street for drinks first but we got notified within a half hour. So don’t be deceived!We came for the waffles of course and we got the peach waffles with vanilla ice cream. It was delicious! I definitely want to come back for more brunch and lunch!

First I have to say, what a perfect name for a restaurant, diner, etc… It was my birthday and my girlfriend told me to pick anywhere for breakfast. Being that we were visiting from out of town I had been searching places for a few days and this place caught my every single time. So lets get to the food. The food was absolutely amazing. I ordered the “You Make Me Wake Up Happy” waffle meal. Everything in that dish was prepared perfectly. From the eggs down to the maple butter on the waffle. The service was constant, always checking on us making sure everything was to our satisfaction but not bothering us too much. I (we) loved the ambiance of the place, it was everything I was expecting and a little more to be honest. Its cozy, great music, can be a little load but thats expected when in a small restaurant. Since I have been home I have nonstop been talking about this place to anyone and everyone that will listen about my (our) trip. I cant wait to go back down and especially revisit this restaurant. Job well done, tip my hat to the cooks, the servers and everyone else working here.

One of my favorite breakfast options in Los Angeles. We had to wait 25 minutes to be seated for brunch, but the wait was worth it. Inside has a great atmosphere, very homely, and had some great music as well. Service was really fast and the menu is very large. They specialize in waffles but everything else we had was also delicious. Parking in the area can be a bit tricky but we were able to find street parking a block away. Its pretty small on the inside so thats one major reason for the longer wait times.We ordered the Eggs Benedict and the You Make Me Wake Up Happy. The Eggs Benedict was one of the better ones that I have had in the last few years. I chose to add avocado, which really added to the taste but honestly the hollandaise was especially good and the eggs were perfectly runny. The waffle that comes with You Make Me Wake Happy was terrific. I can see why they are known for their waffles because theyre honestly great. It is a bit expensive compared to some other places close by, but I feel it is worth it.Overall a terrific breakfast and I would recommend to anyone, whether you are a large party or small.

Absolutely loved my visit. The food is all really good and fresh, and this is especially true for their waffles! They have many different kinds to pick from but I went with the Matcha Waffle, and personally it was one of the best waffles I have ever had! I would definitely recommend you pay a visit and if you like matcha get the Matcha Waffle! Some other things to try would definitely be their mimosas and their potatoes. Excellent place!

Not a horrible experience, not a fantastic one either, but the pictures look better than the food tasted. Service was cool, and again, not bad, not excellent either. Wouldnt necessarily go back but wouldnt tell anyone not to go... dont get the peach&waffle :()...chicken was okay, it definitely saved the day!

Tried this new brunch spot and I absolutely loved it! The food is great and presentation is wonderful! We tried 4 different dishes and they were all tasty. The crispy French toast is amazing pact with so much flavor 🫶🏽 Our server was Ian but we also had like 3 other servers always checking in on us which I appreciate because most restaurants nowadays disregard the service. I will be coming back! Parking will be street parking so good luck! Also if you’re a group of three or more they will automatically charge the gratuity.

I finally make it here without having to wait in a long line on a Monday morning 😌 This restaurant is so small, no wonder the line can get very long on weekends.- Fried Chicken and Waffle 🧇. Unique and delicious!! Unlike other fried chicken waffle, theirs uses Thai tomyum seasoning which makes it more aromatic 😉 Fried chicken is juicy and crispy, every ingredient eaten together makes a perfect bite yums 😋- White Truffle Toast 🍞. Amazingg!! ♥️ I loveee that this dish is not too heavy. The scrambled egg is soft!! They are very generous with the truffle and cheese. 🥰Love this restaurant! I cant wait to go back (obviously not on the weekends 😂).

Everyone from the host, servers, bussers, were WONDERFUL. The food was delicious beyond belief. I recommend coming early to be put on the waitlist, but the wait list wasn’t too long. We sat inside and it’s so pretty in there. The bathroom was sparkling clean. Our waters were never empty, and empty dishes were whisked away almost immediately. I will DEFINITELY be back here. The vibes are immaculate. ❤️

The wait was about 20 mins. Small spot but very busy. Great friendly staff. Mimosas were delicious, I had a pineapple and regular orange one and they did not disappoint. I ordered the English Breakfast and my friend ordered the sandwich. Only issue I have is no parking, you have to park in the street but it was worth it.

Second time brunching at Met Her At A Bar this past weekend, and they delivered on the flavors yet again. This time I ordered the Khai Jiao and it really hit the spot for me. I love that this dish is on the menu. As someone who can eat rice any time of day, having it for brunch is quite unexpected. Ive only ordered this dish once at a Thai restaurant, because I usually go for noodle dishes. The maple sausage and housemade sriracha will keep me coming back for their version. My partner got the chorizo toast which lives up to its unforgettable name; however, I thought one single toast was on the light side, another piece would have been perfect. Keep the same amount of chorizo, and spread it out over two pieces of toast. That said, I would still order it again in the future. Overall a fun spot for brunch and the food is delish.

I see where this place always has such a long line. I wish they did bottomless mimosas, but they do offer $2 discount after your first one and allow mixing of flavors. Great menu to choose from and truly exquisite service. We loved our host and had multiple servers helping out. I ordered the mushroom waffle sandwich which I hadn’t seen before. Had the Vegan Salted Caramel Waffle and it’s the best waffle ever!!! I simply wish I ordered two plates because I didn’t want to stop eating it at all!Caramel and toasted coconut were drizzled on top and a cute flower was placed there as well. They have great coffee, a variety of food delights including some vegetarian/vegan options.The servers are friendly, the service was fast and the ambiance here is amazing. Felt like I was in my own kitchen hanging with family and friends. We went on a Saturday morning and were seated right away. It got busier as the morning went on. But the wait didnt look too long for new patrons because there is indoor and outdoor seating available and bonus, you can order take-out if you dont want to hang out. I heard about this place from a local friend and told me the relationship between met him at a bar and met her at a bar - immediately peaked my interest so I made time to ensure my boyfriend and friend made a trip here with me on a weekend brunch. We put our names down on the waitlist and walked around a bit - we waited for about 20 minutes before they sat us down outside (we asked for the next available table).For drinks we ordered thai iced tea, matcha latte and peach mimosa - all of which we really liked. Im a bit picky with my matcha latte but was quite satisfied with this one.For food we ordered (and recommend) the fried chicken and waffle, crispy french toast and chorizo toast.10/10 would recommend!

I fall in love with this place. It is a small but cozy place where you can enjoy the tastes of the waffles. This place has a great selection of food and everything is too tasty. My favorite two so far are Chicken Waffle and White Truffle Toast. Those two taste great! Chicken Waffle comes with maple syrup, butter, and spicy sauce. If you like to spice the way I do, you have to try it! My favorite drink there is Thai tea. Its sweet but not extra sweet. The staff is nice and friendly. They serve food fast, you do not have to wait for so long. The atmosphere there is so cozy.

The earlier you come in the morning, the less waiting time you experience.We came here the first time at 9:30 am, waited 5 mins, and got seated right away, but outside, we requested to move inside.The music was not bad in the morning, but it got louder due to the noises of people talking, and even the server came and screamed into my ears to ask what I would like to order. I jumped out of my chair because of the intensity of the volume. OMGThe foods are unique and recommended to get the chicken waffle, its BOMB!If you come after noon, the waiting for a party of 2-4 will be 45 mins to an hour, so be aware of this. I came here around 2ish and waited 20 mins which wasnt wrong to get seated at the window seat.Parking is around the area and may take up to 5 mins or less due to heavy traffic and busy flow.

Where should begin. Our host was awesome. He was friendly and we love his vibe. Our server Maggie was amazing. She checks on us periodically and had a smile on her face the entire time. That shows that she loves what she do. The initial gentleman was great. He make sure we had water at all times.The manager stop by to chat with my 5 yrs old and offer him some strawberries. The food tasted fine, but it was very noticeable that everything was pre-prepared. Food was not warm like it came right off the grill. As an example we orded a side of the country potatoes, they were room temperature at best, and they had lost any crispy texture that they once had. The same goes with the crunchy French toast, it was slightly warm, but nothing like fresh french toast should be. There was no crunch due to it sitting so long pre-prepared. We were served within 10 minutes of ordering, so while the service was super fast, the food was not fresh and made to order. Pretty unfortunate because if it werent for that the place would be great, but to pay those prices and not have freshly prepared food is a bit disappointing.Great service, food tastes okay but it is prepared before you order. We came in the afternoon on a Sunday, which was busy, so we had about a 40 minute wait.They had turkey bacon as a substitute and made my breakfast butter-free no problem! Gold-standard for Cafes. Service was quick and prompt, and the menu was expansive and catered for all tastes. As an Australian, it was very comforting to have a Flat White coffee on the menu, which is usually not part of the american coffee lexicon.The Flat White, whilst not the best Ive ever had, was still pretty good, which is more than most american cafes offer.I ordered the Waffletella, which was quite tasty, and was fairly sized in accordance with the price. Really enjoyed it, and it was presented in a visually pleasing way that made the experience all the better.This Cafe is abundantly alive, and the atmosphere is amazing, I would recommend it to anyone.

Was looking for a place to have lunch while in LA and stumbled on this place on yelp. I read a little about the owners story, read the menu and decided to check it out. We got lucky and found parking right out front, otherwise parking is a bit scarce. Inside was packed but we were sat fairly quickly. The wife ordered a pineapple mimosa and I ordered an IPA. Both were good. For lunch the wife went the brunch route w/a breakfast sandwich and I went w/the crispy chicken sandwich, after our server said he loved the fried chicken, and fries. Fries were on point! The sandwich was pretty good, although it was chicken thigh and I prefer breast. Pretty cool spot. Check em out!

I went here to hang out with my friends for brunch. I was surprised with the food here. The fusion flavor was so good. With Thai interior design and photos of the farmers, I feel like having brunch somewhere overseas. A refreshing feeling! The food and services are good. Little twist like green tea latte (hot or iced) is a perfect drink for green tea fans. I love this spot. On the weekend it is packed, expect to wait to be seated. Went for my Bday Brunch on a weekday and were seated quickly. The staff are courteous and attentive. Interestingly, theres the Met Him at the Bar counterpart across the road. Cool and hip area, so since Im from New York, I can definitely compare this area to the Chelsea neighborhood. They dont have pancakes if I recall cause I think my husband was a bit disappointed about that. Their food are really good, although Im not sure if I like the taste of the syrup itself - or could just be that it tasted weird with my waffle sandwich. Latte was fine with pretty, simple latte art. Should get their fresh squeezed orange juice for sure! Iwould definitely come back and order the other things on the menu. It is a bit on the pricier side but its La Brea so its not toooooo bad haha

The food was delicious, waffle was soft and they have Turkey bacon, a huge plus for me. The fruit were fresh and the staff was amazing. The pineapple mimosa is amazing! There were tiny bugs flying around our food however and it became annoying. The parking is ok, theres a parking garage near and its about a 2 minute walk from there to the restaurant. You must be vaccinated to be seated there however and theres a 3% charge added to your total. Otherwise, good food and staff, just the flying bugs.

I had an avocado toast with poached eggs aside. It was delicious. I think they added apple puree and it made the taste less boring. Its perfect for a late brunch. Mimosas are ridiculously priced for cheap champagne and pulp (not even mixed with juice but straight pulp, see peach and OJ mimosas pictured). Food is also ridiculously priced with 2 pieces of bacon at $4. We ordered the French toast (not terrible but bland and too sweet with added toppings of Nutella and berries), side of eggs, bacon, and sausage, and the chicken pesto sandwich (boyfriend did not care for) with truffle fries ($5 upgrade charge) plus the 3 mimosas we had all came to $104. I live in the suburbs and come to LA every few months, safe to say I will not be returning here and would recommend you go somewhere else for an enjoyable brunch. I came here for my bday and hope this review can save someone from the same mistake.

We had scheduled other breakfast spots, but ended up scrapping those plans in order to return here. Have been on the hunt for similar chicken & waffles in NYC ever since.

Wow- I was skeptical at first when I saw all the great reviews but- this place was amazing. The wait was a bit long- but I think it had to do with the holiday- it was a 45 min wait before we got seated.My friend and I had the chicken and waffles and the waffle Benedict. The chicken was tender and juicy and I gotta love the Thai basil on top. Have to say both were very good- also saw the crispy French toast off our neighbors table and that looked pretty bomb too. Also got the truffle waffle fries not bad- but they were a bit soggy and not truffly enough haha.

I am constantly getting inconsistent orders when I order....I get the wake up happy and I never know if Im getting butter with my waffles or not, 9 times out of 10 Im not. Met Her At A Bar is one of LAs known restaurant to go to. I heard about it, and always passed it on La Brea! But finally me and some friends decided to eat here for breakfast/brunch! But Im definitely coming back to seat inside cause Im pretty sure from the outside in, it looked like a vibe but compact! We all got a round of Sangrias it was delicious and just right, I recommend. I asked the waiter what was mostly ordered she said the chicken and waffles. So here I amOrdering that and it was pretty good all the seasoning and I love that it was a little spicy with the sauce on the side! The menu seems very extensive, Im still curious about the story behind it so that I also need to figure out! But we will be back to dine again, for sure!

Desperate for some brunch, we found that Grub Hub delivered this place and were all in when we saw Nutella on the menu.We ordered breakfast tacos, crispy french toast, now this is love waffle, bacon (crispy), breakfast potatoes. Our eyes were bigger than our stomachs but we wanted to taste a little of everything. The food was DELISH, even with a delivery that made it not so hot but we did not care. I came here on my birthday and when my wife mentioned it to one of the servers she got me a glass of prosecco on the house. It was so sweet!The service here was on point and the food delicious. We had breakfast here at about 11 am on a Wednesday. As we sat down, the server asked us if we wanted anything to drink. We said no, and as we were looking at the menu another server asked the same. A third person took our order. We ordered the breakfast sandwich and chorizo toast. They were both ok. The eggs on the breakfast sandwich were cooked well, and so was the bacon. The chorizo toast was weird looking and tasting.The restaurant is small and there are so many employees. That made it feel chaotic. There were boxes of food piled up near the entrance to the kitchen. The decor was random and outdated. The place needs a makeover and batter storage.An 18% surcharge is added to all checks. Our check for two dishes and water was $37. Ouch.

Fantastic place. I probably had the best French toast of my life here. Everything was really delicious, and cared for. The presentation of the plate was incredible. Nice decoration and little alternative touch with the addition of the cornflakes. I had an iced, black coffee, and a fresh orange juice. If you enjoy sitting within centimeters of other people and being able to hear every word of every conversation around you, then this place is perfect for you. My friend and I came here on a busy Saturday morning for brunch and were initially brought to the packed bar area, presumably to sit on the laps of the people on bar stools. When I told the hostess we would just wait for a table and didnt want to squeeze in at the bar, a spot for us happened to open up at a long table near the entrance. Someone cleaned us a spot and threw down a stack of napkins, forks, and knives. We sat, and I immediately felt extremely uncomfortable due to the loudest woman Ive ever heard in a restaurant, sitting elbow-to-elbow with us. I couldnt concentrate on anything and wanted to leave, but I had examined the menu ahead of time online and really wanted to try one of their delicious-sounding dishes.I will say that I have been to plenty of busy brunch locations on Saturday and Sunday mornings, but Ive never before felt so squished or uneasy. We ended up staying and did thoroughly enjoy our meals, but I would never again return on a weekend. This spot is just too small to accommodate as many people as they bring in. Maybe on a random Tuesday morning would be the best time to return.Also note that they dont bring you a receipt of what you ordered, and theyll instead read off the items and then ask how you would like to pay for it. Parking is a little tough to find, but I did manage to snag a 2 hour spot a few blocks away.

My wife and I had a great time. The food was delicious and the beer and wine list while small didnt disappoint. I had the chicken and waffles and my wife had the grain bowl.The restaurant was packed and there was a wait when we got there around 2:30 but they still seated us pretty quickly.The only thing I didnt like and the reason they lost a star is that the restaurant is super loud. You will be yelling across the table the entire meal. There are four tables outside that seem quieter but the wait for those would have been much longer.

Manager was extremely rude. We were placed on the waistlist; the hostess called our name and we decided to wait for an inside seat. The manager seated someone else at the table that was cleaned for us. When the hostess and I notified her that she’d given up the table we waited for, she responded “it happens do you want to be placed back on the waitlist to wait again or not”. Super friendly young, married owners manning the register and overseeing food prep. Deli style order then sit. Good variety of choices although a waffle bar. I had them avacado toast with was quite tasty with a good helping of avacado, beautifully prepared. Only thing I would change is to not have thin paper underneath as it tore as I cut the bread and I had to pick it out of my food. Americano was very good and they had almond milk. My friend had the southwest chicken sandwich and it was served with waffles as bread. Good flavors although was smothered in mayo which was unnecessary as the flavor was good without... Would definitely go back again!

This is a small little restaurant that serves breakfast through about lunchtime. Emphasis on small. There are a few larger tables, but most will only seat 2 people. And they are relatively close together. Our plates barely fit on the table when they arrived, which meant we had to spend a few minutes kind of tetris-ing to get them to fit. Which was annoying, Im not gonna lie.The music is very loud. Like you have to lean over the table toward whomever youre talking to to be able to hear them. Or you have to talk louder, which I dont like.The food itself is good. My husband got the chicken and waffles, and he enjoyed them very much. I got the fruity pebbles waffle, which wasnt bad at all. The presentation of if was beautiful. The waffle, in my opinion, didnt have as much flavor as it shouldve.I also got a side of over medium eggs and waffle fries, and my husband got a side of sausage. The eggs were insanely undercooked. They were barely cooked. My husband doesnt even like eggs very much, and he ate them cause I stopped after one bite. The waffle fries were cooked but were not crispy. They could have used another minute in the fryer for my taste. The sausage was decent.My husband also got a pineapple mimosa and said the ratio of alcohol to juice was very nice. And after a taste, I thought it was pretty good too.One complaint that I personally take up with restaurants, and more a warning to other patrons - they wont do any kind of substitutions. Which I understand to an extent. But it mostly just reads to me as rude because they think they have the best food ever. And they dont. And I personally hate having to disclose allergies (aka private medical information) to get a restaurant to agree to leave something off a sandwich, for example. I should be able to say, No avocado, please, without having to justify myself. But maybe thats just a pet peeve of mine. I dont think that I should have to settle for something else, that I didnt really want, cause whoever is cooking thinks that they know food better. Especially at a place like this that charges SO MUCH.Thats overall gist, really - it was good, and we will probably go again.But it wasnt great, and it was very expensive. So if youre not on a budget and you dont have any allergies or picky eaters, then this is a nice spot.

Had a quick brunch here today! The food was relatively quick and very delicious! Plus, the dishes were sooo aesthetically pleasing! They got many interesting options, not basic at all. I highly recommend this spot and would totally come back! :)

Omg! This place is absolutely perfect, beautiful, most of all DELICIOUS! You cannot come to LA and pass it by. You will definitely be wowed from the impeccable service of the entire staff to the mimosas ( try the pineapple with cotton candy) to the homemade melt in your mouth chicken and waffles. Food was okay but we felt super rushed. Our app came out and then our food came right after it. We didn’t have time to even enjoy the app before having to make room at our small table for our entree. The server was too cool for school and we felt as if we were being rushed since they are only open for the evening. Might order takeout but that’s about it.

We came in for Saturday brunch around 11am w/ my 7yo daughter, no wait at the high chairs/middle area, we were a party of 3. Quick service, cold coffee is great they only had oat milk as a non dairy creamer alternative, I appreciated that. Overall the food was delicious, will return & totally recommend!

Happily surprised the aroma of a chicken and waffle Cafe gently suffocated my seating arrangement. thank God. As far as the food appearance & taste....Superb! great rendention... Paying homage to Soul creations, if you will. Its a chicken and waffle cafe. must be a house Chef to help the rating by adding purpose flair & height to each plating. At any rate, what does not add up, is the price, absolutely way too expensive for a brunch where you met her! Probably will create the art of eating waffles in my private retreat with the original Colonel Sanders melting in my mouth thanks to door dash!

The back story of this place is cool! The couple that owns it also owns Met Him At A Bar across the street. Pro tip - go over there for breakfast as they carry the same menu, but shorter wait times.This place specializes in brunch. I tried their two most popular waffle dishes. The actual waffle itself is excellent. Had a crunchy texture and great taste. The fried chicken was OK, but not great. Their mistake was that they should have used white meat instead of dark meat. I would recommend the Wake Up Happy waffle. Its $3 cheaper than the chicken and waffles, and comes with generous serving of eggs, sausage and bacon.The service and wait staff were superb. Highly attentive, helpful, and kind. Worth every penny of a generous tip.The restaurant is situated along a busy intersection of La Brea Blvd and 8th Street. All that loud traffic and car fumes made waiting/patio dining on a small, overcrowded sidewalk a bit unpleasant. If you can, request indoor dining.

Saw this was listed as one of the best LA brunch spots and it did not disappoint!!! The wait was much quicker than I thought it was going to be despite it being very busy. The chicken and waffles were the best I’ve ever had and it’s always my go to! Staff was really friendly, I think almost every waitress came up to us and asked how we were. Definitely a must go if you’re visiting or local!
