We had an amazing experience. Samosas were crispy and flavorful. Paneer naan came out hot and perfectly fluffy. Eggplant curry and coconut chicken curry were delicious.

What a fantastic new place! They opened next to the Habit in what was the old Donburi place (which was terrible btw). But this place is awesome! The food tastes great, tastes home made too and the portions were very generous for the price (which is not as common I’ve found for Indian restaurants). They also have a fantastic lunch special even on weekends. Absolutely a recommend for not expensive Indian food in Walnut Creek

Alright, folks, if youre in Walnutcreek and your taste buds are screaming for Indian food, do yourself a favor and get over to Methi. This place is like a flavor circus where every bite is the main attraction.Lets talk samosas. These little triangles of joy were so perfect, they could run for office and win. Crispy, spicy, and just plain delicious—they had me hooked from the first bite.The Chicken Tikka Masala? Oh, man. The sauce was so rich and creamy, I was tempted to drink it with a straw. The chicken was so tender, it practically melted in my mouth. This dish alone is worth the trip.And then theres the Chicken Tandoori. Smoky, spicy, and cooked to perfection. It was like a flavor explosion in my mouth, and I was grinning like a fool.Now, heres the kicker—they forgot my naan. Yep, no naan. It was like watching your favorite movie and the power goes out right before the climax. But honestly, the rest of the meal was so spectacular that I barely missed it.Methi is a must-visit. The food is out of this world, and I cant wait to go back and try more of their incredible dishes. If you love Indian cuisine, this place is a no-brainer

We finally tried methi, going in with a lot of hope. But it was really disappointing. We did a delivery order of paneer tikka masala and lamb curry. The lamb had no flavor, while the paneer tikka masala had oil floating on it, and the curry was sour (needed some more cream to cut the sourness)

Excellent food and service. New business in Walnut Creek. Family run and very friendly.The location looks a bit funky outside, tucked in next to the burger joint, but it’s very authentic inside. Clean and well appointed.Good size portions with lots of choices.Give it a try - we’ll be back!

Tried this restaurant on Friday 17, chicken and beef masala were to die for, so good!My husband came for take out order, he asked to make it mild as we don’t like really hot food, so it was nicely spicy.Good size of portion (for us it turned out like 2 dinners), prices are reasonable.This place is new, service is very good, hope they’ll keep up.Highly recommended!

Really really good food at a reasonable price too. This was my first time coming here and I will definitely go back. Portions are good and the lunch special gives you everything you need for a full meal.The daal soup was quite spicy though was not expecting that but it was still delicious nonetheless.

Finally tried Methi again and can happily report that the issues from our first visit have been addressed. This is our new go-to Indian place in Walnut Creek and Concord.-- original reviewBold flavors and an exciting addition to Walnut Creeks Indian restaurant lineup. Unfortunately everything was very salty. Well be returning and I hope to add more stars on future visitsWe tried: Chana Daal, Bhindi Masala, Chicken Tikka Masala and Rice Pulao. The quality of the Tikka was very impressive but all the dishes were too salty for our tastes.

Indian food on the east side of the Caldecott Tunnel is almost universally mediocre, and this place is no different. The food did not taste particularly fresh or well seasoned. I’ve had Indian food in shelf-stable package at the store that was more tasty, unfortunately.

Really delicious food, lunch specials are a great deal! The restaurant is clean, and the service was attentive and kind. There is plenty of free parking in the back which is nice for downtown Walnut Creek. The pain puri was served so well, very well done. The chicken tikka masala was delicious.

A small hole in wall location, service was nice but shy, & hesitant, but what’s important is the food,The tikka masala was especially well seasoned & thick, the rice had the excellent bouquet of cardamom, & the naan & samosas were fresh & crisp. Great service, great food. I ordered a veggie bowl (lunchtime special), I got to choose from a variety of veggie entrees so I chose saag paneer. The lunch specials were very affordable, and I thought the saag tasted very good. Highly recommend!

I felt like I was real India Dhaba!I am an Indian food home chef and have traveled extensively in Pakistan and India and have eaten in hundreds of restaurants there. I have tried every Indian restaurant in the East Bay. It doesnt come any better that this for North Indian food. The goat in the goat curry was falling off the bone as if it had been cooked for six hours. The Masala had hints of black cardamon, green cardamon and star anise. The tandoori chicken, two thighs and two drumsticks was tender and juicy, served on a sizzling bed of browned onions. The Shahi Paneer was small cubes in and tenderly spiced creamy gravy. The Naans came, fresh from the tandoor and were perfectly done. The deserts are home made. The Malai Kulfi and Ras Malai cant be beat. You can order your food to the spice level that you like. If you order it mild, dont complain about lack of flavor. I orderey spicey and it was not the least bit overwhelming.The atmosphere is, clean, neat and happy.The service was a little spotty due to the fact that the server was young and in training. She also had a slight language barrier. Walnut Creek just got so much better. The food is so good— the quality of the food and the flavor makes you feel like you’re eating at your grandma’s house. They didn’t put too much oil or butter to the point of it being too heavy, and the garlic naan, mushroom makhani and chana saag was absolutely unreal. You’re not going to regret coming here!

Update after my first visit to Methi:I decided to give Methi another try and reordered the Bhel Puri, which I had enjoyed previously. This time, I also ordered the Chicken Tikka Kabab and Matar Paneer. Unfortunately, this experience changed my perception of the restaurant.While the Bhel Puri was consistent with my first visit, fresh and flavorful, the Chicken Tikka Kabab was a major letdown. The chicken was heavily colored with what appeared to be food coloring. As someone who has cooked Indian food for over 20 years, I found this quite disappointing. I decided to call the restaurant to provide my feedback, hoping for a constructive conversation. However, the staff seemed defensive and insisted that the vibrant red color was due to turmeric and spices, which I found to be an unconvincing explanation.The Matar Paneer, on the other hand, was decent, not particularly remarkable but not bad either.Overall, while the Bhel Puri remained a highlight, the experience with the Chicken Tikka Kabab has raised doubts about the authenticity and quality of the other dishes. The unwelcoming response to feedback also adds to my hesitation about revisiting. Its a mixed feeling now, with some good elements overshadowed by a concerning experience.First visit:I recently visited a charming little restaurant called Methi, nestled in the East Bay area, particularly in Walnut Creek. Its often challenging to find a good spot for chaat once you cross Berkeley, but Methi certainly fills that gap. It was evident that the kitchen uses high-quality ingredients, ensuring each bite was delightful.I also tried their chai, which was wonderfully aromatic and soothing. It had just the right amount of spice, making it an excellent accompaniment to the chaat. Although I didnt have the opportunity to try any of their entrees this time, the quality of the Bhel Puri and chai has certainly piqued my interest for future visits.Another highlight of Methi is its affordability. Despite the high quality of the food and the excellent service, the prices are very reasonable. Delicious Indian restaurant in Walnut Creek near Broadway Plaza. I had the dal makhani (lentils and kidney beans with spices) and a mango lassi. The owner is very friendly and welcoming, and the decor in the restaurant is beautiful. Well worth a stop for lunch or dinner.

3 entrees, 1 appetiser, 2 naan = $80. Vindaloo had so many potatoes and 3 cubes of meat! Chicken was dry. Both meals were BLAND. I was told saag was good.EXPENSIVE ($17/ea) & NO fresh seasoning. NOPE. WILL NOT BE RETURNING.I HIGHLY recommend the drive to Naan&Curry in Concord. When you see how busy they are, you will understand why when you taste the food. 4 entrees and 2 huge delicious naan’s at Naan&Curry = $60.Gave METHI a chance. Bad decision. Sticking to Naan&Curry for fresh, flavourful Indian cuisine.
