It was a good sandwich. Id eat it again if I was in the area.4* because it was definitely a better than average sandwich. The fresh bread definitely pushed it up.-1 star because they piled all the meat in the middle and barely any on the edges which...people who make sandwiches should know better by now.Side note to the people of San Rafael...come on...Best sandwiches in the Bay really? You all are going to sit here seriously and claim that with a straight face?

A great sandwich spot. Gets busy at lunchtime because its really good, but the wait time is not bad. They really crank out food quickly. The sandwiches are big and satisfying. Its reasonably priced for the amount of food compared to other options in the area. Plenty of parking since many orders are to go, but sometimes need to park on the back street... I always find a spot really close. Be aware that late in the day they may close a little early if they run out of bread... Yeah, its a thing if they are super busy since its freshly baked every day.

As a self-proclaimed, sandwich connoisseur, this is hands down the best sandwich I’ve ever had. The bread is so fresh, crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. You can taste the freshness of the ingredients. I have to limit myself to one sandwich a week, otherwise I’d be in there every day. Highly recommend.

Been eating here for months and I’m tired of my sandwich’s falling apart. I get my order for pick up and the way they wrap the sandwiches is terrible. For the price you pay you’d expect better takeout containers/bagging.They literally just threw my sandwich in the bag with the paper all soaked up.. not acceptable I’m done spending money here.This is the 5th time it happen to me. No longer supporting this business.

The food was delicious! I appreciate how we came at lunchtime and the line moved quickly. First we were asked for here or Togo. We are in. I got the turkey corn beef sandwich on sourdough with everything and spicy mustard. The Brest was fresh and I loved their secret sauce. They also have a huge selection of drinks and chips. I got truffle flavored kettle chips. The atmosphere was friendly and there was a great mix of people having lunch with friends or grabbing a bite during the work day. Many customers knew the employees by name! A great neighborhood spot, we will be back!

Love their fresh bread. My favorite sandwich is the Godfather with extra mayo. The pastrami and corned beef are also very good. Too bad they arent open on the weekends. During the week it can get very crowded between noon and one pm. Parking is usually not a problem, theres a big lot right in front. There are many tables inside if you want to eat in.Staff is friendly and efficient. Your order will be ready promptly.

This place is amazing. Watching how efficiently the team works together is inspiring. I had the Ruben and my friend had the turkey sandwich. Their bread is delicious. Sadly my friend accidentally dropped their sandwich on the floor and the owners were more than happy to replace it. Sandwich perfection. The bread is the foundation of any great sandwich so when you have a sourdough roll with the perfect balance of crusty, but not too crusty, youre already lightyears ahead. The meat and cheese were solid and the veggies, mayo, and mustard brought the freshness to counterbalance with the bread. There was only 1 person in line ahead of me and my sandwich came out within a minute of my paying for it. My only complaint is they dont have one of these in San Diego! 😝

Ive been coming here since high school and I have to say you cant beat a sandwich from Michaels Sourdough! The new location for them is far more efficient for the rush that they get during lunch. Highly recommend adding avocado to whatever sandwich you get, and calling your order ahead if youre in a rush.P.S. dont get a salad, its literally called Michaels Sourdough Sandwiches.

Best sandwiches Ive ever had! I work nearby and usually stop by once a week. Bread is always fresh and sandwiches are a great size especially for the cost. Staff does a great job making quality sandwiches fast even during their huge lunch rush. I have never been disappointed. Only complaint is the shop size during the busy times because it can get crowded waiting for your order but I cant complain too much because I dont think Ive ever waited more than 2 or 3 min. Props to the staff for the consistantly amazing food. Delicious food with fast friendly service makes this place and winner!

If you love a deli sandwich, this might be your place. Portions are huge. Its easy to split the sandwich which is around $10-$14. They have hit and cold sandwiches. They have lots of combos. We got the pastrami sandwich hot. If I was going to return Id get it with everything. Not meat and cheese. Two drinks, one sandwich, a side of macaroni salad, and a small bag of chips was $22.50. The place was packed and it was lunchtime. Very good staff and the bread was delicious.

This place will always get five stars. With the amount of business, there sandwich makers do an excellent job to get the customers in and out. I recommend ordering ahead, especially during lunch hours. The sandwiches are around 10 dollars, but you get more than what you pay for.

Thank you to the staff at this location for being so patient!I came into the store last week to put in an order for me and my coworkers. It was 11 orders and I could tell they were getting busier by the time I came through. It was before lunch of course, so I apologized and told them I had quite a request.The person who took down my order was very patient and understanding. Once the orders were in, I paid and waited on the side. I noticed the people who came in behind me were getting their sandwiches sooner, which honestly relieved me. I didnt want anyone getting a delay on their personal lunch for my 11 person order.They still finished sooner than I could ever imagine and each order was made to order perfectly. Very tasty sandwiches. Great staff. They seem to have fun with their usuals coming through and were very kind to me as a new patriate. Would recommend.

The bread is amazing perfect crunch balance with a good meat and misc ingredient ratio. And tge pickle is a must. For a good fresh sandwich wen you want something non fried for lunch or dinner this is a must try. Always accurate, fast service and friendly staff.

Hands down one of the best, if not the best sandwiches, Ive ever had. Homemade sourdough bread and in house roasted turkey and roast beef. YUM! All the ingredients are fresh and you can really taste the difference. The sandwiches are Huge and I can only eat half of one which is fine because I can have it for another meal. Their sides of macaroni and potato salad are delicious! They remind me of my grandmas recipes. Of course, there are plenty of chip options as well. I live in San Francisco and I make a special trip to come here just to have lunch sometimes. Totally worth it! :)

I ordered a #3, my favorite, which is turkey and swiss on sourdough. Most sandwich places make a decent sandwich with these ingredients. However, Michaels was simply the VERY BEST Ive ever eaten. I drove up from San Ramon for the meeting before this lunch break. I seriously will drive all the way back from time to time just to get their sandwiches.

Mike’s was a staple for me in high school when it was at the old location on the other side of 101. The quality of their sandwiches has not changed since their move. To me, their bread is what puts their sandwiches in a top tier but the way they construct them is also a key element. Delicious, crunchy, satisfying, SO GOOD.

Amazing! The only downfall (and its a serious one) is the hours of operation. But I would seriously consider playing hooky to get my hands on some of that warm, fresh sourdough! The meats are good too, but the bread is absolutely the star. Top it all off with an extra dill pickle and you wont be sorry.
