This sushi is so authentic and fresh! They have a great variety on their menu and service is friendly! Check out this spot if you’re nearby it wasn’t very busy when I went for lunch.

I love the sushi at Michi’s. I have been eating here regularly for years. The fish is fresh. Try the healthy low glycemic brown rice sushi. Michi the owner is also a wonderful person.

Michi herself is a great reason to frequent this restaurant!!!As she truely is a kind and loving person. I was standing outside the restaurant with my dog Yogi. She came out and welcomed us in. Her philosophy is to treat others with kindness and love. The food BTW is excellent. The restaurant is small and peaceful. It also seems to be a meeting place for old friends. Who when they walk in are embrassed by this wonderful woman. An amazing experience. Her family comes here to dine as well and are also wonderful people.Thank You Michi and FamilyJohn and Yogi

I ordered a yellowtail roll and the pork Michi ramen. The rolls disassembled easily. The ramen broth was insipid and only had 2 tiny chashu slices. Not even an egg. I would highly suggest you go elsewhere for ramen.

Ordered a few items on the menu including the curry, it was good! The service was fast! The owner is nice and the atmosphere is cool, I can see all the details and thought put into it. Wont be driving past this place in the future

We found this place by accident. I ordered the Chicken Katsu with brown rice. Let me tell you, the curry....chefs kiss. This curry is thick, and loaded with ingredients that give it that authentic, rich, Japanese flavor. Having lived in Japan, and literally named my cat Katsu, I am very critical about my Katsu Curries. Let me tell you, Chef Michi knows what shes doing. I HIGHLY recommend this place, especially if you enjoy Japanese cuisine with fresh, and organic ingredients.

Super friendly, local feel, excellent food! One of my favorites on the west side. I went as part of a large group ( 30+) and they took great care of us. They even have a small, private area that you can reserve. Excellent! Favorite dish: the dynamite roll. But everything was truly delicious.

Cooked options were average, nothing exciting. I think the best thing I ordered were their green beans. I had a craving for sashimi, which is normally my go-to when craving Japanese food. However, I also have the palette of a 3.5 year old to satisfy, hence why we chose this restaurant. I am from the SGV, so this isn’t my first rodeo with Japanese food, or raw seafood for that matter.The Sashimi was the worst I have tried in my life. From the technique of slicing the fish, to serving it on a bed of jagged and wet cucumbers…it looked and smelled like my 3.5 year old child was given leftover fish to play “restaurant” with for a day or two. Oh, and the wasabi smeared on the back of the soy sauce was the cherry on top. Disappointing all around.I hope they can get it together.

This was a terrible place. We put in a large to-go order, 18 pork ramen bowls. When we got home, each order had a single 2 x 3 slice of pork and a couple pieces of green veggie thing. That was it for $18 each. I understand Santa Monica is a tourist town and the order was large but my goodness, if you cant fulfill the order, dont accept it.

Did a big group takeout order, including 9 ramens. Their regular size was ungenerous, including a small serving of noodles and a thin slice of pork. Cant imagine what their small looks like. The broth was bland and uninspired too, like the instant tonkatsu ramen broth youll find at Costco. I dont know about their other food, but definitely skip the ramen. It was probably the worst Ive ever had. Two stars because at least they packaged the stuff and broth separately.

We ordered to go tonight at Michi and were very pleased. Their food is quite good. They are located next to Costco in Mar Vista, and parking can be a bear, but you will find a spot, it is free.The interior is spotless and really cute.The service was super nice and fast. The server knew the menu well and was able to help us navigate exactly what we wanted.The food came out pretty fast and exactly as ordered.The sushi was excellent, 5 stars. We had shrimp and yellow tail and a few assorted rolls. All of it was just the best. We could not be happier.We also had chicken teriyaki which was only average, 3 stars at best. It was very dry and tough. It simply had no flavor. We also had their gyoza which had a great filling, but the outside was over cooked. That is why we give 4 stars overall instead of 5.We had shrimp tempura and it was outstanding. It was not over crusted and the shrimp was not over cooked. It was very tasty. Their white rice was also very good.We very much enjoyed our meal and we will be back. We will not order the chicken again, we will just order more shrimp. Just YUM.

INCREDIBLE!!! Really healthy food that taste sensational! Owner operated. Immaculately clean. Quiet with light music for a ambience. Lots of comfortable seating options. Great soft lighting. It feels like you’re eating in someone’s living room in the sense that is so inviting it and you feel so cared for. The food is absolute spectacular and will blow your mind! I was greeted so warmly upon entering this establishment. They were busy entertaining a gathering of people at the bar but the owner still took her time to make sure I was taken care of. This isnt a vegan restaurant, but they have many vegan dishes. The staff is happy to alter any dish to sit your taste. One of the few places with vegan ramen. They also have tasty Japanese chili peppers, vegetarian rolls, curries, etc.I try to stop in whenever possible. Located near Costco. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. A while ago my boyfriend and I were looking for brown rice sushi and found this place. The food is SO good and SO HEALTHY! And she makes a flourless sugarfree cake that is AMAZING. I live in Glendale and I have literally told everyone I know who is trying to find good healthy food to try this place. The owner/cook is such a sweet woman. You can tell she loves what she does. I order from here multiple times a month via LA Bite and I have to say you definitely get top quality here. I cant comment on the service since I have yet to step foot inside. Someday Ill leave my bubble....My favorite lunch item is the Healthy-Mate Box combo - which is more than filling for lunch. I get a few edamame beans, a salad choice (i go for the seaweed salad or cucumber salad) and the roll (generally the cali or the venice roll)The quality of the food is fantastic and they use organic ingredients. When we moved to the west side we immediately started looking for our local sushi joint. After a few failed attempts we were lucky to find Fresh In The Box.The rolls are tasty, the portions are generous, and the price is reasonable. They dont skimp on the fish either - you can expect full rolls and big nigiri here. Its the perfect regular sushi spot. I would even say the nigiri is on par with much more expensive and fancy restaurants. If you get tired of sushi they have curry and katsu too, which are both pretty good.If you order takeout or delivery the service is always fast and on time. We live about a mile away and the delivery always arrives within 30 minutes of ordering.

I came in to pick up a doordash order for a paying customer. I asked If I can use the bathroom, was told its only for paying customers not for drivers & public. Far as I see I am picking up for the paying customer. Its not fair to not be able to use the bathroom, we are on the road providing a service to our customers. Due to the hassle of renting a car at the airport, it was already past lunch time, but this restaurant was open, which was helpful. The hostess kindly explained the menu to me, and the Baked Salmon Role she recommended (although it took a while to come out) was a huge hit and was extremely delicious. All the other dishes we ordered were delicious. Also, my wife told me about recommended restaurants in the surrounding area, and when I went there, it was another big hit. It was a wonderful experience.
