Will was the Midas employee that helped me. I needed to get 4 new tires along with an oil change and he not only found me a better deal $$ but he also was very informative and professional. My car drove smooth and felt new again. Service was pretty fast as well. I would come here again, and Id definitely recommend this place to others. Request Will if possible.

Dealership mechanic straight up lied to me about needing all my brakes replaced, the guys at this Midas were honest about what I really needed done. Shout-out to Will for giving me real options. Even saw them help out an old lady with a light that wouldnt shut off, turns out she just didnt close her trunk properly.

Quick and easy. They allowed my friendly dog to enter. Staff was well trained and the supervisor was open to all questions asked. Definitely coming back. And they cost just as much as my Valvoline trip with a Groupon. Definitely saved time and money coming here. No coupon needed, they have some in store.

Got a oil change on 10/12/2023 and Im on the highway and my oil filter falls off and now sitting on the highway waiting for a tow truck. I better be reimbursed or get another for free. This is ridiculous 90$ for them to do an incorrect/incomplete job. As an active duty military member this is unacceptable and there is absolutely no reason for this sort of Mal practice. 2 days after a oil change and this happens. Unacceptable l!!

They are friendly but take a long time and from the look of It the could have been faster they told me two and a half hours its been 3 and its still not done. I dont know if a transmission fluid change should take more than 3 hours but either way it sucks ....

I came expecting to pay a huge amount of money and turns out I didnt have any issues at all, they were honest and told me nothing was wrong with the vehicle and I appreciated not being made to pay for something that wasnt wrong due to another place trying to pull as fast one on me. Stopped by from brake noise and was told my brakes were good, and it could just be a cheaper pad material installed when replaced last. Gave me a quieter pads option, yet advised that replacement is not necessary unless the noise is bothering me and I want to make the investment. You don’t get this at shops too often!

Avoid this midas at all cost . Lied about time of repair! Off by weeks never got same guy on phone and over priced ridiculous had to call corporate many times on this location! Plus after 2.5 weeks mice ate through shifter leather and.other parts of my car! Horrible still seeing if they will pay for my car being ate by mice after over paying 6k on repairs! Warning! Stay away better luck anywhere !

I recently took my Toyota Tacoma to get an oil change from Midas and everything went very well. They took the truck in right on time and was done about 20 minutes later. I’ve been going to Midas for years now and only made good experiences. I’m always happy with the service they provide. They really take their time to inspect your vehicle from top to bottom to ensure that it is safe to drive. I had my breaks done and an oil change. My vehicle was ready to go within a couple of hours. Highly recommend that place.

Not at all happy about what should have been at MOST a 2 hour wait for an oil pan gasket change and oil change, turning into a FIVE+ HOUR WAIT (and this was WITH A PRE-MADE APPT that specifically stated an oil pan gasket change was needed!). I additionally did NOT appreciate the attempt to charge me for a break inspection that I DID NOT ASK FOR! Finally, the $29.99 oil change coupon itself was IGNORED, and only a $20.00 discount was given for a $54.00+ oil change charge! I will NO LONGER be bringing my vehicle to this, or any other Midas locations for oil changes. HONESTY and EFFICIENCY are NOT what it practices-as evidenced in todays experience!

Wednesday I spoke with Jerry & 8am Saturday was my appointment. Will checked me in and explained each steps of service that were taken as well as the (maybe steps) should that route needed to be taken. My brake pedal was hitting the floor and even though my nephew did his brake skills thing there was something else going on, we just didnt know what. David did his Midas touch, removed old brake fluid and air pockets, replaced new brake fluids and ta da. The Midas touch!!!! It was done by 10:30am. You cant ask for much after that awesome job. The oil change took 75 minutes despite the Speedy claim. The place was not busy at all. Also, I ased if my tire pressure was checked and they assured me all tires were filled to spec, they were not. Light stayed on until a filled them myself at a local gas station. Sucks they took so long, did not do a complete service and then lied about it. My second less than great experience at this location so needless to say, I wont be back.

Service was extremely slow even though I had an appointment. I also had a headlight replaced. Was thankful with print out I received for future maintenance needed on my car(liked this idea) not happy with attitude of the man who waited on me. He didnt seem to like when I mentioned that I had a mechanic? When I tried to read my paper work before I sighed off on it, he was rude and rushed me through it. Manuel asked me how quickly I would need the car and delivered ahead of time. Came in for a brake job but ended up not needing it. During the brake inspection they found a hole in my CV boot which allowed for grease to spray every where. Been to other Midas franchises with mixed results. Walked in around 1:30pm for squealing brakes, waited around 45-1 hour and got a text with all the info on my car, recommendations, cost. Very thorough assessment, repaired by 4:30pm and brakes are safe and working fine now. Manuel was informative and kept me up to date on the rapid of my vehicle. Price was comparable to other estimate I got but I felt safer with a company that has been around for awhile. My car got the Midas touch here at this franchise and I have a place to take my vehicle for any repairs I need in the future.

This place has the vibe of your local neighborhood mechanic. No advertising in the office, lackluster customer service and no prices listed anywhere, this is the most annoying part for me. Having to ask how much each of their services are going to cost gets old, fast. Prices are on the higher side. Basic oil change $45 (non synthetic), alignment $90, mount and balance $20.I came here because it’s down the street from my house and I didn’t feel like doing my oil change myself. I was pleasantly surprised to see an unexpected diagnostic sent via text highlighting some of the car’s issues that could be worth looking into. Good afternoon. Im very disappointed with Midas and its service. I stopped by Midas today about 12:45p and spoke to the service manager and requested a oil change and filter. There was only one person in the waiting room. And he soon left, in about fifteen minutes. The lube tech finished up with a small job on the rack and decided he was leaving with know reason for leaving when the store manager inquired why he was leaving. The lube tech turned his back and walked off the Midas property. So my time there was 1hour and fifteen minutes with no service. But Im so sorry. I was worried about the brakes on my car. After Midas did a thorough inspection they advised that the brakes were perfectly fine. I couldn’t believe they did not try and sell me on something that I did not need. They did rotate my tires and I was done, very pleased with their honesty and walked out of there paying $20. We brought in my daughters 2006 Volkswagen “New Beetle convertible” for an oil change (this was requested at 3pm on a Tuesday). The team at Midas accepted our car at 5 PM and had it ready to go before 530pm. This was at a time when other Lube shops I had called were saying “no” or “I have an opening on Thursday at 2PM”.When the oil was changed the team did their own independent inspection and informed us lubrication leaking from the steering mechanism and advised us it needed to be fixed asap.We brought the BlueRag Beetle in the next day and got the work completed within 3 hours, wow. When driving after the new parts we’re installed it handled like a totally different, safer and better performing car.Thank you Midas!

The service here is wonderful! I took my car to the dealership to get fixed and it was going to cost me almost $3000! I am an unemployed college student, this was not going to work for me. When I brought it here, it was thoroughly looked at and the estimate was much less costly and much more manageable. Everything that was going to be changed/fixed in the car was explained to me thoroughly and what didn’t make sense to me was made clear. When I picked it up once it was finished, I noticed a huge difference while I was driving, it felt brand new! I was so happy!The staff here is kind and very honest. I was actually helped by the owner, David, and he walked me though everything that was going to happen with my car, and what the outcome was supposed to be. He definitely followed through with what he said. In fact, he noticed that the original estimate was wrong because one of the parts they thought needed to be fixed was being caused by something else and that the part did not need to be fixed and he knocked that off my bill! These people ruined my opinion on MIDAS. I will never use their services again. Not only did they lie saying I didn’t need new brakes. I was still charged $150 and my car is still having the same problems. I don’t trust them to do the right thing. It seems like they only want to make money and not help. NEVER AGAIN!!!!updating this because I can’t respond to the managers response—I don’t care how you all THINK that I didn’t need new brakes, that was what my appointment was for. I paid $150 to still have the same problem. I know what scrubbing brakes sound like and my brakes are beginning to scrub. So instead of waiting until they got SUPER BAD, I made an appointment to get them changed. Like I said, i’ll never come back to MIDAS because they’ll do something completely opposite of what you want. I took my car in for its 50,000 mile inspection and tune up. Everyone that helped me was kind and welcoming from the moment I rolled into the parking lot. Given a timeline of 1 and 1/2 weeks to replace the valve cover gaskets and oil pan gasket in my 2000 Mitsubishi. Called at that time and was told 1 to 2 days max theyd be done. Update to “Warranty not honored”. After giving the Chula Vista Midas 3 opportunities to make things right. We had no choice but to drive out to Another Midas shop in hope that someone could fix our brake problem which was on warranty. We ended up in la Mesa Midas for the 2nd time. I used to always bring my car here. Now, the manager acts like he never remembers me. At least the owner is still nice, and seems to remember me. The service isnt great. I live in north county San Diego, and when my car broke down in la Mesa I was frantic to bring it to a shop for repairs. I was helped by david over the during the whole process. It was after closing but he allowed me to leave my car overnight and they took a look at it the next morning. I authorized all of the repairs over the phone and he kept me thoroughly updated on everything they checked, recommended to be fixed, and when it was all done. When they gave me the price, I specifically asked does that cover parts, labor, and tax. When I showed up to have the work done, they said they made a mistake and only quoted me for the price of the starter, not the labor to install it. Love the University Ave. location! I took my car to the Friars Rd location for an oil change and to have a diagnostic done since the “service engine soon” light was on. Friars Midas didn’t hook up my car to the machine to check the codes and said it would take “some time” to do that and would cost me $$$ since the mechanic “can’t work for free”. They said it might be the emissions from the car that need to be “fixed”. I happily took my keys back from them and drove straight over to the The University location where they hooked up my car and told me the “service engine soon” light was on due to the gas cap not being tightened all the way. 4 Stars because the price was great, however, I had just gotten my car washed ($15) and hour before and within minutes of them taking my car in for like change I noticed they had used my window wash and spray my car windshield and rear window and roof and trunk and some on the sides. I drive for Uber and Lyft and it makes a big difference. I’ll give them credit for noticing what they did wrong, but, they only did half of a job by cleaning only my windows. When I walked to my car this morning and opened the garage It was covered with little water spots. People are nice but way overpriced on parts. Labor is about right. They were charging me 240 dollars for 8 spark plugs and wires. Found high end ones at Auto zone for 80 dollars. I was estimated 1,040 dollars for spark plugs replacement, oil pan gasket, and parking break. Saved myself about 800 to do it all myself. If you can do the work save yourself some money and do it yourself and always do some research. They compared it to buying a steak at a store to a restaurant. I have never paid 50 bucks for a steak.

Midas La Mesa has done a bunch of work for me over the past few years ranging from oil changes and minor exhaust repairs to shock absorbers and suspension repairs.Always timely, always on budget, and they dont try to sell you anything you dont need.Recently I brought our van in for an oil change and a pan gasket replacement. Everyone was pleasant, they got right to it and I was in and out in half an hour. They did a good job of explaining the tire rotation rule to me and noting things that should be attended to. I went in for an oil change, I was greeted and was asked some basic information. My truck was pulled in the mechanics bay and was advised that my vehicle takes synthetic oil ONLY, which cost $96. I advised the guy that Ive had my oil changed many of times and was never told that my truckonly takes synthetic oil. I told the guy to use regular oil, he said that he couldnt do the job. Midas La Mesa changed my oil on March 9, 2021. On March 11, 2021 my vehicles engine light came on. In addition, my vehicle was running odd after the service. I called the shop and advised them of the situation as soon as the light came on. They asked me to bring my vehicle in. Manuel L., the service adviser hooked up a scan tool and showed me that there was oxygen sensor codes and MAF sensor code. I advised him that I have never had any issues with my vehicle until after they performed the oil change. I also told him that I purchased my vehicle brand new in 2018 and have kept it well maintained. He told me there is nothing they could have done to cause this. That this was simply a coincidence. I expressed that they need to see whats wrong as my vehicle was running well before I brought it in. Reiterating, that I have never had any sort of check engine light or issues with my vehicle. Manuel L. then told me that this is a coincidence AND if I want them to conduct a diagnosis, it will cost me their hourly rate.This is unacceptable. Midas La Mesa needs to take some responsibility for this. I had a perfectly running vehicle, no leaks, no vibration, etc. I am not a happy customer. Now I am having to take my vehicle to Bob Stall Chevrolet (nearest Chevrolet Dealer to me) to see what is wrong with my car. Which has a cost of $170. Midas La Mesa is more than capable of doing the diagnostic themselves. That is why I took it back to them. They were the last to work on my vehicle before issues followed. Manuel L. was not apologetic or even entertaining the fact that they had anything to do with this. But yet, they do a Midas Courtesy Check of your vehicle and you can clearly see that the air filter was removed as it is imaged on the report. They were under the hood checking fluids, etc. They could have at least checked the areas they had put their hands on. Put it on the lift for any obvious signs of cause. This could be as simple as the air filter not being reset properly. Such a shame! NEVER USING THEM AGAIN!

Put my husband drive shaft on backwards, I had to rescue him..took 2x to fix my struts then they lost a special key to get my lug nuts off so when I had a flat tire, my AAA couldnt take off for mt doughnut tire so I had to be towed. Refused to accept they lost the part so they didnt have to pay for my towing and order the part..Done!
