Miki-Chans Okazu-Ya in Montebello

Food was excellent and staff very friendly. Traveling for work and not knowing the area is always difficult so finding this place is a hidden gem. Food reminds me of comfort food and loved it.

So we saw a review done by Grub with Greg, a guy we follow on Instagram. Usually, the foods he reviews look amazing - which was the case with Miki Chans.Well, we were kinda disappointed from the moment we walked in. The place was kinda dingy looking, crates stacked at the entrance, and chairs lined up to keep you away from the glass case where the foods were.Some of the foods that were recommended by Grub with Greg didnt look very fresh - like they had been sitting for a little while - like the ribs, which I was looking forward to trying, but they didnt look very appealing. We ended up getting a two item meal with the Hawaiian noodles with pork, the BBQ pork and teriyaki chicken. I also got a side of orange chicken and a chicken eggroll -- our food came to 18 dollars and change.The noodles were just ok, the BBQ pork was disappointing since it really looked good, but it was so dry, the teriyaki chicken was tasty and not dry, and the orange chicken was just ok. The chicken egg roll was just ok - I didnt really notice chicken - it did had a strong ginger flavor though.We picked up our food around 7pm - possibly if you get there earlier, the food might be a little fresher. It seems that people like this place, so I guess we just caught them at an off time.The lady behind the counter was very nice! I really wanted this food to be amazing because she was so sweet! Kinda bummed it was such a disappointment!

First time there.. little hole in the wall place.. greeted by a unique person was very generous with my food plate.. chawmein with two servings.. the food was delicious price was very reasonable. Excellent tasting food.. good verity of food selection. May return if I am in the area

Got the fried rice/ chow mien combo with red pork and orange chicken. Fried rice and chicken wasn’t special but tasted good. Next time I’d get all chow mien. Mac salad was basic but yummy. The beef ribs were AMAZING, perfectly charred with flavors and fatty pieces. They really stuff the Togo boxes, it’s impressive. This place is like panda but 10x better. And the cashier had great energy 💯

I love this place! Been coming here since 92. Jenni is the best, she already knows your order. The prices are good, and you get a lot of food, Jenni dont skimp. I always order the Beef Teriyaki plate with double mac, its to die for. I highly recommend that, or the sweet and sour pork with Hawaiian chow mien. Theyll even customize your order for you.

Omg, this place is pretty good. Big sized portions, 2 or 3 can eat with one combo. The grilled chicken and short ribs are the best. The fried rice is one of their staples i guess. The chow mein has meat in it, but it has a distinctive taste, like if they use fish oil to prepare it, so if youre palate is sensitive, you might want to skip it. Place is nice and clean for what it is. Please dont expect a Panda Inn or PF Changs, but its good food. Very friendly and sweet staff. I will stop by when im the area again.

Great Price!! And you get super hooked up.For example: I get the 3 item combo. It comes with Rice, Tsukemono (pickled cabbage salad), macaroni salad. + 3 items: the chicken, the green beans & zucchini (super yummy) & the chow mein noodles. All for like $7 something. It ends up being perfect for my son and I to share.Staff is super super friendly and very Welcoming! You can tell they get regulars coming in all the time. Its definitely a spot where all the local old school Japs (grandpas) come to dine.Highly recommend if you want to get FULL.

Miki chans is the best ... The food is excellent.. Especially the bbq pork... The lady thats always taking the orders is so sweet and has excellent customer service... If ur around Montebello and looking for some great Chinese food .. Go here .. I highly recommend it...

Man I came to get food for my family and Ive come here before and the food was great, but this time holy. Barely put any meat in my box and filled it up 3.8 our of 5 of the box with rice and noodles. Twice the amount of rice mind you. The bbq pork was bright red with no char. Looked dull and been there the whole day. The teriyaki chicken was bland and tasted old. Even the noodles were bland. They charge 6. 80 for a small side of chow meimean, which is aloutrageous from any other places Ive been to. 2/10 wont ne coming back. 3 combos and a side of small chowmein for 40 dollars? No thanks

Unfortunately this place is not the same for me anymore. I went yesterday and the food was so nasty I had to throw it away. The broccoli beef had a fishy taste then I smelled it and it sure smelled like fish even the noodles smelled like fish. I will not be going to this place anymore. Besides the lady helping me out she was being rude and kept on telling me things like when I asked for soy sauce and hot sauce she said didn’t you see me put it in the bag then I said no I didn’t she said well you were sure staring at me packing the bag so I assumed you saw me and I told her no sorry I was reading all the little signs you guys had up on the window when paying she said then I did put some. She put in the bag only 2 hot sauce and 2 soy sauce and I asked her can i please have more cause I had 3 full plates and a side then she started telling me we are short I can only give you 2 more. I said ok thank you. I have never experienced this place being so rude and the food tasting so NASTY. I was so embarrassed to even call to complain especially how she treated me.
