I have had so many delicious plates and rolls. So fresh and the presentation is always delightful too. The menu has so many great options. Even when its busy the food arrives pretty quickly. Highly recommend.

We passed by this restaurant for a quick lunch while stopping and charging our car in Sacramento, on our way to South Lake Tahoe. From what I recall:Nice and big restaurant. Spacious seating area. Cool air conditioning during hot summer days. The staff were nice and helpful, but it seemed they didn’t talk much. The food was good. Many options for sushi rolls. But, to my disappointment, there was only one option for udon soups. I could only order that as I had to share with my baby. They really didn’t have a kid menu, or one that my baby could have.My sister went with a veggie rolls as she didn’t have much appetite, but most of the other dishes contains seafood. The only choice she had was avocado rolls. My husband chose stir fried seafood noodles. Fresh shrimps. Noodles was seasoning well.

Mikuni’s is my top two favorite sushi spot. I’ve eaten here many many times. Their fresh fish is what keeps me coming back again and again. It is mouth watering deliciousness. It’s the closest sashimi/sushi outside of Japan. I’ve had all of their sashimi and rolls and there is none that I wouldn’t order again. Pair it with sake or an adult beverage and life is good again. ❤️

On Saturday around 2:30pm we parked by the meter. We were seated right away. Casual dressing environment. Restroom was clean. There is an upstairs dining area that is accessible by stairs and elevator. There are 2 sushi bar areas, the smaller one seats rather close to the sushi chefs. Our sushi rolls took awhile to come even though they were many sushi chefs and a few tables and people at the sushi bar. The Daikon Hamachi was cut a little too thin for our preference which was not worth $21. Overall I am not a fan of the sushi here, it seems to cater the rolls more towards non-Asian/Japanese taste buds and most rolls are filled with Panko Shrimp.

Fresh sushi, great service and atmosphere. We sat by the bar and their chef gave us complementary edamame side! He was very nice! We tried several nigiris, hand rolls and special rolls, and all was great! Their hot green tea was very good, too. I think this is one of the best sushi restaurants in the downtown and it is worth checking out. I really liked their salmon and yellowtail nigiri and they have several special hand rolls, too.

I am writing a review to give Mikuni a second chance and I was not surprised, I should have listen to myself the first time around. I had ordered the spicy tuna roll and the Carmen lobster roll and this is what I was given (see picture below). I was expecting a super fresh spicy tuna roll with a nice kick of spicy but was let down. The spicy tuna was murky and very oily, and had one piece of cucumber. I was really expecting a fresh tasting tuna with a nice mixture of blended spicy; all I got was old tasting tuna mixed with the little spicy that had no flavor. The carmen lobster roll I paid 21$ for and I was really excited to try it, it had deep fried lobster and had crab mix on top with a mixture of sauces. I was expecting my lobster to be fresh, crispy and warm but ended up getting soggy, bland and tough lobster inside the roll. The crab mix was super salty, and had to douse the crab mix in their sauce as it was overwhelmingly salty; The ends of the lobster roll actually had no lobster in it, I was left with two pieces of roll that just had soggy batter in between the roll. Mikuni had many sushi chefs and all they could have done was at least make sure the quality was on point.. they did not disappoint. I will not be back as my expectations were not met. I was expecting fresh and crispy sushi rolls, not soggy and cold sushi. I gave Mikuni another chance and I should have followed my gut instinct. The food could have been quality checked prior, they had many sushi chefs at their arsenal, they failed to redeem themselves, maybe it’s the midtown location, I am not sure, I will be taking my sushi cravings somewhere else..

This place is amazing. The sashimi platter was generous, and both my friend and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The ambiance is ideal for dates and casual hangouts, and its location is conveniently close to Capital Hall and other exciting spots.

Ordered the Spicy Johnny which was excellent and the Japanses Mafia Roll which was a bit fishy. Miso was soup was solid as was the service. There was a wait for a table when I arrived but fortunately was sat immediately at the bar. Very good but lacks the OMG for the price as its a bit expensive.

Came by without a reservation. Put our name down in person but still had to wait awhile. During the wait, we hopped over to Public House to grab some drinks.Ordered sake and sapporos for drinks. For food, we ordered the dinner for two:-edamame freaky: way too spicy and salty. Inedible after you had a few.-sea steak: probably the best dish out of the lot.-fresh roll: not good, scale found :(-spicy tuna hand roll: mushy, a bit discolored, and didnt taste very fresh-cheese cake: okIn general, not a whole lot stood out to me. Seafood didnt seem very fresh. Not sure Ill be back.Street parking.

The sushi 🍱, sashimi, and nigiri 🍣 was delicious! Fresh, clean, beautiful, and all around worth the visit. We had the Incredible Roll, BMW Roll, Lobstermania Roll, and the Tommy Roll (my favorite). None of them were disappointments. In fact the very opposite! One of my top sushi spots in Sacramento. The reason I gave the food 4 stars ⭐️ instead of 5 stars ⭐️ is because the sunomono salad tasted as if they had just tossed it together. The cucumbers had not had enough time to marinade so they lacked in flavor, depth, and were too crunchy. The wasabi had a weird blue tint to it, definitely not the traditional green. It still tasted the same but the color was a little off-putting.The seaweed salad was very good, and I usually am not a fan of seaweed salads. So that’s saying something.I have to say this is definitely a place to check out if your visiting or live in town.
