Mikuni did not disappoint. I have been to a few of their locations, but this was my first time visiting the Concord one.My sashimi dinner was very good. Each piece of fish was fresh and delicious. We also ordered a salmon teriyaki dinner plate and Tuna slider appetizers. Everything was tasty.Service was prompt, friendly, and warm. Great overall experience.

This location is at The Veranda shopping complex and can get really busy with families and people trying to catch a game at the bar. The cocktails are great and garlic edamame is delicious. Food is also great and so many options to choose from.

Great spot for yummy sushi. Chill vibes and a nice atmosphere. Came for my bday celebration 🎉 didnt receive the best customer service from our waitress for the night. But upper management did handle the situation. I definitely would come back at eat there delicious food.

Food is a little bit salty. There’s more rice than the actual protein you ordered. I will definitely come back to ease my hunger but I don’t really like the portion size, but of course that’s only my opinion. The service is great, atmosphere is great.

Tasty food and a great atmosphere. Good choice of cocktails and beer. Quite upscalled place. I wish there was a bigger choice of vegetarian and vegan options. But thats a sushi place so my expectations are not that high. Services always great here even though it might be a little slow. Mostly because theres always a lot of people and sometimes there is quite a long wait time for a table. I like that they have an expanded bar area with a first come first serve sitting.

While it was very busy, so much so that we sat in the bar area, it was still a quiet enough atmosphere to be able to talk and not feel crammed in. Expected slow food service in the bar, but received both drinks & food within a very reasonable time frame. The food was all so fresh & delicious. Definitely recommend it to anyone that likes this type of food. Parking was terrible, so leave time for that.

The food is good, the portions are a bit small for the price. There is always a wait so be prepared to wait at least 30 minutes for a table. I do not recommend sitting at the bar, I sat there the week before this visit and the service was definitely lacking. My food took an hour.This visit 12/23, I went during the lunch time. It was very busy but I had a really good server that bought out our food and drinks out on time. Feel free to checkout the pics😄

Very happy with our lunch here today. We chose to dine on the patio, and even though it was a warm day, it was very pleasant. Several vegans in our group and there were plenty of delicious roll and appetizer options for us. Food was excellent and service was great. Perfect place to eat before or after a movie or trip to the book store.

The ambiance is stylish and cozy, with a spacious outdoor seating area. Ive been to this restaurant a couple of times, and I have to say that the service and food is really good, this is a review of this specific experience and not of all my visits in general.At first, th waiter handed us the food and he was pretty nice, just when I was about to take a bite into my sushi, my dad told me Wait dont And then he later explained that when he separated those two little black plates, there was a big white spider underneath. He was pretty chill about it and told the workers there, then we left. I hope you guys removed the spider. I got to eat a salad for free in the end though, I guess. Not too disappointed because this can happen at any restaurant; just maybe more often check the dishes please! I will probably be coming back in a couple of weeks, but I hope this review helped.

People working the food line needs to slow down and make sure you make our food the correct way and the correct portion. I tried using the chop sticks and the sushi fell apart. The rice wasnt pack tight. The food is $$ . When the food is made right its good.

I was in the area for lunch and decided to try this place. It was nice to see there was a designated lunch menu. I couldnt decide on one thing, so I went with the Sushi Illustrated Combo. I ate twice from the rolls and enjoyed every bite. The rolls werent amazing but each one had its own flavor, which I appreciated.

One of the new places to eat at the Veranda that I wanted to try, Mikunis! This is at a great spot! Theres a huge parking lot and a few other things to do in the area while you wait for your table. (Cant make reservations) but they take your number down so you can be sure to be called. Theres a small play area for kids and you can watch the dancing water fall nearby.The restaurant has lots of seating inside and outside. They have a nice ambiance not too bright inside. The staff are wonderful, if you have any questions about their menu or sushi ask Eric. He was our server. His knowledge of sushi was amazing. Glad he was there to recommend some great favorites.We tried the Tommy Sushi, it had lots of wonderful things in it (tuna, soft shell crab, avocado, real crab topping on top (additional $3) but so worth it. We also tried albacore tuna for appetizer that was seared to perfection, that came with the spicy mayo sauce ...yummmmm!!!!! Oh please try the garlicky edimame soooo so good, do that to start with and finish with a sushi!!!! By the Way, they have a kids menu so yes, take the kiddos with you!!!Update: 02.07.2022. We ordered two different kinds of sushi one was Japanese Mafia Roll and Incredible roll. It was kind of funny because when they came they looked similar. The difference was mine had shrimp tempura filling and the other had imitation crab so just a little disappointed there.What I liked best this time was our order of Edimame seasoned with garlic, lemon, salt and cilantro and the freaky Brussels seasoned so well I could eat that by itself with just rice. I highly recommend these two appetizer unless you’re going back to work :). The edimame is garlicky but soo good! I think we ordered five things and spent less than $75! Not bad at all! Service was awesome as usual!

Maybe its because many people have hyped this place up to me and my expectations were high. But I didnt find this place as good as I thought it would be. Its not bad, but it is not great. Maybe Im picky about Japanese food. One thing I have to comment about is the white rice was a bit dry and hard. I didnt eat much of it due to that. I ordered a bento with Karaage Chicken & California Roll. The chicken was crunchy and cooked well but a little salty for my taste. The sushi was fresh and tasted good. It came with salad which had a nice dressing & we already talked about the rice. I was in a large group and the service was decent. We sat on the patio which was nice. I would go back but it is not my first choice for Japanese food in the area.

I was totally disappointed with my Tempura order. It appeared that I was given someone’s leftovers. There was sauce on the bottom of the container and the sauce was less than half. I really believe that I was given someone’s leftovers. Thought me a costly message TO CHECK MY FOOD before leaving.

Outdoor dining post pandemic feels like the most comfortable way to go and this place offered seating that didnt feel claustrophobic.Food wise, my wife and I enjoyed the dinner for two offering which was affordable and filling. The beef teriyaki was tender, flavorful and not overcooked. All our dishes tasted freshly made which is a huge difference since a lot of our dining experiences for the past year have been take out which do not do some foods justice.

Ambiance is a bit stiff, when I went the tvs were off, so kind of boring. Worth a try, but better cuts and deals at other local sushi restaurants. Apparently theres a secret menu where you can get fresh Wasabi if you ask for it.

Fun and convenient place to dine if you are headed to the movie theater next door. The focus is on the many sushi rolls with lots of sauces. Its not the kind of place you go for perfect slices of fish and carefully shaped nigiri. Food was good, and we were able to sit in the covered outdoor patio. My 10 year old kid gave it 2 thumbs up!

There was over a 2 hour wait when we arrived. I do not understand why it is that they are not accepting reservations yet. The bar area is open to whomever gets the seat first and they will serve dinner there. Thats the only reason we got dinner at an appropriate time. Drinks and food were good. Weekend dinner outing was enjoyable.. no reservations..walkin.. first come basis.. with text updates when table is ready. Busy on weekends.. Anyone who serves uni from Japan gets my vote. I tend not to like sushi restaurants that have way too many rolls on the menu, but Mikuni has some interesting options, and all the ones we had were delicious. What really pushed me to give this place four stars is their service. The staff were all friendly and accommodating — something you want in a hospitality business. The decor is modern and and the vibe is cool. It is also located in a nicely developed shopping and dining complex. They don’t take rezzies, but there’s plenty to explore in the area while you wait.

For a pace that was stated by a Japanese minister, it seems to want to try to look modern when it doesnt have to. The food looks great, but the Sushi pieces are very small. Presentation is good too. I had a wonderful lunch at Mikuni today. They have a good selection and good prices on their happy hour menu. I got a small hot sake for $5.50, the wakame seaweed salad for $4.50, and the sea steak for $14 (your choice of white or red tuna steak). The service was very good as well.

This place looks very clean and nice environment but in my rainbow there was a small hair I could see the beginning of the follicle and the end and it was super short so it wasnt hair it was a hair from who knows what part of the body. They changed the color of the plate but it arrived super fast it didnt take long Im sure they just removed the hair and gave it to me again. I will definitely not return to this place

I wanted Japanese food and this place was recommended to me. I came in with an empty stomach and a giant appetite. When I left, I definitely felt satisfied.I splurged and got myself three items for dinner: a tonkatsu ramen bowl, a beef curry plate topped with tonkatsu, and a DMC sushi roll. The ramen was fine though not as rich or fatty as I would have liked. The beef curry plate was scrumptious and loaded with chunks of tender beef and vegetables. The curry flavor was leaning more towards the sweeter side which is fine but not exactly what I was looking for. I also wish the tonkatsu on top was a bigger portion but since I had other dishes to eat, I didnt mind. The DMC roll was the true star of the show. Since having sushi in Japan I found most sushi here not up to my standards. But this DMC roll blew me away! Since it has LOBSTER tempura, the roll is on the pricey side but is well worth it. I would come back just for that.Customer service was great. Got seated right away and my every need was taken care of in a timely manner. The look of the restaurant inside itself looked sleek and clean. The food presentation is just incredible; the look of the dishes were absolutely tantalizing which added to the eating satisfaction. Overall, Id definitely come back again and recommend it to others.Also, I got to eat indoors here a couple weeks after the county allowed for indoor dining again. The staff all wore masks correctly, hand sanitizers were readily available, and I saw management performing temperature checks on oncoming employees. They really help make you feel a little safer about dining inside again.

I finally was able to come and check this location out as I have been to two other locations in the Sacramento area and enjoy them quite well. I sat at the bar and struck up a nice conversation with two of the sushi chefs. They were super nice and fun to talk to. The manager... Was also incredibly super nice and talkative and my gorgeous server... May this one of my favorite places to come for lunch. Everyone here was so friendly and not the fake kind of friendly... But genuinely friendly and fun to talk to. I chat it up throughout the whole meal and we had some good laughs and good conversations about movies in the movie theater next door. The food was spectacular... I might suggest trying their bento box with the teriyaki beef which is thinly sliced and cooked so wonderfully its making my mouth water just thinking about it. I would like to come back and try some of their roles but the Bento Box filled me in was plenty. Definitely one of my favorite sushi spots in this area and I will be coming back for more. If they keep up their great attitude and friendliness... This place will be super successful.

My girlfriends took me to Mikuni for my birthday and it was not only lots of fun but the food and our cocktails were amazing! It was about 10 of us and everyone kept saying the same thing. Was so genuinely surprised that a large chain like this was so quality! The rolls are delicious and the sashimi is very fresh! This is my kids go-to for their birthday dinners. And if you need any more convincing, my wife, born and raised in Japan also enjoys it! Obviously it doesnt compare to the real deal (a.k.a quality in Japan), but it absolutely does the job holding us over till the next time we visit! The atmosphere and service are all wonderful and the location is very family friendly!

Sushi was very good. Great variety of sushi.The only complaint (not the restaurants fault) is the stupid vaccine mandate to dine in. I couldnt get in most places in CA.

We love Sushi and were excited to see another restaurant opening. But the rolls, while tasting fine, were small, especially for the price! Every item on the menu was higher than comparable restaurants in the East Bay area!! Disappointing, as we have had as good And better at many other places. Server, Eric I think,was fast and attentive... until we said we dont drink. After that he was not so attentive but overall ok.We wont be back, there are too many other really good places that dont over charge And dont care if you order drinks or not!

Excellent service! Our server was awesome, efficient and even asked about how my Hakushu 12 was. Oh yeah, and about the food? It was the best tuna Ive ever tasted! Well have to come back!

The quality and variety of food is fine but today SEUNG JU made this visit OUTSTANDING! He has superior customer service and provides the little but ever-so-thoughtful bits that turn okay into amazing! He has excellent timing and makes you feel like youre his only (best?) customer despite how busy the restaurant actually is. Ask for SEUNG JU when you dine here - you will not be disappointedASK

Best. Sushi. Spot. In. Town. Im a bit biased, as they are a Sacramento chain which is where I first dined with them. I went to Sac State so I frequently ate at Mikuni. That aside, prices are fair and everything is good. They offer a great meal for two at $49! More than enough food for sure. Enjoy!

Always pretty solid. Slightly pricey than other sushi spots, especially for a chain restaurant. But at least you always know youre going to get pretty decent quality. Never had a bad experience. Definitely reccomend.

I totally love this location, perfect date spot, the freshest Sushi I had eaten in a long time not to discredit any other sushi places.Our bartender we had was phenomenal Granite we sat at the bar so we could get a first glimpse of how our drinks were being formulated. Their drink selection for cocktails was phenomenal as well we had a cucumber gimlet which I highly recommend.We had a few other drinks that I cant complain about. Although this place is very busy its spacious and quiet enough to enjoy your meal & drinks and have a conversation without screaming at each other because its so loud.Another perk for this location is that its next door and smack dab in the IMAX veranda Plaza. Parking is free and very spacious an abundant.

Sat at the bar with my girlfriend for our first time here. Let me tell you it absolutely did not dissapoint. We had some delicious drinks to start and our bartender (wish I remember his name) was so, so good. What a pro at his craft and fantastic conversationalist, we were off to an excellent start. We perused the menu and made some choices. Once again with excellence our bartender made some recommendations for additions; some different types of Wasabi. We went for it and were super glad we did. The food came out at a good pace and everything was absolutely delicious. We only had rolls and deep fried oysters but everything had a great freshness to it. Very well presented and awesome varied flavors. Id say this place is absolutely excellent we will be going back as it was a very memorable night. Thanks so much to the staff, our amazing bartender, and the owners for deciding to make a location here. If you have a chance to try it, do it!!

This place is always good food. And when you get amazing staff like Brianna to serve your table, then it is AAA all the way. :)
