It was tasty, but the vegetable was not properly washed and had dirt! Also a $21fried rice?Not the fastest place either. Asked for a house special and was told it takes 25 mins. My soup took about 20 and it was 80% rice noodle!Im not a finger person, but they have good reviews; maybe next time.Came back and tried their seafood chow fun. $25 for mostly noodle! I gave them two star before. Its generous!

We tried to go to Saigon for Lunar New Year-Eves dinner but did not have a reservation and didnt want to wait. So we headed here for dinner instead. This was a very pleasant find the taste is authentic Cantonese style. They even have the claypot rice! We didnt order it this time but the BBQ Duck was very flavorful -- although I personally would prefer the duck to be on a fattier side (all the duck fat/juice...yum) but the walnut shrimp and the other seafood dishes were also very nice. The lobster noodles could use a bit more flavor but its definitely a very nice meal and wed love to come back to try their other items.

The service is AWFUL!1. Wait very very long to get assigned a table. Wait very very very long to get the food ordered. 20mins after we order our food, they came to tell us the dish is sold out.2. The table is super dirty. We asked the waiter and he just cleaned (wiped) it with hand. grease, oil and rice still all over the table after the “cleaning”.3. Price is unclear - we ordered a $28 fish dish and it turned out to be sold out. The waiter recommended another one and told us it’s $32, which was ok to us. 10min later, right before cooking, the waiter came and told us it’s per pound not per dish. The dish would be $80. Speechless for all of these.I just want to have a meal after a tiring day. But it turned out to be endless waiting, awful service and ridiculous pricing. This restaurant ruined my dinner and my day.

Ordered at the restaurant. Waited a really long time (over an hour I think). Definitely order ahead next time. We only went cause we thought about outdoor seating but it was pretty chilly and the seating plaza didnt look too good anyways. Probably should just eat takeout.The food is good and solid and Id eat this place again for sure. Fortune there was a park nearby for us to walk around as we waited for our food.

I came here for a birthday and absolutely loved the food. I really recommend the garlic oyster dish - its super flavorful. And the steamed fish is so soft and tender.The owners were there and are really nice and helped us pick out food.The atmosphere was casual and they have a lot of seating and big tables.The service was very friendly too. and parking is very easy.Highly recommend if you’re looking for authentic Cantonese!

The food was good and the open atmosphere made the place feel very lovely during dinner time. The lunch and dinner menus are a little different. We were caught out by this as we came during dinner time, but the food we want d to eat was only served at lunch. Regardless, we had a good time and the portions were very good for the price.

A busy Chinese restaurant, expect service you would expect from any other Chinese restaurant. To the point, abrupt if you are taking a while but theyre busy so cant blame them! Food and portions were good, we got the Peking duck meal for the table and picked out a couple dishes off their list that you can choose from. Food came out hot, many other tables got the rice wrapped in a giant lotus leaf which can serve an entire table! Theyre also known for their congee, will have to try it next time

New to this restaurant, but Im a bit in love. Its hard to find quality Cantonese-style Chinese food nowadays. The old favorites have all shut down, either their cooks left or retired. So I was a bit shocked that Ive never heard of Ming Tasty. I love their roasted duck with the plum sauce. We had one of their rice porridges and it was also super delicious. Their duck tongue was also A+. If you love bitter melon, theyve got a great bitter melon stir fry. Also, get this, theyre open till 12AM. We ordered, some dim sum off the menu. Cant really go wrong with fried dough wrapped in rice noodle soaked with sweetened soy sauce. My family will be back. I didnt try their waffle dessert, but I was just surprised that it was on the menu.

Hong Kong Chinese food, at affordable prices with fast service. A little less yummy than Saigon next door, but no lines. Try the giant clams and pork dishes. Spicy veg noodles for vegetarians. They also have a small collection of good desserts.

Really bad experience for pickup. Congee was basically rice in a bit of soup. The char siu in the 叉烧肠粉 has gone bad — tasted at least a couple days old and some parts were sour. I spit it out.I wanted to like this place. It was at least four stars on my previous experience eating in, but it is clearly difficult to maintain quality amidst COVID-19 conditions.

As a Cantonese from Hong Kong, I found this place a little disappointing. The other review is correct, the chicken only has bones and no meat. The char siu was kinda dry and has no fatty part. The pan fried seafood noodle was lacking flavors. The prices are also higher than other Cantonese restaurants. I had high expectation coming in, but I wont be back.

Very slow and unprofessional service. I came here to pick up for doordash. The lady at register ignore me for 15 minutes and she speak Chinese when I cant understand. Doordash needs to take thsk restaurant off. Worse. They discriminate you if you cant speak Chinese. They made you wait on orders. The lady in front helped those who can speak Chinese and ignore me. She was happy and said hao hao means good good. Very unprofessional place. The order was waited for an hour and I had to call doordash to cancel the order.

Has a very expansive menu covering Asian delights to more Americanized HK cafe fare. Some things are a real hit and miss here. Stick to cafe styled foods, generally avoid the dim sum, and make sure to double check everything thats delivered to you. Service is not the best here. We often find plates dont arrive at all or the wrong dish is delivered.

One of the few places that offers dim sum for dinner! Relatively large portions makes this place a pretty good deal. The food was nothing to write home about -- just your standard comfort Cantonese fare. We ordered beef chow fun, chow mein, egg yolk custard bun, sticky rice, carrot cake, and ong choy (A-choy). I was somewhat disappointed by the ong choy because the vegetable was rather old and the pieces were cut much too large, making it unwieldy to eat.

Tasty is in its name and tasty are its dishes. If you can ignore the downright bland exterior and the cheap interior, you can enjoy some of the most authentic Cantonese household dishes in this crowded joint, at extremely reasonable prices. (The shame was on me that I didnt discover this foodies’ paradise all these years.) It is only the degree of lacking in dining environment that is withholding the last star.The restaurants Chinese name, 凤凰名粥, or “Phoenix Famous Porridge”, unmistakably suggests Cantonese style, different from the many Taiwanese porridge places. My daughter was already a fan of “Thousand-year-egg and lean pork porridge” (皮蛋瘦肉粥), perhaps the most famous of this line of dishes. In addition to this, we ordered steamed chicken claws with black fermented soybeans (豆豉蒸凤爪) and steamed buns with salty egg stuffing (咸蛋流沙包), both typical dim sim Cantonese. Especially the latter, such a low-brow delicacy. And it did not disappoint. All of the dishes were right on spot! In fact, they are the best I have had in the area. (Although I usually go after seafood in Cantonese places, I have had plenty dim sim. Still, I am not sure if salty egg stuffing is common in dim sim places.) They are enough to convince me to trust any Cantonese dishes in Ming Tasty. (Even more reason to be cautious about other cuisines.)The three were not enough for two, it turned out. So we ordered another of our low-brow favourites, pig large intestine. OK. That’s pork large intestine for you sensitive type. I do not know how Cantonese do their large intestines, but Ming Tasty only offers them deep fried. This one was as good as we got from the Taiwanese Nutrition House in Milpitas. (See my other review.)We arrived around 1pm on a weekday, not the exact lunch peak but still, there are plenty of people waiting at door. A line is always a good sign. Inside were happy faces of many ethnic Chinese. Even better. So we stayed. Luckily, seating two was faster than other parties.Inside, the cheapness of furniture to the extent of being flimsy gave me a start. This is saying something because many cheap Chinese eats use inexpensive furniture. Utensils are all plastic, the cheap looking kind. Seating is crowded. Decoration is practically nonexistent except a curved counter that resembles a colourful bar. This is quite baffling, although it does influence your perception about the space being decorationless. But the main element that twists reality is its interesting lighting. Contrary to Mountain Views super heavily furnitured Kirin (see my other review), there is definitely some thoughts in the ceiling and light combination. Despite being super cheap, the interior is highly photogenic.The same cannot be said about the exterior, however. From the outside, Ming Tasty so unremarkable that it is nearly indistinguishable from the third-class pho place next door. (Even more shame that I actually tried that one a year before discovering this one.)In short, this is a foodies’ paradise. Just skip the bad exterior, signage, cheap furniture and utensil. Go straight for taste. You won’t be disappointed.

Its got its good and bad. Food is great and its main customers are chinese which shows they make authentic food that is very delicious. I have gone to this place many times and I was never disappointed with their food. However, issue is the customer service.I have both eaten in and taken out and experience in all times have been poor in customer service. If you do not try your best to get their attention especially if you are not chinese, you wont get any customer service. If you are taking food out, you are left standing there and ignored for a long time as the cashier also serves as a waiter and walks off alot and only when he or she has some spare time does he/she take your take out order. They do not even acknowledge your presence until they are ready even if there is a few people lined up. Not even a simple hello or please wait.

They were kind enough to serve me with only 10min left before closing, but I must admit that the food was disgusting and I vomited it all up about 1.5hrs later.I have not had hong-kong style cuisine, but my chicken chow mein had what appeared to be tripe instead of chicken? Barf. (If that is the norm, then please disregard.)The won-ton soup and even just the broth itself was inedible (yeah, thats right) and the spring rolls were even gross.I hope that I am not just disgusted with hong-kong style and accidentally giving this place a bad rap. Regardless, my body agreed with my review and refused to let me sleep without throwing up every last bit of what I had tried to consume.

5/29/2015The only Chinese restaurant Ive been to in Sunnyvale during my short trip to California and we ordered theBeef Short RibsEggplant w/Pork Slice CasseroleTofu and FishballsEverything tasted great though it might be too flavorful for some. In comparing this to NYs Chinatown, this is similar to XO Kitchen style.Much to my surprise the short ribs were marinated in Sa Cha sauce which gave it a refreshing peppery taste. The Tofu and Fishballs was tasteless but the soy sauce (with some hot oil) made it perfect and of course the Eggplant Casserole was very oily but the excess salt hindered the Eggplants natural sweetness.My only complaint is the rice tasted like it could have been recooked from the day before but overall excellent and very true to Cantonese cuisine.

Great Hong Kong style Chinese food and it opens until late. It is my go-to place if I need any food late at night. However Im very disappointed at the XO source fried rice. Its marked with a chili pepper on the manu but its not spicy at all. I cant even taste any XO source. Other fried rice dishes are good. People can be more friendly but hey its HK style. What are you expecting?

Haha, if you dont understand Hong Kong street vendors (大排档)(Dai Pai Dong) styles food then dont comment on this restaurant. In U.S. find this type of cooking is hard, and authentic, is almost impossible. I gave 90% rating, and the services supposed to be rude because thats how Cantoneses expression. You have to speak the language and speak loud to them. That means you are one of them, then the door is wide open. Good luck, Ming is a bad ass Hong Kong style restaurant that you can find in the States.
