2023-11-27 06:35:49Absolute yes!!!The culinary experience at this establishment is unparalleled. The Chou chai dumplings with peanuts, pork and shrimp, stuffed eggplant on an iron plate, deep-fried meat dumplings, and dream frog clay pot rice were all exceptionally flavorful and mouthwatering. We also ordered the wonton soup because it’s a classic and we were craving something warm and soupy but I would recommend skipping it and making room for more dumplings. There were so many to choose from, I’ll have to order everything in the menu one day to taste each one. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐However, the journey to the restroom was a bit disheartening. The hallway walls were nasty and stained, giving an off-putting vibe. 🖌️ A simple paint job could do wonders. The restroom itself needs attention—adding plants 🪴, some fragrance, and another coat of paint would elevate the overall experience.Despite this minor setback, my family and I will be returning for the outstanding cuisine. I urge the owners to consider improving the restroom area to match the excellence of their dining establishment. 🍽️

2023-11-20 21:07:13This is one of my favorite restaurants in Oakland. Food and kitchen are consistently good, sometimes verging on fantastic. Prices very good. Service very good, but remember some staff may have limited english skills. This is the kind of place where they remember you after youve been there a few times.Im not at all surprised some reviewers felt this was the best dimsum they had found outside of Hong Kong.Portions are large, and they dont skimp. You can tell the quality of the kitchen because prawns are generally nearly perfectly cooked.Almost everything on menu is very good to excellent. Standouts: iron plate stuffed eggplant. Whatever you do dont leave any of the sauce!Sort of that perfect sweet spot between price quality and vibe/service only the food is much better than what you might expect from the exterior and interior, which are fairly functional.I really like the people who work there. I have no idea why any reviewer would complain about bad service. Ive come here for years and have never seen them be less than polite and competent so take those reviews with huge grain of salt.

2023-09-23 21:36:30Price is reasonable and the taste is very good and much worth than their price. The staff are friendly and willing to help even though it is crowded and they are busy. Lots of ppl and no much street parking. But The public parking building nearby has lots of vacancy and the parking is cheap. Overall the restaurant is good and food of high quality and reasonable price and parking is easy.

2023-07-10 00:45:54Waited for about 30mins during the Sunday lunch rush at 2pm. Food was good, ordered some dim sum. I’d recommend the cheongfun and any of the crystal skin dumplings. I’ve had better BBQ pork buns and lo mai gai elsewhere though.

2023-09-24 01:23:37Fantastic and well-priced food accompanied by great service. It was busy on Friday at lunchtime but I put our names down and we were seated quickly. There’s a parking garage across the street for $6/hr as it’s impossible to find street parking. I’ve been here before and will come again! 😊

2023-02-21 18:07:58The dim sum staples are all decent, but its the unique items that earned the 5 stars despite the long wait and below average ambience. The Snowy Baked BBQ buns are coated with a sugary frosting which create a unique flavor. I have never had the crispy shrimp chang fun (rice noodle) before and its so good that I wish I ordered more. The Deep Fried Tofu Skin Wrap is another one that I will miss when I go back home. Ive had tofu skins in soup and steamed plenty of times, but never like a spring roll wrap. The ladies that served us were friendly and informative. Enjoyed the brunch even though a 45 minutes wait on a Monday @ 12:30 PM

2023-07-04 17:00:12Very solid place.Only negatives: There was one random fly that I suspect was attracted by our durian dish. The changfen was weirdly in 5 pieces.

2023-10-20 22:57:07Visiting with a high school best friend from last century we had the opportunity to have a late afternoon snack at Mings. Not being familiar with the menu we ordered a variety of items. Should have read the reviews to find other reviewers favs. Our outstanding item was the eggplant item. Sizzling hot and delicious. We would order it every time, but were from NJ. Prices were very reasonable. Who cares about the atmosphere when youre there for freshly prepared dim sum? (However, the seats could use some re- upholstery.) Next trip to California we will make it a point to come back to Mings Tasty...and visit my lifelong friend, too.

2023-03-05 01:13:25This place is chaotic, crowded and often busy but don’t let that deter you. The dim sum here is good. Dim sum restaurants these days don’t push their dishes on carts anymore so you can mark your selections on a menu so it’s pretty easy. They carry most of the common dishes and their pineapple char-shiu bao is excellent.
