Coming here for over 30 years! Ive been to a wide range of Japanese restaurants -- from the really fancy expensive to the simple and cheap. This place sits at a fine balance with well prepared and luscious plates at an affordable price. The staff is always welcoming and friendly. Even with so many choices in the valley, this is my cozy go-to place. Btw if you havent been here before, the Kaiyaki is a must try!

Solid sushi place with probably the best service in town. Usually sit at the bar and get hamachi Kama and yellow tail belly. Their scallop is really good too and highly recommended. Uni is usually from santa Barbara and fresh. They also have a lunch hand roll special too.

My favorite sushi restaurant. I moved, this used to be my neighborhood but now I live in the San Gabriel Valley but any time I am in the San Fernando Valley I make a point to come here for lunch.The food is always fresh and it’s like coming to see a long time family friend, I am at home when I am here.

Came here for a solo dinner and had a great experience here. The owners are SUPER nice. Service was soooo fantastic!!! Pricing is fair and sushi is good. Highly recommend!!

I ordered salmon roe, jumbo scallops, and the teriyaki chicken dinner with tempura. I forgot to order the teriyaki sauce on the side. I dont like the chicken doused with sauce. Everything else was great. Service was excellent too.

Weve been living in Valley Village for going on 6 years now and I wanna say have been coming to Miya about as many years and it is still one of our favorite local places does Sushi.The place is tiny by most measures but it adds to the charm of the place. The staff is extremely nice and friendly and treat us like family and it really shows how much they love their customers. Many of the customers are regulars like us, usually from the area but the staff greets and treats all customers old and new just the same which is so rare these days.The food itself also never disappoints, weve never had a bad food experience here and weve tried most things on the menu. The sushi itself is very fresh, bakes mussels are one of my wifes favorites. If youre a very large party, maybe 8 or more it may be hard to accommodate either way it is best to call in advance and put your name down on busier nights like Friday or Saturday. During the week youre almost always bound to find an opening especially if youre a couple for instance.Parking is shared with the Bank of America across from it and the string of businesses to the right of it but you can find parking most of the time.

VERY solid sushi restaurant. Their yellow tail collar is tasty, as are their hand rolls. Especially the spicy scallop and salmon skin hand rolls. I also highly recommend their fried tofu. Pretty much, this place concentrates on quality instead sauce-soaked rolls. If youre a fan of fish, plain and simple, this place is a must.

We were dying for sushi a few days and we stumbled across Miya Sushi. We were extremely satisfied with the service there. The food was quickly served to us and all the servers and managers were on it. You asked for something and it was on your table within seconds.The food was really good as well. We will definitely be going back.

Met up with a friend here to try their sushi. Id say its a solid four stars but not quite a five. The fish I had was decently good for the price, and the service was pretty good. The chirashi bowl has a good amount of fish.

Best traditional Japanese sushi bar in the valley. Excellent quality food, real Japanese sushi chefs with a congenial atmosphere and great service. Also has tables if you dont want to sit at the bar, with other delicious dishes like teriyaki, tempura, etc. Only place my Japanese mother would eat at.

I agree with a previous reviewer, this is the Cheers of North Hollywood, you will see the same people every time you go! I have been going here for 25 years when the original proprietors owned it, and one of their best hand rolls/cut rolls is named after the former owner Sean, order the Sean roll, you wont regret it! Also the eggplant Miso, best in town, tuna Tataki, best in town, tuna or albacore salad, best deal in town!

Delicious, with outstanding warm service. Sushi bar is pretty much strictly sushi. Table service provides you with more hot entree options, that said it is slower than the sushi bar. Both options are great though.

This is our Cheers restaurant. We have been coming here for 15 years and every time I eat Sushi anywhere else - I miss Miya. No other Sushi restaurant compares. And I have tried other places, even the famous ones, but Miyas Yellowtail Belly Sushi and their Tempura are my favorites. The service is wonderful - they make us feel like family, the food is fresh and delicious.

This is a great concept. High quality sushi rolls with daily specials. I went in early and it was nice, but I can see how it can become really busy really fast which would hinder my experience. Overall, I would suggest for the quality alone.

Ate here twice for lunch. The food is decent and well priced. Not as flavorful the second time around. The place could use some renovations, as the old carpeting in the dining room doesnt make for the cleanest environment for dining.

My family has been eating here for many years. Always excellent service and the quality of the food,always fresh and delicious, far surpasses the service! The eggplant with miso appetizer (mouth watering) is a must as are the Shishito peppers! Their Hamachi the best! but if you have a voracious appetite the Chirashi cannot be out done and its the most beautiful (and yummy) dish youll every be served!

Id add 10 stars if I could! This has been my hands down FAVORITE sushi restaurant since moving to SoCal 17 years ago. Its like walking in the sushi version of Cheers - they always know your name :) The fish is super fresh and if it isnt - its not on the menu. My son is now 10 and is a treat for him to sit at the bar and talk to the owner/sushi chef Toshi while eating.

Because of my job, I eat out a lot.I am Japanese, so somehow my clients prefer to take me to Sushi restaurants. Every time I try new places, I always ended up coming back here.If you can come alone or without children, just sit down at the counter - and order Chefs choice. Their chefs will NOT feed you any old fish (they have the great variety of cooked dishes for that reasons).Also, they make their own stuff - Pickles, Nimono, Miso, etc.My dad, who is a super authentic Japanese business man, was very pleased here too.So TRY IT!!!! Happy Sushi time!

This is not any place we can get fancy rolls with a lot of sauce this is where you get fresh delicious good priced real sushi fresh the best tempura lunch specials and dinner specials very good service honestly the best Japanese food and all of the valley only problem is parking but I cleaned up about 530 so worth it the absolute best best tastiest cleanest delicious amazing sushi
