Always thought the whole serve it on a block of salt thing was kinda overrated. I was wrong. Its delicious. I literally get Taste of the Himalayas every time I go now. Citrus roll is also a favorite!
We’ve been coming here since they open their doors. This is honestly my favorite sushi spot. I absolutely love everyone that works here and the food is absolutely delicious. Their miso soup is definitely one of the best in town! Simple but full of flavor. My favorite thing to order is the pepperfin (see photo). The albacore just melts in your mouth, the Fish is always fresh! Over the years, I have not had even one bad experience. This is obviously why we keep coming back. We literally get sushi from here once a week… at leastJust go eat here! You will not regret it, I promise!
I gotta say, this place was much better than Bento Box Midtown! The pricing is comparable- I mean if rolls are ALWAYS 50%OFF, then why not just put the discounted price on the menu?? Idk ijs🤷🤔Anyhoo- The Food!Miso soup was HOT (as soup should be) and just enough to satisfy my Miso cravings! It was perfectly delicious 😋!!!I also had Fried Tofu with my soup- they call it something else (I dont remember lol) because its not listed as fried tofu on the menu...these symmetrical cubes were uniformly dusted (on EVERY SIDE) with panko, perfectly deep-fried and presented with thin strips of Nori❤️ (BB Tofu only had panko on top, random sized/cut pieces-fried and thrown into a styrofoam box).The two rolls I had were really good! Spicy tuna roll (which was deep fried- I dont know what happened- I thought I was paying attention but I really wasnt because I assumed it would be raw lol but thats on me! It was still delicious! Roll #2 was the J and J with crab mix and Shrimp, it too was delicious.One thing tho that was disappointing- they didnt have coffee (I thought EVERY restaurant had coffee 😂☕) so then I asked for tea- THEY WERE OUT OF TEA!!! How is that even possible that at 2pm on a moderately busy afternoon (not at all what I expected for a Mothers Day) can you possibly be OUT OF TEA?!? AT A SUSHI RESTAURANT OF ALL PLACES?!? 😡😂🤦 But that alone didnt warrant me taking away any stars, the food, presentation and ambiance was the perfect setting for THIS mother on Mothers Day!So GO, on ANY day and be satisfied and satiated (those words mean the same thing but I wanna use them anyway sooo...🤷) Portion sizes are more than enough for any appetite! I couldnt finish all of mine after first having tofu and Miso soup! You wont be disappointed! Waitstaff was amazing too!!❤️❤️❤️
The red hot habenero masago is AMAZING!!! Our bill was $110 for the 3 of us, but we ordered a ton of food and sashimi platter as one of our appetizers .The sashimi was nice think cuts, well worth the cost. The quality was great.We will go again.

Finally fed up....I couldnt stop going because theyre food is good but the service is horrible. They constantly get the order wrong while making you wait a long time, the usual response is 25 minutes, Ill give them 40 mins, but then still spend 20+ minutes standing at the counter waiting (every time). Horrible service... I will not be returning, plenty of other restaurants in the area....
The worst customer service… sushi taste great but due to the customer service rating 1 star. If you order to go and come to pick up they will say they are saucing your sushi and you have to wait for 30 minutes. If you eat inside waiters avoid eye contact and will not come up to you.

My husband & I have been coming here for years & it’s our go-to spot! To be honest we probably order almost once a week. The sushi is fresh and the fried rolls aren’t soggy which is something we have experienced at a lot of places.I recommend the nigiri, aloha roll, citrus roll!
It is a bit dark in here but the food was good, the ice cream was Creamy and delishhhhh. Would go again

We waited a long time for the order, they said it would be done in 25-30 minutes, even though the order was ready, in the end they gave the order after 50 minutes, despite the fact that a pregnant woman was waiting
This place is amazing! We arrived when the restaurant was almost full and the waitress still took our order very fast. All of the rolls are delicious, especially Super California and Sakura rolls. There is also nice music and atmosphere in the place 😃
Great sushi, relaxing atmosphere, nicely decorated, reasonable prices, great sushi. (Wait, I said that. Oh well, it deserves repeating). Tsunami, Rainbow and Citrus rolls are favorites.
The decor in the place is lovely, the service was alright however my dish was not something that is recommend or get again. I ordered the sesame chicken bowl and to my surprise it was katsu chicken with sesame style sauce. The bowl is also full of rice and barely any vegetables or chicken. Maybe trying something else in the menu would have given them a better rating but not sure that is warranted for another visit.

I have been coming to Mizuki consistently as my go-to sushi place since 2017. I have tried every single roll and I love pretty much all of them, but of course I have my favorites. I definitely recommend the J&J, as well as the Citrus roll (both on the half of menu, of course).
I wish this place took reservations. We come here to celebrate birthdays and bring a small crowd (over 10 people).

We went in after playing in a tournament all day. It was a party of 5 and 1 of my teammates didnt get their order. I had to ask as we were all sitting eating. The order was never entered. There were only about 10-15 people there. I was surprised the server didnt offer to fix it, offer an app, discount or free meal to go for the inconvenience. Its too bad and for that I only gave 2 stars. Their rolls were really good and they had football on so thats a plus for environment. Aside from this mishap Id consider going back but wouldve asked sooner about our food.

Writing this sucks because the food is great. Stars for food and nice (although not very good) servers.Our server never came back after dropping appetizers. After asking another server if we could put in an order, we got a different person each time, but they were nice. They had to ask who was our original server (disorganized), and two different servers attempted to check us out twice (again, disorganized). Worst part was when we realized that it was the owner/manager who was the lady taking sake bombs with friends at multiple tables while we were waiting for service - the WHOLE time we were there - sitting - waiting - over an hour!After that night tried to call 4 times different days and different times, and everytime the owner/manager wasnt there. I tried to talk it out privately but I guess shes too busy running an amazing opportunity into the ground. I think the chefs need to venture off to another place with professional leadership and organization. We will happily follow!

I have been coming to mizuki restaurant for many years now. I have always enjoyed the food, good prices, and good sushi. Recently the quality of their sushi is not the same. The prices have gone up about 3 to 4 dollars more for a roll. Price went up and quality went down! They have started to skimp on the amount of fish on the rolls and when I left the restaurant I felt super exhausted and bloated after eating the food. Sushi is not supposed to make you feel like that. I even woke up in the morning feeling super bloated and my face had swollen up from the food. I’m not sure what is in their sushi now but they are no longer getting my business. I am going to look for another sushi spot from now on and you should to.
I Loved everything about this place, it us a little small but intimate with a nice layout and modern decor. We came in 45 minutes before close but the service and food was amazing. My favorite place to get sushi in Citrus Heights.
We as family visit this place rather often and my overall experience always has been pocitive but as you know one bad visit spoils any future visits, I placed a pickup order on Friday night and was quoted 45min till food would be ready but when i arrived to pick it up i had to wait another half hour for it, with that said it too way to long to complete my order how ever in general I am satisfied with food, service, and atmosphere in restaurant.
The rolls here are very good with the sushi to rice ratio on point. Never too much sauce and the rice is always fresh just like the fish! My only complaint is the service is a bit slow but, the food and prices are well worth it.

Ive had this spot on my saved to go lists for a while. So happy I finally went... went on a Saturday when they first opened. Not busy, staff was very friendly and attentive! Fish was so fresh! And I do like the sake bombs, spicy edamane! Will go back!
Loved the sushi except the staff service. The staff seemed so rude, this happened last two times when we been there, especially a tall white girl with long coloured hair, she was rude when taking the orders. So what, no tips given!!
My to go order Just about 2 hours to be ready it did say 60 minutes to 70. When looking on the app but instead I choose to phone in my order.. I was told to be ready in about 30 minutes or so. But like I said it took just about 2 hours which I was OK with at about an about an hour but the 2nd hour really pushed it seeing I was trying to feed my kids and it was getting late there was no sauce on top of any of the rolls that I ordered which had sauce on them in the picture that is but besides that the overall flavor was good and the edimama Was screaming delicious.

I would give an O out of 5 stars if that were an option. Staff is significantly prejudiced! The first time I went there with my mother, we received a menu and ordered drinks and an appetizer. Our waitress never came back to take the rest of our order. We still had our menu, and we were waiting approximately 15 minutes. Another couple walks in after us; not only are they waited on with extreme courtesy from the staff, but they receive complimentary miso soup without even ordering anything. Then the waitress goes to them, asks to take their order, and does not even bother to give us a second glance. We tell them to cancel our appetizer and proceed to walk out of the restaurant. Save yourself a trip and go somewhere else.
Absolutely love this place! Great sushi for a great price! The staff has never messed up our take out order, ever. They are always super friendly. Ive never had a bad piece of fish here. Restaurant and bathrooms are always really clean. I just cant say enough how much we love this restaurant

This used to be my favorite sushi restaurant. So sad to see them change the portions and raise the prices. The amount of meat they put on each roll has drastically been reduced. If you raise the price due to inflation at least keep your meat portions the same. Also they must have added msg to their food. I never felt so drowsy and bloated after eating sushi in my life.
This is a good basic sushi restaurant. They dont have exotic raw fishes but they have a good selection of the normal go to fish. The food menu is extensive. The atmosphere is casual and on the more modern and trendy side with top 40 music playing quietly. Ive seen people eat here in shorts or in sundresses. They do have a patio that sits in the shade. The service is efficient.The quality of the fish has always been excellent every time weve visited. My husband loves their sushi rolls and always wants to go to this restaurant because they have the best rolls. They have TVs with sports on but they are playing on mute. They have a sushi bar but it does not look like they have people sitting there anymore, probably because of Covid. The place is clean and very pleasant.Their miso soup is basic, nothing special. Their salads are excellent. They are made with fresh, crispy iceberg lettuce and some shaved carrots but its the salad dressing thats the star. Im not sure if they make it homemade but it sure taste like it. They also have a salmon appetizer that comes on a Himalayan salt rock sprinkled with olive oil and chili threads. It is absolutely delicious and worth the price.Our last time at the restaurant we had two salads, two bowls of miso soup, the salmon on the Himalayan rock, three beers, one large hot sake (no full bar) and two rolls and our tab was $92 with a generous tip. Sometimes we go and have sodas and dont get soups and split 1 salad and the tab is around $45 plus tip.
Update: TRY THE SAVAGE ROLL. And the zuki roll+ miso soup. every time I eat here, it is fantastic. I keep trying new things and have always enjoyed my meal. This woman is amazing. We have been coming here for maybe 3 or 4 years now. Ella is an amazing and hard worker.Great customer service, and great sushi.

Weve tried a lot of local sushi but now that we found Mizuki were hooked. The freshest fish, original and delicious rolls, great chefs, classy interior, and excellent service.Update: 3 years later, after trying sushi in 15-20 cities around the west and north of the country we prefer Mizuki over every other. The White Dragon is one of the best rolls Ive ever had. Our other favorites include the Sexy You (a cucumber wrapped roll), BBQ albacore, Zuki, Freaky Friday, and the Dallas roll is especially rich. Ella has managed this place into a well oiled machine. Great service and meticulous presentation.

We absolutely love Mizuki. Its become our new go-to sushi place. The food is good, always fresh and full of flavor. The servers are friendly and efficient. I recommend: Pepper fin, Taste of Himalayan, and ANY of their rolls (never had one I havent liked). My husband will recommend the Pepper Fin, Sake Nigiri and the Pan Fried Gyoza. Cant go wrong here, highly recommend!

I work food service and let me tell you how floored I was by the service. The waitress took our table (roughly 8 people), and took the whole order without taking any notes. We got the food, AND EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT. I need to figure out how she did that. Food was also extremely tasty. Im looking forward to when I get to visit again!!!

So update...i have always loved Mizuki but it feels like they are either in a hurry or maybe the staff/chefs has changed. The rolls i generally get have been getting inconsistent. They have forgotten to put certain things on it, one time i got a sauce that tasted like cheese, and in one instance they torched my roll...that is not a torched roll.its disappointing. I have to ask for wasabi quite often where it used to just come with any roll. I hope they get it together as Id like to stay as a customer but when you are looking forward to great sushi and your not sure what you are going to get its a bummer.
We found this place during quarantine & it has quickly become our favorite spot! When we say do you want sushi? THIS is what we mean. Neither of us even have to ask. Their pepperfin is amazing *and* they package it perfectly to-go so nothing gets too soggy! The only thing I dont like is their parking lot but that isnt *their* fault!

Sushi is alright but make sure to ask for spicy mayo and unagi sauce prior to paying.. they wanted to charge me 25 cents for each which is fine except for the fact that i didnt have any cash on me and the woman wasnt able to charge my card for less than $5 she said. I wont be returning.
1/2 price rolls, and the best sushi in the Sacramento area. The owner is always there and remembers your entire tables order without writing it down, she never makes a mistake. They even made a tiered birthday cake out of sushi for my friends birthday. If you love sushi this is the only place you need to visit.
Dont believe pics. Servings are about half what you see. Taste so so. I ordered take out but had to wait 15 minutes. Cost/quality ratio very low. Too many good sushi placeselsewhere.

This is one of the best sushi places Ive eaten. Being pre-diabetic I cant eat much white rice so I do sushi sparingly.The spicy garlic examine is a must have.All of the fried rolls are fantastic. I dont do raw fish, so youll have to check another review for that.

Food is just as great as it always has been. The prices are fair but the food is fantastic. Easy safe pickup with nobody allowed inside other than the small paying cubical in the front entrance. Call ahead maybe 20-25 mins and your order will be ready soon when you arrive. Stay killing it Mizuki!
Service is always quick and friendly, the atmosphere is calming to be in (spacious and not hectic). Would highly recommend the basil roll! Great for date nights as well. They offer lunch specials with half off prices on rolls.

Placed a take out order and didnt receive all the items I order. I call the restaurant, and they told me that I can and pick up my missing item. I asked for a refund instead since I didnt want to make the drive. They told me they couldnt process my refund over the phone and that I would need to go into the store. Thats bad business. Unfortunately, we are never ordering from this restaurant again.
I have dined here at least 10 times and ordered take out another 5 in the last year or so. The food is good and the wait staff very nice and cordial. However, on this last trip, I was dismayed to see the owner and her family inside the store sitting at a table in close proximity with others and NOT wearing masks. They were constantly near the food areas and when I asked the server why they are doing this, she replied that the owner just doesnt wear one but had no idea why not. My sister got Covid from a person like this and she was wearing a mask. I am very disappointed at the irresponsibility the owner showed for both her staff and her customers. I will not be dining there anymore.

This place has amazing sushi. We had our normal sushi place for many years and decided on going here, and now Mizuki is our goto place for sushi. Also, the parking lots is way too small for all the restaurants in this area, so plan ahead.

Great food. The wait for pick up is a little annoying (you have to wait outside), and its worse now that theyre opening up dine-in, so you have to wait behind groups of people who want a table. If they had a way for faster pickup, that would be nice.
This was the first time I have ever been there. My wife and I really like it a lot. We agreed that this is one of the best Sushi Restaurants we have ever been to. The palace was very clean and the staff was so nice. They were very fast bringing us are food. The food was very fresh and tasted very good. That is way I would recommend this restaurant to any one who likes 🍣 Sushi or anyone who likes good food. I give them five stars 🌟🌟 🌟🌟 🌟.....
Can’t speak to the quality of the sushi but I can definitely say we didn’t stay - each roll was priced between 18 - 30! Paying that much for one roll is ludicrous

Great little sushi joint. The inside feels nice and modern, but Im afraid it would be pretty loud on a busy night. My daughters and I decided to try it out on a Sunday night. It wasnt very busy and service was quick and courteous. I ordered an oyster shooter. It was good, but it was served hot and Ive never had one served like that. The quail egg yolk at the bottom was popped, too. Everything else was awesome, though. Between the 3 of us, we ordered the 6pc BBQed Albacore; half red sauce, half white sauce. Both were great. We proceeded to order 5 rolls; a Giant, a Rock n Roll, a Chinggus, a Philly, and a Tuna Lover. All of the rolls were awesome and all the ingredients tasted fresh.The bill was amazingly reasonable considering how much food we ordered. Well definitely be returning.

This sushi place might not have the most delicious food there is, but its very good and high quality as well as being lower priced than most of the fast food places. It is also beautiful inside and the place its located in is safe and full of civilized people. I definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting to try out sushi and simply have a good time as well as eat some delicious new food.
Love this place! I moved here from Colorado & my brother told me I ust had to try this place! Been in love ever since!!!! One of my very favorites is the CITRUS! I have a few other favorites (Tempura Deluxe), but always have to include my CITRUS! Another delicious item is the BURRITO. Everyone in my family loves it!!! Its not on the menu, but worth asking your waitress. See if it sounds like something worth trying! Yum! I gave this 5 stars because --- not only is it very affordable (lots of 50% off items --- but the staff is wonderful, food is fantastic & very clean and comfortable dining atmosphere, as well as take-out!!!!

This is is my go to place for good sushi.I understand that 50% off sushi is just a marketing tactic, but I am still surprised of how cheap they sell good sushi. Average roll price here is $8, and thats significantly lower than most other sushi places around town.All this, and their menu seems to be put together professionally, and the lighting is low, so it makes a good date night spot.My favorite. Hands down.
Would be 5 stars if I didnt have to wait past the quoted time everytime. Same excuse that they want it fresh as possible. They need to take online payments and have it ready when guests arrive. Poor service in that regards to stand out in the cold for 20-30 minutes after you pay.
We were looking for a good Japanese Place to eat for a good Hamachi Kama and Sushis and we’re so glad we came to this place by checking the reviews. The service was great and fast, place is clean and the food were so good and amazingly so fresh. The price of the safe food my wife and I would eat here in the South Bay would be twice their prices. So inexpensive yet so good. Hey! your tuna in your hand rolls are too filling. They’re so big. Thanks a lot.
Rolls are half off, yet theyre always half off which is a little weird. Im not complaining about the prices though, pretty good. I had a kikko roll which was yum.
Every time we come to this place, it’s always a pleasure. The customer service is amazing and the sushi is always fresh and delicious. The only downside nowadays is their hours are limited due to coronavirus.
This was my children’s favorite place. I took them there for dinner due to them having great progress reports. They got food poisoning and were sick all weekend. I ended up having to spend hours at Kaiser due to vomiting and dehydration. I really hope that they read this and get their stuff in order.
Service was slow and not pleasant. Sashimi was poor quality, tried one piece and sent it back. Waitress had an attitude when we informed her that fish did not taste good. I would have given zero stars if that was an option. I would not recommend this sushi bar.
Bit of a wait but a pretty good experience overall. I got the 2 entree bento box (thai chicken and chicken katsu) damn good. My wife had the miso soup and it was good, didnt taste like seaweed which was nice.

🔥 Fire sushi! We sat at the bar, which wasnt ideal, but they made it awesome. We started with mixed tempura, followed by a few rolls and a Bento Box. Everything was delicious! My favorite was the Savage Roll. Something about that seared top... 😍 Highly recommended. Price was decent also. Go there and eat lots of sushi!
Favorite 🍣 spot in the Sacramento area. A little out of the way from 80, but completely worth it. Quality fish, good price, friendly staff. Highly recommended for lunch or dinner. Try the spicy edamame.

We have visited most of the sushi restaurants in the area and always come back to Mizuku Sushi, sometimes multiple times a week. The fish is always very fresh and they have great prices. I also really enjoy the decor, very relaxing environment.
My first time eating Sushi in this place, and was very good, after I ate the sushi, I had a very nice sensation, Yummy!!! I will try soon again. This place is open a 4pm for the pandemic. GO AND TRY, YOU WILL BE HAPPY 😁
They had awesome service. My girlfriend and I had a saki bomb, with the stuffed mushrooms and edamame, for an appetizer. They got the timing right. Then we ordered 2 rolls and fried shrimp head for me. (My girlfriend isnt into it, but if you like fried shrimp heads and raw shrimp tail. They do it up right.
It is a half empty restaurant, yet the hostess (the brunette) refused to sit me at the table of my choosing.My eaitress has never come to check on me, so I left without trying my favorite dish.
One of the best sushi places ever. Hit or miss with waiters but sushi rolls are great. Fish always fresh. Been going to this place since opening. Mikuni quality sushi for half the price. Very modern and clean environment. Good location
Cheap sushi, dont expect the best quality. If your a shushi fantastic i would not recommend;however, for the everyday eater its a good place to start. The prices are extremely low, so am not surpised the quality being a lower. Nice ambient, staff is decent, and food is good for the low prices. Would not recommend for an experienced shushi eater but for the common individual is a good place to consider.
Best Sushi Restaurant I have ever been to! All the fish is always fresh and I have never had as much consistency with food as I have had here!! Again, love this place and I would highly recommend!
I visit this place a lot since I work nearby. I must say their customer service is always fantastic and they keep the place clean consistently. Prices are affordable and they serve sizeable portions.
The sushi rolls we got were absolutely delicious and fresh! Theyre priced very well, and the order was made quick with no wait (call in order for takeout).

Hands down my favorite sushi! If you like spicy, youve got to try the white dragon! They torch the top, and the way it blends the sauce and caramelizes the thin jalapeño slice on top. Addicting! Second favorite is Citrus and I add cilantro. Yum! Fish is fresh. Owners are awesome and very personable! We spend way too much money here, lol.

We did take out and it was okay. Our order was ready on time and accurate, but I was not impressed with the food. I will have to dine in and hopefully be able to write a better reviews.
Idk if they used old rice or dont do sushi rice but it wasnt one of our favorite sushi places. Its also possible we just ordered the wrong rolls. We did like the lions roll.

No real accommodation for gluten free. THEY DONT EVEN HAVE TAMARI!I would recommend just switching from soy sauce to TAMARI in all your sauces and other preparations. Besides not having gluten it tastes better.

First went to the one in roseville. COMPLETELY different experience. The other location was WAY better. Really disappointed with this satellite location. Small and underwhelming in every way. Decent enough tho so 3 stars

Personally, this is my favorite sushi place. The sushi is half off, its delicious, its filling, and the service is great. Rush hour can be a bit hectic, but the food is definitely worth the wait.
It was o.k. not the best Ive had. The music over the sound system was terrible. Traditional Japanese music wouldve been better then the 80s wannabe techno garbage. I may give the place another try if they change their music.

Now that we have, we know what we like and how to order so it doesnt cost too much. They have a great half priced roll selection. Check it out. They do get busy later in the evening, which is counter to most restaurants.We recommend

I used to be a local and I moved away from the general area but recently brought my son for his 16th bday.I think they sold the restaurant. Blaring EDM/ dance music from a bad speaker and cold hostess/reception area. Which is a 180 from what I’m used to with this restaurant.First complaint is the server was terrible. After being seated and waiting over 15 mins, in a seemingly empty restaurant, a girl comes to our table and asks if we’re ready to order. She literally said “are you ready to order?” - no “hey how are you”, no “hi”, nothing.We order and they brought someone’s meal 15-20 mins before bringing the rest of the tables food. Really awkward and bad time management.The sushi’s rolls were garbage, truly inedible. The quality has gone down significantly and it’s so sad.Second - they charged me $28 for 2 draft Sapporo’s and their menu says $7…..0/10 never going back and it breaks my heart bc it’s so hard to find a good sushi place out here.

2022-02-08 02:38:25We came to this Sushi place for lunch because were visiting family members who are living in the Sacramento area. Im definitely surprised to how many Sushi places they have here. There are at least three to four Sushi Restaurants in every corner! They are all over! Since we not really familiar with the area we stopped by this Mizuki Sushi restaurant due to it happened to be the closest one to us at the time and the fact that we love eating Sushi.The Services here are great, the waiters were friendly, helpful, and most importantly the food here is fresh and delicious! I definitely enjoyed my Sashimi bowl and the Spiderman Roll. Prices are also great.We had a great experience here!

They have, hands down, the BEST spicy edamame, every roll is made to perfection, and I cant wait to go back every time I leave. The owner is an absolute sweetheart and the staff are all lovely as well. 10/10 recommend ♥️

My server Michael was super friendly and nice, my pomegranate Paloma was yummy, and my Pimped Out roll was great. I would definitely return. Lots of variety of rolls on the menu too so you’ll never get bored.

Their music is censor-free, raw curse word music, so not a very professional thing to do considering how many families eat with their young kids inside the restaraunt and in the background there is 21+ music playing with curse words, management needs to fix that. Im not trying to be a karen, just looking out for the kids who dont have to be exposed to that atmosphere. Now onto the food. Its good sushi, tasty and yummy, nothing too special or crazy. Staff is nice and helpful so thats a plus.
