I hate to ride a wonderful review for this place as it is our favorite to eat breakfast or lunch. Hope it doesnt get too crowded so we cant go. Best Mexican food in the county and wonderful comfort food. The family that owns it is a delight to be among.

My family has been coming here since I was a kid. Warm memories of early Saturday mornings with 3 generations gathering around to enjoy some of the best breakfast we’ve ever had. After all of these years, we still continue to have family breakfast here. Staff has been consistent and some have known us since we first started dining here. I am so grateful for this establishment and highly recommend it. Thank you Mollie’s for all of the memories, full bellies, and amazing atmosphere.

Amazing service. Water and coffee refills were asked about often. The food came out fast!The Carne Asada and eggs were good, but the flour tortillas served with them were very dry and crumbly.

Passing thru town and I saw this spot and decided it was for me. Was craving chile verde for some reason so I got an omelet. Stefan was my server and was super chill. The place had a nice atmosphere and lots of regulars. It wasnt the best chile Ive ever had, but it hit the spot. Stefan brought out some salsa, so I had to get some chips. The salsa was bomb. Had just enough heat to make you want more. Overall good grub 👍

Ive been coming here for years and I love it. For work, Ive been traveling a lot more. have not been for maybe two years. decided to give it another shot while on vacation. Food and service are still excellent. The fact that the personnel still recognized me after all this time improved my day. Will most certainly return.

Visited this original location for the first time in early April 2019. I selected the Vegetarian Omelette, which comes with two sides. I selected Sourdough toast & sliced fruit. I had a cup of coffee. The Omelette was good sized (3 egg) and tasted pretty good. The server was attentive. The bill total with tax and tip was just over $20.

Probably the best breakfast Ive had anywhere in south OC. Had the green huevos rancheros. Basically chilli Verde & Eggs. Absolutely Outstanding!Just had the Green Huevos Rancheros 4/28/23. Absolutely fantastic. The tender pork and excellent sauce make this a must try

Sonora was delicious. Potatoes (extra crispy requested) were a great compliment to the Sonora eggs, meat and vegetables. Sour cream and guacamole were fresh and the salsa was medium spicy - perfect. Excellent food at a premium price for what you get.

EXCELENT FOOD, also great lunch specials. Today I had a very generous slab of grilled salmon with a lovely garden salad on the side and vegetables, just $13. I cant buy the same size salmon for less in the grocery. Also, generous portions, I can only eat half of the meal, the rest is bagged up for tomorrows lunch. Breakfast here is a treat any day. My Mom and I call Mollies, Home of the big food. Lol, it is and the staff are always friendly and helpful. My only annoyance is, I wish they would paint their sign out front that just says, Mollies. ts red, but is so faded and dirty looking it is hardly readable. Sadly, it also gives this lovely cafe a poor and uncaring look that doesnt inspire, Welcome. Luckily, all their regulars keep coming back to support them. Maybe one of them has a pint of red paint and a brush.

Hey this is mom and pops place to eat great food especially breakfast with great service but you dont go here fir the atmosphere!!! If you go on the weekends in the morning be prepared to wait about 15 to 20 minutes but the food is worth the wait!!!!

Great home style breakfast. Located right on the edge between aliso viejo and laguna niguel. It’s hard to find this place by driving by on the road so make sure you get the address right. This place is full of people for breakfast but they don’t take reservations. Best to come as early as possible to avoid the wait. Portions are huge and the selection is massive.

Great food I had breakfast there I have to just sit outside cuz I like eating my breakfast outside and every two minutes I was having waitresses and waiters come ask me if I was okay I made me feel really uncomfortable like I was being shady or something along those lines I still have to tip though but I asked them to give it to the cook

I have been going to Mollies for 33 years now and still look forward to every visit. Both their American and Mexican food menu items are fantastic. The country breakfasts are hearty and delicious. I highly recommend the Pork Tenderloin and Eggs Breakfast. (Get it with the biscuit and gravy instead of toast.) Their waffles and pancakes are wonderful. Their Huevos Rancheros is awesome. Ive ever had a bad lunch or dinner there either.Family-owned by very nice folks who bust their buns to give excellent food and service.

I’ve always loved Mollies so I hate to leave such a terrible review however, we came in and were seated immediately. it took 25-30 minutes for anyone to greet us at the table and ask if we would like drinks. Mind you other people came in after us and had gotten drinks ordered and even their food. We were excited for good breakfast food it was all terrible. I don’t know what happened if there’s a new cook or what, it was disgusting. The meat was low quality, gravy was thick and pasty and cornmealish, uh the country fried steak tasted like old grease, and mind you was terribly fried, there really isn’t a better word other than terrible. We will not be going back. The meal was $72 for 4 people (without tip) not worth it at all.

Such amazingly fresh food!! My husband and I visited on an early Sunday morning. There was no waiting. The food is delicious. They have excellent salsa. The staff is very attentive and brings around fresh coffee. I was able to substitute the potatoes for fruit. Both my meal and husbands meals were great. We would definitely be back and recommend.

I order the Huevos Rancheros for take out. I was so yummy! The food is not too oily like most restaurants. They packaged the food so precessional. They put each side it’s own container and gave me forks, knives and spoons. Most restaurants have been stubborn with giving things out. They were super friendly and patient with me as well as I was ordering since it was my first time.

I have gone to Mollies on La Paz for breakfast for several years.. And I have brought my family (5 to 6 people) there every Sunday.. And just 2 of us on some week days .. the service and the food has been GREAT .. HOWEVER this morning we found out that our favorite waitress whom has worked there for 20 years was FIRED with 2 days notice by the new management.. This is not legal to do with such short notice after she gave you her best for such a long time !!! Wow what a happy New Years present Mollies gave their long time employee !!!SO, Mollies can kiss me and my family GOODBYE for we will no longer have breakfast at this Mollies or for that matter any Mollies cafe... I hope the other employees will take note of this as it shows how much your life means to the management of Mollies !!! YOU could be next !!!!Robert

This is a tough one to write since the food and portions are good and I will probably end up going back there again, eventually.They know their food is good as theyve been around for some time. The service, hmm!!??, depends who you get. I think the fact is, the comfort and confidence they get from having a good food in a area where there are not that many good breakfast restaurants has impacted their behavior and attitude towards the customers.The almost callous attitude when large mistakes are made and being insensitive to the inconvenience it has caused the customer, was my last two visits experiences.I will try this place one more time and will add to this review the result of that.Its a shame, the food is good.FYI- we ended up eating a COLD $54 breakfast after all the mistakes were fixed and settled, not the best Sunday breakfast 😢

Our favorite breakfast place. The decor is old fashion country, but not totally off putting. Service generally is 100% spot on. Can get really busy, so there could be a wait. It is worth the wait. The menu is varied, American Mexican. One of my favorites is the breakfast enchilada. Everything we have ordered was very good.

First let me say, I adore Mollie’s. I’ve been coming here for years. And I love family run local joints. Having said that, let me say my last experience was not good. And it was ALL about the bacon. If you can’t get the bacon right, don’t open for breakfast. If that bacon was a jet, it would’ve blown all tires on takeoff. If it was a … well, you get the picture. I’m not a chef but I think the bacon must’ve been fried in peanut oil or something. I recognized the cheap oily taste but can’t out my finger on it. But it doesn’t matter how they screwed it up. Let me say this, bacon does Not need your help. Put it on the skillet; go watch the toast; read a few headlines; come back and eat. If you are cooking bacon with anything that even remotely alters the taste, you must be punished.

This is a family-owned diner that has been around FOREVER. The fact it has survived this long speaks to its quality. The food is great and the people are sweet and dedicated. There are some small mistakes here and there when they get swamped but you can tell they are always doing their best. Ive been coming here since I was a kid and I hope to bring my kids here one day!

Was really looking forward to checking this place out for the first time. There are so many people there whenever I drive past. We ordered four different dishes just to get a good sampling of how the food was prepared. The service was good. The staff was friendly. The dining room was really cramped. We were asked to share a booth that had a split table with another couple people. It felt a little awkward as we could hear every word of their conversation. So the food... All four of our dishes were fully cooked and looked great. However... Every dish was really lacking in flavor. The quality of the ingredients made it feel more like fast food rather than an authentic country kitchen. We might give it a go again in a year or two.

If youre looking for a view or luxury..this isnt it. What you WILL find at Mollies is delicious food, with caring and attentive service. All servers wear masks, disposable paper menus. Delicious and generous portions mimosas. The waiter with blue tinted hair is an absolute GEM! The Latina server... one of the best personalities. The young helper/bus boy... highly attentive. I highly recommend stopping by and eating outside. This is socal...the weather is divine. For pricing I would say they are mid range. We paid $50 for 2 people for brunch. Order included a whole carafe of mimosas, club sandwich and amazing customized breakfast burger. Its definitely fair pricing for the service we received. Go...enjoy.

Another Covid 19 change today. The restaurant is no longer serving people indoors but do have a few tables set up outside. We went in to grab breakfast to go and were happy with the results. The staff took care to prepare everything so that it would be great for us. For instance, they put whipped cream on the side so the waffles wouldnt get soggy. They included salsa without us having to ask, and the bags were sealed in the kitchen with tamper evident stickers. They are definitely getting to go orders right at Mollies so give them a call. This place is wonderful. The service is quick and you get your food in a timely manner. If you order coffee, the server with pot comes around frequently but doesnt automatically start pouring like some restaurants.The food is delicious and filling. I love eggs benedict but their BA Eggs Benedict was a revelation. Whoever came up with the idea of putting bacon and avocado on eggs benedict is a genius.

While visiting family in Laguna Hills they took me to the hole in the wall for dinner. As we walked in I saw they had Liver and Onions with Bacon as a special. Liver and Onions is my favorite meal. I ordered it. The meal was one of the best I ever had. The liver was cooked perfectly and it was delicious. This will become a must stop for me Everytime Im in town. 4.6 Is good for 442 reviews, but my experience is nothing less than 5.0 You cannot expect perfection every single time you go out to eat. The breakfast here is not always perfect, but its still better than anywhere else even on its worst day. Ive been everywhere, Teds, Plumeria, Pauls, Corkies, Snooty Fox, RJs, Harbor House, The Penguin Cafe, The Brig, Mollies in San Juan.. And so many others, but I always find myself right back here at Mollies Laguna Niguel.. Job well done everyone!!

As soon as you walk into this place it feels like youve come to a Midwest diner. I like the casual attire of the employees and the mellow atmosphere and everyone is super nice without it feeling forced. We have been here once before and it was ok enough for us to come back today. However, today was not a good experience. I ordered the llevos rancheros and they were terrible. The were a sloppy mess with globs upon globs of green sauce that tasted like it was a bit old and out of a can. The coffee is also not good. Its weak and tastes like water. Honestly, I dont think we will be back.

The best huevos rancheros I have ever had. Anywhere. Mollies is a wonderful family-owned restaurant with a line out the door on weekends. Well worth the wait. They are also open for dinner ( usually no crowds) and its ideal for a home -cooked dinner with a peaceful atmosphere. I like the Mexican food, meatloaf, soups and club sandwich. Ive been going here regularly for 20 years and have never been disappointed.

We love Mollies! Their ommelets are big and fluffy and filled with ingredients. The orange juice is Fresh squeezed. Their ham is the whole size of the plate! Even if theres a wait, its usually pretty short but worth the wait. I almost always have left overs too. Parking is a little limited but doable. We go at least once a week!

New York steak (tender and juicy), 2 eggs, home fries with onions and peppers, and rye toast, ($11).I also had coffee and a large tomato juice for an extra charge.Mollies is a traditional family restaurant, friendly, fast service, generous portions of food, and always fun.The menu is divided about equally between Mexican style and American style. The owners really ought to spend a few dollars to maintain the interior. It looked terrible. Seat cushions in the booths frayed, the tables in the restaurant were rickety. Stains in the wallpaper and ceiling. They really ought to sweep the floors every now and then. Put some type of door up some you dont have to look at dirty dishes and kitchen shelves while eating. My food wasnt anything special. There are not a lot of diner type restaurants in the area, they could do a lot more business by getting their act together.
