Had a chance to visit this little gem of a restaurant a couple of days ago. A cozy little atmosphere filled with inviting decor.Food was just too good!!!. Worth every single cent.Dont forget to order Beef thukpa(noodle), a delicacy to fall in love with. And service... just the best!Will definitely pay a visit next time Im around.

I am convinced that the food served at this restaurant tastes more like home cooked meal. BeefJhol momo, was my favourite food among the many other dishes that I had tried here. The owner has lovely personality and she just treats me like a family every time I visit the place. I would highly recommend anyone around Berkeley to visit the restaurant for quality food.

It is a cute little place with a good number of crowd even during their closing time. We ordered chicken jhol momo, veg jhol momo, paneer chilli and chicken chowmein. Everything was very tasty. Jhol was very authentic in taste. Loved the chowmein too!I also want to share a very sweet gesture of the owner. We had a very good conversation while in the restaurant. And after knowing that it’s one of our friend’s birthday, she also gave us complimentary mango lassi. I will definitely love to go to this place again next time I am in Berkeley.

Modern Indian food. AMAZING. The food is out of this world. A hidden unassuming gem of the bay area. Rich flavors. Tucked away deep by the University of California Berkeley. I dont think the students realize the gravity of the people who cook this caliber of food in this outta the way restuarant. Great food. Great people.Somebody said they can never eat butter chicken any where else again- I completely AGREE.

This place is delicious!! The lady that works here is very nice and sweet, very welcoming. We ordered the pork chili and dahi chicken. Too full to order momos but they looked great too. (Peeped the other tables) Thoroughly enjoyed it !

We just left a bit ago, after an absolutely delicious dinner. The food is simply stunning; the wonderful lady who served us was knowledgeable and sweet; and the atmosphere was quiet, clean, and charming. Absolutely recommend to anyone in the area. A fantastic food experience!!!

A tiny place tucked away into a somewhat forgotten food court on the North side of campus, Momos is a gem. Not sure how I have never been here but I was craving some dumplings and spice. The prices are a little high (would happily take a half size for lunch especially if I was on a student budget) but the portions are decent and the staff are really the star of the show. The owners are so lovely.

Hands down the best momos in the Bay Area. Tried their Shyabhale and pork chilli as well, both exceptional. Perfect downtown location close to the campus and quick service as well. My friend had butter chicken and she literally went again for lunch the next day. Cant wait to try more dishes from here, highly recommended.

This is THE best chili paneer I’ve had anywhere outside of India. I don’t say that lightly. I highly highly recommend this place and I’m mostly disappointed I didn’t try it earlier. The momos here are awesome too, and the staff is super cute and friendly.

A nice little shop serving up juicy momos and other typical Nepali dishes (i.e. chili chicken, chili paneer, chow meins, samosas, etc). My only suggestion would be for a bit more spice in the jhol broth. Otherwise, a great place near UC Berkeley with super friendly staff.

Every-time I’m in Momo Masalas, i can always count on eating a good meal with a warm welcome on the side. My personal favorite is the beef jhol momo but I’ve never gone wrong with other items on the menu. If I could rate a store 6/5, I’d say that is not even enough. Highly recommend!!

The Samosa Chaat is sooooo good. The food here is fresh and delicious, and cheap for the area. The menu is limited, but its all great. If you order a naan wrap, watch them roll out the dough and cook it in front of you. Highly recommended!

Momo Masalas is my favorite restaurant, period. We come here every single week and have been doing so for several years. The food is amazing and so is the service. I would specifically recommend any of the Himalayan items such as the momo or the chicken/paneer/pork chilli. We also love the biryani, the chole bhature, and all of the Indian style curries. They also are very creative with vegetarian/vegan options such as the Impossible Momo.

Easily the best spot for Indian and Nepalese food in Berkeley. The owners and staff are the sweetest people ever and this place feels like a second home to me after all the late nights where I’d come here for dinner after my electrical engineering lab. I highly recommend the paneer chili and the pork ribs masala, but you really can’t go wrong with any of the items on the menu!

The portions are quite small. The momos taste like Southern Chinese steamed Jiaozi with a thicker skin. Very little flavor. The taste is not horrible and I would come back if the portions were larger. This wouldnt fill up a 5 year old.

This is one of the best restaurants in Berkeley! I had to organize a party and ordered catering for 18 people. The food was the highlight of the evening! I was expecting there to be some leftover but absolutely nothing was left. People loved it and got seconds and thirds!! Highly recommend this restaurant if you want a delicious and authentic experience of the Himalayan dishes!P.S. their chicken chilly is an absolute banger!!

I eat here regularly and love the food.I strongly recommend ordering what seems interesting, and being curious to everything. There are increasingly many momo vendors in Berkeley -- but the core experience of Momo Masalas is in its freshness and rigorous authenticity to cuisine. Each dish, especially the non-momo menu is generous and richly flavored in a way that rewards the imagination and builds desire to every bite. Come here with hours to spare, and leisurely pace yourself through the experience.

I came here a week ago and ordered the chicken biryani- absolutely delicious, so savory and flavorful. MoMo Masalas is now one of my favorite eateries in Berkeley and I plan to bring friends here in the future. Also, the owner was so polite and sweet! Seriously though, the food was so good that now, a week later, I was thinking about it and felt inclined to leave a review. Note: call ahead, like 15 min before, and the food will be ready to go when youre there! I didnt know some dishes took 15+ minutes, but calling in is very easy and worth it.

I googled Indian food near me and ended up going to this place. I arrived a little early because they opened at 5:00pm, although the app said they were open. The person at the establishment told me the restaurant opened at 5:00pm. I went back to my car to wait for the restaurant to open. I had a twenty minute wait. I then went back to the restaurant and was seated. I sat for 30 minutes before the lady I initially spoke with when I first arrived informed me that I had to pay first. There were two other patrons in the restaurant. I paid and added a 15% tip. I always tip. I received my food and it was garbage. I tried to ignore the obvious signs and bad customer service but when I left I said thank you to the employee loud enough for her to hear me. The lady ignored me and didn’t say a word. When the other customers finished dining she was all teeth and waving bye bye bye. I shouldn’t have eaten at this place I don’t know what they may have put in my food. I’m a black man so I’m used to discrimination and racism but I haven’t experienced it in a long time. It was surprising. # Not a good experience.

Amazing Food! I have been coming here for almost five months now. The hospitality and service are one of the best you can get in Berkeley. My personal favourite is the chicken momos. Ive been a regular at Momo Masala for 3 years now, and I can say with absolute confidence this restaurant has carried me through university. While the Momos and samosas are amazing, what keeps me coming back is the simple home style Indian food, the rice, dahl, chole and chicken curry. As an international student I spent a long time looking for decent Indian food in Berkeley before I finally settled on this place. I am so confused because I was so hyped to try this place after reading the reviews but the food I ordered was probably the worst food Ive tried. I ordered paneer tikka masala and it had a weird pinkish color to it. I have had so much paneer tikka masala in my life and I have never had something so downright bad. I also ordered the veg chowmein and while it smelled good, the taste was painfully bland. I asked for both items to be extra spicy and what I got was 2 items that made me question if they had been seasoned at all given how bland they were. Again, I am so confused because all the reviews were raving. Rarely do I wish I hadnt ordered take out but this is one of those times where I feel like I absolutely wasted $32.

I chipped a tooth on the chicken. I assumed that all their chicken was boneless and took a nice solid bite in to a chicken bone. It was some sort of fried and battered chicken menu option (not a samosa, but something else). In general the food was somewhere between warm and cold. If you get the lunch special, make sure to get it when the food gets put out. Going at 1pm means the food has been out too long and has gotten cold. Unfortunately I now have to schedule a visit with my dentist.

Delicious tasty Momos, (Chewy larger dumplings with chicken and Nepalese spices), the best Lamb Curry in the East Bay, along with other NEPALESE delights, which sometimes confuse Westerners who often mistake both Nepalese and Tibetan food for Indian food.
