Food was good, a bit pricey but good service too. I would like to see an optional menu with pictures of the food. Thanks to all those that posted pictures as those helped my daughter with making her selection. I had the shrimp special which was full of flavor. Will be going back to try something off the regular menu. If its your first time, let the staff know for you might get a dessert at the end of your meal on the house

It was my first time here for my first girls night out, it been awhile and we all craving Italian food, and our friend found this restaurant through yelp, our waitress Justine went above and beyond, answering all our questions about the food and also recommending some of her favorites entrees, we all enjoyed our food, plus were get a surprised tiramisu at the end of our meal. Thank you so much for an memorable memories. I will definitely come back next time.

Of youre expecting a top-notch and super-authentic Italian restaurant, well, this isnt one. But its a heckuva lot better than Olive Garden, Romano Maccaroni Grill, Maggianos and many other chain restaurants that will serve you unauthentic and bland pretend-Italian food. Prices are moderate, service is good, ambiance is OK, considering its located in a strip mall.

We dropped in for a dinner after a work trip from Seattle, and I cannot praise this establishment enough.Welcoming, and provided a great atmosphere for our wrap up to the day.The dishes were fresh, unique in adding a mystery nut to the dish, and accompanied my vegetarian Manager. All around, phenomenal service, elegant and tasteful for a drop in.

This is one of our favorite restaurants. Even better that its Italian. They have my favorite Italian Beer and my Wifes favorite Wine. Everything is fresh and prepared to order. Our Waiter is Tony and he does a great job taking care of us. The place just went through a remodeling or expansion which was a bonus. The young kitchen staff works together great and prepares the food to meet expectations.

Took food to go, so Im not sure if this was part of it, but one of our orders was wrong, and the chicken was dry. Maybe the food quality is way better when dining in. This was a miss for me, but not completely. Maybe I will give this another try someday.

This restaurant is a hidden gem in the Huntington beachs area. The food was delicious and my waitress was the lady with short hair. I dont remember her name, but she was very nice and friendly.Im sure Ill return and bring my husband here to experience the excellent food and service.

My boyfriend and I are not italian food fans, but this place changed our minds. Nothing compared to Olive Gardens or other italian food places. This place was DELICIOUS! You can see the chefs cooking it, and it tastes so freshly cooked. The portions are big and well worth what youre paying for. Everyone here was kind, and the atmosphere felt so relaxing. Our server had great recommendations for drinks AND food, and she made us feel very welcoming. We will definitely be coming here again, because this place is now my favorite restaurant.

I was in town this weekend, and my friend recommended we try this place. Im so glad we did, as the service was absolutely excellent, as was the food! We had:- Angel hair pasta with vodka sauce and chicken. I adjusted this a little bit as it usually comes with sausage & rigatoni, but they were so accommodating! The sauce and the pasta were so fresh, and just absolutely delicious. I highly recommend anything with this vodka sauce.- My friend got the wild salmon dish and she said it was to die for!- Cookie butter (or batter) cheesecake - the best cheesecake I have ever had in my life! They give a good-sized slice, and it took me three days to eat the whole thing!Theres a lot of parking, and I suggest you get there early enough as they dont take reservations and its a little bit small. But again, the service was so good and the food was amazing. I will be back next time in town!

AMAZING dining experience. The restaurant is very small but they make it work well. The food is delicious and tastes very clean and fresh with fair prices and generous portions. The best calamari Ive had in a restaurant. Perfectly cooked and soft with a great texture. Also the best tiramisu Ive ever had.The staff is very friendly and accommodating. My waitress, Michelle, was wonderful and sweet and told us about the restaurants history. Watching the chefs was a unique experience as well since the kitchen is visible from the bar seating. The chefs are all masters of what they do. They work like a machine and are extremely efficient working great with each other. Extremely impressive when you see how tiny their kitchen is and how skillfully they work inside it.One of the best restaurants Ive been to in the area with kind people working there and delicious food with fantastic presentation and atmosphere.

The restaurant expanded with outdoor seating, which practically doubled the capacity. Food is still as delicious as ever. Superb service with friendly staff. Tonight I had a little mixup with my delivery. When calling the restaurant, Nicole helped me resolve my issue. She was polite, courteous and not rushed being a Friday night. I could tell there was a lot happening in the restaurant. Her customer service was exceptional. 12.1.2021 - We have always drove by.. finally visited for the 1st time.I have to say.. food was excellent and pasta cook to perfection. Add to the surprise, a Tiamisu to end the meal.Suggestion.. Please only roll the service carpets only. Do not flick the carpet in such a small space.. with the dim lights, you can not see all the dirt and germs got airborne. Even worse is when customers sit only a few feet away seeing the flick of the carpet.Justine - thanks for the wonderful service.Still give a 5 star. I believe the error can be easily corrected and doesnt impact quality food and service.

Delicious pasta! I had the chicken gorgonzola pasta. The sauce was creamy and rich. Perfectly seasoned. The chicken marsala pasta was slighy sweeter, very savory, and the mushrooms stole the show. It was about $25 per plate, which was fair for the quality. The portion was very filling, but not enough for leftovers.Service was excellent. Our waiter brought us water and checked on us often. He even gave us a complimentary slice of tiramisu.

Man, the food here was fantastic. Jeanette was my waitress and she was phenomenal as well as the entire staff. It was my first time here and they made me feel at home. I came by myself on a Saturday night after Disneyland around 9ish Id say, sat at the bar. Got my food in a timely manner.The calamari was solid! Id definitely order it again but next time, Id probably just order the regular one without all the sauce. The main dish was amazing!!! I could smell it when they were walking out with it. This was our first visit back since the remodel and expansion and we were impressed. The new look works very well and the seating capacity has more than doubled. The menu has many of the old favorites and some new twists.Despite the increase in seating, the quality of the food was very good and the portions ample. We did not go home hungry! There are three seating options inside, regular, bar (new) and an expanded chefs counter. The staff were very good, welcoming and attentive with a good knowledge of the menu and the business. Definitely worth five stars.

Stumbled on this restaurant accidentally while on our way to a different Italian restaurant. Figured we would give it a try and so glad we did.The food was fantastic. We originally had a hard time deciding on a dish because it all looked good. But it was even harder of a decision when we heard the specials. We will be going back for sure to try all the things we wanted to try but didn’t.In addition to the amazing food, we had the most amazing waitress, Michelle. From Jeanette, our server, to Luigi, the chef, the staff was cordial, helpful, and efficient. The food was... Well.... Superb! I had the Eggplant Parmesan (which was a special dinner on the night I went), my sister had the lemon chicken, and my brother-in-law had white fish (another special). We ordered bruschetta as an appetizer for the table, house salads, and house wine. Ambiance, excellent food, outstanding staff all made for a wonderful night out.

Excellent family run restaurant. We have gone there since Francois was the chef years ago. Lucky to have Mona Lisa in HB. Just one thing, since the delightful expansion of the premises, at least one front door is,open all the time and the cool breeze from the ocean is chilly and unexpected. Went looking on Google Maps for an Italian place in the area and found this. The food was excellent. The house special Rotini Mona Lisa had a very rich sauce with lots of sausage and olives. The lobster ravioli was exceptional and had a sauce worthy of licking the plate. I just wish there was more of it. To top it off, the house-made tiramisu was the best Ive ever had. Great place, definitely worth stopping in.

I have been several times with my boyfriend, we always have a great experience. Food is amazing, staff is amazing, and the price increase does not deter us at all. We will be going in tonight for our 6th time :) cant wait. The only negative thing I will say is weve ordered delivery before and it was not as good as dining in, but that was more so the drivers fault, so go and sit down for a nice romantic evening. Go, just GO. Greeted at the door by friendly smiles. We were surprised the place was not packed, but also glad to we got to sit right away. Dont let the strip-mall fool you, this place is LEGIT. We sat at the kitchen counter and chatted up a bit with the chefs, we saw what they put in the food, how it was plated, and then finally how it tasted. Wow wow wow, phenomenal, delicious, and inexpensive. This meal in Miami Florida would have easily been $100 for the two of us, we walked away with full bellies and laughter for half of that. Dont pass up this great little restaurant.

Our best Italian restaurant in Huntington Beach, CA. The food is phenomenal. Debbie and Luigi, the chef, provide outstanding service in a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. The calamari fritti is light, al dente and so scrumptious. The cioppino and linguine mare are so rich and tasty, with a delectable cornucopia of seafood items that will leave you craving for it the next time you come. The food here is really good. However, way too expensive. Two small salads, a small pizza, two cokes (in a can, no refills) and plain pasta with Marinara was 73 dollars with tip. They charged us 4 dollars to split the plate of pasta which I didnt even intend for him to literally split. No mention of the extra charge because it was hidden in small print on the menu apparently. As good as the food is, they should be more reasonable in terms of price.

Actually the servers treat all of us the same and nobody yelled like she is stating in her review. As well she was sat by a server not the chef . Shes lying, we were eating right next to her table. I had the sausage rigatoni but substituted linguine because you can choose whatever noodles ya want. Homemade pasta, bread, sauces. The lunch menu includes a salad u til 2 pm then you pay for it as a side. Tiramisu, the best and fresh made not too sweet or rich just like the sauce. No wonder they’re doubling their space. You must try this place and the service is perfect and naturally great people. Generous portions so bring some home for a second full meal.

This place is horrible ! I came in stood at the front for over 5 minutes the chef came out and greeted me . I was thinking it must be very busy in there @7:33 pm on a Thursday evening . When someone finally came to seat me, there were only two other tables seated in the restaurant. I sat down and 0ver 10 minutes went by With servers standing around doing NOTHING ! I was so uncomfortable. I finally got up to leave . The waitress then approached me letting me know That I was by myself and her other table was more important because it was a party of 4 (ok? ) . After leaving I called the restaurant the manager answered, he told me he sat me 1 minute before I left He told me I was lying . And He then hung up on me ! He would not even let me speak he was so rude . He was yelling over the phone why? I was not yelling at him that was even more awkward. I usually do not write reviews but this was a one of a kind experience, I hope no one else encounters .I completely understand when a restaurant is busy, but when servers are just standing around this is not a comfortable situation for a customer . What a shame times have changed ….. The lack of customer service and unprofessional service . What happened to the good old days when you were actually served and respected when you dine out, Dining out should being an amazing experience, the wait staff was extremely rude and unapproachable . I had the seared ahi, linguini with olive oil and garlic..too garlic for my taste, even though I asked for light garlic. Should have trusted my gut and changed the side. The baked rigatoni was excellent. Caprese salad was decent, bummed the tomatoes were not ripe. The tiramisu was excellent. No hard liquor, just beer and wine. Best part of our meal was our server. A very personable and witty guy from Romania! He really provides excellent service. Other waitress who also checked in on us, was nice and friendly, but unfortunately overshared with us about how she ate too much tiramisu once and was apparently lactose intolerant and had experience a not so pleasant outcome..TMI...especially since one of us had just ate that exact dessert. Anyway, if it had a liquor license, my rating would have been a 4.5, and without the excellent service of our waiter it would have been a 3. This restaurant was recommended by my family, we are all locals. They are big fans of risotto and wine, so I can see why they like it.

Started with the Bruschetta, a little expensive but very tasty. Wife ordered a Coke but never recieved it which is a good thing. I ordered the Chicken Gorgonzola, a chicken breast with a Gorgonzola cream sauce and topped with Walnuts. Very very tasty my favorite. Wife got the Chicken Marsala which i liked also, it was a little sweet for her tasting but it was delicious and she ate it all. I give Mona Lisa a 5 star rating.

I looked at three different menus from Mona Lisa on Adams and Magnolia on line and the prices were nowhere on what i spent. I got a small caesar salad and chicken Marsala and it came to $34.00. Maybe thats why it was empty at 12:30 in the afternoon on Saturday. I was the only customer there and i got it to go. The food is not that good for that kind of price. very disappointed. My mom was diagnosed with dementia, she also had brain surgery last year due to a near fatal fall and no longer can walk, shes in a wheelchair, we walk into restaurant, wondering where to sit, Florence, a Make waiter pointed to a table, which required him to remove a chair for her wheelchair to fit in comfortably, he just pointed to the available table and walked away, I moved the chair myself so Mom and wheelchair could fit, allowing her proper access to eat, our server, young female grabbed the chair and properly removed chair for Mom, what a horrible waiter with no regard for disability needs, he couldnt careless, awful, here in HB since 74, Dad was a well respected Surfer and Engineer, Mom a retired nurse from Hoag since 76, our 1st time at Mona Lisa. I kept my composure for Mom. Management is the pits as we were never offered the special and mom spilled her coke, only to be offered dry napkins to clean ourselves. Our server was very polite and did her best with poor management guidance. Sad, food was good, and I know if my husband and I return, ( he was not there tonight) we will not tolerate anything like this again. Posted sweet pics as I dont know how much time Mom has left.

Now, Im a little picky about my Italian food, and the first thing I try at any restaurant is either the cioppino or the pescatore to see how well they handle their seafood. And let me just say their linguine pescatore is one of the best Ive ever had. It was more of a cioppino-style stew than you usually see, and they are very generous in the amount of shellfish they give you--which is perfect. I almost drank the broth. Then, while my fiancée and I were literally talking about how wed have to come back sometime to try the tiramisu, they brought out one, complimentary, since it was our first time there! We shared the Gamberetti a la Caprese and a Cesar salad between the 4 of us and then order our own entrees. Rigatoni con Gamberi e Limoncello, Pollo Marsala, and the special of the night. We finished off with Tiramisu, Cheesecake with Blueberries, Carrot Cake, and Cappuccinos. I was told that this restaurant is owned and operated by several of the workers there. Our server (Martin) was very informative and was very knowledgeable of the menu. The Chef even came out of kitchen to greet diners.The food.... Well, delicious. Started off with the Calamari fritti, which was light and crispy. The spicy marinara converted me as I generally pass on it when it comes to calamari, but not in this case. I had one of the Chef Francois specials, which was Linguine with salmon and chicken, with a creamy Gorgonzola cheese sauce with red onion and walnuts. Pasta was cooked perfectly and I did not have to salt or pepper my food, as seasoning was on the money. No Parmesan as the chef did not allow it on the dish, and I can respect that.The dessert: tiramisu which was creamy with a nice light sweetness and balance with the coffee and marsala. I was blown away to find out there was no mascarpone as is generally characteristic of a tiramisu. It was made with whipped cream, made in-house by the Chef. I was impressed because you couldve fooled me 10 times out of 10 on this.If youve read this far I think it safe to say Ive convinced you. If not oh well, Ive convinced myself to go back.
