Moody Rooster in Westlake Village

The Moody Rooster is one of Westlake Villages top eateries. From the delicious and creative dishes that are inspired from seasonal ingredients, to the attentive and thoughtful service from the hostesses, servers and bartenders. Every time I visit there is always something new and exciting to try. Each aspect of this restaurant is firing on all cylinders. Do yourself a favor and make a reservation now!

First time here. Friend and I decided to sample and share a few different things. Everything was delicious, and theres a lot more to still try. Server was very friendly and offered suggestions from his personal favorites to popular dishes, and what we had had.

Met a few of my friends at the Moody Rooster today. Ive always heard good things about this place. Everybody tells me the service is awesome. The food is great. Well I was not disappointed. The service was awesome. The food was amazing. I highly recommend it and I will be back. My friends love their food and it was the first time for all of us.

I honestly don’t understand all the 5 star reviews. The food Is decorative without substance and highly overpriced for what you get. 1/3 of us liked our dinner and that was the chicken dish. The prawns were nothing special and a flat iron steak was very salty. The bacon wrapped figs were not very good and neither were the green beans. The service was mediocre. It wasn’t the servers fault, they didn’t have enough servers. If presentation is important to you, you might like the place,but if you’re looking for substance, you won’t like it.

All right for the record I dont give out very many five star reviews and if I can give out more I would for this restaurant. This is my first time at this location as I just recently moved and Im so happy that they did.Parking is super easy as youre in a strip mall. We all got different drinks and each one was equally as good.For food we decided to share so we got the carrots with harissa as an appetizer, We also got the mozzarella. And for entrées we share the pasta with sausage and oxtail. Im not gonna lie I still think about that pasta... We finished with a pear crostata and coffee.This is one of my new favorite restaurant

The Moody Rooster was an awesome experience from the food to the service. We highly recommend this place! Our group had the roasted 1/2 chicken, Milo’s meatballs, scampi flatbread, crispy gnocchi, roasted mushrooms, roasted Brussels sprouts, and milk and cookies & lemon olive oil cake for dessert!

The best gnocchi Ive had in my life. Better than any place ive been to in Italy. The drinks, appetizers, entrees were all fantastic.The gnocchi was cooked perfectly. Crispy on the outside with a thin delicate crust and a velvety interior. The bricollini was perfectly charred with excellent carmalizarion and smokiness with a delicious sauce. The cornbread was also excellent as was the pork tomahawk which had excellent flavor and was very jucy.The staff was attentive and friendly. I would highly recommend this restaurant

Having been back a few times now, The food is fresh and changes daily and is incredibly flavorful.We always sit at the bar when we can, and this place only has four seats total at the bar. So it’s not a place for people that like to socialize and have cocktails and eat. The service at the bar was excellent however and so that’s five + stars. Navid has been at the bar serving us every time and he is incredible! So attentive and accommodating 💗💗💗The selection of alcohol is eclectic and focuses on small batch distilleries and local families. I didn’t have any of their alcohol that day as we were there for lunch, so I can’t comment on their selection.The kitchen is open to the restaurant and very busy, and the room has nothing to absorb noise. So even people speaking in normal tones seem loud and intrusive. The items we tried on multiple occasions were excellent. However the sausage pasta which is one of their staples was not to my liking… only because that’s not my type of dish. the cornbread was unbelievably amazing, chicken was juicy and delicious, The burrata salad with pesto was incredible. So the items that I did end up trying were excellent with the exception of the sausage pasta but that’s my own taste preference. I’m sure some people would just love it.**** We did go back and I had the salmon - awesome, the goat cheese toast - omg amazing, spanikotta - incredible🎉🎉🎉And I am literally OBSESSED with the trout toast 👅👅Overall it’s a great place for A delicious meal. They did move from a much smaller space with a very uninspiring and cramped room and so this is significantly better….Overall, definitely worth trying🎉for a great flavor sensation. 🎉🎉🎉

This place was delicious! We had the Duroc pork tomahawk and the crispy gnocchi. The pork was seasoned and cooked to perfection! We were lucky enough to get a table to the side of their open kitchen so we got to watch it being cooked with precision and care by the talented chefs, which was a nice bonus. Will be back.

I highly recommend calling for a reservation. Some of the most exquisite foods presented. Seasonal plates and exquisite cuisine. Service was exceptional. Even though there’s only a two hour limit per table. Due to the overwhelming popularity in demand of this establishment, reservations are highly recommended and the only way to really enjoy this experience.
